Jess E. Ribelin, 87, of Mayetta, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024 at his home near Mayetta.&nbsp;

He was born July 27, 1937 at Dover, the son of Willie and Rosie Morand Ribelin. He graduated from Dover High School in 1955. He served four years in the U.S. Navy on several different ships, including a supply ship, an aircraft carrier and the U.S.S. Dixie.

Jess was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hoyt. He loved hunting and fishing and all things outdoors. He also loved a good western.

He had worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Topeka for 32 ½ years, and was a farmer and a rancher.

He married Lorendia Williamson on October 17, 1959 in Tulare, California. She survives, of the home.&nbsp;

Jess was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Joseph Ribelin, Karl Ribelin and Robert Ribelin, and one sister, Anna Mae Brown.

Other survivors include four sons, Ken Ribelin, Bryan Ribelin (Donna) and Cary Ribelin (Jamie), all of Mayetta, and Alan Ribelin (Julie), Meriden, two brothers, Steve Ribelin (Darlene), Topeka and Richard Ribelin (Jan), Osage City, a sister-in-law, Mary Ribelin, Oklahoma City, OK, thirteen grandchildren, twenty- four great grandchildren, with two on the way, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 22nd at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hoyt. Burial with military honors will follow in the Mayetta Cemetery. Jess will lie in state after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Joyce then married John Shrader in January of 1987 and moved to Texas, they later divorced. Joyce worked as a secretary for ACCHS USD 377, for over two decades, till she retired. She enjoyed reading, playing Bingo, Skip-Bo, and watching game shows. Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune were her favorites. Joyce loved going out to lunch with her children to grab a slice of pizza and Mountain Dew. She was also a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.

Joyce is survived by her sons; Douglas (Connie) Eckert, Dave (Stacy) Eckert, daughters; Denise (Shawn) Vandeloo and Donna Williams, nine grandchildren, Jordan, Paige, Dane, Cory, Taylor, Bodie, Landen, Blayne, and Quade, eight great-grandchildren, Eme, Ethan, August, Ellarie, Maycie, Norah, Zeion, and Zeimer and sister Jan Heitschmidt. Mary Lou Miller &nbsp;77, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024 in St. Joseph. She was born December 26, 1946 in Wathena, KS, daughter of the late, Bertha and Forrest Liechti.

 She was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting and sewing by hand, her Miller Light, and was always with her dogs, she had several throughout her life that she adored. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dennis Miller, brothers, Charles Liechti and James Liechti, sister, Connie Joann Liechti, and brother-in-law, Doug Trueblood.

Marvin Lee Huey, 88, of Elwood, Kansas, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. He was born August 24, 1936 in Richmond, MO, son of Stella and Thomas Huey. 

He graduated from Lafayette High School. Following high school, he enlisted into the United States Army and served from 1954-1958. &nbsp;On January 3, 1989, he married Hortencia "Tangie" Flores. Marvin spent many years working as a Union Laborer, proudly working on many projects in the area. He was a member of Labors Union Local 579, where he served as a past board member, and member of the VFW Post 6760. He enjoyed spending time at his local pub hangouts and at Big Lake. 

Marvin was preceded in death by wife, Hortencia "Tangie" Huey, his parents, bonus children, Rick Allen and Rebecca Gann, siblings, Myrtle Harper, Tom Huey, and Dale Huey, granddaughter, Amber, and great-grandson, Storm. 

Survivors include: children, Scott (Tonia) Huey of Platte City, MO, Marla (Jonathan) Martindale of Merkel, TX, Marvina (Billy) Piveral of St. Joseph, Ruthanna Thompson of St. Joseph, bonus children, Marta Allen of St. Joseph and Hope (Mike) Vette, sister, Betty Starcher of Richmond, MO, grandchildren, Chris, Brian, Donnie, Jory, Tolby, Cierra, Angela, Makayla, Hanna, Jack, Rick, and Amanda, and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Michael Brian Buczek 60, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024 in a St. Joseph, MO Hospital. He was born September 14, 1964 in St. Joseph, Missouri, son of the late Margaret &amp; Benjamin Buczek. 

He graduated from DeKalb High School, and worked 35 years at Nestle Purina. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, coon hunting, working and training bird dogs, and riding motorcycles. 

He is survived by brothers, Greg Buczek of Faucett, MO and Kris (Kim) Buczek of Cosby, MO, nieces and nephews; Erica Buczek, Konnor Buczek, and Karoline Buczek, and great nephew and niece, Yoshi &amp; Mika Tanaka.

Roger Lee Carson, 90, Savannah, MO; passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on August 29, 1934 to Melvin and Mary (Kurtz) Carson with twin brother, Roland, outside of Oregon, Missouri.

Roger attended and graduated from New Point School in 1952. &nbsp;He attended Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville MO in 1953. &nbsp;He then joined the Army in 1954 and was stationed in South Korea, where he served in the 44th Engineering Battalion. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1956. After discharge, he pursued his education and graduated from Colorado State College in Greeley in 1959. &nbsp;

After graduation, Roger moved to Savannah, Mo and engaged in farming for sixty-five years. While refusing to slow down and retire from farming, he drove for Missouri Western, in St. Joseph and King of the Road from Topeka, KS tour busses for many years. He traveled over the U.S. and Canada including going to the Olympics in Salt Lake City in Utah and Washington D.C.

Roger was a member at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Country Club, MO. &nbsp;

Mr. Carson was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Roland; sister, Marilyn Mitchell and daughter, Lu Ann (Steve) Ferguson

Roger married Barbara Rutherford in 1980. &nbsp;She survives of the home.

He is also survived by sons; Jon (Lynette) Carson; Cody (Allison Lee) Carson; daughters, Debbie (Tom) Brooke; Shelley (Alfredo) Morales Merritt and Brea Merritt; grandchildren include, Abbie (Shawn) Cun, BJ (Emmie) Ferguson, Kurt (Jennifer) Brooke, Chris Brooke, Hunter and Halle Carson; granddaughter, Alyka Zahnd and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Carson has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel, where a register book is available to sign during regular office hours. Private Graveside Service and Inurnment at Fillmore Cemetery with Military Honors at a later date.

Thomas Taylor Coker, 27, Kansas City, Kansas, formerly of Mound City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2024. Taylor was born January 5, 1997, in Winter Haven, Florida to James and Lisa (Kerns) Coker.

Taylor, his mom, and brother Michael moved to Mound City in June 2005. He graduated as valedictorian of the Mound City High School Class of 2015. He then attended and graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in December 2018, earning a Bachelor’s in Finance. Taylor joined Edward Jones in 2018, obtaining the position of financial advisor, where he was a trusted and thoughtful leader, whose notable spirit of caring and compassion for all clients and colleagues was matched only by his love for family and community.

Taylor married his high school sweetheart, Emily Ann Wedlock, June 8, 2024. Their union transcended many years of friendship and love. From childhood friends to lifelong partners, Taylor and Emily shared a bond that grew from playful laughter and shared memories, into a love that lasted a lifetime, proving that some connections are meant to endure through stages of life. Throughout their life together, Taylor lovingly called his wife “Meeley”, a nickname that brought a smile to her face every day, reminding us all of the deep affection and humor they shared in the years of their relationship.

While in Mound City, he devoted his extra free time to ensuring the care and needs of his Grandma J were met. He also developed his passions and hobbies, including all things waterfowl, fishing, and spending time with buddies. Those buddies, near and far, will all miss him dearly.

Taylor was preceded in death by his father, James Coker, maternal grandfather, James Kerns and paternal grandmother Barbara Ann Bennett. He will be missed dearly by all of his family, friends and community. Thomas Taylor Coker 1997 - 2024

Mary Ann Payne passed away at the age of 101 on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the Oregon Care Center. She was born on August 10, 2023 in Centralia, Kansas to Virgil Thomas Moore and Cecilia Sophia Koelzer Moore. She was the oldest of seven children. Mary Ann’s parents moved to Forest City, Missouri during her first year of school. There she attended grade school at Chambers, a one-room schoolhouse. After a year at Oregon high school, she worked for her room and board while attending high school at the Convent of Sacred Heart in Saint Joseph, Missouri, where she graduated from high school with honors.

Mary Ann married her childhood sweetheart, Godfrey Alfred Payne. They were married on August 26, 1941 and shared 65 years together. They resided in Holt County most of their lives. They enjoyed trips throughout the United States, trips to South America and numerous fishing trips to Soldotna, Alaska. For years, they wintered as snowbirds in Harlingen, Texas. They also enjoyed going out on Saturday night for dinner and dancing with their friends.

Mary Ann treasured her time with family and grandchildren and had a way of making family occasions extra special. Mary Ann described herself as having a career of being a “happy homemaker.” Family members will remember her delicious homemade apple pies and after school cinnamon rolls and donuts. She had a special talent of using ordinary spices to make everyday food taste gourmet. Whether it was a planned gathering or an impromptu visit, her home was always company ready to host family and friends.&nbsp;

Godfrey was a Navy veteran of World War II and Mary Ann was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member of P.E.O., Chapter Z, Oregon, Missouri for over 60 years. Her faith was central to her life and she was a dedicated member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Mary Ann leaves behind a legacy of warmth, love, and community spirit that will be treasured by all who knew her.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her husband, Godfrey Alfred Payne; grandchild, David Roueche; and sisters, Rachel Cooper, Dorothy Peregrine and Mildred Uehlin.

Mary Ann is survived by her five children: Carolyn Ann Sillman of Oregon, MO, Shirley Ann Roueche, St. Joseph, MO, Godfrey Allen (Lauren) Payne of Harlingen, TX, Cecilia Ann (Jerry) Fink of Oregon, MO, and Glenn Alfred (Teresa) Payne of Oregon, MO. She is also survived by two sisters: Alice McGiness of Skidmore, MO, Virginia Blunt of Effingham, KS, and brother, Gregory Moore of St. Joseph, MO. Other survivors include ten grandchildren: Will (Jayne) Sillman, Mary Ann (Mike) Pruitt, Stephanie (Robert) Haile, Nicolas (Catherine) Roueche, Christine Payne, Tara (Paul) Blaufuss, Brian Fink, Lindsay Payne, Carrie Gregoire, and Aaron (Julianna) Payne; nineteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Mary Ann Payne 1923 - 2024

Randy Holmes, 70, of Smithville, MO passed away peacefully at home with his family on November 16, 2024.

He was born on March 11, 1954 to Raymond Orvale and Jeraldine Patricia (Aten) Holmes in Eden, Oklahoma. He graduated from Smithville High School in 1973.;On April 21, 1978 he was united in marriage to Jenny Lee Eads. After their marriage they made their home in Smithville.

Randy worked at Tire Supply in Kansas City for 20 years. He then worked as a custodian for the Smithville School District for 16 years. He loved flowers and working in the yard. His hobby was tropical fish. Randy had many tanks and participated in many fish shows. Randy was a lifetime member of the Heart of American Aquarium Club and won many trophies, ribbons, and plaques at the shows.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Smithville where he served as a deacon, currently known as Prevail Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter, Cindy Caraway.

Randy is survived by his wife, Jenny Lee of 46 years; daughter, Cathy (David) Alden; son-in-law, Jerry Caraway; grandchildren, Doety Wright, Alissa (Ben) Courtney, Jennifer Corless, Michele (Willie) Rodriquez, Kristy (Ryan) Seabaugh; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Ray (Eva) Holmes; niece, Erin (Brad) Dixson; grand-nephew; other relatives and many friends.

Daniel Lee Hayes, 80, of Smithville, MO passed away November 15, 2024.

He was born on March 4, 1944, to Norma Hazen in Stockton, KS. At the age of 4, Dan was adopted by his step-dad Ward Hayes. Dan grew up on a farm and attended grade school and graduated from Palco High School in Palco, KS. After completion of high school, Dan attended trade school to become a mechanic.

Dan was in the U.S. Army in 1964 after trade school till he was discharged in 1967.

Dan married Marcia Hayes on November 12, 1967, in Ogallah, KS. They were married for 57 years. They raised 4 children and Dan worked as a mechanic until he retired.

He was a member of the Christian Church in Ogallah, KS and Smithville Chirstian Church in Smithville, MO.

Dan also enjoyed doing woodwork and made several “neat seats” for the grandkids and several other children. He also made cradles for the granddaughters and many other wooden projects, building everything with much love.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents; son Glen Hayes, brother Steve Hayes and grandson Xavier Hayes.

He is survived by his wife Marcia Hayes of the home; children Karen (Phil) Vice of Smithville, MO, Anita Cook of Smithville, MO, Bobby (Crystal) Hayes of Wamego, KS; daughter-in-law Makenzie Hayes of Liberty, MO; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister Kathy (Jerry) Francisco of Birchwood, TN; brothers Doug (Tadhi) Hayes of Amarillo, TX, Greg (Brynda) Hayes of Ellsworth, KS and Mark (Debbie) Hayes of Eureka, KS; sister-in-law Peggy Hayes of Wichita, KS; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Seth Foster, who left this world unexpectedly on November 3rd, 2024. He was born on September 18th in the small town of Smithville, Missouri. Seth lived a vibrant life filled with laughter, love, and hard work. Throughout his journey, he made a lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals.

Seth was the cherished son of the late Scooter Foster and his loving mother, Shell Foster. Although he was preceded in death by his father, Scooter, Seth’s legacy will continue to be honored and remembered by his beloved children, Tucker and Finley Foster. They were his pride and joy; he cherished every moment spent with them! He will also be deeply missed by his devoted mother, Shell Foster, and his loving sister, Linsey Loftin (Shane), Kota and Harleigh Triplett, Alicia Helton, and Jaydon Adkins who shared countless memories with him. As they all navigate this difficult time, they will strive to hold onto the cherished memories they created together. From trips to the pumpkin patches to quiet nights spent working on the farm, each memory will serve as a reminder of the love and happiness they shared.

Seth shared a deep and meaningful connection with his grandparents, Mike and Pat Kelley. Throughout childhood, he cherished countless hours spent on their expansive farm, immersing himself in nature and creating lasting memories. Whether he was turkey hunting in the woods, hunting frogs in the nearby pond, or enjoying leisurely rounds of golf with his grandfather, affectionately known as Hepaw Mike, those moments were filled with joy, love, and laughter. The bond they nurtured shaped Seth’s early years and left a lasting impact on his life. Mike and Pat will miss him dearly, holding onto the precious memories they created together.

Seth had a profound love for the outdoors. He had a deep passion for camping, often escaping to the great outdoors where he could immerse himself in nature. Riding his Side-by-side (SXS) through the winding forest trails brought him immense joy! He was an avid mushroom hunter always sneaking away to “his honey hole”. He also spent countless hours just working on the farm. Sether loved creating unforgettable memories around the campfire (hillbilly tv), sharing stories with his closest friends/family. Seth embraced life with enthusiasm! He was always seeking new adventures and lots of mischief! His vibrant spirit and infectious laughter brought joy to everyone he encountered.

Seth had numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who adored him. He also fostered strong bonds with those who “weren’t related” by blood but felt like family anyway! Known as “Uncle Patcher,” Seth was the reigning champion of fun, teaching the little ones all kinds of mischief, games, and shenanigans they would remember fondly for years to come.

Seth’s family extended well beyond his immediate relatives; he built a community of friends who became his chosen family. If you were fortunate enough to know Seth, you were welcomed with open arms and treated as part of his close-knit circle. He was well known for his big heart, often greeting friends and strangers alike with a warm smile, a sincere handshake, and a bear hug that could brighten anyone’s day.

Seth attended North Platte High School, where he forged many lifelong friendships that would remain important to him throughout his life. After graduating, he began working at Harcros Chemicals, dedicating himself to his job and building strong relationships with his colleagues. He was the king of mischief there, always pulling pranks on his co-workers and bosses. He always said, “work hard play harder”! The camaraderie they shared at Harcros was truly his favorite part of working there! He poured his heart and soul into his work. He was respected and admired by many for his commitment and work ethic.

As we remember Seth Foster, we celebrate his love, laughter, and of course, all the mischievousness he brought to our lives. Patcher will be deeply missed but will forever remain in our hearts.

Throughout childhood, he cherished countless hours spent on their expansive farm, immersing himself in nature and creating lasting memories. Whether he was turkey hunting in the woods, hunting frogs in the nearby pond, or enjoying leisurely rounds of golf with his grandfather, affectionately known as Hepaw Mike, those moments were filled with joy, love, and laughter. The bond they nurtured shaped Seth’s early years and left a lasting impact on his life. Mike and Pat will miss him dearly, holding onto the precious memories they created together.Seth had a profound love for the outdoors. He had a deep passion for camping, often escaping to the great outdoors where he could immerse himself in nature. Riding his Side-by-side (SXS) through the winding forest trails brought him immense joy! He was an avid mushroom hunter always sneaking away to “his honey hole”. He also spent countless hours just working on the farm. Sether loved creating unforgettable memories around the campfire (hillbilly tv), sharing stories with his closest friends/family. Seth embraced life with enthusiasm! He was always seeking new adventures and lots of mischief! His vibrant spirit and infectious laughter brought joy to everyone he encountered.Seth had numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who adored him. He also fostered strong bonds with those who “weren’t related” by blood but felt like family anyway! Known as “Uncle Patcher,” Seth was the reigning champion of fun, teaching the little ones all kinds of mischief, games, and shenanigans they would remember fondly for years to come.Seth’s family extended well beyond his immediate relatives; he built a community of friends who became his chosen family. If you were fortunate enough to know Seth, you were welcomed with open arms and treated as part of his close-knit circle. He was well known for his big heart, often greeting friends and strangers alike with a warm smile, a sincere handshake, and a bear hug that could brighten anyone’s day.Seth attended North Platte High School, where he forged many lifelong friendships that would remain important to him throughout his life. After graduating, he began working at Harcros Chemicals, dedicating himself to his job and building strong relationships with his colleagues. He was the king of mischief there, always pulling pranks on his co-workers and bosses. He always said, “work hard play harder”! The camaraderie they shared at Harcros was truly his favorite part of working there! He poured his heart and soul into his work. He was respected and admired by many for his commitment and work ethic.As we remember Seth Foster, we celebrate his love, laughter, and of course, all the mischievousness he brought to our lives. She was born on April 15, 1939 to Melvin and Pearly Mae (Couch) Scott at home in rural Foyil, OK. Mary graduated from Chelsea, OK.

On November 6, 1959 she was united in marriage to Dan Andrews. After their marriage they lived in Tulsa, OK, Blue Springs, MO and moved to Grayson, MO in 1971 where they made their home.

Mary was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, crafting, taking care of her grandkids and visiting with people.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Chester, Aileen, Tutor, Sis, Prett, Polly, Sonny, Bobby and an infant.

Michael Allen Dunnihoo, 65, Savannah, MO, passed away on Monday November 11, 2024 surrounded by his family.

Michael Dunnihoo was born on June 28, 1959, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Glen and Norma (Pritchett) Dunnihoo. Michael graduated from Elwood KS High School in 1977 and spent most of his life in Savannah, MO. After graduation he quickly joined the workforce. Michael worked for the Labors Local Union 579 for over 20 years as a laborer doing many things, before he had to retire to fight his battle with cancer. He enjoyed reading, fishing, collecting Nasar memorabilia, and watching the Chiefs on Sundays. His most cherished thing to do was spending time and making memories with his daughters and grandchildren.

Michael is survived by his daughters, Jamie (Tim) Thompson, KCMO and Samantha (Carl) Cook, St. Joseph, MO, brother Randy Dunnihoo, sisters Ruth (Rob) Andres and Beth Chalender, and grandchildren Hailey, Able, Piper Elise, and Dominick Matthew. He is preceded by his parents, Glen and Norma Dunnihoo and his nephew Terry (TJ) Chalender.

She was born August 18, 1949 to Delmar Stotts and Oneta Cotterell in Mission San Jose, California.

She graduated from Larimer Community College in Fort Collins, Colorado as an LPN and then later attended Roger State College in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She worked in healthcare as a traveling nurse in seven different states. Her most rewarding was Hospice and the Aids Unit in Las Vegas.

Linda enjoyed going to the casino and her two dogs, Buffy and Pumpkin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Robert Miller and Tony Williams; and sister, Lisa Grimes.

Survivors include her children, Theresa Lindsey (Jr.), Robert Miller (Rebecca), and Kagome Miller; grandchildren, Spenser Miller, Thea Miller, Johnathan Miller, Michelle Ashley, and Valerie Lindsey Severt; great grandchildren, Jamie Lindsey, Jeremiah Severt, Jasper Severt, Rosie Miller, Leora Miller, and Finnick Miller; step-granddaughter, Jackie Dawson and her children; siblings, Anita Crawford (Dave) and David Stotts; and her companion, Daniel Ritter; numerous nieces and nephews.

Patricia Moore, 71, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at home after a long illness.

She was born June 4, 1953 in Seattle, Washington to Forest and Ruby (Yadon) Liggett. Patricia graduated from Stanberry R-2 High School in 1972 and graduated from Northwest Missouri Technical School with a degree in electronics.

Patricia married Robert Merrill Moore on March 17, 1990. He survives of the home.

She had worked at Rival Manufacturing, Sherwood Medical, Heartland Hospital and St. Luke’s Hospital.

Patricia enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and family board games. She found joy in traveling, attending festivals, going to zoos and loved animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Forest and Ruby Liggett of Stanberry, Missouri.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Robert; five children, William Francis, Rubecca Francis, Amy Brodsky, Rebecca Daniel, and Christopher Moore; 10 grandchildren, Bryson, Preston, Reilly, Rey, Riker, Grayson, Drake, Harrison, Sebastian, and Deklan; and seven great-grandchildren.

Gerald Leroy Reynolds, 92, King City, MO passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024 at a St. Joseph, MO nursing home.

     Gerald was born in Gentry County, Missouri on July 2, 1932, to George and Bertha (Stuart) Reynolds.  He attended school in the Black Oak district of Gentry County and although he was not able to complete high school due to family matters, he proudly earned his GED certificate in 1991.  His early career started at Dannen Mills feed plant in St Joseph, MO.  In the winter of 1952, Gerald met Lois Wyckoff at a dance in King City and a few short months later convinced her to marry him on August 29, 1953.  He managed to behave (just enough) that Lois stuck around for the next 70 years until her death December 24, 2023. 

     The couple moved to King City in 1959 where he farmed by day and continued working at the mill by night, remaining there until he was forced to quit due to grain dust affecting his lungs.  After the mill, Gerald was always a farmer first and was chosen State Farm Family in 1972 and worked various jobs including King City R-1 School as custodian, bus driver, painter, King City Lumber and carpenter work with Gerald Owen of Maysville.  In 1986 he started with Heartland Hospital and retired from there in 1996.

     After retirement, Gerald stayed busy traveling with Lois to Alaska twice, the New England States and the Northwest Coast.  Fishing, hunting, camping and Black Powder Rendezvous.  He was a long-standing member of Grand River Muzzleloaders and the King City Hammer Memorial United Methodist Church.  He also did volunteer work at the King City Senior Center which earned him the Missouri Lieutenant Governor’s Senior Service Award 

     Gerald’s sense of humor and mischievous behavior always managed to win people over and we are not kidding when we say he joked with everyone to his last day.  He was a hard-working man, wonderful husband and the best dad.  He thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great granddaughter.

     He was preceded in death by his wife and parents as well as sisters, Lorraine Taylor, Georgia Arlene Scott, Lois Birdsell and brother Larry Reynolds and son-in-law, Danny Barber.

     Gerald is survived by daughters, Terry (Craig) DeBord, Becky (Terry) Grable, Julie Barber and son, Garry (Lou Piper) Reynolds; grandchildren, Brandy (Toby) Graham, Hillary (Lee) Worley, Travis (Amber) DeBord, Misty MacLeod (Ryan Lillard), Jeremy Grable, Tyson (Alanda) Rathfon and Danay Majors along with 

12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  He is also survived by his sister Lila Hinkle and numerous nieces and nephews.

     Gerald has been cremated under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, King City, MO.

     The family will hold a Celebration of Life on December 7, 2024 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Hammer Memorial UMC, King City, MO. A private family inurnment will be at a later date.

Patty lived a life characterized by her boundless love for her family, her warm conversations, and her heartfelt generosity.

Patty is survived by her son, Kevin Dye (Stacey); brother, Harold Beadel (Darlene); seven grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren who were the light of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Curtis Dye; children, Curtis G. and Terry L. Dye (Terri); granddaughter-in-law, Shawna Dye; and brothers, Billy, Melvin and Robert Beadel.

Patty's life was marked by her hard work as a dedicated laundromat attendant across various establishments in St. Joseph, MO. Patty thrived outdoors and had a profound love for animals, often seen nurturing the animals around her neighborhood. Known for her chatty and down-to-earth nature, she never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, even strangers.

Deeply involved with church, Patty's faith was evident in her actions and in her commitment to serving others. Her love for socializing meant that no family gathering or church function was complete without her presence.

Kathryn Alexandria Boyle -Griffin of Troy, Kansas age 54, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, in Atchison, Kansas.

Kathryn was born on December 9, 1969, in Atchison, Kansas to James Howard and Doris Marion (Thornton) Griffin.

Kathryn was a 1988 graduate of Troy High School. She then would go on to receive her LPN degree from Atchison Vo-tech. Kathryn was married in the summer of 1988 and had two children, Airyan Marie Boyle born October 6, 1993, and Jonathan Sheffield Boyle born June 24, 2000.

Kathryn was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in the early 2000’s, regardless Kathryn lived her life to the fullest and greeted others with a smile. Kathryn is survived by her father and mother James and Doris Griffin, her brother, William Griffin and her children Airyan and Jonathan Boyle, grandchildren, Kaeleigh, Brantley, Kinsey and Blaklie along with nieces and nephews.

Kathryn Alexandria Boyle-Griffin 1969 - 2024

Patsy Louise Donahoo, age 81 of Amazonia MO, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2024. &nbsp;

Patsy was born April 26, 1943, the only child of Earl and Bessie Wandfluh near Rosendale MO. &nbsp;

She was a 1961 graduate of North Andrew High School, where she was an active member of the Alumni Group. Their seven friends still met regularly for dinner and social outings.

Mrs. Donahoo spent her career in the grocery business as store manager for Thomas’ Market and Green Hills, retiring in 2017. She treasured her time spent with coworkers and made lasting friendships.

Patsy enjoyed quilting, crocheting, craft making and traveling to visit her family in many different states over the years. She also looked forward to playing the penny slots at the local casino. Above all Patsy was devoted to her family and time spent with them and her beloved dog, Daisy.

She is survived by her son Tracy Donahoo and wife (Sheila), daughter Stacy Cantu and husband (Anthony), son Trevor Donahoo and wife (Tina), son Troy Donahoo and wife (Shauna), son Todd Donahoo and wife (Jennifer). She was an amazing Grandma to 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and another great grandson on the way.

​Patsy was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial Service 11:00 AM Monday, November 18, 2024 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Inurnment St. John’s Cemetery, Amazona, MO.
