udith K. Jenkins, 82, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away on January 17, 2024 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was born on November 18, 1941, in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Herbert and Patricia (Sheridan) Gorden.
Judith graduated from Central High School in 1959 and spent much of her life nurturing her family and serving her community. She lovingly raised her children, Jeff Jenkins(Jonna), Patrick Jenkins (Amy), Chris Jenkins (Shannon), and Angie Gardner (Harry), and her home became a place of laughter, love, and lifelong memories for her cherished grandchildren, Johnathan Jenkins, Michael Jenkins (Gabby), Kelsey Pettyjohn (Devan), Keeton Gardner (Hailey), Madison Knight (Blake), Mackenzie Jenkins, Zachary Jenkins, Candous O’Neil (Brian), Sara McCown (Bill), Travis Stacey (Patricia), and Chasity Jenkins.
The joy of her life continued to flourish with the birth of her great-grandchildren, Kemper, Falynn, Dayton, Trey, Kassandra, Joshua, Liam, and Solara. She is also survived by her brother, Mike Gorden (Mary).
Judith was a devoted member of the Wyatt Park Baptist Church and found great joy in working in the church nursery. Her interests extended to quiet evenings spent with crossword puzzles, the excitement of game shows, and the satisfaction of a good book. Her passion for these simple pleasures was matched only by her love of babysitting her grandchildren, whom she adored above all else.
Judith's life was blessed with a love story that spanned over five decades with her beloved husband, Rudolph Jenkins, Jr., who preceded her in death. She is also now reunited with her parents, Herbert and Patricia Gorden.
