Jerry West, 85, of Smithville, MO passed away, July 5, 2024.

He was born on September 12, 1938 to John Charles and Opal Grace (Waters) West near Edgerton, MO. Jerry graduated from Gower High School.

On August 22, 1981 he married Jane Moore. After their marriage they lived in Trimble and made their home in Smithville. His wife, Jane, preceded him in death on April 24, 2021.

Jerry worked for T.L. Wilkerson Farms and retired from Farmland after 30 plus years.

He was a member of the Trimble Baptist Church. Jerry enjoyed cruising the streets, playing cards, bingo, and was a sports fanatic. When he was younger, he was a member of the Dearborn Saddle Club and enjoyed horse shows and riding. Jerry loved being around people.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Karen West.

Jerry is survived by his children Barbara Lamb and Keith (Jude) Bruce; grandchildren Calen (Heather) Lamb, Allison Lamb, Kellie (Terry) Scoggins, Dennis Oberfoell, Nick Oberfoell and Elyse Oberfoell; great-grandchildren Rylee, Gunnar, Eli, MaKenna, Brynlee, Tre, and Karson; siblings, Charlie West, Larry West, Pete (Nancy) West, Kay (Ron) Jackson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 10th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service.

She later graduated as part of the first class to graduate in the Stormont-Vail School of Nursing in 1950 and helped start the school nursing program in the Atchison County Community school district in 1966. She retired as a registered nurse and enjoyed traveling, sewing and helping at church with various projects.

She was married to Dale R. Bodenhausen, her high school sweetheart on December 31, 1950, in Horton, KS. Dale preceded her in death on Sept. 23, 2013. Survivors include two sons: Steven Bodenhausen, Horton, KS, and Mark Bodenhausen, Muscotah, KS, a daughter in law, Linda Bodenhausen, Muscotah, KS, three grandchildren Christopher (Megan) Bodenhausen, Muscotah, Ryan (Kayla) Bodenhausen, Muscotah and Jeni (Bob) Hespe, Overland Park, KS, great grandchildren, Caleb and Natalie Bodenhausen, Brinley and Bryer Bodenhausen, Tommy and Luke Hespe. Randall "Randy" Kieser Sr. 68, of St. Joseph, MO, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024 in St. Joseph. He was born March 26, 1956 in St. Joseph, son of late Juanita and Lawrence Kieser. 

He graduated from Elwood High School, and worked at Blue Side for 31 years. Randy enjoyed camping at Table Rock Lake, riding on the boat and golf cart, fishing, and loved playing the saxophone. And he did it all with his best friend, Steve right beside him. 

Randall was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Darla &nbsp;Kieser.

Robert "Bobby" Trump 59, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024 in a St. Joseph, MO health care center. He was born August 24, 1964 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Elinor and Joseph Trump. 

He graduated from Central High School, class of 1982. He worked at Lifeline Foods as a Elevator Operator. Bobby enjoyed fishing, camping, he loved music and playing his guitar, he also loved working on things and was a fixer of many things. 

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Clinton Potter, and grandson Jameson Trump. On June 19, 1998, Bobby married Lisa (Potter) Trump and their families were united as one. 

She survives him of the home, and other survivors include their children, Dustin (Megan) Trump, Julie (Patrick) King, Jeff (Heather) Trump, Michael (Brandy) Miller, and Jessica Walker all of St. Joseph, MO, sisters, Ceclia Till, JoAnn Jackson, Karen Trump, Mona Dike, Margery Milbourn, Nancy Browning, and Camille Mondoux, a brother, Danny Trump, grandchildren, Jacob, Hadley, Jace, Jima, Jazimen, Paiden, Piper, Paizley Declan, Collin, Delaney, and Oaklyn, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, Keith Potter, Kenny Potter, Karl Potter, and Kirk Potter, sister-in-law, Lori Walker, and mother-in-law, Louise S. Robert "Bobby" Dale Trump 1964 - 2024

Raymond Edward Cline, 78, of Niangua MO, formally of Helena and St. Joseph, MO, returned home to his heavenly father on July 1st, 2024, while surrounded by his family.

Raymond was born at home October 18th, 1945 to Morris and Birdie (DeWeese) Cline in Dekalb, MO. They preceded him in death.&nbsp;

Raymond found love with Charlotte Frost. They were married on February 14th, 1993, in Weston, MO. She survives him of the home.&nbsp;

Raymond moved from Dekalb to the family farm in Helena, MO, in the 4th grade. He spent many years learning hard work on the farm but focused his free time on football, to which he excelled, at Savannah High School. It is fair to say he worked hard and played hard his entire life.&nbsp;

Raymond worked at Dugdale Packing Co. but soon found his livelihood as a heavy equipment operator working through the years for Lock Construction, the Local 101 Operating Engineers, and The International Union of Operating Engineers.

Raymond loved his family and friends and looked forward to each gathering. &nbsp;His favorite events were the families' annual fall weenie roast, a tradition which started as his birthday celebration, and the annual July homemade ice cream social. His presence will be missed when they gather for ice cream later this month. &nbsp;His specialty was homemade coffee ice cream.

Raymond never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. Throughout his life, whether it be at school, at work, racing at Savannah Speedway, on the CB radio, or at the local general store, he made a friend and had a story to tell. &nbsp;&nbsp;

No matter what brought him to it, he enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid outdoorsman who early in life enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and trap shooting. He also loved to garden and share the produce he grew and canned. He was a lifelong animal lover who spent his retirement years on the farm raising Black Angus cattle and German short-hair pointers.&nbsp;

Raymond was a member of the Helena Lions Club and the Missouri Trap Shooters Association. Raymond was an excellent shot and loved to shoot in both competition and in the backyard with friends and family.

The only thing he loved more than the outdoors was his family.

Along with his loving wife, Raymond is survived by his daughters Brenda (Bruce Dunn) Tritten, Helena, MO; &nbsp;Amy (Mike Shelton) Cline-Shelton, St. Joseph, MO, Sara Berry, Galt, MO, and his bonus children Tina Johnson, Republic, MO, and Jeff (Kerri) Ury, Urbandale, IA.

Grandchildren Andrew Tritten, Garet Cline, Dakota (Katie) Shelton, Gentry Cline, Colt Berry, Megan (Connor) Kimsey, Nicholas Johnson, Kaitlyn Ury and Jocelyn Ury. As well as 8 great-grandchildren.&nbsp;

Additional survivors include brothers Eugene (Helen) Cline, St. Joseph, MO, Herbert (Liz) Cline, Savannah, MO, sisters Betty Gill, Stewartsville, MO; Martha White, Grandview, MO; Susan (Jim) Parker, Kirksville, MO. Sister-in-law, Barbara (Carl) Landes, St. Joseph, MO; Brother-in-law, Wendel (Ella) Frost, Cleveland, TN. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Raymond was proceeded in death by his stepdaughter, Wendy (DeShon) Kirschbaum, a granddaughter; Samantha Vaughn; brother, Amos John "AJ" Cline; sisters, Marceas Reents and Nina Bouge all of St Joseph, MO. His father in-law and mother in-law, Marvin and Marjorie Frost, Gallatin, MO; And his most loyal canine companion, Lacy.

He leaves behind the most loyal group of friends who became like family at Hannah's General Store. Chances are, if he wasn't at home, you could find him having coffee and telling stories at Hannah's.&nbsp;

Raymond had a huge personality, and his passing clearly leaves a void. Now, we celebrate his life and legacy and can honor him with continued storytelling.&nbsp;

Raymond Cline 1945 - 2024

Robert “Bob” Dean Jones, 90, son of Ralph &amp; Emma Jones, one of six children, was a lifelong resident of Burlington Junction, Missouri born on May 12, 1934.

Bob departed this world on July 6, 2024 to be with Pauline, the love of his life of 64 years, with loved ones by his side.

After graduation he entered the Air Force as a mechanic. He later worked at MFA and was a lifetime farmer. Bob was feisty and quick-witted and had many lifelong friends.

He loved hunting, camping, fishing and went on many trips with his brothers and family.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Ralph “Bud” and Dennis; sister, Francis; and step-daughter Connie.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Robin Peterson (Mike); grandchildren, Chrissy, Patty, Zack and Whitney; great-grandchildren; brothers, Dick (Rose), Larry Lee (Glenda), and many nieces and nephews.

She was born December 26, 1989 in St. Joseph to David and Shawnee (Johnson) Heath. Senturie grew up in St. Joseph, graduating from Central High School in 2008.

She later moved to Cameron, Missouri, where she worked at Clinco for many years. She recently moved to Ottumwa to be near her family.

Senturie enjoyed all kinds of music and going on walks. She was outgoing, outspoken and funny, and enjoyed making others laugh.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents; grandfather, Maurice Johnson; grandparents, Richard and Phyllis Heath; and uncle, David Johnson.

She was born October 26, 1929, to Herman and Emma (Ladage) Linder in Cosby, MO.

She graduated from Savannah High School in 1947 and Guard Business School.

Dorothy and Robert Salisbury were married on December 27, 1950. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1994.

Dorothy was a homemaker and 4H Youth education assistant. She was involved in numerous social clubs. She loved baking, gardening, quilting and playing games with her family.

Her most prized possession was her family. She is survived by her five children and their spouses, David (Debra) Salisbury of Gravois Mills, MO, Daniel (Kathy) Salisbury of Kansas City, MO, Denise (Neil) Scott of Kearney, MO, Diane Salisbury of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Sue (Steve) Brammer of Lee’s Summit, MO; eight grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was born on May 13, 1980, in Kansas City, MO. Wayne grew up in Plattsburg and graduated from Plattsburg High School in 1998. He later attended EMT School.

Wayne was truck driver, enjoyed being with his family and friends and loved his dog Bella.

He was preceded in death by his father Donald Thomas Genson and his nephew Tyler Genson.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Ray Fletcher, daughter, Stacy Jo Jones-Fletcher, her parents, brother, Barney Smith, and a sister, Barb Watson.

He worked for the city of Elwood, Kansas, and M&amp;G Motors. For 37 years, he dedicated his time as an accountant at Hershewe &amp; Co PC, alongside his dear friend Joe Hershewe.

Donald was a fish hobbyist, avid supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs, and had a love of politics.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Carol Brower.

She loved her special cats, who she spoiled often.

Janice Searcy, 83, of Weston MO, was reunited with her sons on November 12th, 2023. She was born July 9th, 1940 in Platte County, MO. Janice was the daughter to Claude and Marguerite (Leipard) Vest Stevens. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sons, Joe and Jeff Searcy, brothers Harold and Mickey Vest. 

Janice is survived by her sister, Shirley Nixon(Norman), sister-in-laws, Shirley and Terry Vest, daughter-in-law, Charla, grandchildren, Jessica Sherwood (Tim) and Michaela Contreras (Jason), Matthew (Lauren) and Mitchell Searcy as well as her greatgrandchildren, Jackson, Brockston, and Kohlston Sherwood and Hudson and Belle Searcy. Janice was very unique and quite the character. 

She was spicy, silly and sweet. She loved people. Her favorite pasttime was meeting new people, making friends laugh and catching up on the latest gossip. She was probably best known for being strong and a hard worker. Janice retired from McCormick Distilling Company after 50 years. However, she liked to keep busy and never really retired. She had several other jobs over the years, sometimes many at a time. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.

Martha Jean “Peg” Surls, of Kansas City, MO passed away, June 30, 2024.

She was born on July 11, 1934 to Norton Payne and Marvin Anna (Chestnut) Boydston in Dearborn, MO. Martha graduated from Dearborn High School and attended the Blackwood Brothers School of Music.

On August 14, 1954 she was united in marriage to Merrill John Surls. After their marriage they lived in Independence, IA where Merrill was an Evangelist and Martha played the piano for their weekly television show. They moved to Tulsa, OK where their two sons were born. In 1962 they then moved to Kansas City. The family later moved to Colorado Springs, CO where she played piano and directed a musical ensemble for her church. In the early 90’s they returned to Kansas City where they retired. Martha was a member of Northland Cathedral where sang in the choir. Gospel music was a very important aspect of her life. Martha was a part of a ministry team from her church that shared their music with senior citizens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Stanley Boydston, Howard Boydston, Owen Boydston, Irvin Boydston, M.C. Boydston and sisters, Anna Eunice Palmer, Mildred Lober, and Adella Mae Foxworthy.

Harlan Baublit 86, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024 at his home. He was born September 17, 1937 in St. Joseph, MO, son of Lettie and Corbett Baublit. 

He married Ruby Bridgewater on August 13, 1994 and she survives of the home. Harlan served proudly in the United States Marine Corp. He worked as a Truck Driver. Harlan &nbsp;enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was a member of Marine Corp League and attended New Home Baptist Church. 

Harlan was preceded in death by his parents, son, Harlan Baublit Jr., brothers, Ronald, Aaron and Frank A. Baublit, sisters, Virginia Brown, Lenora Sparks, and an infant. 

Survivors include wife, Ruby Baublit of the home, daughter, Terrilee Baublit, Scappoose, OR, sons, Harlan E. (Jennifer) Baublit of Broussard, LA., and John Baublit of St. Joseph, MO, 3 grandsons, 3 grand daughters, 1 great grandchild and numerous, nieces and nephews.

David Albert Fritz, of Savannah, MO passed away on June 30, 2024 at home.

David was born on August 29, 1947 to Albert and Margaret Fritz in Falls City, NE.

After David graduated from Falls City High School in 1965, he served in the Army National Guard for 8 years.

While in the Guard he worked for Gibson's International Equipment. In 1981, he began working for Derr Equipment totaling 58 years of service as an International Harvester mechanic.

In 1981, David married Karen Voltmer Russell in Craig, MO. David and Karen went on to raise 5 children.&nbsp;

David enjoyed hunting, but always made it a priority to spend time with and loving on his grandkids.&nbsp;

He loved to watch them compete in sporting events and enjoying a meal afterwards to remind them what is really important....Family.

David was preceded in death by his parents and brother Gerald. &nbsp;

David is survived by his loving wife; Karen of the home, children; Angie Flowers (Mike), Tanya Alden (Jon), Jonathan Russell (Dana), Kristi Copeland (Scott), Clarissa Wollard (Jason). Carol Randolph, 84, St. Joseph, Missouri; passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Carol was born on August 22, 1939 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was a 1957 graduate of the Convent of the Sacred Heart, where she was involved in the Theta Alpha Phi Sorority.

Carol worked at the Buchanan County Courthouse Probate Court, where she was introduced by her future father-in-law, Attorney Lewis Randolph, Sr. to his son, Robert "Bob" Randolph. They were married on December 31, 1960 and celebrated forty-five years of marriage, until his passing in 2006. &nbsp;

Carol was a devoted wife, a loving mother to her three sons and a proud "Mema" to her two grandchildren. Her greatest joy was her family and loved attending her grandchildren's milestone achievements and activities. Carol and her family created many lasting memories on their family farm together. In addition to trips to the farm, she also enjoyed traveling abroad. Carol loved social outings with friends and family and their fellowship at the Eagles Lodge, especially the music of the Friends and Family Band.

Carol is survived by her three sons; Kendall Randolph (Andrea), Kevin Randolph and Kenton Randolph (Maleea) and two grandchildren, Briana and Bryson Randolph.

In addition to her husband, Carol was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Nagle and grandparents, John and Nellie (Groh) Salanski.

Celebration of Life for Carol will be held at a later date. A register book will be available to sign at Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel.

Larry Dean Todd of St Joseph passed away June 29th peacefully at his home with his family. Larry was born September 22, 1937 in Fillmore, MO to George and Eva Todd, where he was one of eight children. Mother, father along with Siblings Sonny, Bill, Vivian, Francis, Leota and Imo preceded his death. Sister, Nancy Edwards lives in Erie, Kansas.&nbsp; He graduated from Fillmore High School, married Helen Ramsey and had a son, Jeff Todd. Larry spent most of his life in St Joseph MO where he worked at Grey’s manufacturing for over 35 years.

He later married Laurie Todd in 1973 who passed away in 2008. Surviving is son Jeff Todd who lives with his wife, Deanna in North Carolina., Stephen Stockman and his wife Lisa of Morgan Hills, CA and daughter Angela Stockman of St Joseph, MO. He was a proud grandfather of grandchildren, Matthew, Chris, Alyssa, Kalyn, Jenna and great grandson Barrett.

He will be remembered as a loving quiet Father, Grandfather, and friend who loved to hunt, fish, and watch his KC Chiefs and Royals.

Funeral service 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Audrey L. Jahnke, 90, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 1, 2024.

She was born December 15, 1933 in New Athens, Illinois, to William John Stolte, Jr., and Myrtle Lucy (Burke) Stolte. She grew up in New Athens.

Audrey married Harvey D. Jahnke, Sr. on February 10, 1951 in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2015.

Audrey was a military wife, traveling the world with Harvey’s career. After 20 years of service, Harvey retired and moved the family to St. Joseph.

She was the manager of the Infants Department at North Belt Kmart for 28 years before retirement.

Family was most important to Audrey. She loved her kids and grandkids dearly and even raised a couple of them.

Audrey also enjoyed crocheting and trips to the lake.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Harvey; her parents; and siblings, Roger Stolte, Marie Neville-Scott, and Chris Stolte.

Survivors include her children, Harvey Jahnke, Jr. (Linda), Nancy Root (Richard), and Rhonda Stevens (Charles); grandchildren, Shannon Jahnke, Harvey Weaklend, Tina Brock, Tamara Ricardez, Ryan Root, James McAdams, and Molly Vecsey; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Bill Stolte and Sally Sedlacek; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; and beloved dogs, Bella, River and Barkely.
