Bobby Ray Scott of St. Joseph, MO passed peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the age of 92. He was born on October 31, 1932 in Palmer, MO to Glen A. Scott and Pearl E. (Sago) Scott. In 1956, Bob was united in marriage to Carol Marvine Turnbough and to this union three daughters were born.

Bob spent thirty years as an educator. After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in education with a major in mathematics from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Bob earned a Master of Arts degree with a major in physics from Washington University, St. Louis, MO, and a Doctor of Education degree with a major in higher education administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He was elected to membership in the following organizations: Pi Mu Epsilon mathematics honorary, Phi Delta Kappa professional education association, and Phi Theta Kappa junior college honorary. After teaching mathematics and science in several high schools, he taught mathematics at Mineral Area College, Park Hills, MO. Bob also served in the U.S. Army at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland in the late 1950’s as a mathematics-statistics military occupational specialist.

In 1968, Bob became the first Dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, MO. During his leadership, bachelor degrees were initiated in the seven departments which he supervised. He also coordinated a bachelor degree program at the U.S. Penitentiary in Leavenworth, KS in the 1970’s, and he initiated an Elderhostel program at MWSU. Bob retired from MWSU in 1986 to begin a beef cattle business in Easton, MO, where his dream of returning to a rural lifestyle and love of farming was fulfilled. After retiring from the cattle business, he and his wife, Carol, returned to St. Joseph in 2016.

Bob was best known for his love and servanthood to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and his love for his family and friends. He began his journey with Christ as a teenager and continued until death. Bob served his Lord with Christian diligence and integrity during his lifetime, teaching the Bible to adult Sunday School classes, serving as a deacon, as well as serving on and chairing many committees in many churches until health issues prevented him from doing so. He remained devoted to his Savior and loved to worship with fellow Christians. He loved family gatherings and especially loved the hugs and smiles that were given to him by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Bob’s guidance, wisdom, and care for others will always be respected and remembered.

Preceding Bob in death were his parents, his brother, Gary, his son-in-law, Chris, and his sister-in-law, Donna. He is survived by his wife, Carol, and daughters, Deborah Zaroor (Chris), Julie Hoffelmeyer, and Diane Williams (Darryl). Also surviving are his grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, Caleb, Joshua (Natalie), Daniel (Allyson), Maggie, Daedra (Brad), and Dustin, and great grandchildren, Joel, Joseph, Carter, Jillian, and Zayn. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Glen Turnbough, Alice Scott, Brenda and Bob Bauer, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of choice. The family would like to give special thanks to Freudenthal Hospice and In-Home on Call for their dedicated care. John Thomas “Tom” Keller, 77, Parkville, Missouri, formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025.

He was born August 18, 1947 in Mexico, Missouri to John Thomas Keller II and Dorothy (Ingwersen) Keller. Tom grew up in different parts of Missouri before the family settled in St. Joseph when he was in seventh grade. He was a graduate of Central High School.

He attended St. Joseph Junior College. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and then in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Tom married Debra Ann Beirlein on October 16, 2021. She survives of the home.

An outgoing person who easily made friends, he was a sales manager for Hillyard Chemical Company for 20 years before moving to Chicago, where he worked for Bunzel and retired from there.

Tom loved to golf and enjoyed watching the Chiefs and Royals, as well as doing carpentry and home projects.

Survivors include his wife, Deb; daughter, Laura Baron (Jon); grandsons, Eli and Dylan Baron; siblings, Brad Keller (Mary Beth), Diane Wanserski (Tom), and Debbie Mahoney (Joe); former wife and mother of his child, Roxy Jo Zembles; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends; beloved dog, Zoey; and beloved cat, Zara.

John Thomas "Tom" Keller 1947 - 2025

Benji, 48, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025; following complications of a stroke.

He was born in Saint Joseph, Missouri to Thomas D. and Cathy L. (Carrel) Sontheimer.

Benji was a proud graduate of Lafayette High School, class of 1994. Carrying the work ethic instilled in him into his professional life; his career began at the young age of 16. Over the years, he dedicated his skills to BJ's Auto, Anderson Ford, Annigan King Hill Body Shop and Altec.

Benji had a passion for fast and loud cars, the freedom of riding his Harley Davidson; especially in poker runs and charity events. He also enjoyed the thrill of a loud sound system. His favorite band, Metallica, was often the soundtrack to his adventures. His loyal dog, Cinnamon, was a constant companion. He found joy in the simple pleasure of good Mexican food complimented by a cold beer shared with family and friends.

Those who knew Benji will remember him as a man who lived life to the fullest, with a smile that could light up a room and a heart that was generous and kind.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jonna Rehm; friend, Jessie Edwards; grandparents, aunts, uncles and many friends.

Survivors include his cherished daughter, Danyka Sontheimer; parents; sister, Tracy Frye; best friend, Nate Barron (Amy), whom he affectionately referred to as "my brother from another mother", nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Mildred Lorene Meyn passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, in Cedar Park, Texas. She lived an active 102 years and was loved by all.

Mildred was born September 3, 1922 in Columbus, Nebraska, to Herman and Louise (Brunken) Karlin. Baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Columbus, Nebraska. Mildred graduated from Columbus High School and Chillicothe Business College, Chillicothe, Missouri. On June 6, 1943, Mildred married Wilbur N. Meyn in Columbus, Nebraska.

She is survived by three daughters, Kathleen (Scott) Fichter of Cedar Park, Texas, Betty Meyn of Waukee, Iowa, and Marilyn (Galen) Seehafer of Hunter, Texas; four grandchildren, Jennifer McMillin, Scott (Amy) Fichter, Megan Seehafer, and Sabrina Seehafer; six great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashley, Amber, Siena, Rowan, and Mila; brother, Gerald (Nadene) Karlin of Overland Park, Kansas; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur, of 53 years.

She married Lawrence “Larry” Weeks on October 15, 1966, and they had two children: Rebecca &amp; Ryan (missing since February 2022).

Terry Batchelder, 78, of Gower, MO passed away, February 6, 2025.

He was born on November 12, 1946 in Belton, MO. Terry grew up in Belton and graduated from Belton High School.

On August 13, 1972 he was united in marriage to Roberta Whippo. After their marriage they lived near Gower where they made their home. His wife, Roberta, passed away November 29, 2021.

Terry was a farmer all of his life and worked at the Rock Quarry near Gower for over 40 years. He loved barbequing, music and concerts and most of all spending time with his family.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Catherine Belto; brothers, Monte Batchelder and Leslie Batchelder; sister, Denise Skeens; sons, Christopher Brown and Kevin Batchelder; and son-in-law, Michael VanVleck.

Terry Batchelder 1946 - 2025

Robert Earl Zornes, 68, of Kansas City, MO went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2025.

He was born on August 20, 1956, to Russell Roy and Jessie Lee (Adams) Zornes in Iola, KS where he grew up and graduated from Iola High School in 1974. Robert graduated from Evangel College with a bachelors in pipe organ performance and later received his master’s in counseling from Emporia State University.

On June 6, 1981, he was united in marriage to Susan Kay Rosenlieb. After their marriage they lived in Emporia, KS and in 1982 they moved to Kansas City, MO where they made their home.

After moving to Kansas City, Robert was the Minister of Pastoral Care and Counseling for Northland Cathedral. In 1985, he helped found The L.I.G.H.T. House with Kansas City Youth for Christ and then in 2002 he became the Executive Director for Mother’s Refuge in Independence, MO. During his time of ministry, more than 1500 babies were saved from abortion, and he touched countless lives demonstrating God’s grace by providing a “hand up not a hand out.” Robert was also a successful entrepreneur in sales. He loved teaching his sons business through J. B. Toys. Robert loved helping people, never met a stranger, and was a wonderful husband, brother, uncle, dad and papa.

He was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Jessie Zornes; his brother David Zornes; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Raymond and Edyth Rosenlieb; and brother-in-law Larry Rosenlieb.

He is survived by his wife Susan Zornes; sons Carl, Bobby and Josh, Grandson Nathan Zornes and his wife Alona Zornes, siblings Donna Zornes, Bill (Patty) Zornes, Janice (Dave) Wing, Terry (Sandy) Zornes, Thomas Tracy Zornes; sister-in-law Cindy Zornes, and sister-in-law Kathy (Chuck) Weidner, many nieces and nephews, and all of the friends that became family.

Robert Earl Zornes, 68, of Kansas City, MO went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2025.He was born on August 20, 1956, to Russell Roy and Jessie Lee (Adams) Zornes in Iola, KS where he grew up and graduated from Iola High School in 1974. Robert graduated from Evangel College with a bachelors in pipe organ performance and later received his master’s in counseling from Emporia State University.On June 6, 1981, he was united in marriage to Susan Kay Rosenlieb. After their marriage they lived in Emporia, KS and in 1982 they moved to Kansas City, MO where they made their home.After moving to Kansas City, Robert was the Minister of Pastoral Care and Counseling for Northland Cathedral. In 1985, he helped found The L.I.G.H.T. House with Kansas City Youth for Christ and then in 2002 he became the Executive Director for Mother’s Refuge in Independence, MO. During his time of ministry, more than 1500 babies were saved from abortion, and he touched countless lives demonstrating God’s grace by providing a “hand up not a hand out.” Robert was also a successful entrepreneur in sales. He loved teaching his sons business through J. B. Toys. Sue Ann (Taylor) Blanton, 74, of Troy, Kansas passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph, Missouri.

Sue was born on April 29, 1950, to Bennie and Alice (Plautz) Taylor.

She graduated from Troy High School in 1968 and was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Wathena, Kansas. Sue worked for Mead Products for 30 years and retired from Prime Tanning, now known as National Beef. She was the Board Secretary of the Stationary Credit Union and was the secretary of the Senior Council at the Pioneer Center of Troy, Kansas.

Sue married Richard Blanton on October 2, 1982, in Troy, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 20, 2022. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors; son, Anthony Taylor (Brooke), St. Joseph, Missouri. Grandchildren, Kylee Lewallen (Eddie), St. Joseph, Missouri. Caitlyn Taylor (Daniel), South Hadley, Massachusetts. Peter Warren, 78, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025 in St. Joseph. Peter was born September 26, 1946 in Bethany, MO, son of Ellen and Wilbur Warren II. 

He graduated from Easton High School, class of 1964, and later from Missouri Western State College. He married Diane Lambright on April 22, 2000 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church. Peter was a proud United States Marine. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served as a Marine Sniper in the US Marine Corps First Sniper Division. Following his service, he worked as a Pilot with TransWorld Express. Pete loved flying, hunting, boating, riding his motorcycle, deep sea fishing and scuba diving. He was also a proud member of NRA. 

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Wilbur Warren, III. 

Survivors include: siblings, Ina and her late husband Wayne Wilson of St. Joseph, John (Jean Ann) Warren of Rea, MO, Patricia (Terry) Castor of St. Joseph, Harold (Paula) Warren of St. Joseph, Mary (David) Jones of St. Joseph, Marti (Kevin) Chapman of St. Joseph, former wife, Diane Warren, 4 grandchildren, Jillian, Sophie, Olivia, and Willy, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away at the age of 84. He was married to the love of his life, Lena, for 51 years. Together, they raised two children, and were blessed with five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him endless joy.&nbsp;

Joe had a deep passion for reading, fishing and spending quality time with his family and friends. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and he never met a stranger. He made everyone feel welcome with his warm heart and gentle spirit.&nbsp;

For over 40 years, Joe worked with the Missouri Highway Department as a permit inspector, a role that earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his job.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by wife, Lena Becerra Gilkey, Father, James B. Gilkey, Mother, Ann O’Neal Gilkey, Brother’s, Tony Gilkey, James Bradley Gilkey, Sister, Ginny Gilkey (Leone). &nbsp;Joe leaves behind a loving family, children Christopher (Maureen) Gilkey, Christine (Michael) Maciolek (Gilkey), grandchildren, Erin Hendrix (Matt), Ethan Gilkey,(Emily), MaryKate Gilkey, Mia Maciolek and Chloe Maciolek. Billy Joe Gilkey 1940 - 2025

John Thomas “Tom” Keller, 77, Parkville, Missouri, formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025.He was born August 18, 1947 in Mexico, Missouri to John Thomas Keller II and Dorothy (Ingwersen) Keller. Tom grew up in different parts of Missouri before the family settled in St. Joseph when he was in seventh grade. He was a graduate of Central High School.He attended St. Joseph Junior College. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and then in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.Tom married Debra Ann Beirlein on October 16, 2021. She survives of the home.An outgoing person who easily made friends, he was a sales manager for Hillyard Chemical Company for 20 years before moving to Chicago, where he worked for Bunzel and retired from there.Tom loved to golf and enjoyed watching the Chiefs and Royals, as well as doing carpentry and home projects.He was preceded in death by his parents.Survivors include his wife, Deb; daughter, Laura Baron (Jon); grandsons, Eli and Dylan Baron; siblings, Brad Keller (Mary Beth), Diane Wanserski (Tom), and Debbie Mahoney (Joe); former wife and mother of his child, Roxy Jo Zembles; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends; beloved dog, Zoey; and beloved cat, Zara.

Charles A. Kephart, 88, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

He was born August 17, 1936 in Cosby, Missouri to George and Ida (Gnuschke) Kephart. Charles was a 1954 graduate of Lafayette High School.

Charles married Ava Maxine Anderson on November 10, 1956. They shared 64 years together, including the years he cared for Ava during her battle with Alzheimer’s before she preceded him in death on August 3, 2021.

He was a mechanic for the Air National Guard at Rosecrans for 38 years until his retirement in 1991.

Charles loved the Lord and served Him faithfully as a longtime member of Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church where he held many roles, including deacon and custodian.

He enjoyed woodworking and carving, and was a member of the Woodworkers Guild in St. Joseph.

Most known for his kindness, humor and bright smile, Charles was a terrific dad and granddad who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by wife, Ava; his parents; twin infant daughters, Marcia Mae and Alicia Grace; brother, John Kephart; sister-in-law, Shirley Kephart; and brother-in-law, John “Bill” Creamer.

Survivors include his children, David Kephart, Laura Mather (Jeff), and Heather Sykes (Martin); grandchildren, Clay Mather (Breanna), Caleb Mather (Baylee), Isaac Sykes and Allison Sykes; one great-grandchild on the way; sister-in-law, Iona Creamer; numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.

Rosalie M. Tovar, 88, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

She was born August 10, 1936 in Mound City, Missouri to William H. “Jack” and Beryl (Hand) Cook. Rosalie grew up in the Mound City and Forest City, Missouri areas, graduating from Forest City High School in 1954.

Rosalie attended St. Joseph School of Nursing, earning her nursing certificate in 1957, which launched a long career as a registered nurse. She worked in several hospitals, nursing homes and at Missouri Western State University, before working 28 years at the Northwest Missouri Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center, where she retired in 2009.

She was very active in her community in her younger years serving in leadership roles for the PTA, American Red Cross, League of Women Voters and St. Joseph Drug Council, all while working full time and raising five children.

Rosalie loved reading historical biographies, puzzles, scenic drives in the country, traveling, and music. She had a love of football, especially the Chiefs and Notre Dame. She also enjoyed birds, especially cardinals, and flowers, with pansies being her favorite.

She was fascinated by flight, learning everything she could about airplanes and even took flying lessons. She loved to watch them fly over.

Rosalie attended St. John LaLande Catholic Church in Blue Springs, Missouri, and exemplified God’s teachings with the true heart of a caregiver – loving and sacrificing, and always putting her family first. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and their families. She was always available and interested to hear about her family’s activities and life events.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Cook, Beryl and Ray Brock; and siblings, Eula Mae Browning and James A. Cook.

Survivors include her children, Manuel Tovar Jr. (Pam), Mireya Smith (Kevin), Maria Genaris (Peter), Mark Tovar (Charemon), and Marilu Suholaski (Jon); 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, with one on the way; sister, Suzanne Hardy; numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

Clifford Ray Farris, 74, Plattsburg, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at his home. &nbsp;

He was born on November 28, 1950, in Paradise, Missouri to Raymond Lee and Genevieve (Benner) Farris. Clifford graduated from Smithville High School, then proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a member of American Legion Post 97.

Clifford married Emma Blackford on July 8, 1989. She survives of the home.

He was a long-haul truck driver for many years. The last 20+ years he worked at the JCPENNEY Distribution Center in Lenexa, KS for MO-KAN Distribution Company where he retired. &nbsp;

Clifford loved camping, fishing, woodworking, watching John Wayne movies, sitting on the porch, singing, and playing his guitar. He also was a NASCAR fan and loved classic cars.

Known as a jack-of-all-trades and master of none, Clifford also thoroughly enjoyed his role as the big prankster in the family.

Clifford leaves many treasured memories for his family and friends as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Marshall Eugene Sprague III; and brother, Jack Farris.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Emma; children, Ginger Crow (Mark) of Parkville, Missouri, Nicole Cox (Charley) of San Tan Valley, Arizona, Rachael Reyes (Tony) of Kansas City, Kansas, and Clinton Farris (Megan) of Oak Grove, Missouri; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Thomas (James) of Smithville, Missouri; brother, James Wade (Julie) of San Antonio, Texas; and stepmother, Kathryn Buckley of Faucett, Missouri.

Daniel L. Wagner, 87, Atchison, Kansas died Wednesday, February 5, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Danny’s life will be celebrated Saturday, February 8, 2025, at St. Joseph Church with a visitation to begin at 10:00 am and a rosary at 10:45 am. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 am. He will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Benedictine College to be designated to scholarships and may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Daniel was born August 23, 1937, in Pawnee City, Nebraska the oldest of twelve children of Fred and Eleanor (Ullman) Wagner. &nbsp;He attended Steinauer Elementary School graduating from Lewiston High School. He enlisted in the Army Reserves and was stationed at Fort Carson until his honorable discharge.

He and Bonnie J. Dougherty were united in marriage on July 8, 1967, in Steinauer, Nebraska. &nbsp;Mrs. Wagner preceded him in death on October 30, 2014. He is also preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Keith Wagner; and sister, Betty Hubka.

Danny enjoyed farming with his family in Nebraska and worked with the soil conservation district. He relocated to Atchison and met numerous people and made countless friendships, which led him to his fifty-year career of Print Shop Manager at Benedictine College until retiring in 2020. He enjoyed photography, he was a master carpenter and one of the best gardeners around. He could grow pretty much anything! He loved sharing his produce and canning for his family. Danny was a huge Nebraska fan and enjoyed anything college athletics and the Olympic games. He played numerous sports well into his 60s, including volleyball, basketball, tennis and bowling.

He was a member of St. Benedict Parish and a member of Sacred Heart Council #723 of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include a son, Christopher (Christina) Wagner; a daughter, Daneen (Jeremy) Vaughan; two brothers, Bob Wagner, Patrick Wagner; seven sisters, Nora Kathe, Nancy Hilt, Marilyn Buhman, Dorothy Brandt, Peggy Barrett, Mary Wagner, Kathy Wagner; five grandchildren, Zachary Wagner, Kelsey (Mike) Hughes, Micah Wagner, Daniel Wagner, Rebekah Wagner; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He and Bonnie took in a foster Yorkie, and she became the spoiled rotten pup, “Baby”, who resides with Chris’ family.

Mike was a proud member of the Kansas City, MO Iron Workers Local 10. He is considered a Legend Ironworker by his peers, which his friends and family were very proud of. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, boats, hot rod cars, coaching little league, beaches and anything that met spending time in the water.

Douglas E. Kowitz, 69 of King City, MO and formerly of Flag Springs, MO for many years, passed away Tuesday, February 4th, 2025 at his home in King City surrounded by loved ones. He was born July 25th, 1955 to Donald &amp; Wanda (Hunsucker) Kowitz. He graduated high school from King City R-1 in 1973. After graduating, he farmed and started working at AGP. He retired from AGP after 44 years on august 2nd 2017. He married the love of his life, Debbie Smith on July 13th, 1983 and she survives of the home. &nbsp;

Doug loved his family fiercely and cherished every moment spent together, especially with his great grandchildren. His life was filled with great memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of those he held dear. He was also a passionate hunter and fisherman, a love that kept him outdoors and away from the confines of the house. He had many titles like husband, father, son, friend, but his favorite title was being called “Pappy” since 1994.

Jonathan Boller Sr. 81, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025 at Mosaic Life Care. He was born November 16, 1943 in St. Joseph to the late Effie and Ralph Boller. 

Jon attended Benton High School. He married Wanda Butterfield on February 3, 1961, sharing exactly 64 years together. He worked at the Lake Road Warehouse, retiring after 40 years. Jon loved racing, especially dirt track racing. He also loved the KC Chiefs, and most of all, his family. 

Jon was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Frank, Henry, Lawrence, and Clarence Boller, sisters, Harriet Stagner, Bertha Free, Sarah Wampler, Bonnie Ziberski, and Betty Herbert. 

Survivors include: &nbsp;wife, Wanda Boller of the home, sons, Jon Jr. (Beth) Boller of St Joseph, Ronnie Sr. (April) Boller of St. Joseph, and Lonnie (Rita) Boller of Horton, KS, daughter, Sherri Boller of St. Joseph, 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancy worked at C.D. Smith, New York Life and Mutual of Omaha before a long stint as a supervisor at the St. Jo Frontier Casino, from which she retired in 2009.

Nancy enjoyed needlepoint, gardening, yardwork, and traveling. A kind person who always put others first, she had a big heart with much love for family, friends, and animals, especially cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and longtime companion, Charles Buffey.

Survivors include grandson, Gregory Clutter; three great-grandchildren; brother, Tom Dougan (Sherry); and close friend Teri Golden.

Glenda E. Roberts, 74, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025.

She was born December 26, 1950 in Pennsylvania.

On April 30, 1976, Glenda married the love of her life, Edward Eugene Roberts and together they built a family full of love and laughter. She was a cherished mother to Rachel Eckart (Gene) and Christopher Roberts. Glenda's role as a grandmother was one she enjoyed with all her heart, leaving behind treasured memories with grandchildren Jordan, Kailyn, and Jasper Roberts, Joslin Carpenter, and Samantha Stapleton, as well as great-grandchildren Theo and Archie Richey.

Chris Eugene Gartner, 57, of Horton, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home, February 2, 2025. Chris had been fighting a battle with cancer since May 2021 and he did so with courage and grace.

Chris is now standing in the sun, he fought the fight, his race is run and his pain is all a million miles away.

Chris Eugene Gartner, 57, of Horton, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home, February 2, 2025. Chris had been fighting a battle with cancer since May 2021 and he did so with courage and grace.Chris is now standing in the sun, he fought the fight, his race is run and his pain is all a million miles away.Chris was born December 17, 1967, at Axtell, Kansas, the youngest of eight children born to Ray and Lita Sue (Chandler) Gartner. Chris grew up in Oneida, Kansas, attending school in Bern, Kansas, prior to moving to Hiawatha, Kansas in 1984. Chris then attended Hiawatha High School, graduating with the class of 1987. Chris was employed at Crosswind Industries (ADM) in Hiawatha, Kansas until July 2021, when his illness prevented him to work.Chris married Teresa Blanton November 4, 2016 in Falls City, Nebraska.Chris is survived by his wife Teresa of the home; daughters: Jessica (Zach) Rahe, Emily Gartner, son Connor Gartner, step-children: Katie (Eric) Purvis, Lukas Blanton; &nbsp;step-grandchildren: Joseph, Samantha and Maverick Purvis; sisters Cindy DuBois, Tammy (Tony) Campbell, brother in law William Lowe; in laws: Scott and Patricia Andrews, Rhonda (John) May, Kristie (Richard) Sigle, several nieces, nephews and the family dogs: Bailey, Sassy and Chevy.Chris was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Steve Gartner, Kent Gartner, Dan Gartner, Terry Gartner, sister Janice Lowe; brother in laws: David Bauerle and Donald DuBois.A Celebration of Chris’s life is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Eternal Hope Worship Center in Hiawatha, with Pastor Rich Lehmkuhl officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Oneida Cemetery.Friends may call at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha after 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at Church.<figure>
