Elizabeth Jane “Betty” Fuqua, 95, of Mayetta, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.&nbsp;

She was born February 22, 1930 at St. Benedict, the daughter of John and Merwina Levings Martin. She was the fourth oldest of nine children. She graduated from Public High School in Seneca, and from Washburn University in Topeka.

She married Jack Fuqua on October 15, 1953 at Assumption Church in Topeka. They were blessed with 68 ½ years of marriage. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2022.

Betty was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Mayetta, and a member and Past President of the Altar Society at the church.

Betty taught at different schools for eight years, including schools at Silver Lake and Dwight, KS, and at Assumption Catholic School in Topeka. She had also taught all eight grades in a one room school house. She worked at Luce Press Clipping Bureau for 3 ½ years and operated a daycare from her home for fourteen years.

Betty was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Steve Fuqua, a daughter, Janie Teetzel, a great granddaughter, Abella Rose Teetzel, a son-in-law, who she loved as a son, Floyd Teetzel, and siblings, Charlotte Jones, Rosemary Passino, Jim Martin, twins Leo and Leroy Martin, Chuck Martin and Anne Whitesell.

Survivors include two sons, Van Fuqua and George Fuqua, both of Mayetta, four daughters, Debbie Albright (Steve), Mayetta, Mary DeVader (Doug), Holton, &nbsp;Kim Fuqua (Lenny Riley), Mayetta and Michelle Auten, Topeka, a sister, Patricia Taylor, Wichita, twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 Noon on Thursday, March 20th at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Mayetta. Burial will follow in the Mayetta Cemetery. Betty will lie in state after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt, where a Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m., followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m.

Myrna Cleotta Weese, 88, of Edgerton, MO passed away March 16, 2025.

She was born on June 17, 1936, to Cleo and Ida Mae (Fulton) Hopkins in Albany, MO where she grew up and attended school.

On December 25, 1952, she was united in marriage to Delbert Byrl Weese. After their marriage they moved with the Air Force and in 1959, they moved to Edgerton, MO where they made their home. Delbert passed away on April 18, 2010.

Myrna retired as a librarian from the Mid- Continent Public Library in Edgerton after several years of service. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was also a member of the Eastern Star and the Edgerton Chamber of Commerce. Myrna served as a City Alderman and she also served on the Edgerton Pioneers Day’s Committee. She enjoyed traveling, camping with her family, canning, cooking and most of all, she loved serving her community.

She was preceded in death by her husband Delbert; her parents Cleo and Ida Mae Hopkins; her daughter Debbra Jean Riddle and her sister Marian Lee.

Myrna is survived by her son Daneth Weese, Sr.; her daughter Kathern Moore; her grandchildren Deljon Riddle, Karye Riddle, Daneth Weese, Jr., Amber (Mark) Thomas, Derek (Kacie) Weese, Sydni (Shon) Sigrist, Austin Weese, Kyle Hendricks, Miles Moore, and Megan Moore; great-grandchildren Kennedy Riddle, Gavin Riddle, Maddux Thomas, Isabelle Thomas, Landon Weese, Graysen Weese, Lennix Weese, Gavin Bernard, Jordan Hendricks, Hunter Hendricks, and Mason Hendricks; brothers Lary (Sue) Hopkins and Sterling (Chandra) Hopkins; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Cherry King, 64, of Kearney, MO passed away, March 16, 2025.

She was born on February 4, 1961 to Delbert Ray and Joyce Coleen (Wayman) Boggess in Smithville, MO. Cherry grew up in Kearney and graduated from Kearney High School in 1979. She later graduated from Paris II School of Cosmetology.

On September 6, 1986 she was united in marriage to James King. After their marriage they lived in the Smithville and Kearney area where they made their home.

She owned and operated Cherry’s Family Hair Care in Edgerton, MO for many years. In her younger years she played softball. She enjoyed camping, her flowers, had a great sense of style and most of all loved spending time with her grandson.

Cherry was preceded in death by her mother.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; sons, Nathan King and Isaac King; grandson, Ranson King; father, Delbert Boggess; and brother, Anthony (Kathy) Boggess; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 22nd at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service. A Private Family Inurnment will be held at a later date at Muddy Fork Cemetery, Holt, MO.

Hilary L. Ramsey, 84, of St. Joseph, MO passed away January 7, 2025.

She was born on September 14, 1940, to Harry Shafer and Drusilla Blanche (Copeland) Hay in Edgerton MO. Hilary grew up in Kansas City, MO where she graduated from high school.

Hilary raised her three children in St. Joseph, MO. She worked as a bookkeeper for several years for Einbender’s in St. Joseph. Hilary was an avid reader and loved her cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents Shake and Blanche Hay and her infant sister Harriett Hay.

Hilary is survived her children Melissa (Wally) Gasper, Martin (Michelle) Ramsey and Jennifer (Skippy) Gardner; grandchildren Samuel (Kaitlin) Crowley, Matt (Therese) Crowley, Sean Ramsey, Allie Ramsey, Jake Gardner, Kylie (Garrett) Campbell and Wyatt Gardner; great-granddaughter Rosalie Campbell; other relatives and many friends.

Diana Lynn Hensley 62, of St Joseph, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025 at a local health care facility. She was born May 25, 1962 in St. Joseph, daughter of Margaret and Robert Weaver. 

Diana attended Lafayette High School. She enjoyed drawing, coloring, listening to music, and spending time with her friends and family.

 Diana was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Pete Hensley, sister, Rosanna Harman, and brother, Kenneth Barnett. 

Survivors include: children, Rachelle Kruse, Diana Blizzard, Joshua Hurt, Selena Moore, and Kenneth Hensley, siblings, Jimmy Berry, Beverly Loucks, and Penny Randall, 4 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ms. Hensley has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Neva Marie Weir, 98, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 15th, 2025.

Neva is preceded in death by husband, Robert Withrow married 53 years and son, Ken Withrow.

Survivors: Beloved husband Marvin Weir Sr. married 28 years. Children: Richard Withrow (Marilyn), Ron Withrow (Carole), Cheryl Jung (Jeff), Jeannie Withrow, daughter-in-law. Stepchildren: Marvin Weir, Jr. (Cindy), Tammy Weir, Tom Weir (Jen) and Tim Weir (Connie). 18 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Faith was always at the forefront of Neva's life, daily prayers were a staple of her life.

Neva has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith-Sidenfaden Chapel of St. Joseph, Missouri.

A celebration of life will be at a later date.

Harold Ray Bracken 68, Stanberry Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Mosaic Health Care St Joseph Mo. He was born April 26,1956 to Harold and Mary Charlotte (Osborn) Bracken in Maryville, Mo. 

He derived immense joy from car shows, hunting and anything to do with the outdoors. A Memorial service will be held Saturday March 22 at the Island City Christian Church, 397th St. Stanberry Missouri. The family will receive friends at 10am with the funeral at 11. 

A fellowship luncheon will be held immediately following the service, all are invited.

Harold Bracken 1956 - 2025

&nbsp;Russell Leroy Beers 90, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025 at his home. He was born December 31, 1934 in Stewartsville, MO, son of Lorene and Norville "Lee" Beers. Russell graduated from Missouri School for the Deaf in 1955. On June 27, 1970 he married Christina Vaughn in St. Joseph. He was the Co-Pastor and Founder of Signs of Love Church for the Deaf, and served as Associate Pastor alongside his wife Chris at New Life Cathedral in St. Joseph. Russell also worked as a Painting Contractor for many years.

Russell was a loving husband father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His favorite times were spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, working in his yard or sitting on his glider. He also enjoyed boating and swimming and vacationing in Branson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Chantelle Beers, and brother, Glenn Beers. Survivors include: his wife of 54 years, Christina Beers of the home, sons, Brent (Jackie) Beers and Jeremy Beers, both of St. Joseph, sister, Judy Wiggington of St. Joseph, grandchildren, Lane (Shaylee), Tyler (Chyann), Tayler (Tyler David), Hayley and Piper, great-grandchildren, Leia, Mason, Ryker, Beau, and Bennett.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Rupp Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday. Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Russell Leroy Beers 1934-2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, Viola Mae Mason.&nbsp;Viola passed away peacefully under the care of her family and the assistance of hospice at home on March &nbsp;13, 2025. Like everything she did in life, she fought a hard battle with humor and grace.&nbsp;

Viola was born on February 5th, 1943 in Bendena, KS to Edward and Pearl Brassfield.She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brothers, George and Ronald Brassfield.

She is survived by her children, Phillip Mason (Leslie) and Pamela Mason. Her siblings, brother, Ed Brassfield (Margaret), and sisters, Mildred Adkins and Vineta Walkup (Ed), and sister-in-law, Dolores Snider (George). Three grandchildren, Chad Mason, Sarah Mason (Nathan,) and Brooke Mason (De’Rion), two great grandchildren, Bentley Davis and Amari Rambo, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She lived most of her life in St. Joseph, MO, and worked at Johnson Controls for 28 years, where she participated in several memorabilia antics.

After retiring in 2005, she enjoyed traveling mostly out west to visit family. She loved her dog, Miss Roni, playing bingo, working on puzzles, and giving hell to all of her family and friends on a daily basis. She was our ornery, fun loving, warm hearted, always ready for a good laugh Granny. She loved her family and we will miss her very much!

The family will receive visitors on Monday, March 17th, 2025 from 5-7 pm at Rupp Funeral Home in St. Joseph, MO. &nbsp;A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at her final resting place in Moray Cemetery, Moray, Kansas.&nbsp;

Viola Mae Mason 1943-2025

&nbsp;Charles "Chuck" Eugene Smith, 58, of Dearborn, Missouri passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at his home in Dearborn.

He was born November 6, 1966 in Joplin, MO, son of Betty and Charles Smith. Chuck worked for many years as a Painting Contractor, mostly with Scott Gann Construction. He enjoyed sports, especially boxing, the KC Chiefs and shooting guns and his best times were spent being with his family.

Chuck was preceded in death by father, Charles L. Smith, mother, Betty Wininger. Survivors include children, Corey (Samantha) Griswold of Madison, NE, Larissa Smith (Roy Zimmer) of Dearborn, MO, Ashley (Brycen) Larison of St. Joseph, grandchildren, Gavin, Jaidence, Shane, Noah and Bella, brothers, Donnie and Steve Smith, both of Joplin, MO.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at the Rupp Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Rupp Funeral Home. Mr. Smith will be cremated following services.

Betty Jane (Myers) Harris, 96, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

She was born March 12, 1929 to William Marvin and Eva Irene (Allison) Myers of St. Joseph.

Betty attended Hyde grade school and graduated from Benton High School. She was recipient of the Jr. Art Medal, attendant to the football queen three years, inducted into the National Honor Society in her Junior year, a member of the Polyhymnia Literary Society and Benton's candidate for St. Joe Relays in her Senior year. She helped plan and decorate for her class reunions every five years and kept in touch with many classmates years after graduation.

Betty married Jerry Ronald Acord in 1949 and they had five children. Always a homemaker, she also worked at home as a colorist and negative retoucher for Bray and Kordel Photography Studios. She and Jerry were married twenty-five years and after they parted, she went on to marry Garvin Preston “Gary” Filbert, head basketball coach of Missouri Weston State College. She was active in the Faculty Wives and served as president one year. She worked as a buyer-clerk for Hirsch's Department store. They were married nine years.

In 1984, Betty's daughter convinced her to move to San Diego, California. She loved everything about it and took her a week to call it home. She worked as a buyer-clerk for The Scott's of La Jolla and then manager of the Patrician senior apartments in upper La Jolla. She belonged to a club sponsored by the La Jolla Presbyterian church for senior singles called the Dolphins. They had a membership of 300 from the San Diego area and she became activity director. Dancing was her passion and when an Argentine dance group came to San Diego to perform, she was able through her dance class to meet the group and get a three-minute dance. She made many friends with many stories, two of which she kept in contact with to the end.

Betty flew back to St. Joe and to Texas to visit children and friends many times. On her 60th Birthday her children sent her to Cancun.

In the fall of 1989, she met Warren Harris and discovered they were both from St Joe. They knew many of the same people and places. They married in 1991 and honeymooned in Cabo San Lucas. They bought a Yorkie and then a condo in Oceanside, California. They shared a love of good music, walks on the beach, fine food and spirits. Betty was a member of two writing groups, and a drama group. Warren had retired but went back to work only to have a quadruple bypass. Being retired and rising California prices motivated them to move to Independence, Missouri, where she discovered she had operate-able colon cancer. In 2002, they went on a cruise and revisited Cabo before they moved to St. Joe. In 2009, Betty lost her daughter Jody to cancer and Jody's passions became hers -- The Friends of The Animal Shelter and Loess Bluffs.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husband, her sister, Ruth Dandliker; brother, William Myers; and daughter, Jody Leigh Acord; two sons-in-law, Brad Osborn and Pat Sheehan.

Survivors are daughters, Janie Osborn of Kansas City, Missouri, Jerri Walters of La Jolla, California, Julie Sheehan of Frisco, Texas; son, Edward Curtis Acord (Sandy) of St. Joe; 7 granddaughters; 2 grandsons; 3 step-granddaughters; 8 great-granddaughters and 12 great-grandsons; 4 nieces; 4 nephews; and Warren's two daughters and families; and sister, Shirley Simpson, St. Joe.

Diana Wilson, 67, Stephenville, Texas, passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by loved ones in St. Joseph, Missouri on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

She was born December 28, 1957 to Earl and Shirley Belcher in Kansas City, Missouri.

Throughout her years, Diana was a consummate working professional tending to management roles with several esteemed local businesses.

Diana loved working outdoors, cooking with friends and family, and rarely left home without her dogs in tow. She will be remembered for her love of koalas, her sharp wit, her big smile, and her legendary hugs and kisses.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Early and Shirley Belcher and brother, Larry Belcher.

Survivors include her children, Michelle and Casey Wilson; grandchildren, Madison, Taylor, Austin, and Dakota; great-grandchildren, Ashtyn, Izayuh, Brielle, Khyler, Kimani, and Maximus; siblings, Carol Anderson, Jim Belcher, Allen Belcher (Natalie), and Cathy Jankovich.

Sister Frances Yarc, OSB, 97, a Benedictine sister of Mount St. Scholastica, Atchison, Kans., died Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the monastery. The vigil service will be Thursday, March 27, at 7:00 p.m. in the monastery chapel, and the Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated there Friday, March 28, at 10:30 a.m.

Sister Frances Yarc was born in Kansas City, Kan., on Dec. 30, 1927, to John and Frances Safer Yarc, the second oldest of five children. She attended Ward High School there for a year and a half before leaving to care for her mother. She entered the Mount community in 1946 and later earned a B.S. in education from Mount St. Scholastica College. She was a teacher for 22 years in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska. After receiving L.P.N. training, she served at Providence Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., and in the Mount infirmary. She earned her R.N. degree in 1979 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka and was a nursing supervisor in the Mount infirmary for several years. She later did home health care and care of the aged until she retired in 2000. Sister Frances continued to help with hospitality to guests at the monastery for some time after that. She enjoyed painting and displayed her oil paintings at local art fairs where she won several awards.

Sister Frances was preceded in death by her parents, by her brothers John and Albert Yarc, and by her sister Bernice Jurkovich. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Viola Mae Mason.&nbsp;Viola passed away peacefully under the care of her family and the assistance of hospice at home on March &nbsp;13, 2025. Like everything she did in life, she fought a hard battle with humor and grace.&nbsp;

Viola was born on February 5th, 1943 in Bendena, KS to Edward and Pearl Brassfield.She is preceded in death by her parents as well as her brothers, George and Ronald Brassfield.

She is survived by her children, Phillip Mason (Leslie) and Pamela Mason. Her siblings, brother, Ed Brassfield (Margaret), and sisters, Mildred Adkins and Vineta Walkup (Ed), sister-in-law Dolores Snider (George). Three grandchildren, Chad Mason, Sarah Mason (Nathan) and Brooke Mason (De’Rion), two great grandchildren, Bentley Davis and Amari Rambo as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She lived most of her life in St. Joseph, MO and worked at Johnson Controls for 28 years where she participated in several memorabilia antics.

After retiring in 2005, she enjoyed traveling mostly out west to visit family. She loved her dog, Miss Roni, playing bingo, working on puzzles and giving hell to all of her family and friends on a daily basis. She was our ornery, fun loving, warm hearted, always ready for a good laugh granny. She loved her family and we will miss her very much!

The family will receive visitors on Monday, March 17th, 2025 from 5-7 pm at Rupp Funeral home in St. Joseph, MO. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at her final resting place in Moray Cemetery, Moray, Kansas.&nbsp;

Ruby Katherine (Kathy) Kobett, 89, Saint Joseph, MO passed away peacefully March 12, 2025. A private graveside service will be held 11 am, Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Stewartsville, MO, under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel.&nbsp;

Kathy was born May 29, 1935, in King City, Missouri and graduated from Clarksdale High School in the Class of 1953.

She worked at Beattie’s grocery where she met Jim Kobett. Kathy and Jim were married on October 21, 1955. They celebrated sixty-two years of marriage.&nbsp;

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Kathy loved spending time with and doting on all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was seen at many sporting and school events throughout the years cheering on her children and grandchildren.&nbsp;

Kathy was also known for her love of animals and had a special fondness for dogs and cats.&nbsp;

Kathy is preceded in death by husband, Jim Kobett. She is survived by son, Jim Kobett, daughter-in-law, Kimberly, St. Joseph, MO; daughter, Jane Smith (Terry), Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren, Alicia, Allison, Alexis, Kori and Kobe; and nine great-grandchildren.

Cheryl Ann Hitchens, 65, of Atchison, Kansas died March 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service will be held on 2:00PM, Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Cline officiating. Cheryl was born on March 14, 1959, in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of James and Betty (Hill) Cline. She married Sam Hitchens on January 10, 1984, and he survives at home. She was a member of Faith Valley Church of God and had a deep love for her lord. She enjoyed reading the bible, listening to Christian music, painting ceramics, Omaha Zoo, snow babies, bird watching, and caring for her flowers and plants. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, sons, Rick Hitchens, Brian (Amanda) Hitchens, daughters, Diane (Bob) Grippin, Cindy (Jeremiah) Sanders, fourteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren with two on the way, brothers, Tom (Connie) Cline, Dan Cline, Mike (Betty) Cline, Paul (Tracy) Cline, and sister-in-laws, Judy Cline and Diane Cline. She is preceded by her parents, brothers, Ron Cline, James Cline, Gary Cline, and sister-in-law Cathy Cline.

Aaron Bruce Card, Sr, 85, of Bella Vista, AR died on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the Highland Home Health &amp; Rehabilitation Center in Bella Vista, AR.

Graveside services and burial will be 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 20th, 2025, at the Sumner Cemetery, Atchison, KS. The Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Aaron was born on Sept. 10th, 1939, in Jim Falls, WI, the son of George and Erma (Noyes) Card. Aaron worked as an over the road truck driver for several different trucking companies for many years. He was a former member of the Odd Fellows, and enjoyed hunting, camping, traveling and visiting family.

He was married to Martha Fae Vessar on January 19th, 1963, in Falls City, NE. She survives of the home in Bella Vista, AR. Additional survivors include a son Aaron B. (Kristen) Card, Jr, Pea Ridge, AR, a daughter Janet (Max) Klamm, Horton, KS, a brother Fred Card, Holton, KS and a sister, Mae Froelich, Chippewa Falls, WI, nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. His parents, a sister, and half brother preceded him in death.

Memorial service will be 10:30AM, Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Becker Chapel, 402 3rd St., Effingham, KS with Rev. Linda Sweany officiating. The body has been cremated, and the interment of the cremated remains will be at the Coal Creek Cemetery, north of Valley Falls, KS. Mary Claire was born on August 29, 1934, in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Howard and Marjorie (Arington) Reichart. She graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1952. Mary was the USD 377 Elementary School Secretary for twenty-nine years. She was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Valley Falls, KS and enjoyed reading and embroidery.

Mary Claire married Donald Eugene Wohlgemuth on July 31, 1953, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Atchison, KS. He preceded her on March 6, 2019. Survivors include two sons, Kirk and Ruth Wohlgemuth, Effingham, KS, Kent and Mary Beth Wohlgemuth, Atchison, KS, a sister Patricia Milliken, Spring Valley, CA, six grandchildren sixteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her parents also preceded her in death.

Eileen Glenette Rethemeyer 58, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, MO. She was born November 21, 1966 in St. Joseph, Missouri, daughter of the late Patricia &amp; Gene Rethemeyer. 

She graduated from Central High School, and obtained an Associates Degree from Vatterott College. She worked as a loan analyst. Eileen enjoyed painting and building birdhouses, collecting bobble heads, cooking, going to the boat, spending time with her grandchildren, and nagging Chuck. She was a fiery red head, who enjoyed listening to her favorite bands Meatloaf and Prince. She loved her pets, especially her little terrier Gertie. She had many friends who will miss her dearly. 

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Alicia Rethemeyer. 

She is survived by daughter, Raeleen Owens (Jacob Kimler) of St. Joseph, MO, eight grandchildren: Memphis, Riley, Daisy, and Cade Owens, Breanna, Dominic, Oliver Kimler, and Ayden Liechti, brothers, Mark (Vicki) Rethemeyer of Plantation, FL, Steven (Laura) Rethemeyer of Ridgefield, WA, sister, Gina (Rick) Gilbert of Belton, TX, niece, Serenity (Ed) Sternberg of St. Joseph, MO, great niece and nephews, Quinlan, Qearnyn, and Quaid Yates, as well as her significant other, Chuck Drowns of the home. 

The family will receive family and friends at Fruedenthal Home Health, 2425 N. Woodbine Road, St. Joseph, MO, from 1:00-2:00 with a Celebration of Life at 2:00 Sunday, March 16, 2025. There will be a potluck dinner following the service. She will be cremated under the direction of the Rupp Funeral Home.

Ruby Katherine (Kathy) Kobett,89, Saint Joseph, MO passed away peacefully March 12, 2025. A private graveside service will be held 11 am, Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Stewartsville, MO, under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel.&nbsp;Kathy was born May 29, 1935, in King City, Missouri and graduated from Clarksdale High School in the Class of 1953.She worked at Beattie’s grocery where she met Jim Kobett. Kathy and Jim were married on October 21, 1955. They celebrated sixty-two years of marriage.&nbsp;She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Kathy loved spending time with and doting on all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was seen at many sporting and school events throughout the years cheering on her children and grandchildren.&nbsp;Kathy was also known for her love of animals and had a special fondness for dogs and cats.&nbsp;Kathy is preceded in death by husband, Jim Kobett. She is survived by son, Jim Kobett, daughter-in-law, Kimberly, St. Joseph, MO; daughter, Jane Smith (Terry), Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren, Alicia, Allison, Alexis, Kori and Kobe; and nine great-grandchildren.

Alice Faye Lewis, 86, of Savannah, passed away on Wednesday March 12, 2025. &nbsp;

Alice was born in Maryville, MO, on September 17, 1938. &nbsp;Her late parents were Charles &amp; Beaulah Lee.

Alice graduated from Savannah High School in 1957.

She married Gary Lewis on September 9, 1957 in Savannah, MO. He preceded her in death on June 30, 2024.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing garments and draperies.

Alice is survived by 2 children; daughter; Tammy (Tom), son; Roger. Grandchildren; T.J, Tracy, and Ron, great-grandchildren; Jaigen, Lee, Savannah, Brooke, Katarina, Maverick and Bella and a sister; Margie Roberts. In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by brothers; Calvin and Wayne Clark.
