Marion Broxterman, 81, of Mayetta, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
He was born June 8, 1944, at Baileyville, the son of A.J. and Helen Nolte Broxterman. He was the tenth of fourteen children. He graduated from Seaman High School in 1963 and served in the U.S. Navy in Honolulu, Hawaii, and Long Beach, California.
Marion managed the Sutton Grocery Store in Topeka before moving to Florida, where he was in grocery store management as well.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Spain Carver; this November would have marked 61 years of their marriage. Other survivors include two daughters, Dawn Broxterman, Kannapolis, NC, and Tammy Sharp, Delia, KS; a son, Brian Broxterman (Silke), Obertshausen, Germany; six grandchildren, Kevin, Ryan, Jeremy (Nellja), Rachel (Glenn), Cheyenne, and Joshua; and four great-grandchildren, Hailey, Alicia, Henry, and Daphne.
Marion is most remembered for his love of jokes and pranks, always wanting to put a smile on everyone's face, especially his wife's.
Inurnment with military honors will be later in the Muddy Creek Cemetery, with arrangements by Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt.
