Donald Ray Barnett, a devoted family man and outdoorsman, passed away on July 22, 2025 at the age of 87. Born in Plattsburgh, Missouri to Paul and Myrtle Barnett, Donald was raised by his loving grandparents, Charley and Sarah Barnett.
Donald spent his life working hard and pursuing his passions. He was known for selling rabbits and squirrels to many residents in Plattsburg, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit. He worked tirelessly for the East Buchanan C-1 school and later for the City of Saint Joseph as a bricklayer for the sewer department.
Donald's love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies of fishing and hunting. He shared these passions with his children and many others, teaching them the joys of the great outdoors.
Donald's family was his greatest treasure. He is survived by his children, Barry Barnett, Paul Davis, Cassandra (Allen) Henley, and Sean (Melynda) Barnett; his siblings, Dalvin (Lavetta) Barnett, Marie Pugh, and John Barnett; his ex-wife Sabrina (Dick) Campbell; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his brother Clifford, sister Dorothy Maupin, parents, grandparents, and grandson Gabriel.
Donald's legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the memories he created with his loved ones.
The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday July 30, 2025, Bullock Family Funeral Chapel.
