Michael E. O’Neill, 78, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026.
He was born August 30, 1947 to Robert Francis and Evelyn Halycon Ella (Scott) O’Neill in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Michael served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, a chapter of his life that reflected the deep patriotism he carried throughout his years. After his military service, he built a long and respected career as an independent truck driver for more than 50 years.
Outside of work, Michael enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life meaningful to him. He liked camping, old cars, going to the boat, and playing cards. He was also very patriotic, and his love of country was evident in the way he lived his life and carried himself each day.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Robert J. O’Neill, Peggy J. Weigelhofer, and Janice S. O’Neill.
He is survived by the love of his life, Anna Douglas, with whom he shared 13 cherished years. He is also survived by his first cousins, Terri Scott, Gail Bodde, Bill Scott and Sandra Bennett, along with a host of beloved multi-generational cousins.
