Sandra J. Evans, 77, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026.
She was born August 5, 1948 in St. Joseph to Nelson and Ola Mae (Shirey) Wahlgren.
On August 20, 1972, Sandra married Donald J. Evans. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2008.
She was office administrator at Reed Sewer Service for 30-plus years.
Sandra was best known for her love of crocheting and crafting. Her skills matched that of any professional. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, watching Chiefs and Nebraska football, doing crossword puzzles, and watching Court TV, then discussing court cases with others. She loved her Southern Gospel music but wouldn’t hesitate to break out some classic country.
All who knew her knew that she wasn’t shy. She was a God-fearing woman who wasn’t afraid to speak her mind.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents; and siblings, Carl Roberts, Tim O’Neal, Charles McGee, Richard McGee, and Tom Bundy.
Survivors include her children, Rebecca Parker (Jeff), Jason Evans (Jennifer), David Edwards, and Richard Edwards; grandchildren, Ariana Beebe (Justin), Jeffery Parker, Zakary Parker, Javin Stevenson, and Brooklynn Evans; great-grandson, Bridger Beebe; and sister, Dolores Kane.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 7, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 6, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
