Donald L. Montgomery, 74, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

He was born September 15, 1949 in Emporia, Kansas to Donald Harry and Alberta Faye (Vandenburg) Montgomery.

Don loved helping people. That was his life’s calling from God, to serve others in need. He didn’t look down on anyone. He was a great example of a Godly Man.

He enjoyed volunteering at the Salvation Army, mentoring children, testifying about his love of God, reading, and decorating.

Don was a member of the Downtown Rotary Club before his health prevented him from attending. When he lived in Fayetteville, Arkansas, he was a member of the Lions Club. He loved giving back to his church and community.

He loved a good party and fellowship with others.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and half-brother, Harold Goheen.

Survivors include his children, Faye Montgomery and Dawn (Montgomery) Collum; his children of the heart, Abigail Ramos and Brandi Goodwin; sister, Glenna (Montgomery) Noventy; half-sibling, Jesse Goheen; step-siblings, Laymond Goheen Jr., William Goheen, and Evelyn (Goheen) Hufford; 12 step-grandchildren; 9 step-great-grandchildren.
