Betty Gibson Means, 83, of St. Joseph, MO, passed away November 14, 2025. She was born July 2, 1942, in Bedford, Iowa.
Betty was 1960 graduate of Lafayette High School. She enjoyed spending time with her Lafayette Shamrock Sisters.
She married Lawrence "Larry" Means on March 2, 1962, and he survives. Also surviving are children, Holly Hoppe (Craig), Bradley Means (Becky); grandchildren Blake Hoppe (Megan), Dylan Hoppe (Brianna) Colin Means, Kendall Means; and great-grandchildren Rowan Hoppe and Brecken Hoppe.
She was preceded in death by her mother Alice Gibson Woda and sister Patricia Clinton.
Betty loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed knitting, good wine, and Barbosas lunches with her best friend.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Pony Express Council of Scouting America.
Betty has been cremated under the care of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. No services will be held.
