Carole Jean Burge of Platte City, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and dear friends on December 9, 2025, at the age of 77.
Born on August 15, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri, Carole lived a life marked by kindness, patience, and a deep devotion to her family and friends. Carole was the beloved wife of Gary Joe Burge and a devoted mother to her son Kevin Burge and his wife Tracy, and her daughter Laura Weir. She was a cherished grandmother to Austin Acord, Hunter Burge, Cheyenne Weir, Haley Burge, Denver Weir, and Carson Weir and so many children that call her Grandma Carole. Her love for her grandchildren was evident in the time she spent with them—moments she treasured deeply.
She is also remembered by her siblings brother Paul Wunderlich and his wife Lynn; brother Keith Wunderlich and his wife Sheryl; as well as her brother-in-law Charles Burge and sister-in-law Padget Burge many nieces, nephews great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Cecil Wunderlich, and her son-in-law John Weir. Carole’s gentle spirit touched all who knew her. She was known for being kind-hearted and patient—a steady presence whose warmth brought comfort to those around her. She found great joy in spending time with family, creating lasting memories through simple moments filled with love. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
