Nancy J. Bromley, 86, passed peacefully June 19th in her home. Nancy was a lifelong resident of St Joseph.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Della and Floyd McKinney, sister Patty Cannon, brothers John McKinney, Donald McKinney and granddaughter Lauren Gardner.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Everett Bromley Sr., St Joseph, MO, four daughters, Vicki Lagle (Scott) Waconia, MN, Karen Corne (James) St Charles, MO, Lee Robertson, Kansas City, MO, Angela Bromley, St Joseph, MO; one step-son, Everett Bromley Jr., Kansas City, MO; sister, Alice Bruntmyer, Mound City, MO; brother, Gerald McKinney, Las Vegas, NV; 7 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

As per her wishes, Nancy will be cremated with a private ceremony with her immediate family.

Francis E. “Smitty” Schmidt, 86, of Winchester, KS passed away at his home on Monday, June 19, 2023, surrounded by his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the Corpus Christi Church, Mooney Creek with Fr. Bill William as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Corpus Christ Cemetery. After he graduated from 8th grade he came to Mooney Creek and lived with his aunt &amp; uncle while he attended high school. He graduated from Maur-Hill Prep in 1954. While he was in high school, he joined the Kansas Army National Guard and served in the reserves for nine years. After graduation from high school, he helped his uncle on the farm. Later he went to work for the Leavenworth Steel CO. and then the Don Grandon Steel Co. In 1970, Francis started his own Backhoe Business. He did all kinds of construction work and decided to branch off into laying field tile in 1974. The field tile would drain wet spots in the field and drain the waterways so they could be mowed. This helped farmers to farm most of their ground and raise better crops. Later Smitty started putting in terrace tile outlet systems, this took care the place of waterways and let the farmer have more of his field to farm. Smitty loved visiting and talking to friends and customers. He also opened and closed graves for several area cemeteries. He was a member of the Corpus Christi Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Eagles in Leavenworth KS. HE enjoyed going out on Saturday evenings dancing. Smitty enjoyed watching his sons and grandsons working and building their business. He was married to Eulaine Noll on June 17, 1958, being married for 65 years this month. She survives of the home. Addition survivors include his children; Alvin (Deanna) Schmidt, Nortonville, KS, Glen (Susan) Schmidt, Atchison, KS, Larry (Dianna) Schmidt, Easton, KS, Terry (Rebecca) Schmidt, Nortonville, KS, a sister Carol Ann Vaughan, Tonganoxie, KS, ten grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Joseph Laurence Gray, age 100, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2023.

Joe was the second oldest of six children, born on August 27, 1922 to Joseph Herman Gray and Laura Ellen (Gallagher) Gray at Sister’s Hospital in St. Joseph, Missouri. He married Anne Mason Reed, his wife of 66 years, on April 12, 1947.

Together Joe and Anne had eight children: Susan Mastio (Richard) of Carmel California, Reed Gray of Eugene, Oregon, JoAnne Grey (Martin) of St. Joseph, Laura Dunn (R.G.) of Liberty, Missouri, Paul Gray of Lorida, Florida, Mark Gray (Cathy) of Blue Eye, Missouri, Matthew Gray of Columbia, Missouri, and Peter Gray (Staci) of St. Joseph. They were also blessed with 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife Anne in 2014, his son Mark, his parents, siblings Paul, Jerry (Ruth), Patricia, and Mary Agnes McGann, and his daughter-in-law Laurie Gray. He is survived by his remaining seven children, and his sister Virginia Grimm (Lou) of Saint Louis, MO.

Joe attended Christian Brothers High School. He worked his way through college and graduated from the first aeronautical engineering class at University of Kansas in 1944. Joining the United States Navy he was sent to Johns Hopkins University for his Masters work in Engineering. Following this Joe went to work for General Toftoy at the Bureau of Ordinance in Annapolis, Maryland. While in the navy, he was assigned to the development of rockets and air-breathing jet propulsion guided missiles in the Mojave desert. He was always tickled that he served in the navy but was never on a ship, in fact he was in the desert most of the time. He thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of his work, having worked alongside the likes of Werner von Braun.

Though he loved the science of rocket propulsion, the implications of war time use made Joe consider returning to Missouri. So in 1952 Joe decided to come back to St. Joseph and join his father in business. His Dad had been a tire dealer for many years and was a mechanically inclined tinkerer with several patents to his name. He realized that there was no good way to lift a vehicle for tire service and he had some good ideas and concepts he had developed. His Dad realized that he needed some help and some engineering expertise to see his vision move forward. Together, Joe and his father designed the BF-100, a pneumatic bumper jack. This was the beginning of Gray Manufacturing Co. Inc., which was incorporated on April 15, 1952. For the next 70 years Joe led and grew a family business that he was always proud of and truly considered to be his family. Even in his final years Joe tried to walk the shop and office floors and talk to every person he could each and every day, telling them what a good job they were doing and always emphasizing the all-important job of taking care of the customer. Gray Manufacturing continues today under fourth generation family leadership and employment. Today Gray has more than 150 products, 250 plus team members, and sells products all over the world.

In 1974 Joe had the opportunity to make a small acquisition of a machine shop in Emporia, Kansas. This was done simply to preserve a critical part of Gray’s supply chain, as its owners were retiring. This ultimately led to the development of a new start up product line in 1986, under the leadership of Roger Craft, of clamping devices that are used in the automotive and aerospace industries. This new venture became a separate company named Vektek, Inc. Like Gray Manufacturing, Vektek quickly became an industry leader.

Joe’s curious mind was always racing with better ways to make, do, and design things. His ideas were not limited to lifts, jacks, and clamps. A couple of “crazy” ideas (as he called them) he had included a faster way to grow catfish for commercial sales, and a pothole filling machine that would take the place of several machines that road crews used at the time. His frustration he experienced when he used products that he did not like led to one of his many humorous sayings, “the engineer that designed this should be shot”.

Joe had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel. When his children were younger there were many family trips to Lake of the Ozarks, and some to Colorado and Padre Island and numerous national parks. As he grew older both he and Anne traveled many of the United States waterways in their boat, the Venture. They also chose some unique destinations centered around eco and adventure tours to include the Galapagos Islands, Antarctica, Eastern Siberia and the Danube River.

Joe also had many hobbies and interests over his lifetime. He had a voracious appetite for reading, often reading four or five books at a time. He loved hunting and fishing with his friends, and later sharing that love with his sons. He enjoyed classical music. And he played handball for many years, playing with a foursome of friends that eventually totaled over 300 years in age combined.

Over the last 30 years of his life Joe began collecting artwork that was displayed throughout the offices in his companies making it a very warm and unique setting for a manufacturing facility. His primary focus was Native American art and history. His collection inspired numerous public exhibits to support many causes and to simply share his unique collection with the local community.

Joe believed that it was important to serve and give back to the community in which he lived and his business operated. He was Chairman of the St. Joseph Area Chamber of Commerce in 1971 and led the 1972 City Annexation Drive. He also served as County Judge in 1992. Some of the organizations that he supported and served over the years include the Symphony Board, the Allied Arts, the Social Welfare Board, the United Way, the Cancer Society, the Food Kitchen, the YMCA, the St. Joseph Boat and Yacht Club, Audubon Society, Missouri Western State University, Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge, the American Guild of Organists, the Community Chorus, The St. Joseph Museums, The Patee House Museum, Robidoux Row, The Military Museum and nearly every arts and museum organization in St. Joe. In 2010, Joe won the Missouri State Philanthropy award in the arts. He supported the Jazz Society, the Performing Arts and annually sponsored the Allied Arts Sculpture projects.

Joe attended First Presbyterian Church in St. Joseph and was an active member in the choir for many years. He and his wife valued education and sponsored numerous MWSU students with scholarships and financial support. He was a strong supporter of Missouri Western State University and received an Honorary Degree in Humane Letters in December 2011.

Joe will be missed by so many. Family, friends, his large extended family at Gray Manufacturing and the entire St. Joseph community.

He was grateful for his blessings, celebrated life and love and often commented on the joy he had in living.

The Gray family would like to thank Judy Ryan for her many years as Joe’s friend, “lunch buddy”, vacation planner, runner of errands and official Gray Executive Assistant. Joe often referred to her as his “other daughter at work”. Special thanks to Martha Long Steins. Joseph Laurence Gray 1922 - 2023

John M. Rice, a lifelong resident of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on June 17, 2023, at the age of 63. Born on November 2, 1959, in St. Joseph, John was a beloved father and grandfather.

John dedicated 24 years of his life to working as a pressman at Tilco Printing Inc. He enjoyed his current job at the Haven House, where he was known for his kindness and friendly demeanor. An avid baseball fan, John shared his love for the sport through managing and coaching the Tilco Tornadoes for several years.

John enjoyed landscaping, fishing, working in the garage and spending time with his grandchildren.

John will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His memory will live on through the lives of his children and grandchildren, who will continue to cherish the time they spent with him.

John was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dolores (Hofmann) Rice.

He is survived by his children, Brandon Rice (Courtney), Jeron VanHoutan (R.W.), Jonathan Rice, Lauren Rice (Grant), and Lindsey Rice; former wife and mother of their children, Lisa Rice; grandchildren, Jerzie, Kylen, Silus, Bodhi, Sunni, and Riot; his sister and best friend, Sandi McCloud, and two other siblings, Linn and Andrew; beloved dog, Kato Rice; multiple nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He enjoyed his current job at the Haven House, where he was known for his kindness and friendly demeanor. An avid baseball fan, John shared his love for the sport through managing and coaching the Tilco Tornadoes for several years.John enjoyed landscaping, fishing, working in the garage and spending time with his grandchildren.John will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Kylee Eugene Dixon, 33, of Horton, Kansas chose to be with his Lord and Savior on June 16, 2023.

Kylee was a member of the First Baptist Church in Horton, Kansas. Kylee was born on April 7, 1990, in Topeka, Kansas to Danny Dixon and Pamela (Mayfield) Strecker. &nbsp;

Kylee graduated from Stanberry High School in Stanberry, Missouri in December of 2008. He Joined the Navy before his high school graduation and was quickly shipped to basic training in Chicago, Illinois. From Chicago he went to the Navy’s “A school” in Pensacola, Florida where he graduated with honors as a Cryptology Maintenance Technician in 2009. &nbsp;After completing “A School” he went to Norfolk, Virginia where he completed “C School” with honors in Ancillary Systems in 2011. Kylee attended Strayer University and received a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Concentration in Homeland Security, also in 2011, with a 4.0 GPA. Kylee then boarded the USS Nimitz in Everett, Washington, as an Information Dominance Warfare Specialist.

Kylee was proud to be able serve his Country and was discharged from the United States Navy October 5, 2012, with the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. Kylee was currently receiving 100 percent service-connected disability from the Veterans’ Administration. Kylee didn’t know a stranger, if you needed help, he was always there putting others before himself.

Survivors of Kylee Eugene Dixon are his fiancé Azaria Richey, his children: Blake, Paisley, and Zaley. His mother Pamela (Shawn) Strecker, his bonus mother Georganne Dixon, a sister Brandi Carlson, a bonus Sister Shawna Strecker. His maternal grandmother Connie (Kirk) Gries.

Kylee was preceded in death by his father Danny Dixon and his maternal grandfather Gene Mayfield.

Kylee’s ashes will be buried at the VA National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas at a date yet to be determined.

Ralph Edward Vossler passed away on June 16, 2023 following a brief illness at St. Luke’s North in Kansas City, Missouri surrounded by family. He received the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick before his death. He was born March 19, 1938 in Glasgow, Missouri the first child of four from Harry and Agnes (Westhues) Vossler. 

He attended school there and graduated from Glasgow High School. Following high school, he pursued his education in aviation mechanics and graduated with a certificate. He immediately went to work for TWA in Kansas City, Missouri in 1956 until retiring in May of 2010. He married Mary Catherine Suttner on May 27, 1967 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Glasgow, Missouri. Their family was raised in Kansas City until their move to Weston Missouri in 1978.

Ralph was a devoted husband to Mary Kay and father to their two sons; Chris and Daniel. Mary Kay Vossler passed away on February 11, 2018 in North Kansas City, Missouri. 

Ralph is survived by his two sons, Chris Joseph Vossler of Weston, Mo and Daniel Jude Vossler with wife Jamie (Banks) Vossler also of Weston, Missouri. He is also survived by his brother Myrl Vossler and wife Becky Vossler of North Carolina and brother Paul Vossler and wife Barbara Vossler of Glasgow, Missouri. Ralph will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Agnes Vossler along with sister Janice Thompson of Glasgow, Missouri. Ralph was very proud of his 54 year career at TWA/American Airlines. 

He received the prestigious Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award on May 24, 2007. It can be viewed at the downtown airport TWA museum in KCMO. Ralph was a devout Catholic attending Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Weston, Missouri all his life. He was actively involved in church life. His hobbies included tinkering in the garage, tending a garden, watching John Wayne movies but most importantly spending time with family. 

Praying of the rosary will be offered at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Weston, Missouri at 407 Cherry Street on Sunday May 25th, 2023 at 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm. The visitation service is from 1-3 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Weston, Missouri on Monday June 26, 2023 with a graveside service immediately following at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery off County Road P. A church luncheon will be provided back at the parish hall at Holy Trinity in Weston.

Kenneth was born on August 14, 1929, in Seneca, Kansas to Charles and Georgia (Shaeffer) Stewart.

He served in the U.S. Army during Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Wathena United Methodist Church and a 70-year member of the Local Union #579, St, Joseph, Missouri and the American Legion Post #161 and VFW Post #5531 of Wathena, Kansas.

Kenneth married Patricia Ebelmesser on March 14, 1953, in Topeka, Kansas. She survives of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Additional survivors include sons, David C. Stewart (Dina) and James M. “Mike” Stewart both of Wathena, Kansas. Brenda G. Wagner, Kansas City, Missouri. He enjoyed reading, playing cards, camping, welding and worked on several creative metal projects and building four homes. He especially enjoyed his family, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was married to Jolene S. Pinder on May 26, 1957, in Effingham, KS. Jolene survives in their home. Additional survivors include two daughters Chaunzey E. Tenbrink, Berryton, KS, and Peggy (Mark) Kistler, Atchison, KS, a sister Marjorie Bruhn, Laguna Woods, CA, four grandchildren Tony (Theresa) Tenbrink and Drew (Kiley) Tenbrink, and Katie and Carrie Kistler, and several great grandchildren. His parents, sister and brother-in-law Betty L and Roy Bahnson, brother-in-law Walter Bruhn and Son-in-law, Steven Tenbrink preceded him in death. Alice Ann Morgan passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023, in her home in Savannah MO, surrounded by family and friends. Alice was born to Horace and Jenny Perry on January 12, 1936 in Andrew County, MO. She moved to Denver Colorado and married Charles Perry Morgan on August 29, 1957.

Alice spent the early years in Denver as a devoted wife and mother, raising three children and fostering countless others. She was involved in church, boy scouts and campfire girls, home room mom, Sunday school teacher and eventually a grandmother and Great Grandmother. In 1989 Charles retired, and they were able to fulfill their dream to travel. A few years ago she traveled to Antarctica, completing her wish to “walk on every continent.” They remained full-time RVer’s for many years, traveling throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico. They eventually moved to Savannah, and continued traveling, often working as campground hosts and volunteering along the way.

Survivors include her husband Charles Morgan, Children Rebecca and Perry, Grandchildren Halley, Kaleb, Ariel, Brandon and Chloe, Great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Joy Morgan Wardlow and sister Marth Burks. In leu of flowers, donations can be made to the Savannah Senior Center in her name. &nbsp;

Robert Nickels, 84, of Rosendale passed away Sunday, June 11th, 2023 in St. Joseph. He was born February 7th, 1939 to Curtis &amp; Ida (Davison) Nickels. He married Margaret Ann "Maggie" Nickels and she preceded him in death in 2016. &nbsp;

Bob was a lifelong resident of Rosendale, Missouri. He spent his early career as an over-the-road truck driver and then worked for many years on a farm. He continued working in retirement and liked to stay busy and have things to do. He was loved and respected by his close-knit group of friends that he considered his family. &nbsp;

Graveside inurnment will be 10:00am, Saturday, July 8th, 2023 at Bennett Lane Cemetery north of Savannah, MO. Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah, MO is in charge of local arrangements.

Robert Nickels 1939 - 2023

Tom Pankiewicz, 75, of St. Joseph, MO passed away peacefully on June 17, 2023 at his home with his wife by his side.&nbsp;

Tom was born on October 8, 1947 to Francis and Josephine (Klein) Pankiewicz. He attended St. Peter and Paul grade school where he was also an active server at the church. He went on to attend and graduate from Christian Brothers High School. After high school, Tom attended St. Joseph Junior College and later graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a teaching degree in English.&nbsp;

Tom’s teaching career began at Bishop O’Hara High School in Kansas City, MO. At this time he began working towards his masters degree in English Education at UMKC. He returned to St. Joseph and began teaching English at Benton High School.&nbsp;

During his time at Benton, Tom taught hundreds of students, coached cross country, and most importantly, met the love of his life, a fellow teacher just down the hall, Cathy Gallagher.&nbsp;

Tom and Cathy’s whirlwind courtship took them on a Northwest Alumni trip to Switzerland in 1976. On Chapel Bridge over the River Reuss, Tom proposed. One year later on June 11, 1977, Tom and Cathy married at the Co-Cathedral in St. Joseph. Soon after, they became active members in what would become their permanent parish home, St. Francis Xavier. There Tom served as a lector, parish council member and president, and was one of the first covenanted members of the Companions of the Precious Blood.&nbsp;

Tom and Cathy were blessed with 5 children: Julia (1978), James (1980), Mary (1985), Melanie (1989), and Christopher (1991). Their home was not only full of children. Tom’s kind and gentle heart could never say no to the endless stream of needy creatures he and Cathy would bring home.&nbsp;

After spending 30+ years at Benton, Tom retired and moved to Missouri Western State University where he continued to teach English for the next decade.&nbsp;

One of Tom’s many passions was traveling. According to one of Tom’s many journal entries, his idea of happiness was being lost in Europe on a cobblestone street with his wife. Over the years their travels took them to numerous countries across Europe.&nbsp;

Tom was an avid reader, writer, and scholar. He surrounded himself in his home with books, journals, and items that held memories close to his heart. Tom enjoyed walking down Ashland pondering the day’s questions- both big and small.&nbsp;

Tom’s other big passion was the Prairie Lands Writing Project. He was a mentor to writing teachers all over the region. Throughout his years, he inspired educators by transforming their teaching and encouraging a new approach to creative writing in the classroom. His love of writing was contagious.&nbsp;

His retirement brought him the joy of grandchildren and allowed him the time to serve others through the Open Door Food Kitchen and the House of Bread.&nbsp;

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Josephine, as well as twin brothers, John and Joseph.&nbsp;

Tom is survived by his wife, Cathy, his children, Julia (Emma), James, Mary (Ryan), Melanie (Kyle), Christopher (Kelsey), his siblings, Margaret (Robert), Michael (Teresa), Theodore, and Marilyn, and his grandchildren, Savannah, Sofia, Felix, Patrick, and Louisa.&nbsp;

A visitation will be held Thursday, June 22, 2023 at St. Francis Xavier Church. A rosary will be said at 5:30 with a visitation to follow from 6:00-8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Xavier is scheduled for Friday, June 23, 2023 at 10:00 am.&nbsp;

Michael Curtis Moore died June 16, 2023 peacefully at home in St Joseph, MO, surrounded by family.

Born September 23, 1946 in Newbourne North Carolina, Raised in Savannah MO, Graduated from Savannah R-3.

Married Joan Kempa in 1965, had 3 children during that marriage, Rhonda, Steve, and Jeff. They later divorced, April 1, 1984. Mike met his best friend and Soulmate Tanya, and they married June 15, 1996. They were blessed with 39 years together, married for 27 of those years.

Mike worked for Volkswagen, Polskys, and the Saint Joseph Police Department for 41 years, starting off as a patrolman and then working his way to Detective and then retiring as a Municipal Court Bailiff for Judge Boeh.

Mike enjoyed camping, fishing, taking vacations, waxing his cars, sitting on the porch with his dog (favorite child)

Delilah, and watching the birds and squirrels, spending time with his family and friends, watching the Chiefs play with Tanya and friends, going to Rosecrans to help Ralph work on airplanes, hoping to obtain his pilot’s license one day, going to airshows with his grandson Aaron, playing Keno at the casino with Tanya, and going to the dirt track to watch the races.

Mike could sit and watch westerns all day long, especially anything with John Wayne. Mike was a big jokester who loved to laugh and make others laugh. Mike loved to tinker in his garage and could work on almost everything. He really was a jack of all trades.

Preceded: both parents, Robert and Dorothy, an infant brother; nephew, Ryan Newcomer and a granddaughter, Michaela Moore

Survivors: wife; siblings Steve (Rita,) Moore, Doug (Verena) Moore, Toni Newcomer.

Jerry D. Hall, “J.D.”, 68, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away surrounded by family on Friday, June 16, 2023, at a nursing facility.

He was born February 9, 1957 to Howard H. “Jimmy” and Florine Hall in Fairfax, Missouri.

J.D. attended Fairfax Schools and graduated in 1975. He adored his classmates and enjoyed visiting with them every year when he attended the Fairfax Fair.

He joined the United States Army in 1984 and served as a Military Police Officer for four years. He received the Army Commendation Metal along with other accolades and retired as a Corporal.

After leaving the military, J.D. began a long career as a truck driver. He worked for 3D Trucking for the last two decades and became close friends with the owners, whom were like family to him.

He married Janet (McIntosh) Enriquez in 1979. The couple later divorced but maintained a great friendship throughout their lives.

J.D. was an avid collector. He loved his watches, knives, guns and CB radios. He could always be seen adorning gold necklaces, a spectacular watch and a ring on each finger.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially for dinners and movie nights.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Florine, and a brother, Durall Hall.

Survivors include his children, Jennifer Milbourne (Bob) of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Jared Hall of Oceanside, California; grandchildren, Ashton Stephenson, Payton Hall, and Hawke Milbourne; brothers, Dwayne Hall (Connie) of Altus, Oklahoma, and Leland Hall (Andrea)of Rolla, Missouri; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Westboro, Missouri. A celebration of life and fellowship will be held after the funeral at the United Methodist Church in Fairfax.

Hubert E. Luke, 90, of Stanberry, MO passed away Friday, June 16, 2023 at an Albany, MO hospital.

He was born on June 19, 1932, on the family farm in Clyde, Missouri the son of Alphonse G. and Regina C. (Untiedt) Luke.

On June 25, 1955, he married Beatrice Schwebach at the Immaculate Conception Basilica, Conception, MO. She survives of the home.

Hubert served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Raymond Sager Post #260 of Stanberry, MO. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Stanberry #4388 and St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Stanberry. He served on the MFA Board and the Stanberry RII School Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Stephen Luke; brothers, Roger and Arthur Luke and great granddaughters, Josephine and Kayli Luke

Thomas Vaughn George, 46, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023, comfortably in his home with his wife Amanda by his side.

He was born January 8, 1977 in St. Joseph to Curtis and Kathleen (Turner) George.

Thomas served in the U.S. Army as a Communications Specialist at Fort Stewart, Georgia. He later was a mechanic for Clarios.

His favorite things in life were riding motorcycles, spending time with family and friends drinking beer by the fire, and the 4th of July was by far his favorite holiday.

He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis; and son, Matthew George.

Survivors include his wife, Amanda; children, Nichole Anderson and Michael George; five stepchildren; two grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; mother, Kathleen George; brother, William Louis George; numerous other extended family members and friends.

Christoffer Issac Galey, 33, passed away June 10, 2023, in Desoto, KS.

Chris was born April 13, 1990 in Leavenworth, KS to Penny (Vandruff-Galey) Wagner and Eugene Galey. He was a truck driver and tech. He loved his cars and motorcycles, spending time with his daughter and nephew, hanging out with family and friends and helping those in need.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jackie and Juanita Vandruff, Sr, his paternal grandparents, Charles Galey, and Josophine Kern, Melvin and Virginia Wagner and his sister-in-law, Poly Galey-Henry. 

He is survived by his daughter Alexia Galey (Independence, Ks), parents Bruce and Penny Wagner (Bonner Springs, KS), Eugene Galey (Parsons, TN), his siblings William Galey (Caney, KS), Melissa Kelly (Raymore, Mo), Michael Wagner (Warrensburg, Mo), and 8 nephews.

&nbsp;There will be a Celebration of Life July 13, 2023 at Wyandotte County Park, Shelter House D at 5:30 pm.

Christoffer Issac Galey, 33, passed away June 10, 2023, in Desoto, KS.Chris was born April 13, 1990 in Leavenworth, KS to Penny (Vandruff-Galey) Wagner and Eugene Galey. He was a truck driver and tech. Ernest Davis, 72, Savannah, Missouri, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023.

He was born January 4, 1951, in Troy, Kansas.

He was a member of the United States Army, and an employee of Wilbert Vault for 35 years.

Ernest enjoyed going fishing, working on cars and racing.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie E. Davis, and son, Jamie Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia “Jeanie” Davis, daughter, Shannin G. Hudson (Tommy); brother, Bob Davis; grandchildren, Dalen, Bayden, Fabian and Saben Hudson; and great-granddaughter, Leia Hudson. Ernie had 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and two sisters, Betty and Patsy.
