&nbsp;Wayne W. Myers, 80, of rural Denton, Kansas met his Savior Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Medical Lodge in Atchison, Kansas. &nbsp;

Wayne was born January 19, 1943, to William and Harriet (Gish) Myers, in Horton, KS. Wayne faced many heartaches and struggles throughout his life, starting the day after he was born. &nbsp;

Wayne grew up in Denton, working on the farm. Wayne worked various jobs throughout his life mostly farming and heavy equipment operation. In 1979, Wayne married Sheila Davis and they were married within 3 months of meeting. Wayne was a quiet, kind man. &nbsp;He never met an enemy! Later Wayne was blessed with one daughter, Bridget, and later 5 beautiful grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren who will all miss him terribly.&nbsp;

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila in 2009, (the only time I ever saw him cry), by his parents, William and Harriet, stepmother Naomi, stepmother Betty, brother Gerald and brother-in-law Leonard Thompson. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Wayne was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bendena, Kansas.&nbsp;

He is survived by his daughter, Bridget, Atchison, KS. Grandchildren Sgt. Malachi Manis of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky; Caleb Manis of St. Joseph, MO, Sierra Manis (Austin), Dakota and Gracelynn Taylor all of Atchison, KS.&nbsp; Brother Lewis (Patricia) of Troy, KS and sister Sylvia Thompson of Denton, Kansas. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.&nbsp;

FUNERAL: Graveside, Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 11:30 AM at the Denton Cemetery, Denton, KS.

Rosa Lee “Rosie” Turpin, of Atchison, Kansas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother during her 90 years of life, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2023.

Rosie was born on April 28, 1933, in Effingham, Kansas, daughter of George and Katharine (Schneider) Regan. She attended St. Joseph’s Grade School and graduated from Mount St. Scholastica Academy in 1951.

At the age of 14, she met a handsome neighbor boy who would later become her husband. She and Donald Turpin were married on July 5, 1952 at Keesler Air Force Base, in Biloxi, Mississippi. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary last summer.

Rosie spent much of her adult life raising children and grandchildren. She also worked as a bus driver for Benedictine College throughout the 1970’s, transporting students back and forth from north to south campus. In 1978, she became a chauffeur for the Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica. She worked for them for 33 years, until her retirement in 2011. Rosie loved her job, and became close friends with many of the Sisters. After her retirement, she and Don spent the next 9 years as full-time babysitters for some of their great-grandchildren.&nbsp;

In her younger years, Rosie enjoyed playing and coaching softball. She coached all of her daughters as members of the Turpin’s Tornadoes. She took pride in working hard throughout her life. This was especially evident in the way she took care of her home and yard, mowing it herself until she was almost 80. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her stubbornness and the never-ending love that she gave to her family.

Rosie is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bob Regan; sisters, Mary Ellen Matthews, Kathleen Badger, Eileen Graves, and Marjorie Willming. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Michael Coulter; grandson Tim Phillips and great-grandson Jayden Langan.

Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Don Turpin; children: Mike (Tracey) Turpin, Chris (Melissa) Turpin, Kathy Phillips, Sherry Coulter, Vicki Bennett, Pam (Mike) Andre, Tracie Turpin; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Rosie’s life will be celebrated on Monday, June 19, 2023, beginning with a visitation at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery and a lunch will be served at the church basement after the burial. A parish rosary will be on Wednesday June 14th, at 5:30 P.M. with visitation to follow until 7:00 at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Sharon will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Sharon was born on August 19, 1945 in Atchison to Charles William and Virginia Ruth (Thomas) Garrett. She grew up in Atchison before moving to Effingham during high school. She graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1963. As a child she enjoyed spending time with her grandparents and that was when she started rocking in a rocking chair. No matter what house she was in or porch she was on, she was rocking.

Sharon went to work at Snowden Mize in Atchison after graduation.&nbsp;

She married Robert Meade on February 10, 1968, at St. Ann’s Church in Effingham, Kansas. As a young newlywed she watched her husband leave for the Army in November 1968. She continued working and praying for Robert’s safe return from Vietnam.

In 1971, they welcomed a daughter, Bobbi Jo, and a son, Jeffrey Alan, in 1974. Sharon worked hard to help raise her family. When the kids were young, she worked at Medicalodge as a nurses’ aide. She worked at Rockwell as a security guard. She at one time worked three jobs; St. Joseph’s Church, Theatre Atchison, and the Atchison Presbyterian Church as a custodian before retiring. Sharon was a dedicated mother and wife. She volunteered to be a room mother and head room mother during their grade school years. She was a member of the Community Club and served as Carnival Chairman as well. She never missed Jeff’s ball games or Bobbi Jo’s band concerts. She was commonly known as “mom” or “band mom”.

Sharon was a devoted catholic and a member of St. Joseph’s Church. She was very involved in St. Matthew’s circle, Alter Society, Daughter’s of Isabella, and the Church Bazaar, where she could be found at the Fancy Booth. She was faithful with adoration, praying every Thursday at 1:00 P.M. She many times covered the following time slot as well. Sharon was a life time member of Girl Scouts, and received many awards, including the Honor Pin. She was a leader, trainer, consultant, and leader for her granddaughter’s troop. She volunteered at The Amelia Earhart Festival, Junior Guild, and President of The Garden Club. She dedicated herself, along with Robert, to Ducks Unlimited earning a 25 year pin.

Sharon was a member of St. Joseph's Church. She was a former member and past president of the Daughter’s of Isabella. Sharon also participated in Matthew’s Circle and Adoration at the church. She was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of America. Sharon was very active in her community and had a passion for volunteering,

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Henry and Maude (Matthias) Garrett and Olin and Edna (Burch) Thomas, uncles Jim and Louie Garrett, Bud and Maxine Thomas. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Justin Behler.

Sharon is survived by her husband Robert, of the home, her daughter Bobbi Jo (Pat Neumann), her son Jeffrey Alan, and a brother Richard (Virginia) Garrett; sister-in-laws, Gayla Tempton, Cheryl (Cliff) Lowry, and a number of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Sharon loved all her pets throughout the years, feeding her birds, flower gardening, and sports. She could always be found watching an NCAA basketball or football game, and NFL games. She entertained her kids and grandkids with songs and making animal sounds.

Kathleen M. "Kathy" Navinskey 1954 - 2023

Robert "Bob" George Row 93, of St. Joseph, MO. went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at his home in St. Joseph, MO. He was born May 30, 1930 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Katherine and Mendell Row. 

He graduated from Benton High School and St. Joseph Junior College. He married Margaret "Gail" Zuptich on April 19, 1982. &nbsp;He served in the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard. He retired in 2000 at the age of 70 from the United States Postal Service as a Carrier. He was a member of the Million Mile Club, an award for a Million Miles or 30 years with out a preventable accident, he loved his job. Bob enjoyed sports, was an avid Mizzou, Kansas City Chiefs, and Royals fan, he was a 49 year member of the Masonic Lodge, past member Scottish Rite, a member of the National Association of Letters Carriers, a life member of the VFW, and American Legion. 

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Betty Beaman, brother, Edward Row, niece, Cheryl Kline, and his in laws, Margaret &amp; Charles Zuptich. 

Survivors include wife, Gail Row of the home, daughter, Amy Row, St. Joseph, MO, niece, Carolyn Polsky, nephews, Bob Beaman, Ed Row Jr., Gary Row, and Ronald Row, and his beloved big black dog, Harper.&nbsp;

Robert 'Bob' George Row 1930 - 2023

Pattonsburg, MO: Elanor Sue McMahill Best, 89, Pattonsburg, MO passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023, at a Kansas City, MO hospital.

She was born on April 13, 1934, in Caldwell County, Kidder, Missouri the daughter of William Fern and Alice (Potter) McMahill.

Elanor was a graduate of Osborn High School, Chillicothe Business College and when encouraged by her mother, completed the prescribed course of Studies in Illustrating and Related Art from Art Instruction Inc., Minneapolis, MN.

She accepted Christ as her Savior when she was twelve. She married the love of her life, Morris G Best, on July 18, 1954, at the Baptist Church in Osborn. They celebrated 50 years together until his passing on October 19, 2004.

They were the parents of Kathy Sue, Morris G Best, Jr., Kimberly Gayle, and Guy William. Elanor was active in their children’s school activities. She enjoyed summers when their children were home.

She began working at Cameron Mutual Insurance in 1979 and retired as a secretary in 1999. She enjoyed her work and many friends there.

Elanor was known for artwork and her murals. She loved children. She and Morris began the Franklin Graham Ministry and Operation Christmas Child at the First Baptist Church in Pattonsburg. She taught young adults Sunday school for many years and then Adult Women’s Sunday school. She enjoyed teaching and then helping in Vacation Bible School.

In the fall of 1990, she felt a call to start a women’s prison ministry at the Daviess-Dekalb Regional Jail in Pattonsburg.

She married the love of her life, Morris G Best, on July 18, 1954, at the Baptist Church in Osborn. They celebrated 50 years together until his passing on October 19, 2004.They were the parents of Kathy Sue, Morris G Best, Jr., Kimberly Gayle, and Guy William. Elanor was active in their children’s school activities. She enjoyed summers when their children were home.She began working at Cameron Mutual Insurance in 1979 and retired as a secretary in 1999. She enjoyed her work and many friends there.Elanor was known for artwork and her murals. She loved children. She and Morris began the Franklin Graham Ministry and Operation Christmas Child at the First Baptist Church in Pattonsburg. She taught young adults Sunday school for many years and then Adult Women’s Sunday school. She enjoyed teaching and then helping in Vacation Bible School.In the fall of 1990, she felt a call to start a women’s prison ministry at the Daviess-Dekalb Regional Jail in Pattonsburg.In 2016, Elanor became interested in family history and wrote a book, “Abducted,” which was published in 2018. Marilyn Lee (Taylor) Powell passed from this life on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Mosaic Life Care. She was born February 1st, 1932 in St. Joseph, MO to the late Clifford Taylor and Frances (Calvert) Taylor. She graduated from Savannah High School in 1950, and attended Gard Business University in St. Joe. She retired from the Andrew County Clerk’s office in 1995 after 18 years of service.&nbsp;

She married William Powell on June 14, 1952. He passed away in 2008. She was also preceded in death by a son, Terry Powell, and a brother, Gary Taylor.&nbsp;

She is survived by her daughter, Tana Lance, daughter-in-law, Julie Powell, grandchildren Sierra (Aaron) Matthews, Sheena (Jason) Lance-Nold, Zachary Powell, and Sandy Lance; and great grandchildren Easton &amp; Grayson Matthews, Savannah &amp; Brody Nold, and Jaxon &amp; Baker Powell.

She was a member of the Savannah United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and Andrew County Museum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the United Methodist Church or Andrew County Senior Center.

Bianca Butts, known as “Bink”, passed away on June 6, 2023, with family by her side. Bianca&nbsp;was born in Bandoeng, Java, Indonesia in 1933, to Opera singer Rebecca Kreveld and wildcatter,&nbsp;Walter Henry Detert. 

At the age of two Bianca, moved with her parents to Texas, where&nbsp;Walter’s family lived. The Detert family moved to San Pedro, California and throughout their&nbsp;primary school years, Bianca and her two younger sisters, Iris and Sonja, performed as a singing&nbsp;group for churches, community events and festivals. 

Bianca became a naturalized citizen when&nbsp;she turned 18. She worked many jobs to earn money for college, including as a lifeguard at&nbsp;pools on the beach. In 1952 she was crowned as San Pedro’s princess for the Southern&nbsp;California Harbor Day celebration. Working the whole time, Bianca received an Associate&nbsp;degree from Los Angeles Harbor Junior College and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Library&nbsp;Sciences from San Jose State College (SJSC). While attending SJSC, she met the love of her life&nbsp;and husband of 61 years, ROTC Cadet Orville Butts. She did not make it easy on Orv because she didn’t intend to date any fraternity boys, making him ask her out numerous times before&nbsp;she finally agreed to go on a date with him to a New Years Eve party. 

She would tell you that&nbsp;she knew from their first New Years Eve kiss, that Orv was the one for her. Bianca has&nbsp;recounted that it took another four months before she got another such kiss, but she had been&nbsp;looking forward to it that entire time. Throughout their marriage, they would ask each other for a “New Years Eve kiss.” It was also known, to the delight of Orv’s Soldiers, that they could&nbsp;really “cut-a-rug.”&nbsp;It would be fair to say that Bianca served the US Army alongside Orville during his 30-year&nbsp;career. She was the finest example of a “Soldier’s Spouse” one could imagine. For the births of&nbsp;both of her children, Orv was away on military duty. She drove herself to the hospital for her&nbsp;first child, and when she got back from the hospital with him, she mowed the lawn. 

Toward the&nbsp;beginning of her marriage, she worked as a school librarian in several locations including Germany (Dept of Defense Schools) and Georgia. She was a phenomenal hostess for countless&nbsp;formal dinners, Commander’s New Year’s Day receptions, holiday parties, and spouse coffees,&nbsp;among a few; and never once needed a caterer. Her children have taken many of her amazing recipes for their families. Her creative and artistic streak was evident in everything she did.&nbsp;Throughout her time as an Officer’s wife (and yes, she would like to be called “wife,”), she took&nbsp;care of Soldiers’ spouses, families, and often Soldiers. She was a wonderful wife and mother, while fulfilling so many different roles, including many years as a Red Cross Volunteer. The&nbsp;home stability that Bianca provided, allowed her children to flourish academically, athletically,&nbsp;and socially despite the constant uprooting. And her unwavering support to Orv allowed him to achieve greatness in his Army Career.&nbsp;After retirement, Bianca and Orv settled in Lansing, Kansas. Their home became the home base for the Butts clan. 

Bianca became an avid bicyclist, tooling all over Leavenworth and&nbsp;surrounding areas with other retirees. She and Orv also began their time as RV trailer&nbsp;enthusiasts with friends from all around the country. She was also a fantastic gardener, who&nbsp;more than once received recognition for her beautiful yard from the City of Lansing. However,&nbsp;no matter what was going on in their lives, Bianca was always available to assist her two Army&nbsp;children and their families in any way, especially during PCS moves, even if it required driving&nbsp;across the country. After devastatingly losing her husband and best friend in 2018, Bianca&nbsp;charged forward bravely; however never got over the loss of Orv.

Bianca is survived by her son and his wife; her daughter MAJ (Ret) Jeannine Hamby (JAGC) and&nbsp;her husband LTC (Ret) Joel Hamby (FA); five grandchildren and one greatgrandchild; sister-in-law; and three nephews and one niece.

Bianca will be missed so much by family and friends. We love you Grammy and are so glad you&nbsp;are finally with Granddad again.

Grant Mirosh 40 of Kansas City Missouri formerly of Plattsburg Missouri died Friday June 2, 2023, at his residence. Born on April 19, 1983, in Springfield Missouri to John and Kelly (Grant) Mirosh. &nbsp;

He was a graduate of Plattsburg High School Class of 2001 and Valedictorian of his class. &nbsp;He worked as an electrical engineer. &nbsp;

Grant was preceded in death by his Mother Kelly and Maternal and Paternal grandparents. &nbsp;

Survivors include his father John Mirosh of Plattsburg Missouri; daughter Adeline Mirosh, sister Bridget Mirosh both of KCMO; Brother Travis Mirosh of Cameron Missouri; three uncles and three aunts and a host of cousins and friends. &nbsp;

Cameron, Missouri…. John D Eggleston Jr., age 79, was born July 6, 1943, in Fairport, MO, the son of John D Eggleston Sr. and Lois Bernice (Daniel) Eggleston, and passed away on June 8, 2023, with family by his side.

John and Twila (Wilson) Eggleston were united in marriage on October 29, 1965, in DeKalb, MO, and to this union two children were born. John served in the Army National Guard and was a lifelong DeKalb County farmer. In his younger days, he played fastpitch softball for the Fairport Cubs and DeKalb County Kings, and was an avid golfer at the Lakesite Golf Club in Maysville. He was an accomplished hunter and outdoorsman with a few of his hunts even being featured on the Outdoor Channel.&nbsp;&nbsp;He also belonged to the Fairport Lions Club and Missouri Fox Hunters Association. Every spring, you could find John walking the timber looking for morel mushrooms. In November 2016, John was honored to be named Cameron’s Volunteer of the Year for his countless hours visiting the sick and elderly in Cameron’s hospital and nursing home.&nbsp; John will be remembered for his quick wit and friendly nature.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was loved and will be missed by many family and friends.

He is survived by his longtime life partner, Linda Reynolds; his children, J. (Cathie) Eggleston, Nancy (Mark) Wheatley; sister, Judy Jennings; grandchildren, Nick (Alex) Eggleston, Stefanie (Daniel) Epler, Addison Wheatley, Andrew Wheatley; great-grandchildren, Keira, Ellie, and Theo; many numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Carolyn S. (Chaney) Peuker, 86, of Wathena, Kansas passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the Willow in Wathena.

Carolyn was born on September 8, 1936, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Richard and Bertha (Klein) Chaney.

She lived all her married life south of Wathena farming with her husband.

Carolyn is a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Wathena and the Cordonettes.

She married Elmer Peuker on March 7, 1959, in St. Joseph, Missouri. He survives of the home. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Chaney, Jr.

Steven Ray Lock, a lifelong mechanic and farmer, passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2023 at the University of Kansas Health System Hospital in Topeka. Steve was born on October 15, 1952 to Harold and Eunice Lock of Hiawatha. He and his brother, Stan, helped with the family farm while attending Hamlin Public Schools. Steve was an active member of the Hamlin Pied Pipers 4-H Club and was proud of his first-place award at the Kansas State Fair in the trailer-backing competition. Steve graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1970.

Upon graduation, he attended NCKA Vo-Tech in Beloit where he learned diesel mechanics. Steve later received a draft letter and chose to join the Army National Guard where he received honors in field radio mechanics. Upon returning home, he worked for the Case dealership before he opened his own independent tractor repair in 1976. He moved his business, Steve’s Tractor Repair, to town in 1983, retiring in 2019.

Steve met the love of his life, Linda Holeman, on a blind date. They married in 1982 and added three sons to their family: Matthew in 1983, Jared in 1984, and Greg in 1997.

Steve served on the Hiawatha School Board for 16 years and was able to present all three of his sons with their diplomas. He remained a huge supporter of the Brown County 4-H program all throughout his life and enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids in later years. He will be remembered as a man who made a difference in the production agriculture and ag mechanics industry within and around the community. Steve loved a challenging mechanical situation and could adapt and overcome any obstacle.

Steve never knew a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone—sometimes driving his family crazy. With his good sense of humor, he enjoyed teasing others. Steve had a need for speed and loved air shows, drag racing, and tractor pulling. He loved to drive and enjoy the countryside and was the chauffeur to many KSU bowl games.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and brother &nbsp;Stanley. &nbsp;He is survived by his wife Linda and sons Matthew, Jared (Kristin), Greg (fiancé Kelly), and granddaughter Lainey and grandson Rhett.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at &nbsp; 10 AM Monday, June 12, 2023 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Hiawatha with Father Dan Gardner as celebrant.

She was born on October 24, 1946 in Smithville, MO. Nancy graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1964. &nbsp;

She went on to work for Forum Café in North Kansas City, Strahm Automation and worked for USD 500 in Kansas City, KS as a school bus driver for 25 years. Most recently she was working as a Security Guard for Securitas Security. Nancy volunteered much of her time to Special Olympics and was also a paraprofessional that assisted many special needs children over the years. She loved to crochet, making several blankets &amp; scarves, traveling when she could and most of all fishing. &nbsp;

Nancy was united in marriage to Cecelia Carter on October 1st 2016 and they made their home together in Lee’s Summit, MO. Nancy and Cece enjoyed playing Canasta with Tim and Alice Redding on many occasions. Cece preceded her in death on August 20, 2021.&nbsp;

She was also preceded in death by her biological parents, Charles Patterson and Mary Elizabeth Burton; adopted parents, Charles and Emma Jane Burdette; sister, Susan Mitchell &amp; brother Charles E. Patterson.&nbsp;

Aaron Franklin Ford, 43, a lifelong St. Joseph resident passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023 at Mosaic Life Care, after a lengthy battle with alcoholism.

Aaron was born on March 19, 1980 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He was a 1998 graduate of Lafayette High School and graduated from the The Missouri Western State University Law Enforcement Academy.

Aaron worked in law enforcement his entire career and spent the last six years as a security officer for Allied Universal.

Aaron was a proud father and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping and fishing. He was also a baseball enthusiast and enjoyed attending the Mustangs games and following the Royals.

Aaron is survived by his daughter, Sydni Ford; mother and step-father, Carol and Michael Wylie; sister, Betsy Leidy (Robert); niece and nephew, Claire and Kaleb Leidy; aunt, Connie Ford-Hale (Darren); uncle, Kirby Ford (Martha) and his dog, Marsee. &nbsp;&nbsp;

David Alan Kline, 64, St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023.

He was born on February 19, 1959, to Wilber Lewis and Mary Dolores (Mann) Kline in St. Joseph, Missouri.

David earned his bachelor’s degree from Missouri Western State University and was active in the United States Army, where he worked as a supply officer. He was a member of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, a proud Eagle Scout and scout master.

David was fascinated with genealogy and would spend up to six hours per day researching his family lineage. He and his wife, Cheryl, enjoyed taking day trips and researching the history of the places they visited together.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilber Kline.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 44 years, Cheryl Kline; their children, Aaron Mitchell Kline, Kerrie Ann Kline, Hans-Dieter Kline, and Emma Moore Kline; five grandchildren; his mother, Mary; two brothers, one sister, and one sister-in-law.

(Larry) Ben Hunter, 76, of Wichita Falls, TX went home to be with his Lord and Savior June 3, 2023. Born May 18, 1947 in Omaha, NE to David and Dorothy Hunter, he was a beloved husband, father, brother and friend.

He was born October 21, 1966 in St. Joseph to Bennie and Dolores (Montemayor) Hayward.

Shawn loved movies, good food, good music, fishing, and going for long car rides. He was a funny, happy guy with lots of opinions who loved to debate.

Most of all, Shawn was all about his family, whom he loved dearly. He didn’t ask for much but was quick to give, always putting others before himself.

Survivors include his children, Ashley Dahms (Gregory), Heaven Hayward, Brandon Hayward (Matthew), Brittany Poland, and Mercedes Hayward (Anthony); stepdaughters, Jackie Poland and Kristie Auten (Jason); grandchildren, Preston, Graesyn, Stetson, Fable, Mylee and Eri; his mother; siblings, Tina DeHaven (Kevin), Andi Hayward, and Nick Hayward; other extended family members and friends.

Naomi Faith (White) Johnson passed away June 6, 2023 at home in Edgerton, MO.

She was born on October 18, 1931, to James Dee and Blanche (Reynolds) White on the farm near Platte City, MO. Naomi graduated from Camden Point High School in 1949 as valedictorian of her class consisting of six girls. During school her favorite class was basketball. After high school, Naomi attended Platte Gard Business School in St. Joseph graduating with a secretarial administrative assistant certificate.

On June 22, 1951, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Atkins “Buddy” Johnson at the Baptist Church in Camden Point, MO. To this union were born Jerry Dee Johnson, William Allen Johnson and Joy Annette Johnson. They raised their family near Edgerton on the family farm. Kenneth passed away on July 26, 1996.

Naomi worked for North Platte Elementary School in Edgerton, Kroger Grocery Company in North Kansas City, American Angus Association in St. Joseph, American Angus Hall of Fame in Smithville, and Healthy Families of Mid America in Smithville. She spent her last five years at the Smithville Christian Church where she retired in November of 2011.&nbsp;

She was a member of Edgerton United Methodist Church where she served as the secretary, treasurer and choir director until the church closed. Later, Naomi joined the congregation of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Edgerton. She also served on the Missouri University Extension Council (4-H) and the board of WWB Villas Retirement Center in Edgerton and was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Naomi was an active parent with FFA, 4-H and PTA. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and “Mamaw” and will be missed dearly.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her husband Buddy Johnson; sisters Martha Wilson and Maxine Davis and brothers Herman White and James White.&nbsp;

Naomi is survived by her children Jerry Johnson, Bill Johnson (LeeAnn) and Joy Williams (Tom); granddaughters Kelly Weber (Robert) and Amy Williams; great-grandson Blake Weber; sister Deanna Boydston; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.&nbsp;

To this union were born Jerry Dee Johnson, William Allen Johnson and Joy Annette Johnson. They raised their family near Edgerton on the family farm. Kenneth passed away on July 26, 1996.Naomi worked for North Platte Elementary School in Edgerton, Kroger Grocery Company in North Kansas City, American Angus Association in St. Joseph, American Angus Hall of Fame in Smithville, and Healthy Families of Mid America in Smithville. She spent her last five years at the Smithville Christian Church where she retired in November of 2011.&nbsp;She was a member of Edgerton United Methodist Church where she served as the secretary, treasurer and choir director until the church closed. Later, Naomi joined the congregation of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Edgerton. She also served on the Missouri University Extension Council (4-H) and the board of WWB Villas Retirement Center in Edgerton and was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Naomi was an active parent with FFA, 4-H and PTA. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and “Mamaw” and will be missed dearly.&nbsp;She was preceded in death by her husband Buddy Johnson; sisters Martha Wilson and Maxine Davis and brothers Herman White and James White.&nbsp;Naomi is survived by her children Jerry Johnson, Bill Johnson (LeeAnn) and Joy Williams (Tom); granddaughters Kelly Weber (Robert) and Amy Williams; great-grandson Blake Weber; sister Deanna Boydston; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.&nbsp;Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 8th at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Edgerton, MO.Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 9th at Mt.
