Kevin Bent, 59, of St. Joseph, Missouri, died peacefully at home Wednesday, December 25 of 2024. Born and raised in Norwood, MA, he was the son of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Connelly) Bent. He attended King Philip High School in Wrentham, MA.
Kevin was employed as a car salesman with Sherman Chevrolet at the age of 16 where he remained for many years. He then had a brokering business with his father, Wrentham State School, game-stop & Staples (where he met his wife :-). He finished with ABA American Business Associates with his father.
Kevin had a deep passion for karate and earned a second-degree brown belt. He also developed the program ‘Kevin Bents Martial Science’ to teach young students’ discipline and confidence.
As well, Kevin had a passion for Buddhism and words of wisdoms which he loved to share. “Should, Would, Could and If” do not exist.
Kevin loved bowling and earned his pro card in 2004.
He will be remembered as a loving, humorous man. He thoroughly enjoyed making people laugh and enjoyed hearing laughter from anyone he encountered.
Kevin is survived by his wife Gisele Bessette of St. Joseph, four step-daughters: Beth and her husband Kyle Bernache of Pascoag, Rhode Island; Nicole Robin of Woonsocket, Rhode Island; Jennifer and her husband Phil Dicks of Cumberland, Rhode Island; and Gisele Robin of Saint Joseph, Missouri; five grandchildren, Logan, Xavier, Lincoln, Lorelai and Freya; his sister Karen and her husband Donny Colpak of Andover, Massachusetts; two nieces, Bridget and her husband Matt Rymanowski of Norfolk, Massachusetts, and Andrea Rasicot of Cumberland, Rhode Island. He was also the brother of the late Stephen Bent.
Kevin wished to donate his body to science, hoping that he can help future research and/or new doctors. He is currently in the care of ScienceCare and his remains will be cremated.
Celebration of Life 4:00 – 8:00 P.M., Friday, January 3, 2025, held in his home town in Rhode Island at the BB7 Elevator Room located above Party Town, 179 Front Street, Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
