Jackie "Jack" Clayton Townsend 66, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026 at his home.
He was born July 9, 1959 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Mary and Virgil Townsend. He attended Savannah High School and Penn State University. Jack married Jennifer Erickson on June 21, 2014. He worked at Mead Products, Artisian Ice, and Albaugh industries. He enjoyed shooting pool, riding his motorcycle, mushroom hunting and watching the Kansas City Chiefs.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Michael Townsend Sr, and a nephew Michael Townsend Jr. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Townsend of the home, daughter, Natasha Bennett of Kansas City, MO, step children: Michael Erickson, and Jaycee Erickson, and four grandchildren, siblings: Floyd Townsend, Pat (Sue)Townsend, Ramona Cates, and half sisters Phyllis and Judy.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Friday with a celebration of life starting at 3:00 pm Friday January 23, 2026 at the Rupp Funeral Home. There will be a funeral dinner following the services at the V.F.W Post 6760 on Cherokee St.
