Norma M. Barton, 90, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025.
She was born August 30, 1934 in Fillmore, Missouri to Henry and Lena (Hardin) Heckman. She grew up in Fillmore and graduated from Fillmore High School.
Norma married Raymond Louis Barton on April 9, 1960. They shared 58 years together before he preceded her in death on November 10, 2018.
She loved the Lord and served Him as a longtime member of McCarthy Baptist Church (now Cornerstone Baptist Church), where she worked in the daycare.
Norma found immense joy playing with her great-grandchildren, and delighting her family with her wonderful cooking, especially her chicken and noodles and homemade rolls.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her parents; and 10 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Steele (Bill); grandchildren, Alyssa VanBelkum (Ryan) and Nathan Steele (Brea); great-grandchildren, Jameson, Emma, Jase, and Jude; sister, Dorothy Hagee; and other extended family and friends.
Farewell Services 1:00 P.M. Monday, Cornerstone Baptist Church. Private Inurnment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service.
