Porter DeWayne Hampton, age 51, died surrounded by his loved ones on February 10, 2025, at his home. He did not let cancer define his final years; he defined how to live life to the fullest during his battle. He modeled himself to be Super Man and Rocky through his treatments, with his fighting and strong-willed spirit. Porter would tell you, “Believe in Miracles, Fight Like a Champion”.

Porter’s life will be remembered and celebrated with a service on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. The family invites friends to join them for a visitation on Sunday, February 16th from 4-6:00 pm at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Memorials may be left to the Theatre Atchison or the Atchison Humane Society in care of the funeral home.

He was born October 22, 1973, in St. Joseph, MO, the son of Joseph Hampton and Betty Lou (Best) Hampton. He is a graduate of DeKalb High School and earned his construction certificate from Vo-Tech.

He began working as a teenager in the tobacco fields in DeKalb, MO, where he gained a strong work ethic that never faded. He then transitioned to the grocery business, working at Super Saver and Country Mart. In 1995, he started working at Atchison Casting/Bradken, where he stayed for over twenty years. For the last four years, he worked at McCormick Distilling in Weston, MO, in maintenance as a bottle technician. He served as the Union Steward for the UFCW Local #74A.At the age of sixteen, he already knew he found his soulmate. He would drive from DeKalb to a payphone at Sugar Lake just to make a call to her that wasn’t “long distance!” Five years later, he would marry his sweetheart, Calley Pilcher, in Rushville, MO, on June 10, of 1995. They were each other's best friend, rock, confidante, teammate, and soulmate wrapped in one. They were soon to celebrate 30 years of marriage, and Porter even stayed strong and passed on the 35th Anniversary of their first date.

Porter knew exactly what it meant to live life to the fullest every day. He was sensitive and caring, yet adventurous and even hilarious. His sense of humor, creativity and story telling was unmatched, maybe that is why his children fondly remember watching Saturday Night Live alongside their dad. He enjoyed nature and hiking with his family, especially through Weston Bend State Park. In the summers, he loved float trips with his family on the Jacks Fork River. Porter started most of his mornings with a 3:30 am jog through town and also loved riding bikes on the Riverfront and through Jackson Park. You just never quite knew where his adventurous spirit might lead him next, hence his countless videos and memes that he has shared on his Facebook account, A.B.I.G.S.H.A.M. His love of music, storytelling, poetry, acting and anything comical will always be fondly remembered by his family and friends.

Porter was deeply rooted in his faith and volunteered at the Word of Life Church in St. Joseph, MO, where he shared his faith with the church youth. Calley and Porter volunteered their time ministering to the middle schoolers on Sundays, caring for the infants in the nursery and spending summers in Colorado at church camp with the teens.

He is survived by his loving family, his wife, Calley Hampton; his three favorite children, Kaitlyn Hampton, Hannah Hampton and Joel Hampton; his father, Joseph Hampton; brother, Dennis (Cathy) Hampton; sisters, Betty Jo (Ed) Maxwell; Kenisa (Cassie) Owens-Hampton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Lou Hampton; and brothers, Randy (Nancy) Hampton and Kenny Joe Hampton.

John Dixon Boeh 72, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 in St Joseph, Missouri. He was born on September 20, 1952 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Vincent and Geneva Boeh. John graduated from Wathena High School class of 1970. He then graduated from Washburn University with his bachelor's degree in 1974, followed by his law degree from the Washburn University School of Law in 1977. &nbsp;In 1981 he married Andrea Sparks. John believed that every person deserved to have their day in court. His desire to help others led him to a career in public service. He began his career as a public defender, but and later became assistant city attorney, city attorney, and city prosecutor. He was then elected to the position of Municipal Court Judge for the City of St. Joseph, a position that he held for 21 years until he retired in 2021.

John enjoyed the simple things in life, whether it was spending time with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren, or whether it was golfing and fishing with his friends. John had friends from all walks of life. He believed that every person mattered, and he saw the potential in people who might not have even recognized that potential in themselves.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Geneva Boeh, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Rosemary Sparks, his brother, Steve Boeh, sisters-in-law, Marilyn Boeh and Valerie Stehle, brothers-in-law, Gary Stehle, Bill Lark, and James Sparks, and his great nephew, Gary Michael Stehle. He was also preceded in death by one of his best friends, Ron Fisher.

John is survived by his wife, Andrea, his daughters, Bethanee (Matthew) Hamilton and Monica Boeh, and his two grandchildren, Henry and Madeline Kate Hamilton, who he loved more than anything in this world. He also leaves behind his sister, Maribeth (Ken) Lee, as well as many nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends.

A private burial and celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Evelyn found joy in the pages of countless books and devoted her time to the fellowship at McCarthy Baptist Church.

Evelyn's memory is tenderly carried on by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Carol Simpson; her daughter, Wendy Burnes; her granddaughter, Andrea Richter, accompanied by her husband Robbie; and her great-grandchildren, David, Dean, Jimi Richter, and Autumn Caswell. John was a member of Corpus Christi Mooney Creek Catholic Church, he was also a 4th degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus having joined in 1966, Atchison River Rods, and Weston Moonshiners. John enjoyed many things in life, but his farm was high on the list, he also enjoyed car cruises, playing cards and spending time with his grandkids.

David A. Anderson, aged 72, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his son and daughter-in-law. Born on July 28, 1952 in Wilmer, MN, he was the son of the late LaVonne and Ardell Anderson. David was a dedicated worker, being one of the starting crew with Blue Side Tanning, and retiring after 48 years from National Beef as a Machinist. He enjoyed working on projects and keeping busy.

David was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Ann Anderson, his granddaughter, Shania Nicole Wheeler, and his brother, Jerry Anderson. He is survived by his son, Matt (Lisa) Anderson of St. Joseph, MO, his daughter, Kim (Shane) Wheeler of Gower, MO, and his grandchildren, Colton Anderson, Cody (Heather Schott) Wheeler, and Chloe Wheeler. He also leaves behind his siblings, Sue Trant, Lois Beck, Linda (Larry) Albrecht, Judy (Curt) Thornton, Janet (Mark) Davidson, Diane (Francis) Gaume, Stanley Anderson, Donnie Anderson, Scotty Anderson, Lisa Ruud, and Mike (Vickie) Anderson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Lloyd Walter Hope 78, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 at his home.  He was born June 1, 1946 in St. Joseph, Missouri, son of the late Helen &amp; Lloyd Hope. 

He married Sharon Brady on July 3, 1981, and she survives of the home. He graduated from Lafayette High School, and worked as an Electrical Contractor for over 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nascar, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs. 

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Linda Groom, and a brother, Wayne Stanley. 

He is survived by wife, Sharon Hope of the home, daughter, Carrie Hope of Berryton, KS, son, Craig (Ann) Hope of Kansas City, MO, sister, Cindy (Robert) Brown of St. Joseph, MO, grandchildren, Matt, Jake, Michelle, Jenny, and Collin.

Marjorie "Margie" Joanne Kendall 77, of St. Joseph, MO, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025 in a Savannah health care center. She was born October 20, 1947 in St. Joseph, Missouri, daughter of the late Marjorie &amp; Westley Chancey. 

She graduated from Lafayette High School, and worked at Sisters Hospital, Heartland Regional Medical Center, and retired from Walmart after 20 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. 

Margie was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie J. Gilmore, father, Westley L. Chancey, brothers, Don and Steve Chancey, a grandson, Chad Kendall, and daughter in law, Tammy Kendall. 

She is survived by three sons, Mike (Michelle) Kendall, Savannah, MO, Tom Kendall, St. Joseph, MO, and Chris (Heather) Kendall of Savannah, MO, brother, Mike (Holly) Chancey, and a sister, Linda (Wayne) Stevens, grandchildren; Lindsey (Travis) McCulloch, Kyler Kendall (Olivia Barbosa) fiancée, Maggie (Jordan) Johnson, and Madison Kendall, step grandchildren: Zachary (Ellyssa) Treece and Jeremiah (Felisha) Treece, great grandchildren: Karly, Lillian, Etta, and baby Carson McCulloch (on the way), and Nora and Jasper Treece. 

The family will receive friends and food will be served from 5:00 - 9:00 on Friday, February 21st for a Celebration of Life at the Preferred Community Center, 14375 Highway 71 Savannah, MO. She will be cremated under the care of the Rupp Funeral Home.

Marjorie "Margie" Joanne Kendall 77, of St. Joseph, MO, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025 in a Savannah health care center. She was born October 20, 1947 in St. Joseph, Missouri, daughter of the late Marjorie &amp; Westley Chancey. She graduated from Lafayette High School, and worked at Sisters Hospital, Heartland Regional Medical Center, and retired from Walmart after 20 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. Margie was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie J. Gilmore, father, Westley L. Chancey, brothers, Don and Steve Chancey, a grandson, Chad Kendall, and daughter in law, Tammy Kendall. She is survived by three sons, Mike (Michelle) Kendall, Savannah, MO, Tom Kendall, St. Joseph, MO, and Chris (Heather) Kendall of Savannah, MO, brother, Mike (Holly) Chancey, and a sister, Linda (Wayne) Stevens, grandchildren; Lindsey (Travis) McCulloch, Kyler Kendall (Olivia Barbosa) fiancée, Maggie (Jordan) Johnson, and Madison Kendall, step grandchildren: Zachary (Ellyssa) Treece and Jeremiah (Felisha) Treece, great grandchildren: Karly, Lillian, Etta, and baby Carson McCulloch (on the way), and Nora and Jasper Treece. The family will receive friends and food will be served from 5:00 - 9:00 on Friday, February 21st for a Celebration of Life at the Preferred Community Center, 14375 Highway 71 Savannah, MO. James "Jim" McIntosh 80, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025.  He was born April 7, 1944 in St. Joseph, MO to Dorothy (Hagele) and Jesse "Buddy" McIntosh. 

He married Betty Lynn Parsons in 1964. He graduated from Benton High School in 1962. Jim was drafted in the Army, and served from 1967-1969. During that time, he was sent to Vietnam with the 11th Army Calvary Regiment 1967-1968. He was at the Tet Offensive and on the front line the entire year. He received a Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Metal, and Pistol Rifle Expert Badge. Jim worked at 5 major packing houses in St. Joe, Silgan Containers, City of St. Joseph Street Department, and Fairview Golf Course. Jim loved the outdoors, arrowhead hunting, fishing, trapshooting, and auctions. He especially loved his family. 

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Roger (Sandy) McIntosh,  and sister, Jean (Dick) Lewin. 

Survivors include: wife, Betty Lynn, sons, John McIntosh of St. Joseph, MO, Tim (Linda Taylor) McIntosh of Omaha, NE, granddaughter, Vinika (Brent Champion) McIntosh of Shawnee, KS, grandson, Rylen McIntosh of Omaha, NE, brothers, Gary (Ernie) McIntosh of St. Joseph, MO, John (Mary Pat) McIntosh of Kansas City, MO, Bill McIntosh of Parkville, MO, many nieces and nephews, and his dog Leo Hank.

James Richard Long, 73, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2025.

Born on October 17, 1951, in St. Joseph to Clarland and Helen Long, James dedicated his life to service, both to his country and his community. He proudly served in the United States Air Force before providing for his family with a 42-year career in Nuclear Medicine at Mosaic Life Care.

On September 29, 1973, he married the love of his life, Patricia Rose Torres, and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories in St. Joseph.

James had a lifelong passion for reading and learning. He found joy in his grandchildren, being mischievous, and time spent with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarland and Helen Long.

James is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; his children, Matthew, Jesse, and Jon Eric Long; his daughters-in-law, Kirstie Healey, and Michele Massari-Cox; and his adored grandchildren, Connor Easter, and Gracie Long.

Cremation is under the direction of Simplify Cremations &amp; Funerals.

He was born December 15, 1947 in Glen Cove, New York to Albert and Mary (Clark) Lind. Jon’s younger years were split between New York and Florida. It was in Florida that he discovered his true love – the ocean. He later owned and lived on a yacht.

Jon married Barbara Meistrell. They later divorced but remained friends.

He owned and operated a recording studio in Florida, then worked for a charter boat company in the Caribbean and later at a boating magazine. Before retirement, he worked at a Jaguar dealership in Sarasota, Florida. In 2013, Jon relocated to St. Joseph to be near family.

Survivors include stepchildren, Christine Tuell (Scott), Sabra Rettmen (Zeke), Alexandria Miller, Laura Soroka, and Elizabeth Reinhold (Bob); five step-grandchildren; several siblings; and his former wife, Barbara.

Cremation under the direction of Simplify Cremations &amp; Funerals. Jon’s ashes will be scattered at sea at a later date.

Darlene Renee Holstrom (Meyers) passed away quietly in her home in the early hours of Thursday, February the 6th, 2025. She was born on February the 6th, 1956 in Kansas City, KS. In 1963 at the age of seven, she and her twin were adopted by Kenneth and Edna Meyers, where they were raised in the city of Leavenworth and later Tonganoxie, KS. In high school, Darlene enjoyed spending time with friends and cheerleading for the Tonganoxie Chieftains; and later for the Blue Devils at Kansas City KS Community College where she earned an associate's degree.

In 1975 at the age of nineteen, upon hearing from friends that she and her twin looked like another set of twins in Lawrence, she met her younger twin sisters for the first time since leaving the orphanage in '63. And from then on, she spent many happy days making memories with each of them and their families.

On July 26th, 1980, Darlene married Dennis R. Holstrom at the Community of Christ church in Leavenworth, KS; where they are both members. The wedding was a small affair in which the couple were lovingly surrounded by friends and family. On March 3rd, 1981, the couple welcomed the birth of their first child, a girl they, named Lori. And on February 9th, 1984, they welcomed their second child, a boy, they named Tyler.

Darlene spent most of her working career at Deluxe Check Printers in Lenexa, KS; a place she loved and made many great friends through-out the years. She spent about 40 years working there until her retirement in 2020. Whereafter, she loved spending time with her husband and children. She loved to bowl, a sport she gained from her husband, and if she wasn't bowling herself would then be watching him bowl.

Darlene had the biggest heart and never knew a stranger, whether it was a new friend of her children, or a new person met at the bowling alley, she had enough love to go around. And she loved to give hugs, the bigger the better. She was very much loved by those who knew her and is greatly missed. She is survived by her husband Denny, her daughter Lori, and her son Tyler; as well as her twin Marlene Partridge (John), nieces Shelli (Jeff Nauman) and Sheila Partridge; her younger sister Joan (Ron Fowler), nephews: Ron Jr., Ryan (Kim), Josh (Amber); younger sister JoAnn (Johnston), and nephews: Dell VI (Gu) and Leo. She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Jackie Johnston.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March the 16th at 1pm at the Community of Christ church in Leavenworth, KS; 1020 Halderman, Leavenworth, KS.

Bobby Ray Scott of St. Joseph, MO passed peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the age of 92. He was born on October 31, 1932 in Palmer, MO to Glen A. Scott and Pearl E. (Sago) Scott. In 1956, Bob was united in marriage to Carol Marvine Turnbough and to this union three daughters were born.

Bob spent thirty years as an educator. After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in education with a major in mathematics from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Bob earned a Master of Arts degree with a major in physics from Washington University, St. Louis, MO, and a Doctor of Education degree with a major in higher education administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He was elected to membership in the following organizations: Pi Mu Epsilon mathematics honorary, Phi Delta Kappa professional education association, and Phi Theta Kappa junior college honorary. After teaching mathematics and science in several high schools, he taught mathematics at Mineral Area College, Park Hills, MO. Bob also served in the U.S. Army at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland in the late 1950’s as a mathematics-statistics military occupational specialist.

In 1968, Bob became the first Dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, MO. During his leadership, bachelor degrees were initiated in the seven departments which he supervised. He also coordinated a bachelor degree program at the U.S. Penitentiary in Leavenworth, KS in the 1970’s, and he initiated an Elderhostel program at MWSU. Bob retired from MWSU in 1986 to begin a beef cattle business in Easton, MO, where his dream of returning to a rural lifestyle and love of farming was fulfilled. After retiring from the cattle business, he and his wife, Carol, returned to St. Joseph in 2016.

Bob was best known for his love and servanthood to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and his love for his family and friends. He began his journey with Christ as a teenager and continued until death. Bob served his Lord with Christian diligence and integrity during his lifetime, teaching the Bible to adult Sunday School classes, serving as a deacon, as well as serving on and chairing many committees in many churches until health issues prevented him from doing so. He remained devoted to his Savior and loved to worship with fellow Christians. He loved family gatherings and especially loved the hugs and smiles that were given to him by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Bob’s guidance, wisdom, and care for others will always be respected and remembered.

Preceding Bob in death were his parents, his brother, Gary, his son-in-law, Chris, and his sister-in-law, Donna. He is survived by his wife, Carol, and daughters, Deborah Zaroor (Chris), Julie Hoffelmeyer, and Diane Williams (Darryl). Also surviving are his grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, Caleb, Joshua (Natalie), Daniel (Allyson), Maggie, Daedra (Brad), and Dustin, and great grandchildren, Joel, Joseph, Carter, Jillian, and Zayn. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Glen Turnbough, Alice Scott, Brenda and Bob Bauer, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of choice. The family would like to give special thanks to Freudenthal Hospice and In-Home on Call for their dedicated care. John Thomas “Tom” Keller, 77, Parkville, Missouri, formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025.

He was born August 18, 1947 in Mexico, Missouri to John Thomas Keller II and Dorothy (Ingwersen) Keller. Tom grew up in different parts of Missouri before the family settled in St. Joseph when he was in seventh grade. He was a graduate of Central High School.

He attended St. Joseph Junior College. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and then in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Tom married Debra Ann Beirlein on October 16, 2021. She survives of the home.

An outgoing person who easily made friends, he was a sales manager for Hillyard Chemical Company for 20 years before moving to Chicago, where he worked for Bunzel and retired from there.

Tom loved to golf and enjoyed watching the Chiefs and Royals, as well as doing carpentry and home projects.

Survivors include his wife, Deb; daughter, Laura Baron (Jon); grandsons, Eli and Dylan Baron; siblings, Brad Keller (Mary Beth), Diane Wanserski (Tom), and Debbie Mahoney (Joe); former wife and mother of his child, Roxy Jo Zembles; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends; beloved dog, Zoey; and beloved cat, Zara.

Benji, 48, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025; following complications of a stroke.

He was born in Saint Joseph, Missouri to Thomas D. and Cathy L. (Carrel) Sontheimer.

Benji was a proud graduate of Lafayette High School, class of 1994. Carrying the work ethic instilled in him into his professional life; his career began at the young age of 16. Over the years, he dedicated his skills to BJ's Auto, Anderson Ford, Annigan King Hill Body Shop and Altec.

Benji had a passion for fast and loud cars, the freedom of riding his Harley Davidson; especially in poker runs and charity events. He also enjoyed the thrill of a loud sound system. His favorite band, Metallica, was often the soundtrack to his adventures. His loyal dog, Cinnamon, was a constant companion. He found joy in the simple pleasure of good Mexican food complimented by a cold beer shared with family and friends.

Those who knew Benji will remember him as a man who lived life to the fullest, with a smile that could light up a room and a heart that was generous and kind.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jonna Rehm; friend, Jessie Edwards; grandparents, aunts, uncles and many friends.

Survivors include his cherished daughter, Danyka Sontheimer; parents; sister, Tracy Frye; best friend, Nate Barron (Amy), whom he affectionately referred to as "my brother from another mother", nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Mildred Lorene Meyn passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, in Cedar Park, Texas. She lived an active 102 years and was loved by all.

Mildred was born September 3, 1922 in Columbus, Nebraska, to Herman and Louise (Brunken) Karlin. Baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Columbus, Nebraska. Mildred graduated from Columbus High School and Chillicothe Business College, Chillicothe, Missouri. On June 6, 1943, Mildred married Wilbur N. Meyn in Columbus, Nebraska.

She is survived by three daughters, Kathleen (Scott) Fichter of Cedar Park, Texas, Betty Meyn of Waukee, Iowa, and Marilyn (Galen) Seehafer of Hunter, Texas; four grandchildren, Jennifer McMillin, Scott (Amy) Fichter, Megan Seehafer, and Sabrina Seehafer; six great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashley, Amber, Siena, Rowan, and Mila; brother, Gerald (Nadene) Karlin of Overland Park, Kansas; numerous nieces and nephews.

Terry Batchelder, 78, of Gower, MO passed away, February 6, 2025.

He was born on November 12, 1946 in Belton, MO. Terry grew up in Belton and graduated from Belton High School.

On August 13, 1972 he was united in marriage to Roberta Whippo. After their marriage they lived near Gower where they made their home. His wife, Roberta, passed away November 29, 2021.

Terry was a farmer all of his life and worked at the Rock Quarry near Gower for over 40 years. He loved barbequing, music and concerts and most of all spending time with his family.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Catherine Belto; brothers, Monte Batchelder and Leslie Batchelder; sister, Denise Skeens; sons, Christopher Brown and Kevin Batchelder; and son-in-law, Michael VanVleck.

Robert Earl Zornes, 68, of Kansas City, MO went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2025.

He was born on August 20, 1956, to Russell Roy and Jessie Lee (Adams) Zornes in Iola, KS where he grew up and graduated from Iola High School in 1974. Robert graduated from Evangel College with a bachelors in pipe organ performance and later received his master’s in counseling from Emporia State University.

On June 6, 1981, he was united in marriage to Susan Kay Rosenlieb. After their marriage they lived in Emporia, KS and in 1982 they moved to Kansas City, MO where they made their home.

After moving to Kansas City, Robert was the Minister of Pastoral Care and Counseling for Northland Cathedral. In 1985, he helped found The L.I.G.H.T. House with Kansas City Youth for Christ and then in 2002 he became the Executive Director for Mother’s Refuge in Independence, MO. During his time of ministry, more than 1500 babies were saved from abortion, and he touched countless lives demonstrating God’s grace by providing a “hand up not a hand out.” Robert was also a successful entrepreneur in sales. He loved teaching his sons business through J. B. Toys. Robert loved helping people, never met a stranger, and was a wonderful husband, brother, uncle, dad and papa.

He was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Jessie Zornes; his brother David Zornes; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Raymond and Edyth Rosenlieb; and brother-in-law Larry Rosenlieb.

He is survived by his wife Susan Zornes; sons Carl, Bobby and Josh, Grandson Nathan Zornes and his wife Alona Zornes, siblings Donna Zornes, Bill (Patty) Zornes, Janice (Dave) Wing, Terry (Sandy) Zornes, Thomas Tracy Zornes; sister-in-law Cindy Zornes, and sister-in-law Kathy (Chuck) Weidner, many nieces and nephews, and all of the friends that became family.

Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 14th at Highland Cemetery in Iola, KS.

Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. with a Celebration of Life Service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 8th at Northland Cathedral, 101 NW 99th St., Kansas City, MO, 64155.

Sue Ann (Taylor) Blanton, 74, of Troy, Kansas passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph, Missouri.

Sue was born on April 29, 1950, to Bennie and Alice (Plautz) Taylor.

She graduated from Troy High School in 1968 and was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Wathena, Kansas. Sue worked for Mead Products for 30 years and retired from Prime Tanning, now known as National Beef. She was the Board Secretary of the Stationary Credit Union and was the secretary of the Senior Council at the Pioneer Center of Troy, Kansas.

Sue married Richard Blanton on October 2, 1982, in Troy, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 20, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors; son, Anthony Taylor (Brooke), St. Joseph, Missouri. Grandchildren, Kylee Lewallen (Eddie), St. Joseph, Missouri. Caitlyn Taylor (Daniel), South Hadley, Massachusetts. Josh graduated from Troy High School in 2012. He worked as a mechanic in his father’s shop.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Peden, grandparents, Kenny and Ruth Peden and uncle, Edward Peden.

Survivors include, mother, Patricia Ann Scholz, Troy, Kansas. Brother, Jeremiah Peden, Topeka, Kansas. Sister, Kristin Pinzino, St. Joseph, Missouri. Uncles, John and Mark Peden, uncle, Timothy Long along with many cousins and friends.

Joshua Kane Peden 1994 - 2025

Peter Warren, 78, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025 in St. Joseph. Peter was born September 26, 1946 in Bethany, MO, son of Ellen and Wilbur Warren II. 

He graduated from Easton High School, class of 1964, and later from Missouri Western State College. He married Diane Lambright on April 22, 2000 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church. Peter was a proud United States Marine. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served as a Marine Sniper in the US Marine Corps First Sniper Division. Following his service, he worked as a Pilot with TransWorld Express. Pete loved flying, hunting, boating, riding his motorcycle, deep sea fishing and scuba diving. He was also a proud member of NRA. 

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Wilbur Warren, III. 

Survivors include: siblings, Ina and her late husband Wayne Wilson of St. Joseph, John (Jean Ann) Warren of Rea, MO, Patricia (Terry) Castor of St. Joseph, Harold (Paula) Warren of St. Joseph, Mary (David) Jones of St. Joseph, Marti (Kevin) Chapman of St. Joseph, former wife, Diane Warren, 4 grandchildren, Jillian, Sophie, Olivia, and Willy, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Peter Warren, 78, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025 in St. Joseph. Peter was born September 26, 1946 in Bethany, MO, son of Ellen and Wilbur Warren II. He graduated from Easton High School, class of 1964, and later from Missouri Western State College. He married Diane Lambright on April 22, 2000 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church. Peter was a proud United States Marine. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served as a Marine Sniper in the US Marine Corps First Sniper Division. Following his service, he worked as a Pilot with TransWorld Express. Pete loved flying, hunting, boating, riding his motorcycle, deep sea fishing and scuba diving. He was also a proud member of NRA. Peter was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Wilbur Warren, III. Survivors include: siblings, Ina and her late husband Wayne Wilson of St. Joseph, John (Jean Ann) Warren of Rea, MO, Patricia (Terry) Castor of St. Joseph, Harold (Paula) Warren of St. Joseph, Mary (David) Jones of St. Joseph, Marti (Kevin) Chapman of St. Joseph, former wife, Diane Warren, 4 grandchildren, Jillian, Sophie, Olivia, and Willy, and numerous nieces and nephews.Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 10, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Celebrant, Father Stephen Hansen.
