To my family, friends and especially to my beloved daughter, Cathy Sue. It is time to say goodbye as God has called me (at least I hope it was God).
Mary Margaret Tinley Gann passed away on January 14, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 8,1935 to the late John and Verneda (Klebenstine) Tinley. Mary married Walter Gann, Jr. on October 6,1956 and they had two daughters, Julie Marie who died at birth and Catherine Sue who still lives in St. Joseph. They later divorced.
Mary was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Church. She attended St. Patrick Grade School, Convent of the Sacred Heart (Class of 1953) and Gard Business College.
Mary’s first job was at the Hickory Theatre. She also worked at United Department Store, Bartlett Mortgage Company and Home Savings. Mary retired as an officer from Provident Bank after 25 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Bud Doan; her nephew, Buth Doan; her maternal grandparents, George and Emma Klebenstine; paternal grandparents, James and Ellen Tinley.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews in Dodge City, KS. Mary is also survived by the Jordan brothers – David, Mark, Keith and Philip. Thanks to David for all the tomatoes and for making oyster dressing. All the brothers have always been there to help Cathy and me after my parents died.
God has been very good to me. I had a loving family, but most of all God blessed me with a kind, understanding and loving daughter. She took care of me during my years of ill health always with a smile and no complaints.
