Robert L. Glidewell, 86, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023.

He was born January 1, 1937, to Nova and Ethel (Meeker) Glidewell in Galt, Missouri.

Robert married Verna JoDean Holland on December 5, 1970, and they shared 46 years together until her passing in 2016. He worked as a foreman for B&amp;B Building Services for many years until his retirement.

Robert enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar, singing and watching his wrestling. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandbabies. Robert also loved his pets, Splash the cat and Tweety the bird.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Verna JoDean, and his siblings.

Survivors include his children, Rob Glidewell (Joy) and Christie Ellis (Rick); grandchildren, Amara Lukehart (Cory), Autumn Boeh (Ethan) Dawson Pike and Carley Pike; six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was born February 8, 1963, to Arena L. (Cruse) Brewer and William J. Brewer, Sr.

He was known for his friendly disposition and raspy laugh; Mikey truly had a heart of gold. He was an avid softball player and devout Chiefs fan. Those who loved him remember him fondly in jerseys of red and gold, sporting his favorite cap and with a Budweiser in hand.

Mikey loved his family. He was a loving father, son, and brother. Throughout his life he made several friends whom he had grown to love like family. Meeting him was making a friend for life. Whether watching a game, tailgating, or being on the baseball field, he was his happiest self when surrounded by the people he loved.

Mikey was a very hard worker throughout his life. He was gainfully employed by National Beef for almost 12 years.

Survivors include his children, Syleisha Brewer, Marshona Seawright, Jade Seawright, and Mikah Brewer; grandchildren, Layauna Nelson, Kingston Brown, Skye Moss, Kanan Jaire, and Kashmir Arena; siblings, William (Jimmy) J. Thomas O. Parisoff, Sr., passed away on April 30, 2023, in Overland Park, Kansas. Born on December 9, 1937, in St. Joseph, Missouri, Tom was the son of Ottis and Anna (Lucas) Parisoff. He was a 1955 graduate of Christian Brothers High School.

Tom was a devoted husband, father, and friend who will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. His family brought immense joy and pride to his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Mary Parisoff, their cherished children, Thomas Parisoff, Jr. (Penny), Terri Curry (Jeff) Jennifer Combs (Kevin), and Chris Parisoff (Maggie). He was known as Poppy to his grandchildren, Lauren Combs, Christopher Combs, Bryson Herbert, Ryan Herbert, Mia Parisoff, Alex Parisoff and Nylah Parisoff; great-grandson, Thomas Paz; sister, Frances Bidding; sister-in-law, Irene Ramirez, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Ottis and Anna, and siblings, Ottie Parisoff, Gus Parisoff and Alex Parisoff.

Tom was a proud member of the Air National Guard. As a resident of St. Joseph, Missouri, he owned and operated Parisoff's Drive-In Market with his three brothers, Gus, Alex and Ottie, a thriving local business that served the community for several decades. Tom was also a licensed realtor with Prudential Summers Realtors. His dedication to his work and the people he served was evident in the countless relationships he built with customers and fellow business owners alike. He will be remembered for his quick smile and gracious laugh. His calm demeanor put others at ease.

In addition to his successful career as a business owner, Tom was an active member of various local associations and organizations, such as the Knights of Columbus, St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church, and the Aircraft Owners &amp; Pilots Association. He believed in the importance of giving back to his community and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Tom's involvement in these groups allowed him to make a lasting impact on the lives of many and will serve as a testament to his selflessness and commitment to the betterment of his community.

Damon Dallas Lane Denton, a friendly and loving young man, passed away on the 27th of April, 2023, at the age of 20. Born on the 29th of May, 2002, in St. Joseph, Missouri, Damon was well-known for his caring nature and commitment to his family and friends.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Christine Benning and Raymond Tracy; and his great-grandfather, Eugene Norton. He is survived by his loving parents, Christopher (Megan) Denton and Barbara Tracy; siblings, Shalie, Savada, Shyla, and D.J.; grandparents, Brenda, Karen (Dana), and Shelly; great-grandmother, Dorothy; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends who were like brothers and sisters to him (NLMB).

Damon loved spending time working out, building friendships, and sharing his drive and determination with others. In addition, Damon enjoyed competing with friends in Call of Duty on the Xbox.

As a member of the St. Joseph Youth Alliance, Damon took pride in helping his local community and forging strong connections. Those who were fortunate enough to know him through this organization will remember his infectious laugh and enormous heart.

His impact on those who knew him will not be forgotten. The lessons he shared through his kindness, humility, and love will be carried forward by his parents, siblings, and the multitude of friends and family whom he touched in his brief time on this Earth. Henrietta “Penny” Ehrlich, 88, Leavenworth passed away Friday, April 28, 2023. She was born June 24, 1934 to Henry and Lillie (Jantz) Bush in Shattuck Oklahoma.

She graduated from Shattuck Oklahoma High School and received her Bachelors form St. Mary’s College. She married Roy Lee Ehrlich in 1954.

&nbsp;Penny was active in her Christian Church. She enjoyed music, gardening, and her family.

Penny is survived by her four children, Melinda Marcum, Mark Ehrlich (Tammy Swafford), Mitchell (Regina) Ehrlich, Monna (Vaughn) Jenkins, five grandchildren, Alisha (Matthew) Thorsen, Christopher (Lenae) Ehrlich, Jesse (Elizabeth) Jenkins, Aaron (Tina) Ehrlich, Daniel Ehrlich, four great grandchildren, Matthew Thorsen, Noah Thorsen, Etta Ehrlich, Cosmo Ehrlich, one sibling Roy Marie Cross.

&nbsp;She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband, two siblings, Delaine Peil, Junior Jantz and a son in law, Reid Marcum.

KANSAS CITY, KS – Marie Jane “Sally” Perez, 95, of Kansas City, KS, passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at her home surrounded by her children.&nbsp;

She was born July 9, 1927, in Lillis, KS. She attended grade school in Neuchatel and graduated from Onaga High School, where she was voted president of her Freshman class and perfomed as a majorette in the marching band. After graduation from high school, she moved to Topeka and found a job making parts for the B-29 Superfortress during World War II. &nbsp;&nbsp;

She married Evaristo J. “Everett” Perez on June 12, 1949, in Iowa, and they eventually settled in Kansas City, KS. She worked at the Snow Cap Restaurant, Russell Stover’s, Hallmark, and the deli at K-Mart.

She loved to travel. She and Everett made several trips to Mexico, and numerous trips to Washington, to visit their son, Joseph, and see the sites. Most summers were spent in Onaga and Duluth, KS, where she was always busy – gardening, decorating, and exploring landmarks from her youth.

Holidays were always a special time.&nbsp; Grandma always has a special treat bag made up for each of the grandkids when they came to visit on Easter and Halloween. She especially loved decorating the house at Christmas time with snowmen and her Christmas trees and houses.

Sally like spending quiet time with a book or a crossword puzzle.&nbsp; She played the piano, crocheted blankets and sewed quilts for many years, but eventually had to give it up due to the crippling effects of Rheumatoid Arthritis. For many years she continued to find creative ways to accomplish tasks despite her limitations, and managed to occupy her time by completing numerous Thomas Kincaid jigsaw puzzles. When she was no longer able to do that, she kept her mind sharp by balancing her checkbook down to the penny every month. She was a strong woman, who preserved and kept up the good fight until the very end.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Evaristo Perez, her parents, John (Jack) L. Hazlett and Mildred G. Dodds Kelly, and two brothers, Duane and Rufus Hazlett.

Sally will be dearly missed by all who knew her, especially her four children and their families. She is survived by her two sons, Joseph Perez of Marysville, WA and Timothy Perez (Tammy) of Kansas City, KS, her two daughters, Julie Johnson (Mike) and Rebecca Lynn, both of Kansas City, KS; eleven grandchildren, Chassidy Spaniol, John (Jamie) Johnson, Jennifer (Jason) Keller, Ashley (Patrik) Schantell, Tim (Christie) Perez, Emily (Moises) Perez, Josef (Abigail) Perez, Chad (Trinity) Lynn, Cortney (Steve) Webster, Kevin (Melissa) Heyd, and William Sangelo; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Sally will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March10th and from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga, KS, where family and friends will meet from Noon until 2:00 p.m. Cremation will follow the visitation and burial at will be at a later date in the Neuchatel Cemetery.

She is survived by her two sons, Joseph Perez of Marysville, WA and Timothy Perez (Tammy) of Kansas City, KS, her two daughters, Julie Johnson (Mike) and Rebecca Lynn, both of Kansas City, KS; eleven grandchildren, Chassidy Spaniol, John (Jamie) Johnson, Jennifer (Jason) Keller, Ashley (Patrik) Schantell, Tim (Christie) Perez, Emily (Moises) Perez, Josef (Abigail) Perez, Chad (Trinity) Lynn, Cortney (Steve) Webster, Kevin (Melissa) Heyd, and William Sangelo; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.Sally will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March10th and from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga, KS, where family and friends will meet from Noon until 2:00 p.m. Cremation will follow the visitation and burial at will be at a later date in the Neuchatel Cemetery.<figure>

Joseph Dee Lunt, 83 formerly of Platte City, MO, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at North K.C. Hospital. Joe was born October 21, 1939, in Grandview, MO to Everil Allen and Hannah Lee (Garrett) Lunt. 

He attended school in Lone Jack, MO. Joe married Sharon Kay Reynolds on January 27, 1961, in Lee’s Summit, MO. He served his country as a hospital medic in the U.S. Army from 1961 – 1963. Joe later served in the National Guard Until 1976; worked at Fairview Farms in Platte County; and afterwards, worked for the City of Platte City for 20 years. He also worked as a skycap for American Airlines and worked at McCormick Distilling in Weston from 2005 – 2015. Joe was a member of the First Baptist Church of Platte City. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Sharon. He is survived by his 4 children Tracy (Mike) Large, Ron (Cheri) Lunt, Jerry (Judy) Lunt and Jayme Lunt; 7 grandkids Dusty (Ali) Kossen, Cody Kossen, Jenna Lunt, Kyle Lunt, Ryan Lunt, Garrett (Summer Large), Erica (Colt) Goodwin; 2 great-grandkids Chip Frey and Whitt Kossen; 1 brother Martin Lunt; 2 brothers-in-law Jim (Cindy) Reynolds, and John (Shirley) Reynolds; 1 sister-in-law Shirley Reynolds (J.C. Schrutchfield); and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Joe always had a smile and a story to tell. He loved watching the wildlife near his home and gardening. 

Following cremation, A Celebration of Life is planned by Joe’s family upcoming in June with inurnment At Rose Hill Cemetery in Latour, MO. Updates will be posted on the funeral home website.

Trevor was a 2017 graduate of Maysville High School. After graduation, he served four years in the Army Reserves.&nbsp;

He was an amazing artist and loved to express himself through his tattoos. Trevor was a hard worker and liked working on his vehicles. He enjoyed the outdoors, had a huge heart for dogs, and always treasured hanging out with family and friends.&nbsp;

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Junior Utt; infant brother, Jarrell Dawson; and aunt, Tisha Bohon.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Louise Ann Briner, age 77, of Rosendale MO, passed away on April 29, 2023 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on July 31, 1945 in St. Joseph, MO to Nova and Ethel (Meeker) Glidewell.

On August 12, 1961, she married Larry E. Briner in St. Joseph, MO. To this union, four sons were born. Larry preceded her in death in 2013.

Louise loved everything to do with the outdoors. She loved to mow, tend to her flower beds and watch the wildlife. She also loved to go camping, fishing, deer hunting and traveling to new places. Most of all, she treasured her family and was always there to lend a helping hand.

Louise devoted 32 years to working at Laverna Village Nursing Home in Savannah, MO. She deeply cared for the residents of the home and was an advocate for elderly care.

Louise is survived by her sons, Randy (Barb) of Richland MO, Roy of Sioux City, IA, Edward of Bolckow MO, and Jeff of Rosendale MO.&nbsp;&nbsp;She is also survived by grandchildren, Zachary, Cameron, Scottie, Randy, Stormy, Angela, Jacob, Austin, Jonathon, Nathan, Cheyann, Destiny, and several great-grandchildren.

No memorial service will be held at this time.

She graduated from Benton High School class of 1946, and retired from Mead Products after 34 years of service. She married Louis Taysen on August 29, 1958 in Aurora, CO. She was a member of  the Wesley United Methodist Church. 

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Louis A. Taysen, daughter, Lori Taysen, sons, Mark Ferguson and Terry Allen Ferguson, sisters, Donna "Ann" Crockett, Charlotte Sandlin, and Mary Holtsclaw, brothers, John Sandlin and Ralph "Bud" Sandlin, granddaughter, Casey Ferguson, and great grandson, Alexander Lynn Brown.

Sarah was preceded in death by her father, Harold Downing, and brother, Emerson Downing.&nbsp;

She was born December 31, 1954 in Topeka, the daughter of Howard and Florence Feik Ritchey. She graduated from Topeka West High School in 1972.

Norma was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Topeka.

She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse.

She married Charles J. Luebbe on June 1, 1991 in Topeka. He survives, of the home.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Howard, Jr. and a sister, Sally.

Other survivors include a son, Shane Wettengel (Julie) and a daughter, Erica Fuchs (Bruce), all of Topeka, two brothers, Frank and Floyd, both of Topeka, three sisters, Linda, Barbara and Mary, all of Topeka, five grandchildren, Kyle, Emme, Shalah, Shawna and Jaylen, five great grandchildren, Clover, Archer, Adrian, Dayana and Juliana, and four step-great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Addyson, Justin and Jordan.&nbsp;

Ann Marie Harris, 75, of Dearborn, Missouri passed away Tuesday, April 25th, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri. 

Visitation will be at Vaughn Funeral Home, Weston, Missouri on Thursday, May 11th, 2023, from 5-7pm with Rosary at 6:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be offered for Ann on Friday, May 12th, 2023, at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Weston, Missouri. 

Ann was born May 10th, 1947, in Lisle, Illinois to Joseph &amp; Helen Shimek. 

She worked for many years in Chicago, Illinois, for various financial institutions, which is where she met her husband, Mark L. Harris. Ann &amp; her daughter, Jenny moved to Weston, Missouri in 1983, to be with Mark. Ann was very active in many volunteer positions. She served on St. Luke’s Northland Hospital Auxiliary, Missouri Hospital Association, Parkville Women’s Clinic, and the Holy Trinity Catholic Church Women’s Guild. Ann devoted many hours to the Arts &amp; Environment Ministry at Holy Trinity. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Harris; parents, Joseph &amp; Helen Shimek; and her brother, Joseph Shimek. 

Ann is survived by her sister, Jan Kahl of Mendota, Illinois; her daughter, Jenny (Dave) Marsh; grandchildren; Joseph &amp; Emma Marsh, all of Platte City, Missouri; sister-in-law, Linda Shimek; niece, Stacy (Royce) Harmon of Franklin, Indiana; and her mother-in-law, Harriet Harris, of North Kansas City.

Ann Marie Harris (Shimek) 1947 - 2023

Ed Zion, 76, Bolckow, Missouri; passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023.

Ed was born on February 5, 1947 in St. Joseph, Missouri to the late Howard Wilson and Blanche Mildred (Wright) Zion. He was raised in Fillmore, Missouri and graduated from North Andrew R-VI High School.&nbsp;

Ed was known as “the handy-man” and was never found without a set of tools. He was a mechanic, and owned and operated Ed’s DX Service in Rosendale, Missouri from 1960’s-1980’s. He later worked at the Andrew County School District as a bus driver and mechanic.&nbsp;

Ed was a member of Rea Union Church, the Rosedale Fire Department, the Rosendale Lions Club and was an active member of the NRA. His favorite past times were staying busy working on things and farming.

Ed married Ruth Ann Townsend on April 5, 1968, and recently celebrated fifty-five years of marriage.&nbsp;

Ed is survived by his wife, Ruth; son, Robert “Flip” Zion (Beth); daughter, Lisa Bacon (Randall); seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and brother, Melvin Zion (Sue).

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his son, Melvin Dean Zion and daughter, Kathy Lynn Zion.

Graveside Service and Interment 2:00 PM Monday, May 1, 2023 at Fillmore Cemetery, Fillmore, Missouri.&nbsp;

The family will receive friends 2:00 to 4:30 PM Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel.

The family has requested memorial donations to North Andrew Scholarship Foundation.
