Marie D. (Inojos) “Lola” Gasper, age 90 of Atchison, KS, died peacefully on October 1, 2024 at Mosaic Life Care.&nbsp;

Mass of Christian burial will be on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Atchison, with Rev. Meinrad Miller, OSB as celebrant. A rosary will be at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home on Monday, Oct. 21st at 6:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Benedict Parish. Cremation care has been entrusted to the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.&nbsp;

Lola was born on September 21, 1934, in Leavenworth, KS, the daughter of Joseph Inojos and Carmen (Gutierrez) Inojos. She graduated from Immaculata High School. Shortly after graduation she moved to Atchison and started working at Kresge’s in Atchison where she met Gilbert. They united in marriage on July 28, 1956, and shared over sixty-six years of marriage before his passing on August 22, 2022. Lola devoted her life to her family as a wife, mother, homemaker and then grandma. She loved going dancing with Gilbert in their younger years. Lola also enjoyed walking in the mornings with her friends, Mrs. Dolly Hiner and Mrs. Helen Lopez. When Daylight Donuts came to Atchison, they walked to the donut shop and that’s where you would see them every morning. When Gilbert retired, he joined them but they rode instead. Lola looked forward to every summer when her two grandsons from Texas would come to spend the summer with her and Gilbert. To date these grandsons still love going to the donut shop.&nbsp;

She is survived by her children, a daughter, Lisa Vargas, Fort Worth, TX; two sons, Jim (Karen) Gasper, Bonner Springs, KS, Anthony “Tony” Gasper, Atchison, KS; one brother, William (Betty) Inojos, Leavenworth, KS; six grandchildren, Ricky Gasper, Lance Gasper, Nico Gasper, Kyler Vargas, Keegan Vargas, Doug Landrum; and four great grandchildren, Octavian Gasper, Roman Gasper, Eli Gasper and Katelyn Landrum.&nbsp;

Lola was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert; her parents, a daughter-in-law, Brenda Gasper; and a son-in-law, Ben Vargas.

Esther Mae Flohrs, 74, of Atchison, Kansas, met her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 16th, 2024, at Amberwell Atchison while surrounded by family.

Esther was born on June 15, 1950, to Alvin and Susan (Payton) Eylar. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1968. She married Jim Kahl in 1968, then divorced in 1977. Esther was remarried to Paul Flohrs in 1982, was separated in 1983, and later divorced. Esther was proud to work for the Missouri Pacific Railroad and Fox-Vliet Drug Company. She also worked various other positions before settling into her career in 2001 at Citibank, where she retired in December 2012. Throughout her life, Esther was a devout Christian. Esther was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church congregation in Atchison and participated in Bible Study Groups in her assisted living home. She firmly and passionately believed in God and ensured her children knew God as well. Esther fiercely loved her children and grandchildren and supported them unwaveringly. Of all her accomplishments, she was most proud to be called Grandma.

Esther is survived by her mother, Susan Eylar; her children, Kassie Fedrick and Rob Beaman, Melody and Travis Breeden, Angela and Scott Davison, and Katherine Long; her grandchildren, Lauren Fedrick and Landen, Hudson, Bennett, and Grayson Breeden; and her siblings, LeRoy Eylar and Elana, Judith “Judy” Harris and Chuck, Eugene “Gene” Eylar and Terri, and Betty Sue Roth and Bryan. Esther was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Eylar, brothers Lewis and Alvin “Bud” Eylar, and sisters, Lawana Hanrahan and Alice Perry.

Donald Eugene Cox, 88, Amazonia, Missouri, passed away at home on Thursday, October 17, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones.

Don was born in Horton, Kansas, on July 21, 1936, to Jesse Paul and Viola (Keller) Cox. He graduated from Horton High School, then went on to serve his country in the United States Army. After being honorably discharged, Don worked for National Cash Register, in Saint Joseph, Missouri, for 25 years.

It was during this time, he met the love of his life, Peggy Ann LaHue. They were married on January 10, 1972.

In 1982, Don purchased a lumber mill in the hills of Arkansas, where he manufactured log homes until 2005. In 2007 he retired to Amazonia, Missouri, and spent his days working in his aronia berry fields, fishing, hunting, and golfing.

Don was raised to Master Mason in St. Joseph Lodge #78 in 1961. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite and Moila Shrine Temple. While in Arkansas, he joined Ashley Lodge #66, as a dual member, where he served as Master from 1997 to 2000.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul Frederick Cox and Jesse Floyd Cox; and son, Darren Cox.

Remaining to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Peggy Cox; sons, Donald R. (Kellie) Cox and Douglas (Mary) Cox, all of Saint Joseph; brother, Gary (Sandi) Cox, of Topeka, Kansas; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Pappy"; and numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

Charles Anthony Rehm, 68, of Warsaw, MO passed away Saturday, October 13, 2024 at NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO after a brief illness.

Charles was born July 18, 1956 in St. Joseph, MO. He was the son of Helen Cobb Rehm and the late Thomas Rehm.

Charles was married to Lisa Schroeder on November 15, 1986. They celebrated more than 37 years of marriage.

Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend to many. He loved retirement and living at the lake. He enjoyed his boating and fishing, woodworking, and watching the Chiefs.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa, of the home; son Kyle (Chrissy) Rehm; sisters Linda (Raymond) Karleskint, Julie (Randy) Moran, Stacy (Jeff) Stevens and brother Mike (Cecilia) Rehm; granddaughters Jaycelyn Rehm, Braylyn Rehm, Haylyn Rehm, and several nieces and nephews.

William "Bill" F. Craig, 70, of St Joseph, Missouri passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at a local health care facility. He was born August 15, 1954 in Atchison, KS, son of Iris and Freddie Craig. 

Bill worked for many years in the Auto Body Repair Industry. He enjoyed watching the KC Chiefs and TV Westerns. He also enjoyed fishing and working in the garden, especially with his late wife Cyndi.

 Bill was preceded in death by wife, Cynthia Craig, his parents and brothers, Donald and Raymond Skeen. 

Survivors include daughters, Jennifer Oden of Atchison, KS and Rebecca (Terry) Schmidt of Nortonville, KS, son, Jamie Craig of San Antonio, TX, sisters, Iris (John) Martin of Boonville, MO, Judy (Gary) Weekly of Topeka, KS, Nancy (Willie) Christman of Wathena, KS, Ramona Hundley of Falls City, NE, Patricia Bittle of St. Joseph, and Jean Baker of Atchison, KS., several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces.

Mr. Craig has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home.

William "Bill" Frederick Craig 1954 - 2024

Laton Dean Allison, age 79, passed away on October 15, 2024, leaving behind a lifetime of laughs, lessons, adventures, memories and a legacy as big as his personality. 

      Born on October 27,1944 to Herbert and Helen Allison, Laton was a true original, known for his intelligence, quick wit, generous spirit, and occasional hot temper.

      He was predeceased by his parents, niece Becky Lindeman, nephew Scott Lindeman and cherished wife of more than 57 years, Janet Lee Allison, who he married on August 12, 1966, in the First Christian Church in Stanberry. He survived by his sister, Melba Gail Lindeman (Doug) and his beloved children Tracy Lee Boone (Tom) and Craig Tyler Allison (Marci). Laton was also the treasured “Gramps” to Sally Boone, Jane Boone, Henry Boone, Charlie Boone, and Joseph Allison. He was endlessly proud of the people his children and grandchildren grew up to be.

     After earning his civil engineering degree in 1962 from Missouri School of Mines (now Missouri S&amp;T), Laton began his career as a Flight Structures Engineer at Boeing Co. of Wichita, KS, working on the Boeing 737 airplane in 1965. In 1967, he joined the local Army Reserve Transportation Company and eventually transferred to the Missouri National Guard 129th field artillery Company A in Albany Missouri in 1968 and was discharged as an E-5 Sergeant in the fire direction unit in 1974. During that time, in 1969, he returned to his hometown to run Allison Concrete Products alongside his father. Allison Concrete Products was in business for 53 years and produced more than 66 million blocks before the two retired and sold the business in 2000. 

     Laton wasn’t very good at being retired and was always willing to step up when his community needed him, serving on the Board of Albany Hospital, Stanberry Board of Public Works, and Pine View Manor Board. He was a volunteer pilot for Angel Flights, flying families to visit their loved ones in hospitals, and the general contractor for the construction of the new Stanberry R-II School. Laton was a proud flight instructor, Cub Scout leader, Science Olympiad Tutor, lifetime member of the Stanberry Golf Course, Grand Marshall of the Fourth of July Parade, and one of the founding members of Wingnuts Flying Club. 

     Laton leaves behind a family who will forever miss his booming voice, spontaneous history lessons, and his fierce passion. His legacy of generosity, goofiness, and maybe just a bit of yelling lives on in every person whose life he touched. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten—after all, you don’t forget someone like Laton Allison.

Rose Hutchens, 70, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

She was born March 17, 1954 in St. Joseph to Calvin and Elsie (Dilly) Starling.

Rose married Norman Kerry Hutchens. They later divorced but remained friends.

She was an ornery, colorful, outgoing woman who loved music, especially the Beach Boys.

Rose loved her family and her dog, Fireball.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Bill and Vernon Starling.

Survivors include her children, Michelle Bruce and Kerry Norman Hutchens; grandchildren, Beonca, Brecken and Ariel Hobson, and Cort Norman Hutchens; great-grandchildren, Lee Ann Hobson, Mallory and Jada Sullivan; siblings, her twin brother, Jimmy, twins Linda and Wendell Starling, Randy Starling, Calvin Starling, and Sheila Boone; her former husband; numerous other extended family members and friends; her best friend, Sandy Thomas; and her beloved dog, Fireball.

Maysville, Missouri…Sharon Elaine Wade, age 68, was born December 26, 1955 the daughter of Duane and Anna Maureen Hunsaker in Fort Knox, Kentucky and went home to Jesus on October 15, 2024 while surrounded by her loved ones.&nbsp;

On October 5, 1974 she married Ronald Lynn Wade in Plattsburg, Missouri. Sherry worked many years for Casey’s General Store as the Area Supervisor until she retired in 2013. Sherry was the rock of her family, always there for her kids and grandkids no matter what. Always everyone’s biggest supporter, especially when it came to any sport they were involved in. When it came to her grandkids, they always knew how much their “Nana” loved them and telling them all “I love you Always and Always.” A huge piece of this family is now watching over them all.

Norman Glen Cook, Sr., 87, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

He was born July 25, 1937 to Levi L. and Lucille A. (Stigers) Cook in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Norman married Judy Ann Knadler on July 2, 1960.

He retired from the United States Army after proudly serving for 28 years.

He was a member of Harmony Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a Troop 25 Scout Master, and a Tribe of Mic-O-Say Honorary Warrior Star Travois.

Norman enjoyed spending his time square dancing with Judy. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Deborah Richardson; granddaughter, Caitlin Cook; siblings, Homer and Maxine Cook.

Ruby Warner, 96 of St. Joseph, Mo. peacefully passed away surrounded by family at her home on October 13, 2024; Ruby was the seventh of 9 children born to Carl and Elsie Stuart. She graduated from Rosendale High School before marrying John Warner in 1949. He preceded her in death in 1978, along with all of her siblings, her grandson Eric Christgen and son-in-laws William Healy and Jerry Ham.

Ruby had fourchildren, Dixie Ham, Vicki Christgen (Ed), Larry Warner and Janette Healy. Eleven grandchildren: Jason Ham (Cydney), Douglas Ham (Kristen), Dustin Ham (Miranda), Victoria Christgen, Tate Christgen (Lauren), Chris Christgen (Tammy), Brian Christgen, Katie Warner, Savannah Healy, Brianna Roppoli (Kevin), Emerson Healy and 13 great grandchildren.

Ruby's entire life was based on family. First with her Mother, Father and her 8 siblings. They were a very close, loving family for all of their lives. &nbsp; Ruby was always the happiest with a child running around her while she cooked. She absolutely loved cooking, especially big family meals. Her biggest smiles were being with her family with a baby on her lap. She beamed when she was with her grand and great grandchildren.

When Ruby was 90 she moved to Country Squire and immediately started making friends and mischief. It was a wonderful, loving environment with a wonderful staff and loving friends. She had many challenging health conditions and the residents and the staff helped her face them with love and assistance.

Her family especially wants to thank the Country Squire staff, Mark, Marisa, Velvet, Jace, Cassie and all the loving employees who offered a helping hand, kindness and love.

Also we want to thank all the Freudenthal Ladies, Jennifer E, Donna, Trina, Lisa and Tina for their many hours of service and love. We also are so thankful for the love and service Tammy, our private caregiver, gave her day and night. &nbsp;

Gregory David Lundry Sr., born on the 8th of March, 1961, died at the age of 63, in his home on October 7th, 2024. 

He was proceeded in death by his parents, David and Leota Lundry, and his two grandchildren, Ryan Parris and Jesse Potter. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Keri Lundry and his dearest sisters Sandy (Darrell) Coons and Regina (David) Pfeiffer.

Greg was a loving husband to his cherished wife Keri and devoted to their children: Tonja (Devon) Scott, Tara Lundry, Gregory Lundry, Melanie (Donald) Green, Sarah (Ron) Hazen, Amanda (Billie) Tippit, Andrew Chilson, Joshua (Kelley) Chilson and the granddaughter they raised together in their blended family, Gabriella Lundry.

Together they have 38 wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren. And many more nieces and nephews that have blessed their many long years together. 

Greg was not only an extremely dedicated man to his family, but that dedication and pride was also in his work. Through each step of his career, Greg formed deep connections, finding not just colleagues but lifelong friends who enriched his life. Greg’s warmth, humor, and loyalty left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege to know him.

He was always the one to have a smile on his face when he entered the room; someone who truly believed that no matter what, it would all be okay. He trusted in the faith he had for his family and friends with unconditional compassion. He will be dearly missed by all of those that were blessed to know him.

Agnes Marie (Dombrowe) Kiehnhoff, age 95, of Wathena, KS went to be with the Lord on October 14, 2024. Agnes was born on July 7, 1929, in Robinson, KS to Emil and Elise (Spiekerman) Dombrowe.

She was a life-long resident of Wathena. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Wathena. She was a member of Mary-Martha Circle and LWML.

Agnes married Henry Kiehnhoff, Jr., on September 16, 1950. &nbsp;To this union they were blessed with seven children.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a son Donald, her brother Frank Dombrowe, sisters Ann Nimtz and Elsie Ruhnke. 

She is survived by her children Carolyn (John) Wallace, Grapevine, TX; Kathy (Jerry) Lau, St. Joseph, MO; Nancy Foley, Wathena; Marcia (Rick) Stover, Grimes, IA; John (Joy) Kiehnhoff, Wathena; and Mark (Jackie) Kiehnhoff, Wathena; sisters Elizabeth Bahr, Wathena; Mary Howard, Marysville, KS. &nbsp;16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Reagen Scott Toews, 75, of Atchison, Kansas, passed away on Sat. October 12, 2024, at his home. Reagen quietly endured life with Parkinson’s for nearly 20 years.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 603 N 8th St., Atchison, KS 66002, with the Rev. Marty Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Trinity Episcopal Church Memorial Garden with the Rev. Jon Hullinger presiding. There will be no visitation. Reagen was born August 30, 1949, in Hutchinson, Kan., the son of Abraham (Abe) Willem Toews and Fern Esther Rickard. He attended public schools in both Hutchinson and Atchison, graduating from Atchison High School in 1967. Reagen initially worked construction with his father. After many years of experience in the trades, working alongside crews of men he enjoyed and admired, he built his own business using the good-natured motto, “We may be slow, we may be expensive, but gosh darn it, people like us. ”Reagen was a gentle giant who took pride in his work—touching many lives and buildings in northeast Kansas. He had a strong, quiet faith that offered guidance to many a young man who needed a father figure and a generous heart to those in need. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for nearly 50 years. Reagen enjoyed fishing, especially in his beloved Independence Creek, had a great sense of humour, and was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, old movies, classic rock, and scaring people. He was a stealth ninja when catching frogs, snakes, crawdads, and climbing out of hospital beds without permission.

Reagen and Kathleen (Katie) A. Corrigan were united in marriage at Trinity Episcopal Church, Atchison, Kan., and celebrated 25 years together in 2024. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include two sons, Levi (Jessica) Toews of Garden City, MO; Peter Corrigan of Denver, CO; one daughter, Rebecca Welch of Atchison; three siblings: Steve (Helga) Toews of Athens, AL; Kathleen (Don) Swanson, Shoreview, MN; and Christy Toews of Nortonville, KS; two granddaughters, Madison and Mackenzie Welch; five nieces and nephews; and beloved members of his extended Toews, Corrigan, and Cyr families. He was preceded in death by his parents.

After many years of experience in the trades, working alongside crews of men he enjoyed and admired, he built his own business using the good-natured motto, “We may be slow, we may be expensive, but gosh darn it, people like us. ”Reagen was a gentle giant who took pride in his work—touching many lives and buildings in northeast Kansas. He had a strong, quiet faith that offered guidance to many a young man who needed a father figure and a generous heart to those in need. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for nearly 50 years. Reagen enjoyed fishing, especially in his beloved Independence Creek, had a great sense of humour, and was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, old movies, classic rock, and scaring people. He was a stealth ninja when catching frogs, snakes, crawdads, and climbing out of hospital beds without permission.Reagen and Kathleen (Katie) A. Corrigan were united in marriage at Trinity Episcopal Church, Atchison, Kan., and celebrated 25 years together in 2024. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include two sons, Levi (Jessica) Toews of Garden City, MO; Peter Corrigan of Denver, CO; one daughter, Rebecca Welch of Atchison; three siblings: Steve (Helga) Toews of Athens, AL; Kathleen (Don) Swanson, Shoreview, MN; and Christy Toews of Nortonville, KS; two granddaughters, Madison and Mackenzie Welch; five nieces and nephews; and beloved members of his extended Toews, Corrigan, and Cyr families. Katelyn Mendoza, 27, of St Joseph, Missouri passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024 in Kansas City, MO. She was born August 17, 1997 in Kansas City, MO, daughter of DeDe Mendoza and Eugene Fanning. 

Katelyn attended Central High School. She was a free spirited girl, loved being around her family and her kids and enjoyed drawing and listening to music. She enjoyed her time working with Sisters of Solace. 

Survivors include mother, DeDe Mendoza of St Joseph, father, Eugene Fanning of St. Joseph, her 2 sons and 2 daughters, sisters, Chelseia Langley, Clarissa Mendoza, Celena Mendoza, sister, Juliannah Mendoza and brothers, Javier Mendoza and DreShon Mendoza, maternal grandmother, Karen Moppin, paternal grandfather, Robert &nbsp;Mendoza, Sr. and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Clarence Edward Burley 1953 - 2024

Russell Dale Teschner entered his eternal glory on October 14, 2024, after a sudden health issue in Cleveland, Ohio. Russ was born on November 23, 1952, to Clyde and Rufena (Judy) Teschner in St. Joseph, Missouri.

 He graduated from Benton High School in 1971, where he excelled in sports, was nicknamed "Bird," and met his wife, Gail Falkner. They married on May 10, 1974, and became the proud parents of Erik, Erin, and Nathan. Their log cabin home in Stewartsville was the site of many birthday parties and holiday gatherings. They also traveled in the family station wagon, embarking on vacations around the country.&nbsp;Russ accepted Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior as a young boy and was baptized on the same day as his mom at King Hill Baptist Church. He wholeheartedly believed the promise of Romans 10:9, "If you confess with your mouth 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." 

Over the years, Russ faithfully served at King Hill Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Stewartsville, and New Harvest Church.&nbsp;Throughout his life, Russ enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad, sons, brother Kent, nephews, and best friend Steve Rock, including yearly pheasant hunts in South Dakota. Russ also spent many hours cheering on his children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren at their sporting events and school activities. Hannah, Clay, Madison, Haidyn, and Teagan could count on “Papa Russ” to be in the stands. Russ worked most of his career at Quaker Oats then at Boehringer Ingelheim before retiring to Castalia, Ohio.

With his family and friends, Russ was known for his humor, wit, and rambunctiousness. Ask any of them, and they can tell you a Russ story. But they will also tell you how his gentle spirit encouraged and supported everyone around him. Russ will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, dad, grandpa, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Especially to his children and grandchildren, the example Russ set is one they will follow for the rest of their lives.

Russ was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jennifer Teschner, and brother Kent Teschner. 

Survivors include wife, Gail Teschner, of the home, their children Erik (Tiffani) Teschner, Erin Gardner, and Nathan Teschner, sisters Judy (Warren) Denney and Jayne (Tim) Ellis, sister-in-law Nancy Teschner, grandchildren Hannah Gardner, Clay Teschner, Madison Teschner, Haidyn Gardner, and Teagan Teschner, step-grandchildren Ben and Addy Schneider, and many nieces and nephews.

Faustino (Faust) C. Barbosa, 94, of Saint Joseph Missouri, peacefully passed away surrounded by family at his home on October 12, 2024.

Faustino was the fourth of 14 children born to Mauricio and Pachita (Cruz) Barbosa on February 15, 1930. He graduated from Christian Brothers High School and was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Antonia Fernandez on September 27, 1957 and she passed away in 2007.

He worked for Swift &amp; Company and later retired from the Gas Service Company.

He had 2 children, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild that he dearly loved.

He generously dedicated his time helping with several organizations in Saint Joseph, especially within the Latino community receiving numerous recognitions for his selfless service.

Faith and family were foremost, he was devoted to praying the rosary, attending Saint Patrick’s Church, and Mir House of Prayer. He was also a Communion Minister and volunteered for the Food Pantry. Faust was well known for his inviting conversations, sincere compassion, and infectious smile. He is proceeded in death by his beloved wife Antonia Barbosa, son Damacio “Don” Barbosa, grandson Zachary March, and brothers E.C. (Pelen), Merced, Rico, Jason Barbosa; sisters, Lupe Cathcart, Christina, Torres, Mary Helen White, Ruth (Cuca) Curtin, and Bernie Ceglenski; infants, Robert and Damacio.

He is survived by daughter Elizabeth Barbosa, grandchildren Nicholas Matt (Evelia), Amber Matt (Jim), Noah March, Jaselyn Barbosa, Olivia Barbosa (Kyler), and great grandchildren, Jimena Garcia (Robert), Damian Matt, Gage Matt, Jesse Mason Jr. (Kailey), Kymber Mason, Mia Matt, J March, and great-great-grandchild Violet, brother Jesse Barbosa (Wanda), sister Julia Burris, as well as many dearly loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Virginia Ruth McIntosh, 81, Trimble, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at North Care Hospice House. &nbsp;

She was born September 15, 1943 in Green Castle, Missouri to Emil and Flossie Ames.

Virginia married Eugene McIntosh in August 1990. He survives of the home.

She worked at Western Water Management for over 20 years. After that, she worked another 30 years in retail at Dillard’s and Macy’s.

Virginia enjoyed antiquing, camping, and spending time at their house by the lake in Warsaw, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary Young; and brother, Ed Ames.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene; son, George Jasper; daughter, Heide Wheaton; two grandchildren; sister, Linda Brasher; and two stepsons, Mike and Steve McIntosh and families.

Kenneth (Kenny) Lee Edie, born on February 3, 1950, in Highland, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home on October 13, 2024, in Robinson, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents Louise and Kenneth A. Edie, daughter Jenny Edie, sisters Connie Edie, Brenda Trainer, Kathy Leeper and his brother Gary Edie. He was a devoted husband to Glenda Edie and a loving father to his two sons, Mark and Adam. Kenny was a proud grandfather to Daylon and Jacob, who brought immense joy to his life.

Kenny served honorably in the Army and the National Guard, demonstrating his commitment to his country. He had a successful career as a machinist, where he was respected for his skills and work ethic. In addition to his professional achievements, he contributed to his community by serving in the honor guard and the voluntary fire department, showcasing his dedication to helping others.

Known for his kind and loving nature, Kenny had a remarkable ability to connect with everyone he met. He is survived by his wife Glenda, sons Mark and Adam, grandsons Daylon and Jacob, his brother Ronnie, and sister Mary. Kenny's warm spirit and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Charles Edward Broyles, 62, of Horton, Kansas passed away at the KU Medical in Kansas City, Kansas surrounded by his family on Sunday, October 13th, 2024.

Ed was born on November 3rd, 1961 in Louisville, Kentucky to John and Armanda (Throop) Broyles. He graduated from Salem High School in Salem, Arkansas in the class of 1979. Following graduation Ed joined the Army serving from 1980 to 1986, being stationed in Germany. After receiving his honorable discharge in 1986, he then later continued his work with the military working as a private contractor building generators overseas during Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom for the Air Force bases and various branches of the military. Ed was currently employed by Hiawatha Tire &amp; Lube in Hiawatha, Kansas for the past 8 years working as a tire technician, and operated the onsite service truck.

Ed and wife Karen, were joined in marriage on March 15th, 1997 at Mountain Home, Arkansas. Prior to moving to Horton, Kansas; Ed and Karen had lived in Mountain Home for many years, raising their family.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Lee Broyles. Survivors include: wife, Karen of the home, Brother, Jim (Doni) Broyles of Salem, AR., children: Charlie (Candice) Broyles of Virginia, Raechel Juber of Horton, KS., Shari (Ryan) Wayland of Mountain Home, AR,. Ian (Jordan) Calloway of Holman, WI., Cameron Broyles of Hiawatha, KS., and Chris (Mikayla) Broyles of Mountain Home, AR. Ed was also blessed with the following 16 grandchildren: Mitchell, Paige, Sadie, James, Mya, Seth, Emma, Trent, Gavin, Lucille, LaNora, Rorie, Silas, Keegan, Abel, Willow, and another grandchild on the way.

After a long day of hard work, Ed enjoyed nothing more than coming home to spend time with his growing family and dear friends.

Ed has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith-Sidenfaden Chapel in St. Joseph, MO. A memorial service will take place on Sunday, November 10th, 2024 at Lentz Express Catering located at: 116A West 8th Street in downtown Horton, Kansas starting at 2:00PM.

Ed was also blessed with the following 16 grandchildren: Mitchell, Paige, Sadie, James, Mya, Seth, Emma, Trent, Gavin, Lucille, LaNora, Rorie, Silas, Keegan, Abel, Willow, and another grandchild on the way.After a long day of hard work, Ed enjoyed nothing more than coming home to spend time with his growing family and dear friends.Ed has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith-Sidenfaden Chapel in St. Joseph, MO. A memorial service will take place on Sunday, November 10th, 2024 at Lentz Express Catering located at: 116A West 8th Street in downtown Horton, Kansas starting at 2:00PM.<figure>

Charles Edward Broyles 1961 - 2024

Ray Gene Kellogg, 74, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024.

He was born December 6, 1949 in St. Joseph to Russell and Edith (Cline) Kellogg. Ray was a 1969 graduate of Lafayette High School.

He was a custodian at the Methodist and State Hospitals and Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church.

Ray collected Coca-Cola and John Wayne memorabilia, and was an avid reader and walker.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother David; and nephew, Kenneth Thomas Gentry.

Survivors include siblings, Becky Behrend (Jim), Debbie Gentry (Tom), Darrell Kellogg (Ruthie Elliott), Sharlene Kellogg, Connie Phillips (Jerry), and Tim Kellogg (Kim); nieces and nephews, Amy, Patricia, Amber, Crystal, Darrell Alan, Megan, Breanna, Curtis, Josh, Danielle, Kristan; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Service 1:00 P.M. Thursday, First Baptist Church. Interment Savannah Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to the service.
