Rose M. Colwell, 78, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026.
She was born October 14, 1947 to Louis and Dorothy (Simpson) Geisendorf in Atchison, Kansas.
Rose devoted much of her life to nursing, a profession that reflected her caring nature and her desire to help others.
Outside of her work, Rose found joy in the simple and meaningful parts of life. She loved her cats and took great comfort in their companionship. She also cherished her children, who were among the greatest joys of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gene Geisendorf; and sister, Mary Skeels.
Survivors include her sons, Sean (Jacque), Michael, and Justin Colwell; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and numerous cousins.
Farewell Services 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 7, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 6, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
