Floyd Phillip Vice, Jr. was born April 27, 1966 and passed away after complications from surgery on December 13, 2024.

Phillip grew up in Stockton, Missouri where he graduated high school. He had many jobs over the years but began working for the United States Postal Service in 1996 and was the current Postmaster in Savannah, Missouri.

He married Karen Vice on January 11, 1991 and instantly became the best bonus dad to three children before completing their family with a fourth child in 1997.

Phillip enjoyed deer hunting, snagging for spoonbill and the annual fish fry. He was always ready to help the kids and grandkids with any project they had.

He is survived by his wife Karen Vice of the home; children Nicholas (Ashli) Hayes of Kansas City, MO, Chassie (Joseph) Abbott of Kansas City, MO, Danielle (Joseph) Binggeli of Manhattan, KS, Morgan Vice of Kansas City, MO; mother Nettie Hansen of Stockton, MO; brother Jason Neal of Kansas City, MO; sisters Sandra (Randy) Hawn of Pleasant Valley, MO, Sonya Daugherty of Olathe, KS; grandsons Isaac, Priest, Maddox, Avery, Rex; granddaughter Lillian, numerous nieces and nephews and so very many friends.

The family will host a celebration of Phillip’s life on Saturday, December 28th at The Trimble Community Center in Trimble, MO from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

Esther J. DeVault, 85, of Graham, MO passed away on Monday, &nbsp;December 16th, 2024 in Maryville, MO. She was born in Watson, MO on August 22, 1939 to Gilbert &amp; Minnie (Howard) Stoner. She graduated from Craig High School in 1957. She married Kenneth DeVault in Craig, MO on February 22, 1958 and he preceded her in death.&nbsp;

Esther enjoyed singing, playing guitar, baking pies, gardening, and canning.

Survivors include her children, Kenna (Michael) Toombs of Conception Junction, MO, Kevin (Kathy) DeVault of Graham, MO, and Kim (Kent) Renfro of Nixa, MO; grandchildren, Cody (Nikki) Toombs, Keri (Marshall) Talley, Klay DeVault, Kennedy Renfro, Zachary Renfro, and Elle Renfro; great-grandchildren, Julian Talley, and Carmela Talley. &nbsp;She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and one sister.

Ila "Joanie" Borkowski, 66, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024 at Mosaic Life Care. She was born November 27, 1958 in St. Joseph. 

She married Steven Borkowski, who preceded her in death. &nbsp;Joanie spent many years working for Pizza Hut where she managed several stores over the years. 

She was preceded in death by husband, Steven Borkowski, mother and step-father Mable Lee, father, Lilbourn Wood, siblings, Maxine Loftis and James Hugh Lee.

James (Jim Bob) Robert Cordonnier, 76, Faucett, Missouri passed away December 13, 2024, at home. He lived in Faucett since 1973 moving from St. Joseph, Missouri. He was born on August 16, 1948, to James Robert and Norma Lavone Cordonnier. 

Jim Bob graduated from Benton High School. He was a dedicated supporter of the IBEW as a master electrician working primarily at Schultz electric. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and taught electrical courses at Hillyards Technical School. He was also an expert trap shooter, winning many competitions to include earning the Missouri state title. He was a selfless father known for his generosity to friends. He loved boating, skiing, and fishing on Lake Contrary where he grew up.&nbsp;He married Anita Canterbury-Todd, November 10th, 1973, St. Joseph, Missouri. 

He is survived by his wife, his mother Norma Cordonnier, two sons, Ricky Todd (Martha), and Timothy Cordonnier; a daughter Rhonda Tuck (Brad), 7 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren and a sister Diana Myers. 

He was preceded in death by his father James "Corky", and a sister Patricia King. He dedicated his life to the people that he loved, always ensuring that family came first. He was dearly loved.

 He will be cremated under the care of the Rupp Funeral Home. There will be a celebration of Jim Bobs life held this coming summer.

Jennifer Lynn Lamar, aged 65, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at her home in St. Joseph, MO. Born on April 22, 1959, in St. Joseph, MO, she was the daughter of the late Patricia and Robert Lamar. Jennifer, known affectionately as Jenny, graduated from Benton High School in the Class of '77 and went on to earn a degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology from Missouri Western State University.

Her career spanned several notable companies, including Stetson Hats, Altec, where she worked for 13 years, Snorkel, and Broderson Manufacturing, where she dedicated 12 years to Computer-Aided Drafting. Jenny had a passion for life, enjoying activities such as camping, cooking, baking, playing softball, and cheering for the Chiefs, Royals, and Mustangs. Her love for live music took her around the world, where she attended concerts and connected with her favorite artists and friends.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother, Bill Lamar, and sister, Nancy Lamar Pease, both of St. Joseph, MO, her brother, Timothy Lamar, and his partner Susan Wellford of Roeland Park, KS, her nieces, Carolyn Pease and Katie Lamar, as well as many extended family members and her close friend, Katie Morales. The family extends a special thank you to Katie Morales and the Schoenberger family for their care and love for Jenny.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 19, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7:00 PM, followed by the service at 7:00 PM at the Rupp Funeral Home, officiated by Chaplain Floyd Ferguson.

The Lord truly blessed the world on August 21, 1945, with the birth of Lois Louise Rogers in Hensley, AR, to George Roosevelt Perkins, Sr. and Arra Jane Boyd Perkins. Lois was the seventh of eighteen children.

Lois accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Bowen at Calvary Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS.

Lois graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, KS, in 1964. She also attended Donnelly College in Kansas City, KS, and Caster’s School of Beauty in St. Joseph, MO.

Lois worked at Old American Insurance Company in Kansas City, MO. When her husband was called to pastor the First Baptist Church of Elwood, KS, in 1972, she worked at Sherwood Medical Company, Fantastic Sam’s (where she was affectionately known as "Bittersweet"), and Chet’s Hairstyling, where she retired in 2016. Lois was a gifted and skilled cosmetologist who not only provided beauty services but also shared spiritual guidance, encouragement, counsel, and the goodness and faithfulness of God with her clients, who loved and respected her.

Lois served on the Elwood Board of Education and was an instructor and member of the Advisory Board at Vatterott College in St. Joseph, MO.

Lois married the love of her life, Rev. David James Rogers, on September 21, 1965. This union was blessed for 27 years until God called him home on February 24, 1992. Together, Lois and David had three beautiful daughters: Deneen, Nicole, and Davilyn.

For nineteen years, Lois stood by her husband's side with grace, dignity, and unwavering support as the First Lady of First Baptist Church of Elwood, KS. She was a sought-after speaker for Women’s Day programs and banquets in the local community and the Kansas City area. She also played an active role in the Minister’s Wives Auxiliary of the Northeastern District Association.

Lois was a passionate fan of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, as well as the Kansas City Chiefs. She also enjoyed watching tennis and golf. Her hobbies included traveling, sewing, drawing, cooking, and spending time with her beloved family.

God blessed Lois with a beautiful voice that she used to lead songs like “I Can Do All Things Through Christ That Strengthens Me,” “Show Some Sign,” and “Oh, Mary, Don’t You Weep,” to name a few. She loved singing with her sisters, The Perkins Sisters.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter (Davilyn), and siblings: George Perkins Jr., Garnice Hicks, Mae Bell Mitchell, Lethel Perkins, AB Perkins, Theola Perkins, and Delbra Greer-Spivey.

Her loving daughters, Deneen Rogers of St. Joseph, MO, and Nicole Rogers of the home, will cherish her memory, along with her precious grandchildren, Ecy Bullock, Jr. and Daelyn Bullock of St. Joseph, MO, who affectionately called her “Gran Gran”; and her pride and joy, great-granddaughter Greisyn Bullock of St. Joseph, MO, who lovingly called her “Gigi.” Lois will also be remembered by her siblings: Doris Davis (Frank) of Kansas City, KS, Margaret Hood of Kansas City, KS, Melbra Lewis of Kansas City, KS, and Henry Perkins of Kansas City, KS; Godson Tyson Page of St. Joseph, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Troy D. Head, 66, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024.

He was born February 28, 1958 Colorado Springs, Colorado to John and Rosemary (Horn) Head.

Troy married Betty Lynn Wangelin on October 8, 1983. She survives of the home.

He was a plumber for the St. Joseph School District for many years.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Betty; son, Shawn Daniel Head (Samantha); and four grandchildren, Jonathan, Christopher, Emery, and Adam.

Joseph Clayton Fisher, 60, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024.

He was born December 16, 1963 in Kansas City, Kansas, to Robert and Betty (Church) Fisher. Joseph was a graduate of Benton High School.

He had been a volunteer fire chief in Cosby, Missouri, and had worked at Stone Container, Northwest Missouri Psychiatric Hospital, and retired from the Missouri Department of Corrections in 2023.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Fisher and Betty Roberts; and stepfather, Earl Roberts.

Survivors include his children, Stacy Fisher and Matthew Fisher; six grandchildren; siblings, Robert A. Fisher, Tim Fisher (Nancy), and Tammy Anderson (Johnny); significant other, Leslie Alexander, and her children, Amanda Alexander (Oscar), Adam Alexander (Kyle), and Andrew Alexander (Amanda).

Joseph Clayton Fisher 1963  -  2024

Joyce Elaine Gastineau, 82, St. Joseph, MO., formerly of Hamilton, MO., passed away on December 14, 2024, in St. Joseph. Elaine previously also lived in Gallatin, MO., and she grew up in Breckenridge, MO., where she graduated from high school.

Elaine was born on July 15, 1942, in Ray County, MO., to William O. "Bill" and Waneta (Floyd) Hill.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Elaine had been employed as a deputy recorder for the Caldwell County, MO., Recorder of Deeds Office in Kingston, Mo., prior to moving to St. Joseph. She also worked for American Family Insurance and she and her husband owned the Koffee Kup Cafe in Gallatin for a number of years.&nbsp; In her spare time she loved to sew.

She was a member of the Hamilton Methodist Church, Hamilton, and the Huffman United Methodist Church in St. Joseph.

On January 23, 1960, she married Ron D. Gastineau. He preceded her in death in 2009. Elaine was also preceded in death by her parents, brother-Billy Don Hill, and her daughter-in-law-Sandra K. Gastineau.

Joyce Elaine Gastineau, 82, St. Joseph, MO., formerly of Hamilton, MO., passed away on December 14, 2024, in St. Joseph. Elaine previously also lived in Gallatin, MO., and she grew up in Breckenridge, MO., where she graduated from high school.Elaine was born on July 15, 1942, in Ray County, MO., to William O. "Bill" and Waneta (Floyd) Hill.&nbsp;&nbsp;Elaine had been employed as a deputy recorder for the Caldwell County, MO., Recorder of Deeds Office in Kingston, Mo., prior to moving to St. Joseph. She also worked for American Family Insurance and she and her husband owned the Koffee Kup Cafe in Gallatin for a number of years.&nbsp; In her spare time she loved to sew.She was a member of the Hamilton Methodist Church, Hamilton, and the Huffman United Methodist Church in St. Joseph.On January 23, 1960, she married Ron D. Gastineau. He preceded her in death in 2009. Elaine was also preceded in death by her parents, brother-Billy Don Hill, and her daughter-in-law-Sandra K. Richard Reece Rullman, widely known as “Pa”, 78, Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024.

He was born in Saint Joseph, Missouri on November 30, 1946, to Francis (Reece) and Richard D. Rullman.

Richard worked at Montgomery Ward’s for 33 years and many years as a capable and respected Service Advisor for Ford. His time in retail allowed him to foster numerous enduring friendships. A true people’s person, Richard's authentic charm and his ability to fix just about anything made him a beloved figure among colleagues and customers alike.

Married to his devoted wife, Nancy Rullman, Richard was a pillar of support, love, and guidance. Together, they watched their family tree flourish with their children: Stephanie Butler, Brad Rullman (Nichole), Tracy Sowell, and Tonya Butler (Dusty). His role as a grandfather was one he embraced with great joy, sharing his life and love with grandchildren Ryan (Nicole), Tyler, Tanner, Dakota, Andi (Travis), Zack (Chelsea), and Mac (Rachel). He was also a proud great-grandfather to Gannon, Brensley, Bryson, Paiten, Parker, Bre, Geo, Kohen, Knox, Nash, Finn, and Tate.

Beyond his family, Richard extended his love to his four-legged companions, his beloved furbabies Ollie and Stuart. Their presence brought additional warmth and affection to his home.

Richard's interests reflected his passions and values. He had a penchant for hunting. His love of nature often took him outdoors, where he found solace and joy. A car aficionado through and through, Richard was drawn to the freedom of the open roads and the beauty of mountainous terrains.

Richard was always ready with a story, advice, or a helping hand. His ability to remember every face and name was unmatched, making everyone he encountered feel respected and important.

Described by those who knew him best as wise, handy, and gentle, Richard was the go-to person in any situation. If something was broken, he could mend it; if there was a problem, he could solve it.

Richard's legacy is not just in the things he built, fixed, or the stories he shared, but also in the profound impact he had on the lives of those around him. Beatrice Darlene Aiken, 93, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024.

She was born on March 6, 1931, to Hurles Edward and Eva Jean (Weese) Mackley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter Whitmer Aiken, whom she married on March 8, 1955, and her brothers Bud, Marvin, Bill and Claude Mackley.

Beatrice leaves behind her daughter Cherri L. Aiken and her husband Chris Edwards, her 2 grandchildren Corie and Nathan Reynolds and 3 great grandchildren. Also is survived by her sister Jean Mackley Norman, her nieces: Amy McKinnon, Tracy Geoffroy, Marla Markham, Cathy Mackley and Lori Blackwell, her nephews: Brian Mackley, Scott Geoffroy, Tom Geoffroy and Steve Mackley as well as great nieces and nephews.

She was a resident of Living Community of St. Joseph, Missouri but she lived in Kansas City North most of her life. Her faith leaded her to become a member of the Northmoor United Methodist Church.

Beatrice was an AVID Kansas City Chiefs fan from the very beginning in 1963. Among her hobbies, she loved her yardwork and spent many hours tending her flowers, just like in her younger years you’d find her at the lake where she and Walt had a cabin. She would spend most of her days on the dock as fishing was another of her passions.

Beatrice devoted her life to her family, fulfilling her role as a homemaker with grace and dedication.

Kelly M. (Powell) Chard was born in Davenport, Iowa on May 7, 1969. She was one of two children of Gary and Gweneth (Cowan) Powell.

Kelly graduated from Rock Port High School then attended Wade College in Dallas for Marketing/Merchandising. Later she attended Metro Community College in Omaha for Artistic Welding, Iowa Western, and The University of Phoenix for Information Technology. Following Wade College, she returned to Rock Port where she raised three children. She was known as a great cook and a lover of dogs; for a time, she catered out of her house, and she owned and operated Red Star Deli in Rock Port.

Kelly passed on December 13, 2024 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha after a long battle with illness. She was surrounded by family and her closest, lifelong friends on her passing.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Amanda Powell of Auburn; son and daughter-in-law Joshua and Brooklynn Baughman of Rock Port; son and daughter-in-law Nate and Kelsey Chard of Rock Port; and daughter Lexi Chard of Auburn; two grandchildren, Jameson Chard and Bray Baughman; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

John Wayne Lamb, 71, of Smithville, MO passed away Saturday, December 14, 2024.

He was born on September 30, 1953, to Charles Albert and Dorthy (White) Lamb in Wagram, North Carolina. John grew up in Smithville and graduated from Smithville High School.

John worked for several car dealerships in the area before becoming owner of Autos Plus in Smithville until his retirement. After his retirement he enjoyed running his beagles. John was an avid sports fan and coached his sons in youth baseball for many years. Most of all he loved attending his grandchildren’s activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Lamb and Dorthy Lamb; his step-mother Vita Lamb; his grandparents who raised him Ellis and Byrda Baker; brothers Charlie Lamb, Al Lamb and Pete Lamb; his daughter Kimberly Lamb and the mother of his children Carol Lamb.

John is survived by his significant other Linda Day; his sons Lance Lamb and wife Ryann and Scott Lamb; grandchildren Tyler, Brody, Tanner, Lacey; step-grandchildren Cameron and Brody; honorary granddaughter Daisy; great-grandchildren Kaedon and Delilah; sisters Cheryl Lamb and Linda Cooke; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Brian Larry Williams, 67 of rural Stewartsvile, MO went to be with the Lord on December 13, 2024 surrounded by his loving family, after a 4 year battle with glioblastoma. Brian was born on September 30, 1957 to Larry Park and Mary Alice (Hickman) Williams in St. Joseph, MO. He grew up on the family farm in rural Stewartsville. Brian was a member of Bethany Christian Church growing up. Brian attended school in Gower, graduating from East Buchanan High School in 1976. He went on to attend Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly, MO. It was at Central that he met his future wife, Becky Jarrell, also a student. Brian and Becky were united in marriage on August 5, 1978 in Kansas City. Brian graduated from Central Christian College on May 8, 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry. In August of 1981 Brian and Becky welcomed their only child, Trisha, into the world. Brian then went on to attend Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, graduating on May 31, 1986 with a Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Care and Counseling. Brian started his ministry serving at several small congregations, including Liberty Christian Church, Cairo, MO, Blue Springs Christian Church, Blue Springs, MO and First Christian Church of Pattonsburg, MO. In September of 1987 Brian started his full time ministry at Community Christian Church in St. Joseph. Brian faithfully served the congregation at Community for over 34 years before retiring due to his health. Along with his role as a full time minister, Brian was a police chaplain with the St. Joseph Police Department. He was also a licensed funeral director for the state of Missouri, serving part time at several area funeral homes, primarily Clark-Sampson in St. Joseph.

Brian was fiercely dedicated to his family and was a devoted son to Larry and Mary. He enjoyed a close relationship with his sister Tammy, as well as his many cousins and extended family growing up. Brian and Becky were the perfect team, serving together in all aspects of the ministry. Beck was always there cheering him on and supporting him in all aspects of his life, and being a devoted care-giver when his health failed. Brian took the greatest pride in being a dad and grandpa. His daughter, Trisha, he would say, was the “apple of her ole dads eye” and they were the best of friends. When he became a grandpa to Natalya, Parker and Jace, that was his favorite role yet. He was the best Papa who adored spending any adventure he could find with his 3 grandkids, and he found a lot. Brian had a servants heart and spent his whole life serving others, often going above and beyond to assist anyone with their physical or spiritual needs. He loved sports, especially loved attending Mizzou football and basketball games over the years with friends and family. He loved vacationing to the mountains, specifically Bear Tooth Pass, and to the beach on South Padre Island. He enjoyed countless shared meals with great friends, and cherished time spent on the family farm. Brian will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but we rejoice that he is now with his Savior. 2 Timothy 4:7- I have fought the fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Brian Larry Williams 1957 - 2024

Kenneth A. Winder, 73, of Troy, Kansas went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 15, 2024, surrounded by family at the Maple Heights Nursing &amp; Rehabilitation Center.

Kenneth was born on September 16, 1951, in Troy, Kansas to John David and Leora Louise (Holcomb) Winder. He preferred to be called Ken but never complained at any name people gave him, just as long as he wasn’t called late to supper. &nbsp;

He was a member of the Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church, St. Joseph, Missouri and a former member of the First Baptist Church, Troy, Kansas, where he was baptized on December 31, 1961. He was a deacon at both churches, for 10 years and 11 ½ years, respectively. Kenny graduated Troy High School in 1969 and earned his BS degree in mathematics from Missouri Western, with a brief career in education, then moved on. He worked at Pascoe Building Systems, and when they closed in Wathena, he began his stint at Artcrafts and Engraving. From there he went to Oxley Printing and NPG in the prepress department, until that department was eliminated. He wasn’t old enough to retire, so he became a para at Troy Grade School for Doniphan County Special Education, where he was known as Mr. Ken. For several years, he also was the janitor for First Baptist and Doniphan County Home Health in Troy. Kenny retired in May of 2017. In May of 2018 he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, and an autoimmune, Sjogren’s. He handled both with much grace and he never complained. Kenny loved nature and God’s creation, and he was a good steward of both. He especially loved God’s word and was a student of it. He lived his life for Jesus, and always did his work, as unto the Lord. &nbsp;God first, family and friends second, and Kenny always came last. He took painting classes in 1983, where he developed a love for painting. &nbsp;He painted various pictures for family and friends.

Kenny married Virginia Winkel on September 6, 1981, in Troy, Kansas. She survives of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Winder and Leora Winder Trant, stepfather, Chester Trant, mother and father in -law, Don and Anna Marie Winkel, brothers, Robert and James Winder and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gene Shelton, Barbara Winder, Mary and John Marriott, Mike Hegarty and a niece, Mendi Marriott.

Kenneth A. Winder, 73, of Troy, Kansas went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 15, 2024, surrounded by family at the Maple Heights Nursing &amp; Rehabilitation Center.Kenneth was born on September 16, 1951, in Troy, Kansas to John David and Leora Louise (Holcomb) Winder. He preferred to be called Ken but never complained at any name people gave him, just as long as he wasn’t called late to supper. &nbsp;He was a member of the Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church, St. Joseph, Missouri and a former member of the First Baptist Church, Troy, Kansas, where he was baptized on December 31, 1961. He was a deacon at both churches, for 10 years and 11 ½ years, respectively. Kenny graduated Troy High School in 1969 and earned his BS degree in mathematics from Missouri Western, with a brief career in education, then moved on. He worked at Pascoe Building Systems, and when they closed in Wathena, he began his stint at Artcrafts and Engraving. From there he went to Oxley Printing and NPG in the prepress department, until that department was eliminated. Norma Gertrude Zabel was born on May 21, 1932, in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Tull) Zabel. She attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School and Atchison High School. Norma worked many different places since the age of 13 including the former Hilligoss Greenhouse, Hilligoss Grocery Store, Kresge’s, Fitz Overall Factory, Whitaker Cable Co, St. Joseph, MO and then Saunders Mop Factory for over thirty years retiring in 2002, as a serger. Norma was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church serving as a member of Mary’s Circle, Stephen’s Ministry, as a Kennedy Evangelism Caller, taught Sunday School for many years, and served on the Altar Guild. She was also a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She was married to Bernard Pyles on Dec. 5, 1948. Mr. Pyles preceded her in death in July 1969. She was later married to William “Bill” Dame for 20 years before they were divorced. Survivors include a son Paul (Tammy) Pyles Rushville, MO, four stepchildren Rick Dame, Atchison, Ronnie Dame, Omaha, NE, Kathy Elias, and Janet Chapman both of Atchison, KS, a sister Mary Elizabeth Miller, Arizonia City, AZ, two granddaughters, Jennifer (Bryan) Lentz, Atchison and Paula (Ryan) Halling, Atchison, KS, and four great grandchildren, Landon and Leah Lentz and Emma and Rylee Halling. Jay Alan Gould 67, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024 at his home. He was born July 1, 1957 in St. Joseph, son of Margie and Roy Gould. 

He graduated from Lafayette High School, class of 1975, and attended Platt Business College. Jay was a longtime cook at Perkins Restaurant. He enjoyed bowling and watching football, especially the Green Bay Packers. 

Jay was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Janice Hoye. 

Survivors include: son, Anthony (Brandi) Lopez of St Joseph, brother, Jack (Cindy) Gould of Savannah, MO, grandchildren, Destinee, Dallis, Dominick Lopez, brother-in-law, Steven Hoye of New River, AZ, and several nieces and nephews.

Shawn Michael McBride 44, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Thursday December 12, 2024 at the Liberty Hospital. He was born May 21, 1980 in St. Joseph, Missouri. 

Shawn graduated from Central High School, enjoyed working at Mosaic Life Care as a greeter, and was an avid St. Louis Rams fan. He enjoyed sitting outside on nice days, listening to his police scanner where he learned every street and cross street in St. Joseph, and watching his favorite TV shows. 

He was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Kay Garner and Uncles Thomas and David McBride. 

Survivors include his father, Michael (Kendal) McBride, St. Joseph, MO, mother, Sharon Davis, St. Joseph, MO, siblings: Chris (Becky) Gee, Belton, MO, Rhonda (Geoffrey) Gould, Lenexa, KS, Ginger (Patrick) McGuire, Maysville, MO,  nieces Bianca Gould, Gracie Garner, and Eisley McGuire and nephews Cody Garner and Owen McGuire, Aunts Carol and Evelyn McBride, and cousins Laura McBride and Colter Revels.

Douglas "Doug" Mehrer, 61, of De Kalb, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, in a Kansas City health care center. Born on August 23, 1963, in Omaha, Nebraska, Doug graduated from East High School in Iowa. He dedicated over 25 years of his career to working as a Conductor at Burlington Northern. A passionate fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, Doug also enjoyed spending his time fishing.

Doug was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Halverson, and his grandson, Braxton Meyer. He is survived by his daughters, Makayla R. (Zack) Meyer of Dearborn, MO, and Sammie Rogers of Kansas City, MO; his former spouse, Bridget Mehrer of De Kalb, MO; his grandchildren, Reagan Shelton, Tatum Laughlin, and Emmitt Meyer; his great-granddaughter, Huntley Bates; and his brother, Ron Mehrer of Omaha, NE.

Lloyd Wayne Jewett, 82, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024. He was born to Guy and Josephine Jewett on May 11, 1942, in Craig, Missouri. He graduated from Craig High School in 1960.

Wayne was a car enthusiast and worked as a service and detail manager, among other jobs. He also enjoyed watching sports, especially Kentucky Wildcats basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. 

Wayne's father called him Toughy when he was younger. That toughness served him well later in life. He had a giving spirit and was a friend to many.

Wayne is survived by his children, Marty Jewett, Chris Jewett, and Dianna Jewett; grandchildren, Jory Jewett (Leudy), Anthony LaMarche, and Meghan LaMarche (Daniel); great-grandchildren, Maria, John, Anna, and Barnabas Jewett; brother, Guy (Phyllis) Jewett; and sister-in-law, Kay Jewett.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Gene, siblings Colleen, Oliver, Harold, Joan, Shirley, and grandson Jeremiah. 

The family wishes to thank Mosaic Hospice and his caregivers at Abundant Acres Care and Rehab.

Rex Jones, 69, lost his fight with esophageal cancer and passed away on December 15th.&nbsp;

He was born on October 7th, 1955 to William O. and Betty J. Jones. He graduated from Central High School in 1974 where he had done wrestling and weightlifting. After that he attended Hobart Institute. He worked at Jones Plbg and Htg, Archdekin &amp; Jones Plbg and Htg, Jones and Son Plbg and was also the plumbing inspector for the city of St. Joseph.&nbsp;

He enjoyed bowling, shooting pool which he had been in several leagues, fishing, camping and boating on the Missouri River.

He married Cindy DeSpain on March 4th and for the short time they had together shared a lifetime of love.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter Charissa Michelle Jones. He is survived by his wife Cindy and siblings - Owen L. Jones (Pati), Francie R. Archdekin (Joe) - all of St. Joseph and Cecil W. Jones (Melinda) Dallas TX, children Crystal Linder (John), Cherie Thompson (Derek), Rex Jones II, Tiffany Stanton (Walt), Aaron DeSpain (Emmalee) and several grandkids, nieces and nephews and three great grand children.

A visitation for Rex will be held at Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel Wednesday, December 18th, from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. A Memorial Service will follow after the visitation.

Shirley Mae McDonell 1946 - 2024

Elizabeth Ann Burton, age 90, of Easton, Missouri passed away peacefully on December 12th, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert ("Bob") H. Burton, Jr., daughter Mary Ellen Burton, her parents Phillip and Mary (Harrington) Carmichael and sister Mary Frances Crouse.

She is survived by her daughters Martha Burton of Colstrip, Montana and Katherine (Tim) Morris of Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren Bridget Morris, Tom (Ashley) Morris, John (Alicia) Morris, Brian (Kait) Morris, and Michael (Tracie) Morris and eleven great-grandchildren.

Ann was born on September 25th, 1934. She was a lifelong resident of Easton and graduated from Easton High School. Ann and Bob were married in April of 1953. She was an avid gardener and reader. Ann loved history and took many trips with Bob to see places that were of significance to their family's past. She had fond memories of their trip to Ireland. She loved her farm and wished to preserve it for future generations. For many years, she served as the Democratic Committeewoman of Tremont Township. Ann was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Easton, Missouri, and member of the Altar Society. Ann will be remembered by family for her warmth, wit, her ability to "cook for an army" every time her grandchildren would visit, making the best dinner rolls, continuous lists and fierce loyalty to her family.

Services will be held Friday, December 20th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Easton, Missouri. Visitation and rosary will be at 10:00 A.M. followed by the funeral mass at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery at Easton, Missouri. Funeral luncheon will follow the service at the parish hall.

Elizabeth Ann Burton, age 90, of Easton, Missouri passed away peacefully on December 12th, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert ("Bob") H. Burton, Jr., daughter Mary Ellen Burton, her parents Phillip and Mary (Harrington) Carmichael and sister Mary Frances Crouse.She is survived by her daughters Martha Burton of Colstrip, Montana and Katherine (Tim) Morris of Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren Bridget Morris, Tom (Ashley) Morris, John (Alicia) Morris, Brian (Kait) Morris, and Michael (Tracie) Morris and eleven great-grandchildren.Ann was born on September 25th, 1934. She was a lifelong resident of Easton and graduated from Easton High School. Ann and Bob were married in April of 1953. She was an avid gardener and reader. Ann loved history and took many trips with Bob to see places that were of significance to their family's past. She had fond memories of their trip to Ireland. She loved her farm and wished to preserve it for future generations. For many years, she served as the Democratic Committeewoman of Tremont Township. Ann was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Easton, Missouri, and member of the Altar Society. Ann will be remembered by family for her warmth, wit, her ability to "cook for an army" every time her grandchildren would visit, making the best dinner rolls, continuous lists and fierce loyalty to her family.Services will be held Friday, December 20th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Easton, Missouri. Visitation and rosary will be at 10:00 A.M. followed by the funeral mass at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery at Easton, Missouri. Funeral luncheon will follow the service at the parish hall.<figure>

Shelley Logan, 52, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

She was born September 9, 1972 to Jerry and Elizabeth Jones in Sedalia, Missouri.

Shelley enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets and also loved woodworking.

Survivors include her significant other, Steve Rabinowitz; father, Jerry; children, Kimberly, Elizabeth, and her son.
