Victor G. Dye, 86, of rural Savannah, Missouri passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at a local health care facility. Victor was born August 4, 1938, son of Charles and Helen (Barton) Dye. He was a 1956 graduate of Savannah High School. Victor spent many of his working years in the can making industry, working locally for Continental Can. He then moved to St. Louis and Texas, working for several can companies. He eventually relocated back to his homestead and worked as a Plant Manager at Galt Packaging and retired from WRDCC as a Corrections Officer. Vic was a hard worker, rather it be on his farm or in the can plant. He enjoyed much of his retirement years spending time at Big Lake, camping, going out on his pontoon and spoiling his dogs.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Duane and Darrell Dye, sister, Margaret Hart, son-in-law's, Frank Ortega and Jeff Sampson. Survivors include his children, Vickie Ortega of St. Joseph, Carolyn (Galen) Sampson-Winger of DeKalb, MO, David (Paula) Dye of Conroe, TX, Larry (Tina) Dye of Hockley, TX, and Terry Dye of Savannah, MO, brother-in-law, Bob Hart, 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and was expecting his 1st great-great grandchild.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Rupp Funeral Home with Chaplain Dave Hugger officiating. Interment to follow at Flag Springs Cemetery, Flag Springs, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Parkinson's Foundation.
