Riley Beth Taylor, 21, of Savannah passed away April 3, 2024. &nbsp;She was born July 29, 2002 to Timothy &amp; Shannon (Gay) Taylor. &nbsp;

Riley was a beautiful, kindhearted, gentle soul who was always there when you needed her. She had a deep love for all of the children that she took care of in her life. Riley’s most loved hobby was cooking with her mother. Shopping with all the women in her life and taking care of her cat Remi.

Larry “Kent” Miller, 65, of Helena, MO passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024 at his home in Helena. &nbsp;He was born on May 25, 1958 to Larry G. &amp; Vernelle (Farrell) Miller. &nbsp;He married Raelyn Dewey on April 12, 1991 in St. Jospeh and she survives of the home.

Kent graduated from Savannah High School in 1976, joining the US Navy later that year where he proudly served as a boiler technician 2nd class on various ships ported in Oakland and Long Beach, CA. &nbsp;His fleet traveled around the world where he was able to visit various countries such as Japan, Pakistan and Australia. &nbsp;His ship was also in the fleet that accompanied the recommissioned USS Missouri from Long Beach, CA to port in Hawaii. &nbsp;Being a native Missourian, he was very proud of this expedition.

Kent enjoyed working as a diesel mechanic, most recently for Matt’s Mobile Truck Repair, and also the years he spent over the road in his semi. &nbsp; He loved living and working on the farm and always had a host of pets surrounding him. &nbsp;He was a member of Amazonia VFW Post 12053. &nbsp;

Survivors include his wife; sister, Lori (Jerald Bowland) Sticken of Savannah, MO; nephew, Keiffer (Shianne Bisig) Sticken of Columbia, MO; sister-in-law, Cindi Dewey of Kingman, AZ; aunt, Leota Wilson of Country Club, MO; and numerous family and friends. &nbsp;He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Kevin Sticken.

Dawn Michelle Warden 52, of Atchison, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at her home surrounded by family. She was born June 12, 1971 in Leavenworth, KS, daughter of Monika (Harding) and Mark Warden. Dawn attended Leavenworth High School, and worked various jobs in the Construction field. She enjoyed cooking, spending time at the lake and time with her friends and family. She was a Harley Davidson enthusiast, and enjoyed traveling around supporting various biker events. 

Dawn was preceded in death by her father, Mark Warden, and nephew, Michael Harris. John Earl Young was born on June 3, 1940 to John and Icle Young in Sheridan, MO. John passed away after a brief illness on March 31, 2024 at the North Kansas City Hospital Hospice Center he was 83. John grew up in Sheridan, MO and graduated from Sheridan High School. He spent his early adult years in St. Joseph, MO where he worked at several different banks. He moved to Kansas City in the early 1970's and eventually became a National Bank Examiner. During all this time, John's major interest was the United States Air Force. Early on, he joined the United States Air Force Reserves and served our nation for 34 years. John was an avid skier and was a member of the Kansas City Ski Club. He was also a member of The Masonic Lodge. His hobby was reading and studying history, particularly military war history. John was single and had no children.

Dwight E. Fields, 81, Fillmore, Missouri; passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at a local health care center.

Dwight was born on October 17, 1942 in Andrew County, Missouri to the late Gerald and Jeannette (Spicer) Fields. &nbsp;He was a graduate of Fillmore High School.

Mr. Fields served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War era earning a National Defense Service Medal.

Dwight was owner and operator of Fields Garage and had previously worked as a welder at Richmond Screw and Anchor.

Dwight was a member of the Fillmore Methodist Church. &nbsp;He was a lifetime member of the VFW and was an avid outdoorsman; enjoying horseback riding, camping, hunting and fishing.

Dwight married Ruth Ann Wilson on August 13, 1966 and celebrated fifty-seven years of marriage.

Dwight is survived by his wife, Ruth, of the home; son, Brian Fields (Liz); daughter, Michele Weber (Dan); grandchildren, Kelby, Joshua, Taryn, Hayden, Sammy and Christopher; five great-grandchildren, Emery, Addy, William, Brayden and Lily; two sisters, Caroline Fansher and Diana Davison (Keith) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service 11:00 AM Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM. &nbsp;Military honors will be rendered on our courtyard following the service.

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Michael Dillon McCarty, 41, a resident of St Joseph Missouri, on April 1st, 2024.&nbsp;

Dillon was born on May 10, 1982, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Son of Heidi (Mullen) Wilson and the late Patrick Michael McCarty. Dillon is survived by his two sisters, Allison (Kevin) Reed and Carson (Mason) Meier as well as his brothers, Buck Wilson and Beau (Maria) Wilson. Although he didn't have children of his own, he loved spending time with all his nieces and nephews, Heidi, Kolton, Annika, Kurtis, Melody, Keith, Cale, Mason and Ollie.&nbsp;

Dillon enjoyed making others smile and had an unending supply of dad jokes, corny puns, and pranks. He delighted in cooking and grilling for others. With such an outgoing and charismatic personality he never knew a stranger. He was clever, resourceful and adaptable. He considered his haggling and negotiation skills an art form. The most genuine and accepting person one had the pleasure of knowing. &nbsp;Dillon was a dreamer, full of ideas and possibilities.&nbsp;

Fondly known as “Uncle Pickle” by his nieces and nephews he would frequently entertain, play cards and board games. Dillon was adventurous and daring, usually the life of the party. &nbsp;He enjoyed spending his free time thrifting, reading scifi, playing video games and tending to his plants. &nbsp;He will be a reminder that there is light in dark times and laughter in difficult situations. We will miss him more than words can express.

Mr. McCarty has been cremated under the direction of Heaton~Bowman~Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel.&nbsp;

Cremation was Dillon’s last hope for a smoking hot body !

Deanna Marx, 77, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024.

&nbsp;She was born January 25, 1947, in St. Joseph to Lloyd and Esther (Inscho) Marx. She was a 1965 graduate of Bishop LeBlond High School.

&nbsp;After high school, she was an executive assistant at Texas Instruments for many years until her retirement.

&nbsp;Deanna was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and involved with the Altar Society. Her church family and Catholic faith were an important part of her life. Outside of her faith, she enjoyed traveling, flowers and being committed to her family.

&nbsp;She had a generous heart and supported numerous charities. Deanna will be remembered for her kind, gentle and loving personality. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

&nbsp;She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Duane Marx and Carlene Moran.

Carol was born December 30, 1939, in Louisville, Colorado, the daughter of the late James Kennith Young and Vinnie Rose (Kelsey) Young of Union Star, MO.

On December 27, 1963, she married the former John Richard Teter who passed October 26, 2005. They owned and operated Teter Clothing in Maysville, MO. They then moved to Independence, MO. where she worked at JC Penney until retiring, then worked at Turner Family Funeral Home in Maysville. She loved the Lord and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Maysville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Vinnie Young; husband, John; three brothers, Jerry Lee Young, John Dawson (JD) Young, Ron Young; sister, Darlene Shipley; grandparents, John and Edna Kelsey and Dawson and Cora Young.

Survivors include daughter, Pam Tharp and husband Kendall of Maysville; three sisters, Elizabeth (Randy) Garcia of Blue Springs, MO, Mary (Dewey) Ballard of St. Peters, Mo, Nancy (Gary) Deatherage of King City, MO; sister-in-law, Donna Young of Maryville, MO; brother-in-law, Hugh Wayne (Janie) Teter of Macon, MO; sister-in-law, Barbra (Sam) Saffell of Ottumwa, IA; sister-in-law, Nancy Teter of Macon, MO; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.

Donna Lynn Wilson, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on March 30, 2024, at the age of 88, in St. Joseph, Missouri. Donna dedicated 24 years of service in the Dietary Department at Mosaic Life Care before her retirement. Her professional contributions and the friendships she fostered there remained an important part of her story.&nbsp;She was also a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

Beyond her work, Donna's passions were rooted in the unconditional love she had for her family. She is survived by a loving family that includes her daughters, Pamela Million (Mike) and Susan Voss (Hank); grandchildren, John Voss (Jayme), Adrian Johnson (Thaylan), Michael Million, Bradley Million (Misty), and Blair Costello (Tyler); and great-grandchildren Mason Voss, Maddox Voss, Tristan Johnson, Tobias Johnson, Monica Million, Merideth Million, Lucy Costello, and Annie Costello. She also leaves behind siblings, Dorothy Oswald and Billy Pemberton.

Pamela Severns, 63, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024.&nbsp;

She was born March 23, 1961 in St. Joseph to Edward and Elsie (Kanatzer) Adams. After graduation from Lafayette High School, she worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant for several local nursing homes.

Pamela married Jeffrey Lee Severns on May 18, 1991. He survives of the home.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting, shopping, butterflies and gnomes. She also was a member of Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church.

Pamela had a heart as big as all outdoors. She would do anything for her family, who will greatly miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 34 years, Jeffrey; siblings, Rebecca Thackrey (Mike), Karen Redmond (Tony), and Michael Wood (Kay); several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, including Brayden and Landen Thompson, whom she helped raise.

Raymond Dean Parker was born on September 2, 1935 in Denver, Missouri to Wray and Mabel Parker and passed away on March 29, 2024. He was the youngest of 5 children, with Joy Hood of Gower and Glenn Parker of Colorado surviving. He is preceded in death by Gene Parker of Colorado and Robert Parker of Iowa.&nbsp;

He married Mildred Young on June 9, 1957. They had 5 children, Dan (Belinda), Kym (Jerry), Tom (Connie), Terri (Ronnie), and Steve (Kristen). They have 21 grandchildren, including their spouses. They also have 24 great-grandchildren and a few great-greats. His beloved dog, Bambi, also survives.

Raymond was a baseball coach for his son’s baseball teams. He would do anything for his children. He made sure they had cars when they could drive to school. He also knew how to maintain the cars. Even the Pacer one of them made the poor decision to buy. He worked on all of his cars up until his 80s.

Raymond was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. Millie would accompany him on his overnight hunting trips. He liked to plan family vacations at places where everyone could fish. Raymond loved having his family around him and he really loved having Sunday family dinners.

Raymond was a Moila Shriner and he belonged to the Zeredatha Charity Lodge, which he was a secretary for some time. He and Millie liked helping with the Missouri Special Olympics.

Raymond bowled on a league for years and he bowled a 300 game at Belt Bowl.

Raymond bought a fixer-up house and remodeled it himself into a very nice house that he loved. He worked on his house well into his 80s. He fell off of a ladder working on his house in 2020 when he was 84 and it changed his life forever. He had a craniotomy and was in a coma that the doctors thought he wouldn’t recover from. He came out of the coma and returned home. Sadly, his wife had health issues and had to go to a nursing home. He missed her very much and decided to join her in the nursing home. Millie passed in December 2021 and Ray missed her very much from that point on. He is with her now and both are surely very happy at last.

Naomi Ilene Allen was born on August 3, 1940 in Vanzant, Missouri to Charles B. and Dorothy I. (Saltenberger) Anno. On June 24, 1960, she married Kenneth John "Kenny" Allen, and they made their home in Oregon, Missouri.

Ilene worked as a CNA at the Oregon Care Center for many years. She also sold Avon products and ran a daycare out of her home. Ilene enjoyed singing, and was a member of the Sweet Adelines.

Kenny passed away in 2006. Ilene passed away on March 29, 2024 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Mo. at the age of 83. Also preceding her in death was her son, Kenneth Charles "Chuck" Allen, and daughter, Kristi L. Leach.

Survivors include her daughters, Debbie (Ed) Brown of St. Joseph, Mo. and Marisa (Ronny) Ray of Oregon; sister, Nina Campbell of Falls City, Nebraska; son-in-law, David Leach of Forest City, Mo.; grandchildren, Charli, Tykota, Austin, Aaron, Ryan and Chelsea; and great grandchildren, Meliah, Hunter, Caleb, and Gracie.

Timothy Patrick Roebling Junior left behind his earthly body and became perfectly free on March 28, 2024. Tim was the epitome of grace and forgiveness and was always thankful for any time someone would spend with him, no matter how short. 

With Tim, what you saw was what you got. He always had pure motives and intentions. For those who took the time to really talk to Tim, you would know he pondered things of great depth and spiritual wonderings. I have to believe God smiled at Timothy and even delighted in him. I believe Timothy was a young man after God’s own heart- always searching for the truth albeit imperfectly. Now Timothy rejoices because all of his questions have been answered. 

There was much he didn’t understand in the ways most people “understand” things but he had a way of sharing truths delivered in love. He accepted people as they were with no expectations. He saw things with a clarity not hindered by the world’s thoughts and opinions. Tim had a way of getting under your skin, but in the most endearing way possible. Like a lot of big brothers, one of his favorite pastimes was trying to push the buttons of his sisters and mom. He was fiercely loyal and protective of his family. When he was a kid, he attempted to dig a hole to hell armed with a plastic shovel to beat up the devil in order to protect his sisters in the ditch behind the house he and his family lived in. Tim’s determination in all he set his mind to do should be an inspiration to all. He fought for life and he fought to live the best life possible to him until the time God called him home.

 We will miss Tim’s obnoxious laugh, funny side comments, his smirk when he was proud of himself for stinking up a room- much to the dismay of everyone in the room- and even the way he pointed and laughed. His love for dogs, kids, books, history, the outdoors, fishing, cooking, auto mechanics and his family leave us with so many opportunities to see him in our daily lives, even though his physical body is no longer with us. Tim was a low key, casual guy who overall just loved spending time with his loved ones. No matter the occasion, whether it be working hard outside, sitting at the nail salon with his sister or Sunday Family Dinners, he was happy to be a part of it. Tim loved practical jokes, winning every single Monopoly Game (when dad wasn’t playing because dad is the ultimate winner) and was always taking care of his family in acts of service but also just trying to get us to laugh. Although we are indescribably sad, we strive to honor his life by remembering the good times and smiling through the tears. 

Tim was met in eternity by our childhood dogs, Boomer and Bryndle- who he loved and adored. Our sibling angel who we have never met earthside, Sarah. Paternal Great Grandparents Edward and Patricia, Grandfather John and Uncle Jimmy. Maternal Great Grandparents Robert “Bob” and Mary Rose and, Grandfather Gary Leas. Even though he never met or very briefly knew these people, they loved him for as long as they were with us earthside and before they knew of his existence. 

His memory and legacy are kept alive on earth by loving parents, Tim Sr and Becky, twin sister Mikayla and, younger sisters Jacki and Emma. Maternal grandmother Mary “Grandma Tiger”, Paternal Grandma Patty and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends. We love you, Bubba!

Lesta Daniels, 90, of St. Joseph, MO formerly of Easton, MO passed away March 31, 2024.

She was born on February 26, 1934 in Brookfield, MO. Lesta graduated from Easton High School.

On November 12, 1951 she was united in marriage to Don Daniels. After their marriage they lived in Easton where they made their home. Her husband, Don, preceded her in death on June 11, 1998.

Lesta was a beautician in her home for many years. She also worked at Seeburg Mufflers and Penney’s in St. Joseph, MO.

Lesta was an active member of Eastside Baptist Church in St. Joseph.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Donald Wayne Daniels; brother, Johnny Grubbs; sisters, Lena Mae Covey, Louise Remington, and Ila Hoke.

Lesta Daniels, 90, of St. Joseph, MO formerly of Easton, MO passed away March 31, 2024.She was born on February 26, 1934 in Brookfield, MO. Lesta graduated from Easton High School.On November 12, 1951 she was united in marriage to Don Daniels. After their marriage they lived in Easton where they made their home. Her husband, Don, preceded her in death on June 11, 1998.Lesta was a beautician in her home for many years. Thomas Lee Thesenvitz, age 70, of Atchison, KS, died March 23, 2024.

Tom was born April 29, 1953, in St. Paul, MN, the son of Donald Thesenvitz and Annalisa (Heckelman) Thesenvitz. He was employed throughout his life as a professional mover in the Minnesota area and then later in Leavenworth, KS, with Studdard Moving Company until his retirement.&nbsp;

Tom was a die-hard, true Minnesota Vikings Fan. He enjoyed watching TV, he had a dry wit to his personality and was almost impossible to beat at chess. He loved his red pickup truck, grilling and his smoker grill.

He is survived by and will be lovingly missed by his brother, Robert (Cindy) Thesenvitz, Chatfield, MN; his brother-in-law, John Swedberg, Atchison, KS; two nieces, Hope Gream, Atchison, KS, Shannon Gream, Rochester, MN; eight great nieces and nephews and four great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Bridget Swedberg.

Janice was the oldest of six kids, she was a very strong woman who valued family, music, reading, animals, and education. She was very proud of being a college graduate of Missouri Western College with a degree in Human Resources. She was a long time employee of Inter-Serve Calvin Center where she worked for many years in Human Resources.

Tom graduated from Benton High School in 1952. After graduation he joined the Air Force, and served four years as a radio operator with The Hurricane Hunter Division. He was discharged in 1956. Upon discharge he began an apprenticeship with the IBEW Local 545, which was completed in 1960. Tom worked for several electrical contractors until he began his own business, Lotz Electric, which was in business until 2003, when he retired due to health issues.

Tom will be re-united with his daughter, Debi (Bill), and will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Betty Lotz, sons, Kerry (Pam), Tommy (Debbie), and his daughters, Sheila (Harley), Kim (Mike). He will be greatly missed by nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

He stood ten feet tall and could fix anything before you could bat an eye. Tom enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine and his daily walks. He had a heart bigger than his body, and an ornery streak a mile wide. He loved playing marbles with Betty Jean, and he kept the best candy hidden in the little kettle by his chair. But, if you said please, he’d sneak you a piece. Sometimes it only cost a kiss on the cheek. He was stronger than an ox, tougher than nails, and he loved the hell out of our grandma. Especially kissing her on the forehead. We will always remember the exceptional way they loved each other. We will remember the strength it took to stay with us as long as you did, the resilience you showed to remember as much as you could, and the love that will last longer than a lifetime.

We might spill more cups now that you’re not around to scoot them back from the edge of the table, and, we may finally fall out of one of those chairs now that you’re not here to remind us that they tip, and to hold them steady until we’re safely sitting - but, the only thing better than having you as our dad and our grandpa, is having you as their hot doggie. We’re better people because you were ours.

Super heroes are supposed to live forever.

Thomas Roger Lotz 1934 - 2024

John Melvin Williams Sr. was born and raised in Saint Joseph, Missouri.

Attended Elementary, Middle, and High School in St. Joseph Missouri School District.

He graduated from Central High School in 1973, where he had acquired the nickname of John the Cat Williams, from his ability to play basketball, and was so fast on his feet.

Shortly after graduating, he moved to California and enrolled in El Cerritos Junior College where he attended college until he received an injury on court that ended his career in basketball.

John returned to St. Joseph in 1981, where he started working at Peach Tree Door in the Stockyards, for 10 years, until they went out of business. At which time he started work at Silgan Sheet Metals, in the stock yards for 20 years until his retirement.

Although John loved all sports, his favorite teams were The Lakers and Chiefs. John took golf lessons and played Tennis until he tore his Akelius tendon.

As a lifelong member of the St. Francis Baptist Temple, from the cradle to the grave, he was faithful. Contributing faithfully to the building fund for the building of the new church we are sitting in today, to the groundbreaking ceremony to start the construction of this building and to the burning of the church mortgage ceremony. John served many years as the church treasure, retiring as church treasure after starting cancer treatment. Still, he continued to serve in the men’s ministry called the No Credit Crew. He loved to work in the yard, keeping the landscaping and grass picture perfect. His favorite past time during his last days were watching sports and old cowboy movies.

Surviving the home: he leaves behind his wife of 36 years, Jacqueline (Jackie) Williams married Christmas Eve - December 24, 1988, in the old temple of the St. Francis Baptist Temple by Rev. Dr. W.A. Hedge. As stepfather, John raised Precious Love-Hayes (Larry) and LaVesca Love-Moore (Michael), whom as an adult he adopted. John and Jackie together had one son, John M. Williams, Jr.

Together they have seven grandchildren, from Oldest to Youngest: Kenneth Strader, Charles Strader, Brayden Moore, Jordan Williams, Nya Moore, Olivia Williams, Justice Williams. John accepted and loved the stepchildren and step grandchildren from Jackies first marriage of 10 years. John was preceded in death by his mother, Charmine Williams and father, Eugene Crowley., Two sisters, Paula Dial and Linda Williams.

Surviving Siblings are:&nbsp;Brothers - Richard Williams, Virgil Williams, Harold Williams.Sisters – Constance Thaxton, Nylanda (Doris) Davis (John Henry), Charlene Barnes (Wayne), Mildred (Millie) Hopkins (Henry-Butch).

Jeffery Allan Landrus, 56, Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

He was born on March 18, 1968 to Larraine (Butcher) and Fred Landrus in Saint Joseph, Missouri.

Jeffery married Stacey Bennett on December 12, 1988.

He had worked as a welder, mechanic and autobody specialist for over 10 years.

Jeffery enjoyed baseball, cars, tinkering in the garage, spending time with friends, family, and pets.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelsey Landrus; and his father, Fred Thomas Landrus.

Okal and Clara Evelyn Arnold were united in marriage December 24, 1955, at Winnwood Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri. To this union three sons were born.&nbsp;&nbsp;Okal faithfully served in the United States Army from 1953-1955 during Korea. After getting out of the Army, Okal began farming.&nbsp;&nbsp;He grew tobacco, row crops, and many kinds of livestock. He retired from the Missouri State Highway Department.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Frances Springs, Clarence Hunt, Jr., Virginia Lee Mulkey, Mary Ruth, Mildred Johnson; and daughter-in-law, Patti L. Hunt.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Clara; three sons, Arnold (fiancee, Lorraine Holt) Hunt, Brian (Linda) Hunt, Carl (Beverly Sue) Hunt; brother, Marlin Hunt; ten grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Okal Oneal Hunt 1930 - 2024

Nancy Miller, 64, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024.&nbsp;

She was born September 17, 1959 in Elmo, Kansas to Robert and Claudine (Darby) Cutberth

Nancy married Mark Montgomery Miller on May 25, 1986. He survives of the home.

She taught at Humboldt and Bessie Ellison elementary schools for many years. After retirement, she continued as a reading teacher at Lindbergh Elementary. Her colleagues and students were like family to her.&nbsp;

Nancy loved being at the Lake of the Ozarks, watching her children and grandchildren go swimming, tubing and water-skiing. She enjoyed going out with The Girls to visit wineries and Mexican restaurants. She also enjoyed crocheting hats, stuffed animals and other items for family, friends and others.

A loving wife, mother and Nana, Nancy had an incredibly strong faith in God, which shaped every facet of how she lived her life and was an inspiration to her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Cutberth.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Mark; her children, Blake Miller (McKayla) and Taylor Clinton (Beau); grandchildren, Rowan, Everett, Dane, and Remi June; her mother, Claudine Cutberth; and siblings, Cindy Mills (Mark), Jeff Cutberth (Dena), and Marcia Gordon (Jim).

Nancy Miller, 64, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024.&nbsp;She was born September 17, 1959 in Elmo, Kansas to Robert and Claudine (Darby) CutberthNancy married Mark Montgomery Miller on May 25, 1986. He survives of the home.She taught at Humboldt and Bessie Ellison elementary schools for many years. After retirement, she continued as a reading teacher at Lindbergh Elementary. Her colleagues and students were like family to her.&nbsp;Nancy loved being at the Lake of the Ozarks, watching her children and grandchildren go swimming, tubing and water-skiing. She enjoyed going out with The Girls to visit wineries and Mexican restaurants. She also enjoyed crocheting hats, stuffed animals and other items for family, friends and others.A loving wife, mother and Nana, Nancy had an incredibly strong faith in God, which shaped every facet of how she lived her life and was an inspiration to her family.She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Cutberth.Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Mark; her children, Blake Miller (McKayla) and Taylor Clinton (Beau); grandchildren, Rowan, Everett, Dane, and Remi June; her mother, Claudine Cutberth; and siblings, Cindy Mills (Mark), Jeff Cutberth (Dena), and Marcia Gordon (Jim).The family will gather with friends 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon Saturday, April 6, Meierhoffer Funeral Home &amp; Crematory. Nancy Miller 1959 - 2024

Roger H. Shepherd, 92, was reunited with Jesus and the love of his life Louanna on March 26, 2024 in St. Joseph. Born October 6, 1931, in St. Joseph, Roger was the son of the late Herman and May Shepherd.

A great athlete, Roger ran track in school and graduated from Lafayette High School in 1949. Shortly after graduation Roger found his love of the game of fast pitch softball. Teams he played with included: Woodson Chapel, The Goetz Juniors, RCA Team, St. Joe Booster’s (state champions in 1962), The Morris Plan (state champions in 1963) and Walnut Products which he played with until his retirement as a player in 1970. He once hit three home runs in one game of the state tournament. He was inducted into the Saint Joe Hall of Fame in 1992 as a player and official. He was also inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame for fast pitch softball in 1994. He played softball in 19 states, 7 regionals, one national tournament, and for the Army in Germany. During and after his playing days, Roger also officiated high school and small college softball and football. The Missouri State High School Activities Association honored him with special recognition for 25 years of officiating.&nbsp;

The game of softball also led him to his greatest love, Louanna Moore, who was a spectator at one of his games in Gower in 1954. Within weeks, Roger was headed to Army basic training at Ft. Lee with Louanna and they were married November 13, 1954 in Petersburg, Va. Soon after they shipped off to Germany for their first two years of marriage. Upon their return to St. Joseph in 1956, Roger joined the Missouri Air National Guard where he would serve until 1991. He retired from the Air Guard with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant after 40 years and five months of combined military service.

After his work retirement, Roger took up golf with the same passion he had for other sports. After Louanna’s death, Roger found refuge and friendship on the Duncan Hills golf course in Savannah. He made three holes-in-one, with his last one coming July 25, 2023 at the age of 91.

Roger was a longtime member of Brookdale Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include: three sons, Stephen Shepherd, and wife, Nancy; Mark Shepherd, and wife, Suzanne; and Brian Shepherd, and wife, Kerry; and daughter Karen Sybert and husband, Curtis; grandchildren, Matthew Shepherd; Jennifer Brown and husband, Aaron, Chelsea Rohr and husband Tyler; Natalie Wilhite; Ciara Beil and husband Andrew, Tiffany Arnold and husband Casey; Nick Wilhite; Nate Stapleton and wife Sarah; Casey Shepherd and Leo Shepherd; his great grandchildren: Averi, Maddie, Noah, Parker, Amelia, Mack, Oliver, Bode and Charlotte, numerous nieces and special friends Jerry Acord, Esther Correll, Lloyd Duke and Connie Fankhauser.

He was predeceased by his wife Louanna (Moore) in 2007; brother Glenn Shepherd (Kate); sisters-in-law, Helen Kieser (Leonard) and Betty Albee (Dave).
