Bobby Holaday, 77, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025.

He was born July 3, 1947 in Fresno, California, and later adopted by R.J. and Helen (Cline) Holaday. Bobby graduated from Elwood High School, then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he proudly served his country for 21 years.

Bobby married Leila Ruth Broce on June 26, 1968, and from this union six sons were born.

After retiring from the military, Bobby was a housing inspector at Fort Leavenworth, then later was a custodial engineer at Missouri Western State University.

He enjoyed working in his garden, and loved music, playing the piano and drums.

He loved the Lord and was a faithful church member, never missing a Sunday service.

Bobby was a good man known for his strength and dry sense of humor. He was a wonderful, loving husband and father, and his family was most important to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Diane Mitchell, Jerry Mulinex, and Charmain Bentrup.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Leila; sons, Curtis Holaday (Julie), Matthew Holaday, Brian Holaday, Jonathan Holaday (Melissa), Jason Holaday, and Joshua Holaday; grandchildren, Daniel, Kenneth, Samuel, Brandon, Jordan, and Hannah Holaday; great-grandchildren, Jude, Evie, Sage, McKinley, Delaney, and Millie; siblings, Velma Pearl Cagle, Charlotte Burrough, Gary Brewer, Linda Bally, Patty Nicholson, Debbie Walker, and Allen Walker; numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

Service 10:00 A.M. Friday, Simplify Cremations &amp; Funerals. Interment Blakely Cemetery, Easton, Missouri. Visitation one hour prior to the service.

He was born July 18, 1949 in Horton to Charles and Darlene (See) Stirton. Bob graduated from Horton High School.

He was a volunteer firefighter for over 25 years as well as a self-employed owner/operator truck driver for over 50 years and his favorite pastime was going to auctions.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant brother, Charles Eldon Stirton.

Survivors include siblings, Dale Stirton (Ruth), Bill Stirton (Sherry), Kay Kimmi, Tammie Diebolt, and Tommie Stirton (Sarah); his ornery cousins Ronnie Collins and Dewayne See as well as several nieces and nephews.

Dianne Lynn Hund, 61, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on Monday, June 23, 2025.

Dianne was born December 8, 1963 to Dennis Ray &amp; Sally Ann Myers in Rimersburg, Pennsylvania.

She married Tom Hund on July 20, 1991, in Wilmore, Kentucky. Although she had a bachelor’s degree in social work, she pursued her ultimate calling as a mother.

Dianne loved everything to do with her children and grandchildren. One could often find her in her kitchen cooking delicious meals or cheering loudly on the sidelines at her children’s sports events. She loved playing horse on the basketball court with her kids. She was an avid scrabble and card player. She was known for her big smile and joyful demeanor.

Most important to Dianne was her walk with Jesus. She loved serving at church, working with children and leading women’s Bible studies. She valued her time as a care-giver to the elderly at Country Squire in St. Joseph. She loved people and opened her home and heart to them. Dianne was also instrumental in helping start the St. Joseph Pregnancy Resource Center.

She was preceded in death by her father Doc Myers. She is survived by her five children: Jonathan Hund (Kate), Hannah Bridgman (Jeff), Sarah Thomas (Keaton), Daniel Hund, and Bethany Hund. She is also survived by her six beloved grandchildren: Elsie, Parker, Lincoln, and Whitten Bridgman, Jack Thomas, and baby Thomas on the way. Other survivors are her husband Tom, her mother Sally Myers, and her brother Denny Myers (Meg).

Although Dianne will be deeply missed, we find much comfort knowing she is now in the arms of Jesus.

Romans 8:38-39 “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Richard Arthur Yunghans “Dick”, 100 years old (or to be exact; 100 years, 9 months, and 23 days old) passed away peacefully on Saturday June 21, 2025 in Overland Park, KS.

Dick was born on August 29, 1924 to Emil and Edith (Zane) Yunghans on their 80 acre farm south of Lansing, KS. He was one of six children. &nbsp;Dick obtained his high school diploma from Lansing High School in Lansing, KS in 2002. &nbsp;He married Elsie Sherrard on January 9th, 1949 in Seneca, KS. &nbsp;Dick and Elsie had 4 children and lived in Piper, KS.

Dick proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Air Force completing 25 bombing missions, and the United States Air Force Reserves. &nbsp;Dick was awarded several medals and citations for his service during the war. &nbsp;On September 12, 2022, the French Ambassador to the United States flew from Washington D.C. to Kansas City to award Dick the National Order of the Legion of Honor which is France’s highest award for his service in the war. &nbsp;He was a Mason, Scottish Rite, Shriner, and a member of the Wyandot Indian Nation of Kansas. &nbsp;Dick was on the Piper School Board, the Prairie Township Board, and was the First Mayor of Piper City in Kansas. &nbsp;He worked at General Motors in Fairfax the majority of his career where he retired from but he also was a grain elevator inspector for the state of Kansas, he was a Lieutenant of the Wyandotte County Sheriff Department, he was a Chief Deputy for the Wyandotte County Election Commissioner, and a Chief Deputy for the Wyandotte County Register of Deeds. &nbsp;

Dick attended Wallula Christian Church and Wyandotte County Christian Church. &nbsp;He enjoyed participating in 4-H when he was younger and was a 4-H leader for 10 years in his adulthood. &nbsp;Dick loved fishing and had a house at Stockton Lake for years. &nbsp;He was also an avid K-State and KC Chiefs fan. &nbsp;Dick really enjoyed attending his annual Air Force reunions for the 484th Bomb Group hosted all over the nation with his wife and his son. &nbsp;He made a lot of great friends at the reunions including Dick Olson and Dave Blake. &nbsp;One of Dick’s biggest goals in life was to live to be 100 years old which he successfully accomplished on August 29th, 2024. &nbsp;He had a wonderful celebration with all of his family and friends.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Elsie (Sherrard) Yunghans; his daughter, Edith (Yunghans) Fry Sneed; his parents, Emil and Edith (Zane) Yunghans; his brothers Zane, Charles, Robert, and Sherman; and a sister Opal (Yunghans) Fulk. &nbsp;He is survived by his daughters Sandra (Yunghans) Myszka and Nancy (Yunghans) Chronister; his son Richard Yunghans II, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

A service will be held on Friday June 27th, 2025 at 11am at the Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth, KS with entombment to follow at Mount Muncie Cemetery in Lansing, KS. &nbsp;There will not be a visitation before the service.

Gary Lee Koehn, the first of seven boys, was born to Glenn and Luella Johnson Koehn on October 30, 1937 in Mcpherson County Kansas. His earthly journey ended, due to complications of old age, on June 22 2025 in his hometown of Hiawatha, Kansas, reaching the age of 87 years.

His eight years of school were spent at Liberty School in Galva, Kansas. He answered the Lord's call and was baptized by minister Abe D Koehn at the age of thirteen. The faith was precious to him all his life.

Dad married Linda Unruh on April 11, 1958, taking her with him to Denver, Colorado for two years of 1-W service the following October. Their first years of married life after service were spent at Galva, Kansas, moving to Almena,Wisconsin in 1968 to begin dairying. While living in Kansas he worked at different manufacturing jobs. They operated the dairy in Wisconsin for 24 years, retiring to a small house they built down the road a little way. After spending a winter in Hiawatha, KS in 2001, they decided to move there in the fall of 2002.

To this union five children were born; two sons and three daughters.

In later years they gave time in different places as house parents: Rochester, Minnesota, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Edmonton, Alberta. Dad enjoyed these times as he was a lover of people.

His survivors include his wife of 67 years, Linda of Hiawatha, KS, Children: Steve and Arlene, Saragosa, TX; Teresa and Dalen Ensz, Muleshoe, TX; Sheldon and Emilie, Hiawatha, KS; Christine and Steve Litwiller, Almena,WI; Connie and Kendall Koehn, Ulysses, KS.

Twenty three grandchildren and thirty four great grandchildren.

Brothers; Garland and Faylene, Ronald and Delores, Linwood and Pauline,

Dawn Michelle Goolsby, 53, of Kansas City, MO died on Sat. June 21, 2025, in Kansas City, MO.

Dawn was born on March 11, 1972, in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Herbert and Beverly Ann (Grisby) Thompson. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1991. Dawn worked as a blackjack dealer for Harrah’s Casino and Ameristar in Kansas City for many years. She was a former member of the Second Baptist Church, Atchison and enjoyed cooking, decorating, playing video games, going camping, hiking, swimming, going on float trips, traveling, and arts and crafts and photography. She loved having fun with all her relatives, friends, neighbors, young and old alike.

She was married to George Goolsby on August 16, 2003. He survives and lives in Kansas City, MO. Additional survivors include two sons Julien Markus Goolsby, and Collin Herbert Goolsby, both of Kansas City, MO, two brothers Calvin Thompson, Wichita, KS and Jared Thompson, Manhattan, KS, a sister Venika Thompson, Cummings, KS a special friend Gary Stamps, Kansas City, MO and several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Some of Dawn’s final words were she “loved everyone and looks forward to all of us being together again when she gets better”.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM on Sat. July 5th, until the time of services at the funeral home.

Jack Whalen Meyer 67, of DeKalb, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025 in DeKalb. He was born November 5, 1957 in Leavenworth, KS, son of the late Lucille and Donald Meyer. He graduated from Lansing High School, and worked on the Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years as a Maintenance Supervisor. He married Denise Reagan on September 28, 1985, and the rest is history. He enjoyed shooting, working on firearms, reloading ammunition, and working and tinkering on cars. Jack loved taking things apart, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of Sugar Creek Christian Church.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Duane Meyer, and grandson, Braxton Meyer. Survivors include: wife, Denise E Meyer of the home, sons, Zachary (Makayla) Meyer of Dearborn, MO, and Reagan (Kelsey Smith) Meyer of Rushville, MO, brother, Michael (Bea) Meyer, sister, Mary Ruth (Mark) Nienhueser, sister-in-law, Cindy Meyer, and grandsons, Emmitt Meyer, Bosten Horner, and Gatlin Meyer.

Jack Whalen Meyer 67, of DeKalb, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025 in DeKalb. He was born November 5, 1957 in Leavenworth, KS, son of the late Lucille and Donald Meyer. He graduated from Lansing High School, and worked on the Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years as a Maintenance Supervisor. He married Denise Reagan on September 28, 1985, and the rest is history. He enjoyed shooting, working on firearms, reloading ammunition, and working and tinkering on cars. Jack loved taking things apart, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of Sugar Creek Christian Church.Jack was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Duane Meyer, and grandson, Braxton Meyer. William Lewis “Bill” Wiseman, 88, of Kansas City, MO passed away June 21, 2025.

He was born on July 16, 1936, to William Lewis and Mary (Wallace) Wiseman in Oak Grove, MO. Bill grew up and attended school in Climax Springs, MO on the family farm.

Bill retired from Yellow Freight Trucking in 1988. After his retirement Bill and his wife Cathy traveled the United States. They later settled in Holden, MO where Bill and his son Steve built their home and they became members of the Elm Spring Baptist Church. Bill enjoyed fishing and wood carving and he loved watching the Chiefs and Royals.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Fern, Juanita and Norma; his brothers Wesley and Chuck; and his daughter Diana.

Bill is survived by his wife Cathy Wiseman; his children Debbie Lawson and husband Gary, Bill Wiseman and wife Dawn, Bob Wiseman, Steve Ewing and wife Beverly and Marilyn Snyder and husband Steve; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister Shirley; brothers Kenny, Randy and Leroy; other relatives and many friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, June 28th at 12:00 p.m. at Elm Spring Baptist Church 567 NW 1601st Rd, Kingsville, MO 64061.

Glenda Kay Mercer, 69, of Atchison, KS, passed away Friday June 20, 2025, at Atchison Senior Village.

Glenda was born August 4, 1955, in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Glen and Winifred (Linden) Chapin. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1974. Glenda was a cook for Atchison Hospital for a couple of years, but her main role in life was raising her kids and taking care of the home.

Glenda married Randal Mercer on September 14, 1974. He preceded her in January 2010. Survivors include two sons, Jeremy and Jonnalyn Mercer, Atchison, KS, Jason Mercer, Paola, KS, siblings, Robert and Shirley Carter, Omaha, NE, Derrill Carter, St. Joseph, MO, Don Chapin, Shawnee, KS, Phil and Regina Chapin, Shreveport, LA, Barb Taylor, Leavenworth, KS, grandchildren, Kyle Mercer, Savannah, Austin, Hunter, nieces and a close friend Cindy Harden.

She was also preceded by parents, a sister Sharon Chapin and a grandchild Ash Mercer.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Robert Verne Packman II 69 of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away June 20, 2025 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph after a short battle with esophagus cancer. He was born on October 20, 1955 to Robert Verne and Clarice Louise Packman. He grew up in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1974. He attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering, and then enlisted in the military on October 6, 1976. While serving in the military, he was trained as an Intercept Equipment System Repairman. He would later go on to work for a variety of companies as their system repair tech. 

Robert married Donna Cook August 14, 1982, but later the couple would divorce. He was a Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packer fan. Rob enjoyed going to Wrigley Field to watch the Cubs play, and he was extremely excited when they won the World Series.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He will deeply be missed by his three children, Angie (Willie) George, Tom (Teresa) Cline, and Melissa (Brian) Dovel. Three sisters, Linda Yednock, Fredericksburg VA, Ruth (Glen) Baumgartner, River Falls WI, and Christy Wilson, Sturtevent, WI. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mr. Packman has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Lester J. Shalz, 87, of Wathena, Kansas; passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 20th, 2025.&nbsp;

Lester was born on May 15th, 1938 in Wathena, Kansas to the late Nicholas and Esther (Dyer) Shalz. He was a graduate of Wathena High School and received his B.S. in mortuary science from the University of Central Oklahoma.

Mr. Shalz proudly served his country in the US Navy.

Lester was united in marriage to Marilee (Madinger) on September 13th, 1958. Together they celebrated sixty-four years of marriage and raised their 6 children. Lester was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.&nbsp;

Lester and Marilee owned and operated Colonial Funeral Home from 1973-1987. &nbsp;In 1987 they moved to Franklin, Nebraska, where they operated Hutchins Funeral Home; until retiring in 2004 and returned to Wathena, Kansas.

Lester's greatest love was spending time with his family. &nbsp;Making many cherished memories on the Missouri River and traveling in their 5th wheel. &nbsp;Lester was a car enthusiast especially when it came to Cadillac's. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Mr. Shalz is survived his six children; Michelle Vandevort (Ted) of St. Joseph, MO; Nick Shalz (Jan) of Green Hills, OH; Mark Shalz of Kansas City, MO; Shana Barrera (AJ) of San Marcos, TX; and Tiffany Sindelar (Marc) of Papillion, NE; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and brother, Robert Shalz, St. Joseph, MO and sisters-in-law, Karol Bembrick (Dennis), Wathena, KS and Melinda Miller (Jim), Wathena, KS

Karen Kline, 37, a spirited and loving individual from St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025.

She was born January 1, 1988 at Fort Hood, Texas to William and Susan (Bullard) Kline.

Karen was a proud graduate of Helen Davis State School. Her enduring love for art and photography allowed her to capture and celebrate precious moments, sharing them with a keen and appreciative eye. Karen was also deeply fascinated by community service heroes, holding special admiration for the courage and dedication of police, firefighters, and medical personnel.

One of the things she used to love was attending the Day Program at UCP, where she brought joy and liveliness to her fellow participants.

Karen enjoyed the time spent with her family, friends and house staff, also watching the simple pleasures of animal companions, Karen found happiness in the pure connections of life.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Susan and her legacy lives on through her father, William Kline, her brothers, Joseph, William, and Andrew, and extended family and friends.

An advocate for always speaking one's mind, Karen never shied away from expressing her feelings, ensuring that those around her knew where they stood in her heart, whether she liked them or not. She was a beacon of creative energy and outspoken honesty, that will be deeply missed. Her memory will forever be a source of strength and comfort to those who were privileged to share in her journey.

Deanna W. Boydston, 86, of Smithville, MO passed away June 22, 2025.

She was born on July 2, 1938, to James Dee and Blanche (Reynolds) White in St. Joseph, MO. Deanna attended North Platte Elementary School and later Platte County High School. She then attended William Jewell College in Liberty, MO.

Deanna worked as a cardiology Technician at Spelman Hospital in Smithville and St. Mary’s Hospital in Kansas City and Blue Springs. She was most proud of being a mother to her 5 children, and a Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She joined the Camden Point Baptist Church when she was 9 years old and later transferred her membership to the First Baptist Church of Smithville. Deanna was also a 4-H Member, Smithville Elementary School PTA where she served as President from 1968-1969, was a TOPS organizer and leader in 3 Chapters, attended the Jerry Litton’s 6th District Congressional Club trip to Washington, D.C., and was a Kansas City Royals fan, attending a World Series Game in 2015.

Deanna was preceded in death by her son Brian Boydston; grandson Brian Tyler Boydston; her parents Dee and Blanche White; and her siblings and their spouses Martha and MackWilson, Maxine and Judson Davis, JR White, Herman and Jeanee White and Naomi and Buddy Johnson; brothers-in-law Joel Boydston and John Boydston.

Randolph N. Sparks, 79, formerly of Troy, Kansas passed away June 22, 2025, in Lawrence, Kansas.

Randy was born on January 2, 1946, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Raymond and Isabel (Rice) Sparks.

Gail A. Schmitz, 68, of Holton, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025 at her home.

She was born December 3, 1956 at Seneca, the daughter of George and Constance Engelken Hermesch. &nbsp;She attended Kelly Grade School and Graduated from Nemaha Valley High School in 1974. &nbsp;She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Education from Emporia State University.

Gail had taught Kindergarten through 9th grades at Wetmore, Jackson Heights, Effingham and Oskaloosa.

Gail enjoyed sewing and quilting in her retirement. &nbsp;She made baptismal gowns, baby blankets, and quilts for all of her grandchildren. &nbsp;She enjoyed playing cards with friends and her favorite evenings were spent gathered around the table at the farm, playing games with her family. &nbsp;She made a point of being at events for her children and grandchildren. &nbsp;She spent her weekends making sure that her family knew that she supported them at sporting, church, and school events. &nbsp;Gail relied on her faith and was known for keeping St. Padre Pio’s “Pray, hope, and don’t worry!” in her kitchen as a reminder to place her worries with the Lord. &nbsp;She was a loving and giving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, who always put others first. &nbsp;She will be missed by her many friends and her cherished family.

She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton, where she served as a Lector and a Eucharistic Minister. &nbsp;She was also a member of the Altar Society at the church and the Beck-Bookman Book Club.

She married David Schmitz on July 9, 1977 in St. Bede’s Catholic Church at Kelly. &nbsp;He survives, of the home.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Don Hermesch.

Candace Rivera-Rutty, 56, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025.

She was born November 24, 1968 to Garth and Virginia (Ruelan) Rutty on a U.S. Air Force Base in the Philippines. She grew up in many places where her father as stationed, including the Philippines, Jamaica, Spain, and Florida.

She was a medical transcriptionist for many years, and became a lifelong learner.

Candace enjoyed singing, playing music, and dancing. She liked to tell jokes and was stubborn, but in a loving way.

She loved her daughter Mary and was very proud of the woman and mother she’d become. Her biggest regret in life was not getting to know her daughter, Cassandra, but Candace loved her very much as well.

Candace was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Reggie Rutty; and sister, Linda L. White.

Survivors include her father, Garth Rutty; her mother, Virginia Ruelan; her children, Mary McFadden (Ryan Lawhon), Cassandra Young, and “bonus” children, Barry and Denise White; grandchildren, Christopher Rutty, Christian Howard Rutty, Kellin Sherer, Ameila Rutty Lawhon, I’Yana, Tanaya and Tashawn Young, Allison White and Brody Lopez; great-grandchildren, Addilynn Dawn Lopez and Violet Lynea Lopez.

Harry Blaine Weeks, Jr. (HB) of Leavenworth passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born on March 13,1944 in Leavenworth, Kansas.

&nbsp;He is survived by his loving wife, Jeannette Davidson Weeks and his two sons Harry Blaine Weeks III (Merry) of Basehor and Jeff Weeks (Wendy) of Olathe. &nbsp;HB was known as Papa to his four grandchildren Chelsea Weeks Meiller (Stephen), Riley Weeks, Bailey Weeks (Anslea) and Sydney Weeks. He had two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Nora Meiller. His sister Linda Weeks Blust (Ray) of Parkville, Mo, sister-in-law Karin Davidson Jackson (Leon) of Leavenworth, two nephews and five nieces.

HB was preceded in death by his parents Harry B. Weeks, Sr and Ola Pridgeon Weeks,&nbsp;sister Melissa Weeks Matthes, sister-in-law Trudy Davidson Leavitt, brother-in-law Jerry&nbsp;Leavitt and niece Jennifer Jackson.&nbsp;

After graduating from Leavenworth High School, HB attended Kansas State University for one year, he served 6 years with the Kansas Air Guard. &nbsp;While working at Leavenworth Floor Covering, he met and married Jeannette Davidson of Leavenworth. &nbsp;HB retired as a Department of the Army Civilian after 30 years of service as a graphic design artist, working on numerous projects and publications for the United States Army.&nbsp;HB was an active member of the community, serving as a city commissioner and Mayor&nbsp;for the city of Leavenworth. His love of sports and community led him to coaching&nbsp;numerous basketball, soccer, football, hockey and baseball teams. Many trophies were&nbsp;won by Team Spartan.&nbsp;HB and Jeannette were married 60 years in March. They joined with their children and&nbsp;grandchildren to celebrate their love and life together.&nbsp;

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at the Riverfront Community Center, Women’s Room from 4:30 to 7:00. A private graveside service for the family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the In Time of Need Foundation, www.intimeofneedfoundation.org.

Harry Weeks Jr. March 13, 1944-June 17, 2025

Margaret Lucinda (Troxel) Hinderks, 90, of Maysville Missouri, was called home on June 18, 2025. Margaret was born August 6th, 1934, in the rural Weatherby home of her parents William Bruce and Clotilda (Gunderson) Troxel. She joined her two older brothers Charles Bruce and Gustav William and 5 years later brother Richard Eldridge joined the family.

Margaret grew up attending Crabil School, a one room schoolhouse until she began attending Maysville High School where she graduated in 1952. On April 17, 1954, Margaret was united in marriage to Roger Blair Hinderks at Bethel United Methodist church. After marrying they moved to Olathe, Kansas while Roger was on active duty with the US Navy at the Olathe Naval Air Station. After Roger left the Navy they moved to a small farm near Amity, Missouri where they welcomed their first daughter Rachel Beth on December 17, 1965. They finally settled in July of 1967 at their beloved farm west of Amity in the Wood community where they welcomed their second daughter Amy Michelle on April 10, 1969. Margaret and Roger lived on their farm for over 55 years.

Margaret was very good with numbers and enjoyed working. After graduating from high school with her “work permit” in hand she started working at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City in the bookkeeping department. She worked there until going to work at the Johnson County Extension Center first as a secretary then as a bookkeeper. The day after returning to Amity from Olathe, she started working for E.S. Juda, Jr CPA and was there until 1965. Margaret then took time off from work to raise her daughters, but she did find a way to stay in the workforce, working in the basement of their home keeping the books for the J.L. Brown Lumber Co. in Maysville. In September of 1982 until February 2000 she worked for Glenkirk Farms in Maysville. While at Glenkirk she met several dear and cherished friends. After leaving Glenkirk Farms she worked part time at the Dekalb County Courthouse until she retired in 2004.

While raising her children Margaret was active in the local 4-H club as well as being a longtime youth and adult Sunday School teacher at the Amity United Methodist church. She enjoyed working with youth. Anyone knowing Margaret knew her faith was very important to her. While growing up, her family attended Bethel United Methodist Church where she was baptized, converted and was a lifelong member. Margaret raised her family attending the Amity United Methodist Church.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Roger; her parents, Bruce and Clotilda; brothers, Charles Bruce, Gustav William and Richard Eldridge; niece, Christina; and sister in law, Carol (Charles).

She is survived by her daughters, Rachel Beth Fritz of Cypress, Texas and Amy Michelle (Mike) Byfield of Stuart FL, as well as 4 grandchildren, Hannah Nicole and Hunter Blair Fritz of Cypress Texas, Carter Blair and Duke Michael Byfield of Stuart Florida. Margaret also has 2 surviving sister in-laws, Nedra (Gustav), Lois (Richard) and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Turner Family Funeral Home in Maysville. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Stewartsville.Family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.

Margaret Hinderks August 6, 1934-June 18, 2025

Iona Lorene (Boyer) Wigger of Bixby, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 14th, 2025.

She was born March 9th, 1939 to John “Jack” and Lillian Boyer in Easton, MO. Iona graduated from Easton High School in 1957 and went on to St. Joseph Junior College where she graduated with an associate’s degree. Iona loved school but took breaks from college to raise her children. She attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO and Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS, eventually graduating from Pitt State with a bachelor’s degree in Communication in May of 1996.

Iona married H. Wayne Wigger November 9th, 1962. They had three children; Erik, Jared, and Joetta.

Iona was a stay-at-home mom, raising her three children while being active in her community, no matter the town they lived in. This included homes in Omaha, NE, Maryville, MO, Healy, KS, and Girard KS. After Wayne passed away in February of 2000, Iona worked at the Crawford County Health Department for a few years before retiring and eventually moving to Bixby, OK.Iona was very active in her grandchildren’s lives. From going to their games, taking them on excursions, and teaching them about the love of Christ, Iona had a heavy influence on them. She loved to play the piano and people loved to hear her play it, even up until the end of her life.Iona was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister Freida, and four brothers Gerald, Dale, Lloyd, and Ernie.

Iona is survived by her son Erik and his wife Lisa of Liberty, MO; son Jared of Okeechobee, FL; daughter Joetta Cox and her husband Matt of Bixby, OK; granddaughter Halli Weinmann and her husband Colton of Willard, MO; granddaughter Lauren King and her husband Nathan of Lawrence, KS; granddaughter Cheyenne Sells and her husband Sam of Mobile, AL; grandson Hunter Cox and granddaughter Karsen Cox, six great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Iona Lorene (Boyer) Wigger of Bixby, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 14th, 2025.She was born March 9th, 1939 to John “Jack” and Lillian Boyer in Easton, MO. Iona graduated from Easton High School in 1957 and went on to St. Joseph Junior College where she graduated with an associate’s degree. Iona loved school but took breaks from college to raise her children. She attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO and Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS, eventually graduating from Pitt State with a bachelor’s degree in Communication in May of 1996.Iona married H. Wayne Wigger November 9th, 1962. They had three children; Erik, Jared, and Joetta.Iona was a stay-at-home mom, raising her three children while being active in her community, no matter the town they lived in. This included homes in Omaha, NE, Maryville, MO, Healy, KS, and Girard KS. After Wayne passed away in February of 2000, Iona worked at the Crawford County Health Department for a few years before retiring and eventually moving to Bixby, OK.Iona was very active in her grandchildren’s lives. From going to their games, taking them on excursions, and teaching them about the love of Christ, Iona had a heavy influence on them. She loved to play the piano and people loved to hear her play it, even up until the end of her life.Iona was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister Freida, and four brothers Gerald, Dale, Lloyd, and Ernie.Iona is survived by her son Erik and his wife Lisa of Liberty, MO; son Jared of Okeechobee, FL; daughter Joetta Cox and her husband Matt of Bixby, OK; granddaughter Halli Weinmann and her husband Colton of Willard, MO; granddaughter Lauren King and her husband Nathan of Lawrence, KS; granddaughter Cheyenne Sells and her husband Sam of Mobile, AL; grandson Hunter Cox and granddaughter Karsen Cox, six great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, June 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Freeman Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, Easton, MO.In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Gideons International and the American Stroke Foundation.<figure>

Cynthia Anne “Cindy” Kersley, 69, of Atchison, KS died on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at her home after a fight with cancer.

Cindy was born on Feb 11, 1956, in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Milton and Louise (Weir) Chew. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1974. She attended Bethany College for two years and the University of Kansas for a year and a half. Cindy had worked in various places and positions including as a probation officer for Atchison Community Corrections. Cindy enjoyed swimming, as a teenager she was a member of the YMCA Swim Team and enjoyed teaching younger kids how to swim. She was a lifeguard at the Lion’s Pool for many years. Cindy was a member of the 1973 Atchison High School Volleyball State Championship Team and played for 2 years at Bethany College. Cindy was a former member of PEO and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Michael Kersley, Atchison, two daughters Megan (Chris) Lilley, Bonner Springs, KS, and Amy (Justin) Cline, Topeka, KS, six grandchildren Max and Ian Lilley, Lennon, Harper, Rumi, and Rosalyn Cline and a brother Donald (Sally) Chew, Lake Quivira, KS. Her parents preceded her in death.Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 27th, 2025, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Elizabeth Carr officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance and may be sent in care of the funeral home.<figure>
