Marjorie Yocum 1929 - 2025

Marjorie Sue Yocum, 95, Mound City, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025.

She was born October 22, 1929 to Walter L. and Mary A. (Maines) Andrews at their family home in Mound City, Missouri.

Marjorie married Darrel Yocum on May 28, 1950.

Marjorie was the valedictorian of Mound City High School's class of 1947. Marjorie began her career as a bookkeeper and held numerous positions at Exchange Bank beginning in 1950, and retiring in 1992. Behind the scenes, she funded and helped start Yocum Service Inc. with her husband, Darrel in 1978.

A member of First Christian Church, Marjorie embodied the values of faith and service through her active participation in the Omega Club and Circle of Ruth. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her immense joy. Marjorie's servant's heart touched many lives, and her memory will continue to inspire acts of kindness and generosity in the lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; siblings, Ted Andrews (Elizabeth), Mary Hubbard (John), and Betty Yocum (Junior).

Survivors include her son, Alan Yocum (Lisa); grandchildren, Jennifer Daniels (Rod), Ellen Buntz (Luke), Jodi Sue Yocum, Lauren Rosier (Dylan), and Abigail Wilmes (Morgan); 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Farewell Services and Public Livestream 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 11, First Christian Church, Mound City, Missouri. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service.
