Nancy Ann (Francis) Blenden, 64, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023 at her home. She was born April 18, 1959 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of Adrienne and Herbert Francis.

 She graduated from Bishop LeBlond High School, class of 1977. Nancy had last worked for the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce as a Secretary. She loved visiting with her friends and taking care of others, working word search puzzles, and her game shows. She also enjoyed spending time being outdoors, especially tending to her flowers and plants, and listening to music while dancing. 

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, and brother-in-law, Bill Clinton. 

Survivors include: son, Chad (Lisa) Blenden of St. John's, FL, daughter, Alexis Blenden of El Dorado, AR, sisters, Debi (Bill) Clinton of St. Joseph, and Jennifer (Frank) Baber, of Olathe, KS, grandchildren, Asytyn, Chase, Colton, and Adam Blenden, great-granddaughter, Caelyn Blenden, nephews, Josh and Nick Newton and Jeremy Baber, niece, Kaylee Clinton, great-nieces, Adrianna Clinton and Emma Newton, great-nephews, Dylan, Caleb, Ayden, and Gabe Newton, her friends and caregivers, Lisa Chalfant and Lisa Gabriel. 

 Ms. Blenden has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the Rupp Funeral Home with Deacon Marcelino Canchola, officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday at Rupp Funeral Home.

James H. Hardin, 84, of St Joseph, MO, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. He was born December 16, 1938 in St. Joseph, son of Alma and James Hardin. 

Jim was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a Baker for Wonderbread, retiring after 30 years. He enjoyed camping and traveling, going to casinos, playing poker and bingo. 

James was preceded in death by his parents, son, Terry Hardin, brothers, Norman Hardin and Waymer "Junior" Hardin, sisters, Wilma Mininger and Ella Blacketer, and his former wife, Burtona (Peoples) Hardin. 

Survivors include: daughters, Lori (Matt) Cooper of St Joseph, Karen (Jeff) McKinney of Rochester, NH, Lisa (Lonnie) Downs of Berwick, ME, son, Kris Hardin of St. Joseph, his companion of 23 years, Shirley Vaughn of St. Joseph, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

John William Munshaw 74, of Oregon, MO, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 11, 2023 in a Wathena, KS health care center. He was born August 16, 1948 in Seatle, WA, son of the late Ruby and Joseph Munshaw. 

He graduated from South Nodaway High School, and he attended Northwest Missouri State University. He married Joyce Mortell on June 11, 1986, and she survives of the home. John worked at KC Carpenter Union as a Millrite.  He enjoyed traveling, going to Yellowstone, camping, fishing, and hanging out with his family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 grandchildren. 

Survivors include: wife, Joyce Munshaw of the home, children: AmaDeo "Michael" (Minh) Nguyen, Boston, MA, Sierra Munshaw, Santa Rosa, CA, Jasen (Tracy) Miller, Jimmy Bunn,  Jodi Gilbert all of St. Joseph, MO, Maggie (Ryan) Crawford, Kansas City, MO, 18 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, brothers, Joe (Coke) Munshaw and Bob Munshaw, and 4 nephews.

Helen K. Walters, a loving, selfless, and kind woman, passed away on June 10, 2023. Born on July 28, 1947, in Stuttgart, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Gregor and Anna Kalamon.

Helen is survived by her devoted husband, Barry W. Walters, her three loving children, Scott Walters, Tasha Gray, and Tanya Walters, and her treasured grandchildren, Bailey Keuck (Quentin), Petra, Candace, Lon, and Lacey Gray, and Samantha Schroeder. She also leaves her cherished great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Aria, Sadie, and Nyjah. Helen is fondly remembered by her siblings, Steve and Mike Kalamon, Olga Smith, and Mary Lindsey. She is preceded in death by her brother, John Kalamon.

A proud member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Helen's faith played a significant role in her life. Her selflessness shone through in her devotion to her family and friends, consistently putting the needs of others before her own.

Helen had a passion for reading, as well as crocheting and knitting. She also loved cooking and baking with her family, creating lasting memories and passing on cherished traditions to future generations.

Helen will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her loving and kind spirit will live on in the many lives she touched throughout her time with us.

Ronald G. Wilson, of Gallatin, Missouri, age 75, passed away on June 10, 2023 after a prolonged stay at Quail Run Health Care Center in Cameron, Missouri.

Ron and his twin brother, Donald, were born February 23, 1948 in St. Joseph, MO, the sons of Joseph M. and Olive June Wilson. Ron attended Benton High School and was a part of the Class of 1965.

Ron had a varied career and held positions in the meatpacking industry, the trucking industry, at Hausman Sheet Metal Works, machine operator at Carnation Pet Foods, but he most enjoyed his 20 years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the northwest Missouri area.

Ron was preceded in death by his twin brother and his parents.

Ron is survived by many of his loved ones, including his three children, Michelle Wilson, Michael Wilson, and Melissa Lembke; his two brothers, Dan Wilson and Steve “Red” Wilson; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Ron was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Faucett, MO, and the First Christian Church in Gallatin, MO.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Davidson Sr.; her son, John Paul Davidson; and her brother, George Ryan. She is survived by her children: Arthur Davidson Jr. (Angie), and Osey Beaman (Michael); her brother, John Ryan Sr. (Mary), as well as her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Judy J. (Hug) O’Gorman, 80, of Holton, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

She was born January 3, 1943 at Holton, the daughter of Frank and Bertha “Bert” Nott. Judy had lived for forty years at Mayetta, on the farm and later worked for Walmart for twenty-five years.

She attended St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton and Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church in Topeka.

Judy married Patrick Michael O’Gorman on June 28, 1992 in Topeka. &nbsp;He survives, of the home.

Other survivors include four sons, Dean Hug, David Hug, Dwayne Hug and Douglas Hug, a brother, Bill Nott, eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

Sandra Ann 'Sandy' Hill 1944 - 2023

Danny Martin Buckler passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, June 6th, 2023, at North Kansas City Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. A visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 am on Thursday, June 15th, 2023, at Vaughn’s Funeral Home in Weston, Missouri. A memorial service will immediately follow. The family suggests contributions be given to the West Platte Education Foundation. Danny was born in Burlington, Kentucky on May 2, 1943, to Badger Calvert and Marjorie Helen (Sharp) Buckler. His family moved from Burlington to Dearborn, Missouri and eventually settled in Weston, Missouri. Danny was a 1962 graduate of West Platte High School. Upon graduation, Danny married his high school sweetheart, Mary Lee Gwinn, on June 30, 1962, and joined the U.S. Air Force in July of that same year. Danny served as a jet mechanic from 1962-1966, when he was honorably discharged. After living in Texas and Arkansas during his military service, he moved his family back to Weston, Missouri. Danny started his own company, Danny’s Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, where he was eager to serve his community at a minute's notice. Danny also worked 25 years at De Laval in Kansas City, Missouri, where he worked in maintenance and assembly. Danny was a man of many hobbies and talents. He could fix anything. He coached his daughters and their friends in summer softball, and he was involved in the local Shriners and Jaycee organizations. He traveled, hunted, fished, played poker, and various other sports, but his favorite by far was golf. He spent countless hours and made many friends on the green. Danny left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He never met a stranger and after a short interaction he considered them family. Even in the last months of his life at Benton House, he was the life of the party. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Sherry Wintz, a brother-in-law Bill Wintz, a brother Carol Dell Buckler and a brother-in-law Leslie McNair. Danny Martin Buckler passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, June 6th, 2023, at North Kansas City Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. A visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 am on Thursday, June 15th, 2023, at Vaughn’s Funeral Home in Weston, Missouri. A memorial service will immediately follow. The family suggests contributions be given to the West Platte Education Foundation. Danny was born in Burlington, Kentucky on May 2, 1943, to Badger Calvert and Marjorie Helen (Sharp) Buckler. His family moved from Burlington to Dearborn, Missouri and eventually settled in Weston, Missouri. Danny was a 1962 graduate of West Platte High School. Upon graduation, Danny married his high school sweetheart, Mary Lee Gwinn, on June 30, 1962, and joined the U.S. Air Force in July of that same year. Danny served as a jet mechanic from 1962-1966, when he was honorably discharged. After living in Texas and Arkansas during his military service, he moved his family back to Weston, Missouri. Danny started his own company, Danny’s Plumbing, Heating and Cooling, where he was eager to serve his community at a minute's notice. Danny also worked 25 years at De Laval in Kansas City, Missouri, where he worked in maintenance and assembly. Danny was a man of many hobbies and talents. He could fix anything. He coached his daughters and their friends in summer softball, and he was involved in the local Shriners and Jaycee organizations. He traveled, hunted, fished, played poker, and various other sports, but his favorite by far was golf. He spent countless hours and made many friends on the green. Danny left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He never met a stranger and after a short interaction he considered them family. Even in the last months of his life at Benton House, he was the life of the party. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Sherry Wintz, a brother-in-law Bill Wintz, a brother Carol Dell Buckler and a brother-in-law Leslie McNair. She was born on January 5, 1985, in Kansas City, MO. Kelli grew up in Platte County and graduated from West Platte High School in 2003. She was active in softball and basketball.

Kelli received her Medical Assistant and worked for Hillview Nursing Home and did in home health care. She loved music and attending concerts and enjoyed running and fitness. Most of all, she loved being involved in her sons’ sporting activities.&nbsp;

She was an active member of the Rock of KC where she was baptized on Easter of 2022.&nbsp;

Kelli was preceded in death by her grandparents Charles and Mildred Knighton and her step-father Jon Hines.&nbsp;

Gordon Stevenson passed away Dec. 28, 2022, in Palmview, Texas.&nbsp;

Gordon was born in Boyd, Nebraska, on Oct. 30, 1930, to Clifford and Leitha Stevenson. They moved to St. Joseph where he grew up. Gordon graduated from Lafayette High School in St. Joseph in 1948. He joined the Navy right after high school and he served until 1958.

Gordon married Maisie Irene Brumage on June 7, 1958, and they remained married until her death in 2019. They resided for 40 years in Gower, Missouri, where they raised their five boys.

Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Leitha; his brother, Larry; and his wife, Maisie.

He is survived by his five boys, Keith, Jesse, Tim, Larry and Bart; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Maisie Irene (Brumage) Stevenson, 81, passed away July 7, 2019, in McAllen, TX.

She was born in Lumberport, West Virginia, in 1938. She graduated high school in Painesville, Ohio.&nbsp; Maisie served three years in the Navy.

On June 7, 1958, she married Gordon D. Stevenson. They resided in Gower, Missouri, for 40 years before retiring to Mission, Texas, in 2010.While in Gower, Maisie worked at the local supermarket and substitute taught at East Buchanan High School.&nbsp; She was an assistant librarian at the Smithville Public Library in Smithville, Missouri.

Maisie was active in the Mount Moriah United Methodist church.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Francis V. Brumage and Martha (Edgell) Brummage; and three brothers, Fred, Tom and Don Brumage.

She is survived by: her five children: Keith, Jesse, Tim, Larry and Bart; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judith Baston and Virginia Brumage; and one brother, Russel Gould.

Maisie was a kind, and generous person and forgiving to a fault. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Larry LaVerne Heitman, 82, of Plattsburg, MO passed away at Liberty Hospital on Sunday, June 11, 2023.

Larry “Hoot” was born on April 9, 1941, in Charles City, Iowa, the oldest of four children to Alvin LaVerne Heitman and Drusilla Pauline (Johnson) Heitman. Larry’s early years were spent on the Mewes-Heitman Family Farm in Floyd County, Iowa. This is where his education began, in a country school just across the fence.

In February 1952, the family made a permanent move to Missouri- Nevada then Plattsburg. Larry was a 1959 graduate of Plattsburg High School where he excelled in football and basketball. After graduation, he attended Highland Kansas Junior College where he played football and Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville. Hunting and fishing were his favorite pastimes.

In September 1963, he joined the Army Reserves; Control Group St. Louis 1965-1968; June 1968 Active Duty; and spent 15 months at Fort Sill, OK during the Vietnam Conflict. He was discharged in September of 1969. Larry was a member of the John Calhoun Post 97 Plattsburg American Legion.

His employment with General Motors Corporation began November 20, 1961, and he retired in 1993.He was united in marriage on April 28, 1974, to Rita (Lemar) Boyer.

Survivors include daughters, Brenna (Jason) Harris, Smithville, MO and Kendra (Dennis) Clark, Cameron, MO; three grandchildren, Kaden (David) Cheney, Korbin Harris and Kolby Harris; two great-grandchildren, Mason Cheney and Weston Cheney; brothers, Jerome Heitman, Plattsburg, MO and Duane Heitman, St. Charles, MO; and sister, Judy Heitman, Liberty, MO.

&nbsp;Wayne W. Myers, 80, of rural Denton, Kansas met his Savior Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Medical Lodge in Atchison, Kansas. &nbsp;

Wayne was born January 19, 1943, to William and Harriet (Gish) Myers, in Horton, KS. Wayne faced many heartaches and struggles throughout his life, starting the day after he was born. &nbsp;

Wayne grew up in Denton, working on the farm. Wayne worked various jobs throughout his life mostly farming and heavy equipment operation. In 1979, Wayne married Sheila Davis and they were married within 3 months of meeting. Wayne was a quiet, kind man. &nbsp;He never met an enemy! Later Wayne was blessed with one daughter, Bridget, and later 5 beautiful grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren who will all miss him terribly.&nbsp;

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila in 2009, (the only time I ever saw him cry), by his parents, William and Harriet, stepmother Naomi, stepmother Betty, brother Gerald and brother-in-law Leonard Thompson. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Wayne was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bendena, Kansas.&nbsp;

He is survived by his daughter, Bridget, Atchison, KS. Grandchildren Sgt. Malachi Manis of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky; Caleb Manis of St. Joseph, MO, Sierra Manis (Austin), Dakota and Gracelynn Taylor all of Atchison, KS.&nbsp; Brother Lewis (Patricia) of Troy, KS and sister Sylvia Thompson of Denton, Kansas. Rosa Lee “Rosie” Turpin, of Atchison, Kansas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother during her 90 years of life, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2023.

Rosie was born on April 28, 1933, in Effingham, Kansas, daughter of George and Katharine (Schneider) Regan. She attended St. Joseph’s Grade School and graduated from Mount St. Scholastica Academy in 1951.

At the age of 14, she met a handsome neighbor boy who would later become her husband. She and Donald Turpin were married on July 5, 1952 at Keesler Air Force Base, in Biloxi, Mississippi. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary last summer.

Rosie spent much of her adult life raising children and grandchildren. She also worked as a bus driver for Benedictine College throughout the 1970’s, transporting students back and forth from north to south campus. In 1978, she became a chauffeur for the Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica. She worked for them for 33 years, until her retirement in 2011. Rosie loved her job, and became close friends with many of the Sisters. After her retirement, she and Don spent the next 9 years as full-time babysitters for some of their great-grandchildren.&nbsp;

In her younger years, Rosie enjoyed playing and coaching softball. She coached all of her daughters as members of the Turpin’s Tornadoes. She took pride in working hard throughout her life. This was especially evident in the way she took care of her home and yard, mowing it herself until she was almost 80. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her stubbornness and the never-ending love that she gave to her family.

Rosie is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bob Regan; sisters, Mary Ellen Matthews, Kathleen Badger, Eileen Graves, and Marjorie Willming. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Michael Coulter; grandson Tim Phillips and great-grandson Jayden Langan.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Don Turpin; children: Mike (Tracey) Turpin, Chris (Melissa) Turpin, Kathy Phillips, Sherry Coulter, Vicki Bennett, Pam (Mike) Andre, Tracie Turpin; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Rosie’s life will be celebrated on Monday, June 19, 2023, beginning with a visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery and a lunch will be served at the church basement after the burial. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Church with Fr. Jeremy Heppler, OSB as celebrant. A parish rosary will be on Wednesday June 14th, at 5:30 P.M. with visitation to follow until 7:00 at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Sharon will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Sharon was born on August 19, 1945 in Atchison to Charles William and Virginia Ruth (Thomas) Garrett. She grew up in Atchison before moving to Effingham during high school. She graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1963. As a child she enjoyed spending time with her grandparents and that was when she started rocking in a rocking chair. No matter what house she was in or porch she was on, she was rocking.

Sharon went to work at Snowden Mize in Atchison after graduation.&nbsp;

She married Robert Meade on February 10, 1968, at St. Ann’s Church in Effingham, Kansas. As a young newlywed she watched her husband leave for the Army in November 1968. She continued working and praying for Robert’s safe return from Vietnam.

In 1971, they welcomed a daughter, Bobbi Jo, and a son, Jeffrey Alan, in 1974. Sharon worked hard to help raise her family. When the kids were young, she worked at Medicalodge as a nurses’ aide. She worked at Rockwell as a security guard. She at one time worked three jobs; St. Joseph’s Church, Theatre Atchison, and the Atchison Presbyterian Church as a custodian before retiring. Sharon was a dedicated mother and wife. She volunteered to be a room mother and head room mother during their grade school years. She was a member of the Community Club and served as Carnival Chairman as well. She never missed Jeff’s ball games or Bobbi Jo’s band concerts. She was commonly known as “mom” or “band mom”.

Sharon was a devoted catholic and a member of St. Joseph’s Church. She was very involved in St. Matthew’s circle, Alter Society, Daughter’s of Isabella, and the Church Bazaar, where she could be found at the Fancy Booth. She was faithful with adoration, praying every Thursday at 1:00 P.M. She many times covered the following time slot as well. Sharon was a life time member of Girl Scouts, and received many awards, including the Honor Pin. She was a leader, trainer, consultant, and leader for her granddaughter’s troop. She volunteered at The Amelia Earhart Festival, Junior Guild, and President of The Garden Club. She dedicated herself, along with Robert, to Ducks Unlimited earning a 25 year pin.

Sharon was a member of St. Joseph's Church. She was a former member and past president of the Daughter’s of Isabella. Sharon also participated in Matthew’s Circle and Adoration at the church. She was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of America. Sharon was very active in her community and had a passion for volunteering,

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Henry and Maude (Matthias) Garrett and Olin and Edna (Burch) Thomas, uncles Jim and Louie Garrett, Bud and Maxine Thomas. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Justin Behler.

Sharon is survived by her husband Robert, of the home, her daughter Bobbi Jo (Pat Neumann), her son Jeffrey Alan, and a brother Richard (Virginia) Garrett; sister-in-laws, Gayla Tempton, Cheryl (Cliff) Lowry, and a number of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Sharon loved all her pets throughout the years, feeding her birds, flower gardening, and sports. She could always be found watching an NCAA basketball or football game, and NFL games. She entertained her kids and grandkids with songs and making animal sounds.

Robert "Bob" George Row 93, of St. Joseph, MO. went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at his home in St. Joseph, MO. He was born May 30, 1930 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Katherine and Mendell Row. 

He graduated from Benton High School and St. Joseph Junior College. He married Margaret "Gail" Zuptich on April 19, 1982. &nbsp;He served in the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard. He retired in 2000 at the age of 70 from the United States Postal Service as a Carrier. He was a member of the Million Mile Club, an award for a Million Miles or 30 years with out a preventable accident, he loved his job. Bob enjoyed sports, was an avid Mizzou, Kansas City Chiefs, and Royals fan, he was a 49 year member of the Masonic Lodge, past member Scottish Rite, a member of the National Association of Letters Carriers, a life member of the VFW, and American Legion. 

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Betty Beaman, brother, Edward Row, niece, Cheryl Kline, and his in laws, Margaret &amp; Charles Zuptich. 

Survivors include wife, Gail Row of the home, daughter, Amy Row, St. Joseph, MO, niece, Carolyn Polsky, nephews, Bob Beaman, Ed Row Jr., Gary Row, and Ronald Row, and his beloved big black dog, Harper.&nbsp;

Pattonsburg, MO: Elanor Sue McMahill Best, 89, Pattonsburg, MO passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023, at a Kansas City, MO hospital.

She was born on April 13, 1934, in Caldwell County, Kidder, Missouri the daughter of William Fern and Alice (Potter) McMahill.

Elanor was a graduate of Osborn High School, Chillicothe Business College and when encouraged by her mother, completed the prescribed course of Studies in Illustrating and Related Art from Art Instruction Inc., Minneapolis, MN.

She accepted Christ as her Savior when she was twelve. She married the love of her life, Morris G Best, on July 18, 1954, at the Baptist Church in Osborn. They celebrated 50 years together until his passing on October 19, 2004.

They were the parents of Kathy Sue, Morris G Best, Jr., Kimberly Gayle, and Guy William. Elanor was active in their children’s school activities. She enjoyed summers when their children were home.

She began working at Cameron Mutual Insurance in 1979 and retired as a secretary in 1999. She enjoyed her work and many friends there.

Elanor was known for artwork and her murals. She loved children. She and Morris began the Franklin Graham Ministry and Operation Christmas Child at the First Baptist Church in Pattonsburg. She taught young adults Sunday school for many years and then Adult Women’s Sunday school. She enjoyed teaching and then helping in Vacation Bible School.

In the fall of 1990, she felt a call to start a women’s prison ministry at the Daviess-Dekalb Regional Jail in Pattonsburg.

In 2016, Elanor became interested in family history and wrote a book, “Abducted,” which was published in 2018. She was also a member of the DAR and the First Baptist Church of Pattonsburg.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Margaret Mills, Doris Kirkpatrick, and Mary Olsen; brother, William Francis McMahill and sister-in-law, Norma Best.

Those she leaves to mourn are her children, Kathy (Dan) Burger, Columbia SC, Morris, Jr., (Joyce) Best, Bethany, MO, Kim (John) Smith, Venice, FL, and Bill (Suzanne) Best, Montrose, MO; sister, Anne Wolfe, Osborn, MO; grandchildren, Ryan Best, Jonathan (Sarah) Best, Andy Burger, Mark Burger, Kelsy (Michael) DeMeo, Kirsten (Michael) Joyce, Lillie Smith and Braden Best; and great grandchildren, Madi and Quinn Best, Max Chessley and Finn Morris DeMeo, Hayes Michael, Graham Martin, and William Thomas Joyce and Andrew Bennett Burger.

Marilyn Lee (Taylor) Powell passed from this life on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Mosaic Life Care. She was born February 1st, 1932 in St. Joseph, MO to the late Clifford Taylor and Frances (Calvert) Taylor. She graduated from Savannah High School in 1950, and attended Gard Business University in St. Joe. She retired from the Andrew County Clerk’s office in 1995 after 18 years of service.&nbsp;

She married William Powell on June 14, 1952. He passed away in 2008. She was also preceded in death by a son, Terry Powell, and a brother, Gary Taylor.&nbsp;

She is survived by her daughter, Tana Lance, daughter-in-law, Julie Powell, grandchildren Sierra (Aaron) Matthews, Sheena (Jason) Lance-Nold, Zachary Powell, and Sandy Lance; and great grandchildren Easton &amp; Grayson Matthews, Savannah &amp; Brody Nold, and Jaxon &amp; Baker Powell.

She was a member of the Savannah United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and Andrew County Museum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the United Methodist Church or Andrew County Senior Center.

He was born August 20, 1954 in Macon, Georgia, to Luther and Esther (Vaughn) Bailey.

Ron was a retired Correctional Officer at Western Missouri Correctional Center in Cameron, Missouri.

Ron served in the U.S. Navy from 1973-1976 on the USS Coral Sea.

Survivors include his son, Ron Bailey II of St. Joseph, Missouri; his father, Luther F. Bailey of Tucker, Georgia; siblings, Michael Bailey (Cindy) of Fernandina Beach, Florida, Donald Bailey (Janet) of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Donna Crucefix (Dave) of Cumming, Georgia; other extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at St. Paul Episcocal Church&nbsp; on Wednesday, Junes 28, 2023 at 9:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
