Robert Dean, 65, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 20, 2026.
He is now at rest with his mother, Roberta Sherwood, and his father, Clayton Dean, whom he loved so dearly.
Robert loved being outdoors every chance he could, whether it was spending time with his grandkids, attending baseball or soccer games, or gathering for family events.
His favorite role in life was being “Papa” — the silly, fun-loving Papa — and he embraced it wholeheartedly. He proudly told anyone who would listen, “Hey, I’m just Grandpa.”
Robert also had a deep love for fishing. Whenever he had the opportunity, he enjoyed taking his boat out on the Missouri River. He could often be found at Roaring River with a fly rod in hand — a place his family came to cherish as a second home each summer.
Robert was a loving, caring, and humor-filled man who adored his family deeply. He took great joy in making sure everyone was happy, especially during family dinners.
He will be truly missed by his daughter, Nicole Dean; his three sons, Kyle Dean, Koby Dean, and Andrew Bokay and their spouses; his brothers, Ricky and Eugene Dean; and his sister, Gail Specht.
He was a proud and loving Papa to his precious grandbabies: Vayda Fleck, Briona Bokay, Eli Dean, Braiden Bokay, Kayleigh Dean, Cruze Hall, Maxwell Dean, Kenady Dean, Mila Dean, Hugo Harris, Karley Dean, Major Smith, Makari Smith, and Kamora Lee.
Robert Always Said:
“Everybody happy”
“Oh well”
“I’m just grandpa”
“What about me”
“No Whammy’s”
“Go to the E.R., it will be cheaper on me”
“This ain’t Burger King, get it yourself”
“Slow, Stay, Relax”
