Carol “Mabel” Gorman, 82, Maryville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
She was born on April 26, 1943 to Harry and Thelma (Smith) Demott in Sheridan, Missouri.
Those who knew her will remember her as someone who always liked to have a good time, and who found happiness in the simple pleasures of life and the company of others.
Mabel was a really good cook, and her kitchen was often a place where love was expressed through the meals she prepared.
She also enjoyed playing cards, and those games were often filled with laughter, friendly competition, and cherished memories.
Mabel loved tea, and it was one of the many simple comforts that brought her happiness. A cup of tea was often more than a drink to her, as it represented a quiet pause, a chance to reflect, and a moment to enjoy life at a gentler pace. She also loved George Strait, and his music was among the favorites that added to the soundtrack of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Donald.
Survivors include her children, Carrie Gorman, Brad Gorman (Molly), Todd Gorman (Andi), Lynette Gorman and Farrah Faries (Randy); grandchildren Justin Gorman (Natalie), Polly Pfeifer (Ryan), Mitchell Gorman, Destinee Hoffman, Keisha Journagan (Levi), Dalton Clark (Karlei), Makayla Faries, Abby Faries and Gracie Faries and 5 greatgrandchildren.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and in the many stories that will continue to be told about her life.
