Nancy Sue Russell, 78, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
She was born October 16, 1947 in St. Joseph, daughter of Virginia and Clifton Carter. Nancy was a graduate of Lafayette High School. She worked at Chase Candy Company and was a long-time home health caregiver. She enjoyed playing bingo, going to garage sales and thrift stores or just always was looking for a bargain. Nancy was a member of the former McCarthy Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by parents, son, Kevin Russell, and sister, Sharon Wood.
Survivors include sons, Jeffrey (Angie) Russell of St. Joseph, Tommy (Sherri) Russell, Jr. of Clarksdale, MO, and Eldon (Erin) Armstrong of St. Joseph, sister, Phyllis Applegarth of Maysville, MO, brother, Dean Carter of St. Joseph, MO, 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Nancy Russell Memorial Fund, c/o Rupp Funeral Home.
