Joseph K. Lewis, Jr., 69, Leawood, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023.&nbsp;

He was born December 3, 1953 in St. Joseph to Joseph K. Lewis, Sr. and Gloria (Beckwith) Lewis. Joe grew up in St. Joseph, graduating from Lafayette High School in 1972.

He earned his law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, then opened his law practice, Herron and Lewis, in Kansas City. Later he returned home to St. Joseph, where he practiced law until retiring in 2014.

Joe’s passion was his daughters and coaching their youth sports teams. One of his proudest achievements was creating The Flash competitive softball team. He later served on the board of the Olathe Girls Softball Association for many years.

He enjoyed gardening, landscaping, playing guitar, writing music and singing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Nancy Lewis.

Survivors include his daughters, Darin Wisner (Greg) and Blair Lewis; stepdaughter, Britni Jarvis (Sean); five grandchildren, Finley and Parker Wisner, and Ella, Mia and Livy Jarvis; brothers, Jeff Lewis and Jerry Lewis; numerous other extended family members and friends.

The family gives special thanks to Joe’s cousin Doug Beckwith, who was always there for Joe and his family.

Michael Ferry-Torres was a loving son, brother and friend to all that he met. He left this world on November 27, 2023 at the age of 58. Michael was born to Raphael and Irene (Watts) Ferry-Torres on May 13, 1965.&nbsp;

All who were blessed to have known Michael will agree that any of his special needs were vastly overshadowed by his truly special gifts. &nbsp;Michael was quick to share his inner happiness and infectious smile with both those he loved as well as a complete stranger; understanding that love begins with a smile.&nbsp;

Michael could deliver a firm handshake as well as an almost bone crushing hug that made everyone feel as though they were the most special person in the world to him. &nbsp;His constant concerns were for the activities of those around him. Any hello was quickly followed with questions about “what did you do last night, what did you do today, what are you doing tomorrow”. &nbsp;Michael’s unique and gentle reminder that you were always in his thoughts. &nbsp;

Michael’s love for God made him a staple at several churches throughout the community. &nbsp;Michael maintained cases of recordings that he collected over the years of sermons, hymns and religious services. &nbsp;Only on rare occasion would he be unable to record an event and he clearly made his frustration known. &nbsp;Perhaps it was in the Church that he cultivated his lifelong appreciation for music as he surrounded himself with keyboards, guitars and record players.

The only challenge to his appreciation of music was his love of movies. Michael’s collection could rival most movie rental stores. &nbsp;His care for his collection was clear when he once discovered that some of his movies were getting dusty; and in his innocence concluded that a quick wash in the kitchen sink would remedy the situation. &nbsp;

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Raphael and niece Mindy.&nbsp;

Surviving family members include his mother Irene, and sisters Debbie, (Terry), and Becky (Randy).&nbsp;

A visitation will be held 1000-1100, Thursday November 30th, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Hiawatha,&nbsp; with a memorial service to follow. A luncheon will be offered immediately following the service at 301 E. Iowa Hiawatha, Kansas.

Graveside service to be held at Rose Hill Cemetery, Robinson Kansas at a future date.

Michael Ferry-Torres 1965 - 2023

Richard Arnold Harris, 76, of Mound City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at an Oregon, Missouri nursing home with loved ones by his side on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.

Richard was born at home in Mound City on February 25, 1947, the son of Ruth Ellen Travis and George Sillars Harris.

Throughout life he was affectionately known as "Old Soldier." He proudly served in the Nebraska National Guard for 13 years.&nbsp;

He had an exemplary work ethic. Richard was loving and caring to all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Richard was preceded in death by his father; his mother, Ruth Littler; and his brother-in-law, Dan Johnson.

Survivors include his sister and caretaker, Debra Johnson of Mound City; brothers, David Turvey and James (Caron) Harris of Groton, Connecticut; niece, Dusti (Jeff) Franz; nephew, James (Diane) Harris, Jr. of Stonington, Connecticut; along with many cousins and his beloved dog, Lacy.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all his doctors, hospice workers, and caregivers.

Claude Halbert (Hal) Jones, Jr., age 81, passed away on November 25, 2023, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, MO. Hal was born in Norman, AR to Alta Maxine (Rice) and Claude Halbert Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings (Barbara Fryar, Nell Bullock, and Eddie Jones). 

Hal was raised in Mt. Ida, AR and was a proud Mt. Ida Lion who graduated with the Class of 1960. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1961-1965 where he learned welding and electronics. Later he applied those skills to a career in welding and robotics support services and sales based in St. Louis, MO. He raised his family in Florissant, MO where he lived for nearly 40 years. He retired back to Mt. Ida in 2004 before spending his final few years at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, MO. 

Hal was kind and generous with his time to serve others. He was always willing to lend a hand to support those around him. He loved his family, and his friends who were like family. Outside of work, Hal was an avid reader, a strong chess and dominoes player, and a lifelong lover of music, history, and sports. He played basketball in his youth and throughout his life enjoyed attending games of any kind, especially if his grandchildren were playing. 

Hal is survived by daughters Kerri (Brad) Bunge of Platte City, MO and Kelli (Brian) Nienaber of Alexandria, VA, and his beloved grandchildren Kyle, Luke, Travis, Daniel, Alison, and Isaac. Surviving family includes siblings Gayle (Noah) Williamson, Shirley Rogers, Jonnie Irvan, Sam (Carolyn) Jones, Charlie Jones, Nancy (Glen) Cogburn, Bill (Evelyn) Jones, Jack Jones, Colleen (Ricky) Mitchell, Paula (Jim) Noga, Jan (Danny) Richey, Ken Jones, plus numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Claude Halbert (Hal) Jones 1942 - 2023

Michael R. Dean, 62 of Weston, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2023. The son of Mary Ann and George Dean, Michael was a father, brother, friend, veteran, master chef, hunter, woodworker, and legendary fisherman. Well, sort of. There was never a man better at spending so much money on fishing equipment, yet notoriously never bringing home a big enough catch. At least, never in the presence of his four skeptical daughters. Michael was a man who not only danced to the beat of his own drum but carried around a full 7-piece band full of shimmy and beat, always encouraging others to sing along. Michael worked tirelessly and was severely underpaid in his full-time role as a father, but always “grinned and bared it”, often quoted as saying, “God blessed me with four daughters. I’ve got a straight ticket to heaven after living my life in hell.” He most certainly did. Michael had many great loves in his life, but none greater than his four girls: Hannah Dean Lataille, Sarah Garfield, Rachel Dean, and Rebecca Dean. He eventually gained two sons, Thomas and Julian - after a lifetime of dreaming, only overlooking the fact that neither of them had any interest in hunting or fishing. 

He is survived by his four daughters; sister Paula Cronk (husband Robert) and brother Roger Dean; nieces and nephews James McBride (wife Leslie), Somer McBride (husband Anthony and children, Hudson and Connor), David Cronk, Mary Ann Birch (children, Aubrey and Jackson), Robert Cronk (wife Kaitlyn), Elizabeth Heintzelman (husband Tyler), Georgia Lynn Dean, Marie Dean (child Lucius), and Hunter Dean. 

As a jack of all trades, he reinvented himself many times as a working professional. He served as a sailor in the U.S. Navy, became a distinguished salesman, and later in life, returned to government work as a technology and logistics expert. Michael added vibrancy to the lives of others, a selfless man who surprisingly detested more than anything being confined in a room full of people, no matter the celebration or occasion. Yet, it would be an understatement to say that Michael Dean merely occupied a space when he managed to fill it with so much belly-shaking laughter. 

Michael Dean lived a short life more loved than most lived. He held titles of Pops, UMO, “Bug Man”, Elvis, and the most important: Fishing King… I mean, Dad. Because of his irrational fear of suits and formal events, the family will hold a non-traditional service celebrating the life of Michael Dean. We kindly ask that you attend wearing attire that represents your favorite “Michael Dean” Era, please leave your suit and tie at home. (Unless, of course, you are opting for his Thomas Register era).

Viva Vernell “Sam” Pierson, 89, of St. Joseph, MO passed away November 28, 2023.

She was born on August 8, 1934, to Virgil Van Buren and Martha Elizabeth (Roberts) Hawkins in St. Joseph, MO where she grew up and graduated from Benton High School.&nbsp;

Sam enjoyed writing, published 7 books and loved spending money on her grandchildren.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death her husband’s Edwin M. Dwyer and Jack L. Pierson; her parents Virgil and Martha Hawkins; her brothers Billy Hawkins, Cecil Hawkins and Marvin Hawkins; and her sisters Erma Bennett and Donna Searcy.

Sam is survived by her son David Dwyer and wife Jennifer; 2 grandchildren Cody Dwyer and Emma Dwyer; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.&nbsp;

Darin Klusman, 57, of Smithville, MO passed away, November 28, 2023 at his home.

He was born on July 1, 1966 in Smithville, MO where he grew up and attended school. Darin enjoyed cooking, racing RC Cars, and football. He was a Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fan. Music was an important part of his life and loved playing drums.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Darin Klusman 1966 - 2023

Rosa Mae Gardner, 97, of Dearborn, MO passed away November 27, 2023.&nbsp;

&nbsp;She was born on April 6, 1926, to Charles E. and Eliza Elizabeth (Evans) Short in Greenwood, MO. Rosa grew up and attended school in Pleasant Hill, MO.&nbsp;

She married Fred W. Gardner and they made their home in Dearborn. Fred passed away in 2001.

Rosa drove a school bus for the North Platte School District before working in the restaurant at the Holiday Inn by the airport in Kansas City for many years. She later worked at the Gower Convalescent Center where she everyone’s “Granny” until she had to retire after she broke her hip at the age of 92. Rosa enjoyed gardening and reading. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and was a wonderful Mamie to her many grand and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Gardner, her son Clattie Melvin Burrow, and one brother.

Rosa is survived by her children Shirley Bottom, Richard Burrow and Jeanie Moulyn; grandchildren Elicia Taylor, Patrick Kelley, Sherrie Coulter, and Melissa Bottom; great-grandchildren Caysen Kelley and Drake, Mason and Peyton Nickell; great-great-granddaughter Haven Grace Nickell; her brothers and sisters Tommy (Sue) Short, Ida Wilkerson, Myrtle Green, and Patty (Joe) Strumph; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Rosa Mae Gardner, 97, of Dearborn, MO passed away November 27, 2023.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was born on April 6, 1926, to Charles E. and Eliza Elizabeth (Evans) Short in Greenwood, MO. Rosa grew up and attended school in Pleasant Hill, MO.&nbsp;She married Fred W. Gardner and they made their home in Dearborn. Fred passed away in 2001.Rosa drove a school bus for the North Platte School District before working in the restaurant at the Holiday Inn by the airport in Kansas City for many years. She later worked at the Gower Convalescent Center where she everyone’s “Granny” until she had to retire after she broke her hip at the age of 92. Rosa enjoyed gardening and reading. They went to Mexico several times and they also went to Michigan where they would spend time with Amy and Shelley (Bill’s nieces). Linda also liked gardening and especially her flowers. Ima Jean "Happy" Angold, 94, passed away November 28, 2023. &nbsp;She was born May 16, 1929 to David and Mary (Rasco) King in Colony, Kansas. &nbsp;Her family moved to Barnard, Missouri where she spent her early years. &nbsp;Her family then moved to St. Joseph, Missouri.

Her early years in St. Joseph found her playing fast pitch softball. &nbsp;She graduated from Lafayette High School in 1947. &nbsp;She was a member of the Lampion Honor Society.

She married Ralph Angold on July 17, 1948, and together they raised two sons, Larry (Cheryl) Angold and Roger (Tracy) Angold. &nbsp;She and Ralph were married until his death on March 23, 1993.

Besides her sons and wives, Happy is survived by five grandchildren, Jennifer (JR) Oldham, Jessica (Chris) Sass, Adrian (Emily) Angold, Amity (Vicente') Zepeda and Ashby (Victor) Garcia. &nbsp;She also has nine great-grandchildren.

Happy worked as a secretary for Angold Plumbing when she was first married. She later worked as a car biller for Casey Myers and Arlo Ericson auto dealerships. &nbsp;She was past president of Washington Grade School PTA and also served as a Cub Scout Den Mother.

Happy spent many years at her and Ralph's lake cabin boating and fishing with family. &nbsp;She was a superb ski boat driver for over 30 years. &nbsp;She bowled into her eighties and also taught line dancing into her eighties. &nbsp;She was also a member of the kitchen band at the Senior Center. &nbsp;She was still attending social dances and playing cards until her illness. &nbsp;Happy was also known for her crocheting and craft projects.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Kenneth King and sisters Vealea Goddard and Deane Alkire.

The family would like to thank the nurses and techs at Living Community for the excellent and compassionate care she received during her stay. &nbsp;We also would like to thank Mosaic Hospice care givers.

Gordon Ernest Graham, 76, Powhattan, Kansas, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023.

He was born October 30, 1947 to Eri S. and Dulce A. (Wooldridge) Graham in Denver, Colorado.

Gordon married his high school sweetheart, Roxie Joann Tallent on July 3, 1966.

He worked as a plant manager for Guiltless Gourmet for 10 years.

Gordon was a member of the United States Air Force for 6 years. He was awarded commendation by the United States Air Force as a Russian Linguist for being the first to hear and report Russian invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968.

He enjoyed reading, working with horses, telling jokes and tall tales. He was most happy making people laugh and dreamed of writing tales of the Gozzerwimples and had their original poem published by Half Priced Books. He had the softest of spots for babies and animals, and of course his sweetheart, Roxie. He was fascinated with creating new recipes, some of which were successful, some of which were successfully disposed of. He was a man a fierce emotions and never felt anything half way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Wes Graham, Edith Wilson, and Kevin Graham.

Survivors include his wife, Roxie; children, Jim and Sarah (daughter-in-law) Graham and their son Kaden, Jeff Graham and his children, Roman and Nochtli, Jesse and Chris (son-in-law) Roberts, and her daughter, Ehlana, Janna and Dan (son-in-law) Hinds, their daughters, Sydney and Parker, and Jon Graham, and his children Haylee and Mason.

He was born on August 13, 1976, in Springfield, Missouri to Stanley and Janet Handley. Doug was a graduate of Fair Grove High School.

He spent over twenty years working as a steelworker and welder for different companies, including Wire Rope, Durham and BlueScope.

Doug enjoyed bow hunting, competitive archery, riding on his motorcycle and enjoying a few drinks with his friends. He loved spending time with his family members.

Survivors include his daughters, Kaylee Clark (Ridge) and Korbie Handley, grandchildren, Sawyer and Colson Clark, and his mother, Janet Handley.

Ron L. Dowden, 89, St Joseph, MO, passed away on November 27, 2023. Born on September 18, 1934, he was raised by his loving parents Ralph and Helen (Waldroff) Dowden, who preceded him in death, along with brothers, Dean Dowden (Betty) and Marvin Dowden.

After graduating from Central in 1952, Ron wed the love of his life, Virginia "Ginger" Lee Nichols, on June 24, 1955. Their sixty-eight years of marriage not only saw them through many adventures but also blessed them with an expanding family circle.

He began his career in the U.S. Coast Guard, later transferring his service to the United States Army, where he diligently served as a personnel specialist. He expanded on his military career by joining the Air National Guard, as a C-97 Aircraft Loadmaster, a boom operator on the KC-97 aerial refueller, an Aircraft Loadmaster on the C-130, superintendent of the aerial port and finally, he served as the senior enlisted advisor for the state of MO. After his impressive tenure in military service, he spent his retirement delivering flowers for Butchart.

A man of diverse interests, Ron was an active member of Moila Shriner, American Legion Post 359, the National Air Guard Association, and the ANG Chiefs group. He enjoyed sports, including golf, racquetball, playing basketball and pitch. A Chiefs football fan, Ron made each game day special, whether cheering from the stands or the comfort of his home.

Left to honor and remember Ron's love are his beloved wife, Ginger Dowden; children, Robin Oyerly, Rod Dowden (Sandy), and Rhonda Pritchett (Harvey); grandchildren, Casey Workman, Tyler Nutt (Andy), Colby Oyerly (Sasha), Kyle Dowden, and Jared Dowden; great-grandchildren, Vanessah, Hagen, Brendan, Enslee, Ember, Khaidyn, Victoria, Easton, Luke, Lily Ann, and Elliahna. He was also survived by his best friends, Gary and Ernie McIntosh, and Patty Harvey. Plus, numerous friends from Wyatt Park Christian and members of the 139th. He also had a multitude of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

After his impressive tenure in military service, he spent his retirement delivering flowers for Butchart.A man of diverse interests, Ron was an active member of Moila Shriner, American Legion Post 359, the National Air Guard Association, and the ANG Chiefs group. He enjoyed sports, including golf, racquetball, playing basketball and pitch. Donna Mae Huff, 78, Winston, Missouri, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023.&nbsp;

She was born June 26, 1945 in Newfolden, Minnesota to Elmer and Minnie (Nelson) Amundson.

Donna married Kenney J. Huff, Jr. on December 18, 1965. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2020.

Donna loved her home. As a designer, both interior and exterior, she kept a beautiful house and spent countless hours tending to her flower gardens and mowing the lawn. She also loved to watch “The Virginian” on TV and watch birds, especially the Martins she waited for every year when they returned from Brazil to their home in Winston.

Family meant the world to Donna, and she loved spending time with the children and grandchildren. She loved to cook for her family, making birthday cakes for everyone, including for her son Shawn right up to his 48th birthday. When she received her cancer diagnosis in July 2023, she went home and made loaves of banana bread for everyone in the family so they’d have it for the holidays. She always wanted to make sure the family was taken care of.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Kenney; her son, Shannon Lee Huff; her parents; and her beloved dogs, Coco and Lady.

Survivors include her children, Chad Allen Huff, Lisa Shortino (John), and Shawn Huff; grandchildren, Brandi Huff and Krystal Youngs; great-grandchildren, Kloie Rouner, Peyton Rouner, and Charley Youngs; siblings, Elroy Amundson (Sharon), Bonnie Todd, and Jennifer Monson; and her beloved dog, Bookie.

HIAWATHA, KS &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Sharon L. Twombly, of Hiawatha, with family by her side, passed away November 26, 2023 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.&nbsp; She was 71.

Sharon was born at Highland, October 31, 1952, the third of eight children born to Frank and Beverly Alfrey Lentz and had lived nearly all of her life in the Doniphan-Brown County area. &nbsp;She grew up at Iowa Point, attended Highland schools, graduating from Highland High School with the class of 1970. &nbsp;Sharon attended and graduated nurses training at Vo-Tech with as an LPN. &nbsp;Through the years, she worked in hospitals in St. Joseph and Kansas City area until retiring several years ago due to declining health.

Survivors include her children: &nbsp;Jason Jundy (Jamie), Chrissy Twombly (Jason Davis), Benjamin Twombly (Linda Cavin); &nbsp; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. &nbsp; Also surviving are her siblings: &nbsp;Virginia Lentz, Ellie Lentz, Doug Lentz, and Susan Nissan (Richard).

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: &nbsp;Ben, Jim and Thomas.

Services are planned for 11 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2023, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Highland, with Pastor Rich Lehmkuhl officiating. &nbsp;Interment will follow at Iowa Point Cemetery, north of Highland.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 noon until 5 p.m. Thursday.

Peggy L. (Sipes) Whipple, 91, entered Heavens Gates on November 23, 2023 following a brief stay at The Woodlands Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Texas.&nbsp;

Born April 15, 1932 and raised in Oregon, Missouri, she was the daughter of Frank and Lulu (Huiatt) Sipes. Peggy was a committed Christian and active in the Southern Baptist Church, and a loving wife and mother.

As a young lady Peggy worked in the Oregon telephone office with her mother. &nbsp;Peggy then taught multiple grades in a country one-room school. &nbsp;After caring for a student with epilepsy she became interested in in nursing. She graduated in 1955 from Missouri Methodist Hospital in St Joseph as a Registered Nurse. &nbsp;After a meaningful career she retired as a head nurse in surgery at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock, Texas.

On April 30, 1955 Peggy married Robert H. "Bob" Whipple of Forest City. &nbsp;Bob preceded her into eternity and promised to “meet her at Heaven’s Gates and carry her in.” &nbsp;Also preceding her in death were her brother Jerry Sipes, and her sister Marianne Anderson.

She is survived by their three children, Judy (Mark) Reynolds, and twins Tom (Mary) Whipple, and Tim (JoAnne) Whipple; six grandchildren, Joe Reynolds, Chris (Davida) Reynolds, Jennifer Whipple, Kirk Whipple, Kylee Whipple, and Ryan Whipple; two great grandchildren, Autumn Reynolds and Benjamin Reynolds; and her brother, Dr. Larry (Nancy) Sipes.

Elvis Dewayne Hatheway, 54 of Union Star, MO passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023 at his home in Union Star. &nbsp;He was born December 7th, 1968 to Elvis D. &amp; Marilyn (Angle) Hatheway. &nbsp;He married Terri Wolfenbarger in 2000 in St. Josph, MO. and she survives of the home. &nbsp;

Elvis enjoyed playing music, going on horse trail rides with his family and he loved hunting and fishing with family and friends. He always felt at peace in the mountains of Colorado

Maria Elena Stone 82, of St. Joseph, MO passed away Monday, November 27, 2023 in a St. Joseph, MO. health care center. She was born November 21, 1941 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of the late Antiona and Guadalupe Castanada. She graduated from Convent of the Sacred Heart high school. Maria married Joe Stone on November 29, 1961 and he survives of the home. She worked at H.D.Lee and the Sisters Hospital and was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing  bingo, slot machines, dog racing, and spending time with family. Maria was a member of  the St. James Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, great-grandson, Herschel Snethen, brothers, Pascual Jaramillo, Mike Jaramillo, Nick Carillo, Conda Carillo, and sister, Sally Kuschel. He graduated from Carthage High School, in Carthage, NY class of 1982. He married Melody Barnes on February 14, 1999 in Las Vegas. He served in the US Army and US Army Reserves. He previously worked at Bob Betts Auto and Bradken Steel. His hobbies included hunting and fishing, shooting guns, camping, wood working and crafts. He was an avid animal lover and enjoyed family gatherings. Carlton was preceded in death by mother, Carol Olmstead, step-father, Dewey Genito. Russell Earl Jobes, Jr., 80, of St. Joseph, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at his residence.

Mr. Jobes was born on February 20, 1943 in St. Joseph to the late Russell E. Jobes, Sr. and Dorothy L. (Pauly) Jobes.&nbsp;

After graduating high school, he embarked on a career as an electrician. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 545 and spent several decades in the trade until his retirement.

Russell married Sharon Pinson in April of 1974. Mrs. Jobes survives him of the home.&nbsp;

He was a member of the Community Christian Church and the St. Joseph Rifle and Pistol Club and took part in numerous Sport Shooting Competitions achieving many high honors for his marksmanship. He was also an avid hunter.

In addition to his wife of 49 years, He is survived by children; Jeffery Jobes, Todd Reynolds, Kelly Henry and Amy Reynolds and sister; Marsha.

Mr. Jobes has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel.&nbsp;

There are no formal services scheduled, however, the family will receive friends 1:00-3:00 PM &nbsp;Friday, &nbsp;December 1st at the family home.

An inurnment will be held at a later date at Bennett Lane Cemetery in Savannah.

Russell Earl Jobes 1943 - 2023

Kathryn Ann Swing, 70, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, November 24th, 2023. Kathy was born December 17th, 1952 in Orange County, CA to Ralph and Cora Lee Bergman. She was the first of four siblings.&nbsp;

She married David Swing on November 19th, 1983, and they were married for 40 wonderful years. Kathy graduated from Central High School in 1970 and worked for St. Joseph Light and Power for 10 years before becoming a homemaker. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church for 40 years and later a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe. She was a devout Catholic, firmly placed in her love for Jesus, and was involved with several committees and Sunday school, including serving as an adorer at MIR House.

Kathy loved spending time and being silly with her grandchildren. They brought her tremendous joy as did she for them! She loved caring for God’s little birds in her yard and tending to her flowerbeds. Kathy also loved sewing and making quilts to share with family, friends, and those in need. Baking was another one of her many talents, especially pies. Kathy’s beloved ’55 Chevy Bel-Air was a part of her identity and recognized by many around town throughout the 32 years she got to drive it. Anyone who was blessed enough to have met or loved Kathy knew that joy and laughter followed her wherever she went, and we’ll carry that with us in our hearts.

Kathy was preceded in death by both her mother and father.

She is survived by husband David Swing, siblings Ralph Jr (Cara) Bergman and Scott (Lori) Bergman; children Robin Lynn-Godar, Rebecca Lawhon and Kale (Lindsay) Swing; grandchildren Ryan, Deonte, Lanisha, Angel, Delilah, Hunter and River; and great grandchild Roman.

Kathryn Ann Swing, 70, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, November 24th, 2023. Kathy was born December 17th, 1952 in Orange County, CA to Ralph and Cora Lee Bergman. She was the first of four siblings.&nbsp;She married David Swing on November 19th, 1983, and they were married for 40 wonderful years. Kathy graduated from Central High School in 1970 and worked for St. Joseph Light and Power for 10 years before becoming a homemaker. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church for 40 years and later a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe. She was a devout Catholic, firmly placed in her love for Jesus, and was involved with several committees and Sunday school, including serving as an adorer at MIR House.Kathy loved spending time and being silly with her grandchildren. They brought her tremendous joy as did she for them! She loved caring for God’s little birds in her yard and tending to her flowerbeds. Kathy also loved sewing and making quilts to share with family, friends, and those in need. Baking was another one of her many talents, especially pies. Kathy’s beloved ’55 Chevy Bel-Air was a part of her identity and recognized by many around town throughout the 32 years she got to drive it.
