Clarence “Bud” Stark, 91, Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026.

He was born November 3, 1934, to Frieda (Hansen) and Herman Phillip Stark in Saint Joseph, Missouri.

He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His life was a testament to the enduring power of love, family, and a spirit of adventure.

Clarence graduated from Lafayette High School and soon after took a path of service, joining the Army. His dedication to community was evident in his 28 years with the Saint Joseph Police Department, followed by 18 years as an Engineer for the Saint Joseph School District.

He married his beloved wife, Doris, on December 29, 1957, and together they built a family rooted in faith and joy.

A man of many interests, Clarence was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, where his faith-filled life was nurtured. His hobbies were as varied as his talents, from collecting coins, guns, knives, and Civil War bullets, to his passion for rocks and creating jewelry. This passion was shared with his son, Eric, bonding them in a unique and special way. Clarence was also an avid outdoorsman who cherished making memories with his daughter, Jeanette, under the open sky.

Clarence loved to take his family on road trips each summer, infusing these journeys with history and capturing moments through his photography. These trips were not merely vacations but educational adventures that enriched the lives of his family and created lasting memories.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Sister, June Edwards and her husband Charles; brother-in-law David Stouffer; sister-in-law, Margaret Dishman; and his great-nephew, Jon Dishman.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Doris; son Eric D. Stark (Cami); daughter Jeanette Hunt; Granddaughters, Hillary Sanz (Javier) and Emily Moss (Daniel); great-granddaughters, Clara Sanz, Kathryn Moss and Elizabeth Moss; extended family and friends.

Farewell Services and Public Livestream 10:00 A.M. Wednesday January 21, St. Peter Lutheran Church. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday January 20, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Peter Lutheran Church.
