Ralph Edward Vossler passed away on June 16, 2023 following a brief illness at St. Luke’s North in Kansas City, Missouri surrounded by family. He received the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick before his death. He was born March 19, 1938 in Glasgow, Missouri the first child of four from Harry and Agnes (Westhues) Vossler.
He attended school there and graduated from Glasgow High School. Following high school, he pursued his education in aviation mechanics and graduated with a certificate. He immediately went to work for TWA in Kansas City, Missouri in 1956 until retiring in May of 2010. He married Mary Catherine Suttner on May 27, 1967 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Glasgow, Missouri. Their family was raised in Kansas City until their move to Weston Missouri in 1978.
Ralph was a devoted husband to Mary Kay and father to their two sons; Chris and Daniel. Mary Kay Vossler passed away on February 11, 2018 in North Kansas City, Missouri.
Ralph is survived by his two sons, Chris Joseph Vossler of Weston, Mo and Daniel Jude Vossler with wife Jamie (Banks) Vossler also of Weston, Missouri. He is also survived by his brother Myrl Vossler and wife Becky Vossler of North Carolina and brother Paul Vossler and wife Barbara Vossler of Glasgow, Missouri. Ralph will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Agnes Vossler along with sister Janice Thompson of Glasgow, Missouri. Ralph was very proud of his 54 year career at TWA/American Airlines.
He received the prestigious Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award on May 24, 2007. It can be viewed at the downtown airport TWA museum in KCMO. Ralph was a devout Catholic attending Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Weston, Missouri all his life. He was actively involved in church life. His hobbies included tinkering in the garage, tending a garden, watching John Wayne movies but most importantly spending time with family.
Praying of the rosary will be offered at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Weston, Missouri at 407 Cherry Street on Sunday May 25th, 2023 at 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm. The visitation service is from 1-3 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Weston, Missouri on Monday June 26, 2023 with a graveside service immediately following at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery off County Road P. A church luncheon will be provided back at the parish hall at Holy Trinity in Weston.
