Bev’s life began on June 5th, 1947, in Topeka, Kansas. She was the daughter of Donald and Helen (Besta) Richard. She graduated from Topeka High School in 1965. She married Tom Kennedy on September 18, 1971, in Holton, Kansas. Together they celebrated 53 years of marriage and had two sons. Bev worked as a mail clerk, for the Shawnee County Courthouse, retiring after 37 years of service. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on May 18, 2026, just weeks before her 78th birthday.
Bev enjoyed having the company of her family and friends, if you visited her home, you always felt welcome, had great conversation and many laughs. She loved her lunch dates with girlfriends, birthday gatherings, and long chats on the phone. She loved her family fiercely, was their biggest cheerleader, enjoyed spending her time attending her sons, and eventually grandkids, sporting events. Her two sons were the center of her world, and she embraced her daughters-in-law with love. Her four grandchildren held a special place in her big heart, and she was a friend to so many. A proud dog lover, Bev was never without a loyal boxer by her side. Bev made the best homemade pie; she had to have baked hundreds over the years and often gifted them to family and friends.
Beverly Ann Kennedy passed away, on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at her home in Silver Lake, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Pam Intlehouse.
Survivors include husband, Tom Kennedy; their two sons, Dustin Kennedy and wife Mandi of Lakewood, CO and Michael Kennedy and wife Jessa of Silverlake, KS; and 4 grandchildren, Shane, Adalyn, Kyler, and Brecken Kennedy.
Bev was truly one of a kind. Bev was known for her friendly smile, her joking personality, and kind heart. Though her physical presence is gone, Bev's light, laughter and love live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family would like to thank all the family and friends that have offered condolences and helped us through this difficult time.
