John Joseph Bucher, 89, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024.&nbsp;

He was born on July 18, 1934, to Francis X. and Nellie Bucher in St. Joseph, Missouri.

On July 12, 1952, he married Wilma B. Key, and together they shared nearly 62 years together before her passing in 2014.&nbsp;

John had a strong work ethic that started at the young age of thirteen. He worked for Ace Scale Company for several years.&nbsp;

In his younger years, John loved to go bowling and tinkering with old cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, and his brother, Francis Xavier Bucher Jr (Judy).

Survivors include his sons, John “Mike” Bucher (Reta) and Floyd “Dan” Bucher (Pam); five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley Evelyn (Blanton) Colburn, 85, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024.

She was born on December 8, 1938, to Donald Allen and Grace Louise (Mooney) Blanton in Sparks, Kansas.

She was a devoted homemaker for her three children, providing a nurturing environment as they grew up. As the years went on, she took charge as a full-time hardworking employee and mother. She worked numerous jobs throughout the years, dedicating the same care and work ethic to each one.

Shirley enjoyed being outdoors and different outdoor activities, including camping. She had a love for collecting different trinkets.

She was a happy-go-lucky spirit with a positive outlook on life and saw good in every person and every situation. Her vivid spirit will be missed and continue on in the hearts of her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, JoAnna Louise (Blanton) Link and Donna Lee (Blanton) Wiley.

Survivors include her sister, Eva May (Blanton) Stahl; children, Linda Russell, Daniel Colburn, and Donald Colburn; four grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one niece and nine nephews.

Darlene Sue Ware-Brant, 73, of Maryville, MO, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Village Care, Maryville with her daughter, Linda by her side. Darlene was born August 3, 1950, to Elvin Clutch and Mary Ellen Shelton-Ware (both deceased) of Arkoe, MO. Darlene is also preceded in death by two sisters Donna Esther Ware-Black, Mary Elizabeth Ware and one brother Isaac "Ikey" Clutch Ware.

Those left to mourn Darlene's passing is her daughter Linda Sue Brant, Maryville MO. Four brothers: Franklin, Junior, David, and Mike and two sisters: Phyllis and Rita, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins as well as in-laws.&nbsp;

Darlene was a graduate of Maryville High School. After graduation she became a homemaker and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her family and friends. She had a love of music and loved her grand-dog, Alliee. She had several health issues and resided at Village Care, Maryville. Daniel Joseph “Charlie” Pompa, Jr., 52, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024.&nbsp;

He was born February 26, 1972 in Los Angeles, California to Daniel J. Pompa, Sr. and Billie Pauline (Walden) Pompa. His family moved to St. Joseph when Pompa was 5 years old, where he later excelled in track at Benton High School.

Pompa liked working with his hands, taking his talent to Ventura Foods, Johnson Controls, Wheeler Construction, and then Vedco.

He loved to shoot pool at Bill’s Pub, play darts and Pitch, dancing, and hanging out at “Neighbors” (Joe Melton’s garage).

Pompa was full of life. He was a positive, proud South-Sider and Raiders fan who lived in the moment and encouraged others to follow his example.

He was a family man, a man of God, and a Mama’s Boy. His kids and grandkids meant everything to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Julie Pompa; former wife, Laneese Hale; and best friend, Jason King.

Survivors include son, Steven Hale and the mother of his children, Joyce Fanning; son, Payton Hale; grandchildren, Jayven, Jasiah and Jezney Hale; siblings, Angel Pompa (Ron Becerra) and Adeña Pompa; nieces and nephews, Curtisea Weston-Pompa (Demetre Tolbert), Sephra Pompa (Tyler Young), Rah-Vin Blanchard (Cody Pettijohn), Jourdan Pompa, Kobie Pompa (Derrick Babineaux), LeCee Bricker (Clay), and David Johnson (Kara); stepfather, Sidney Hawkins; Uncle Rudy Pompa; and other extended family members in California.

Lawrence James Woods, Jr., of Falls City, Nebraska, died Sunday evening, April 14, 2024 at Falls City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Falls City, at the age of 66.

Larry, as he was known by family and friends, was born August 26, 1957, in Puyallup, Washington, to Lawrence Sr., and Mary Ferne (Trapp) Woods. &nbsp;At a young age the family moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where Larry was raised and graduated high school. &nbsp; He worked for various construction companies around Lincoln before starting his lifelong career in communications in 1984, retiring in 2023.

Larry is survived by daughters: Amber Siebenmorgen (Dan), Ashley Woods; sisters: &nbsp;Natalie Stege (Albert), Diane Garcia (Rene), grandchildren: &nbsp;Dalton, Jaydee, Jerrick; nephews, nieces, and other extended family members..

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: &nbsp;Roddrick Woods, Michael Woods, Edward Florang, Vonnie Hageman, and Gay Dean Barber..

Chris Owens was called to his heavenly home on April 14, 2024. &nbsp;He was born to proud parents Kenneth and Linda Owens on October 21, 1962. &nbsp;Chris was a popular, outstanding athlete and graduate of Holt County R-II. &nbsp;He was a starter on the undefeated State Champion basketball team in 1981. &nbsp;He won many awards in basketball, track and football.

At age twenty Chris was rendered a quadriplegic as a result of a vehicle accident. &nbsp;His unbelievable acceptance of his handicap made him an inspiration to others. &nbsp;He continued with adaptations to do many of his favorite activities. &nbsp;Chris received his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Missouri Western State University and was employed with Heartland, now Mosaic, for 28 years retiring in May 2020.

Chris was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Alex and Leona Owens, maternal grandparents Elbert and Abigail Ingram, Grandad “Doc” Heine, fiancée Beverly Coburn, Uncle John Ingram, Aunt Beverly Diggs, cousins Shane Diggs and Cory Ingram.

Survivors include parents, special daughters, Kristina (Vince), Ashley (Austin), granddaughters Josie, Eloise, Maxie and Macie, brother Kevin (Joni), sister Kena Gail (Kirby), nephews Trevor (Haliey), Parker (Kassidy), Kyler, nieces Kristi (Justin), Alexandria (Bryan), Chasyn (Brett), Taylor (Joe), great niece Abigail, great nephew Colter, Aunts Gloria, Karen and Debbie, Uncle Butch, extended family members and numerous friends.

Chris was once asked what he would do first if his body was fully restored and no longer paralyzed. &nbsp;His reply, “That’s easy, I would run until I dropped!”&nbsp;

Ronald Jewel Bailey, 65, Stewartsville, Missouri, passed away at home on Friday, April 12, 2024. He was born on May 2, 1958 in Leavenworth Kansas to Marion Bailey and Betty Goodlett (Walter Trivett Jr), and raised by Margaret and Jasper Goodlett. He was married to Viola Henry on March 18, 1987, who survives of the home. Ronnie worked at Mead for 30 years. He worked at Sam’s Club for 19 years, and was looking forward to retiring in May. He enjoyed fishing, camping, mushroom hunting, collecting guns and shooting them with children and grandchildren, spending time with children and grandchildren, and watching John Wayne movies. He graduated from Benton High School in 1976, where he enjoyed wrestling and football. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and step father and two brothers, Jerald and Butch Bailey. 

Survivors include his wife, daughters Tabatha Bailey (Jackson), Misty Nichols (Brian), and son Don Henry (Shannon), 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Helen ‘Eileen’ Wohletz, 96, of Effingham, KS died on Monday, April 15, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am on Thursday, April 18th, 2024, at St. Ann’s Church with Fr. Hughes Sundeme as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Ann’s Cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024, at St Ann’s with visitation to follow until 8:30 pm. Eileen (Bunck) was born on August 5, 1927, the daughter of Henry and Helen (Ubelaker) Bunck of Everest, KS. She graduated from Everest High School in 1945, attended the University of Kansas, and graduated from Mt. St. Scholastica College with a bachelor’s degree in music. When Eileen began teaching it was for two years in rural Brown County which followed by two years of grade school in Effingham. She was married to Walt E. Wohletz on July 28, 1948. She continued teaching and he farmed; they were blessed with two boys, Gary and Dale.

Eileen taught music in Effingham at various levels until her retirement in 1994. During that time, she was most proud of her high school show choir, the Soundmasters, which she organized. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, where she played organ and directed choir for over 50 years.

Always active in the community, Eileen was a member of the Community Club, the Red Hats, St. Ann’s Altar Society, and the Bunco Club. She loved the local library and enjoyed lending her support to it.&nbsp;

Eileen is survived by her sons, Gary (Wendy) of Little River, KS, and Dale (Julie) of Natchitoches, LA; nine grandchildren, Carrie, Tony, Jason, Casey, Jessie, Taylor, Robert, Todd, and Adriana; and 25 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother John Bunck, grandson Travis Wohletz, and her husband of 65 years, Walt.E. Wohletz (Jan 16, 2014).

Helen ‘Eileen’ Wohletz, 96, of Effingham, KS died on Monday, April 15, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am on Thursday, April 18th, 2024, at St. Ann’s Church with Fr. Hughes Sundeme as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Ann’s Cemetery. When Eileen began teaching it was for two years in rural Brown County which followed by two years of grade school in Effingham. She was married to Walt E. Wohletz on July 28, 1948. She continued teaching and he farmed; they were blessed with two boys, Gary and Dale.Eileen taught music in Effingham at various levels until her retirement in 1994. During that time, she was most proud of her high school show choir, the Soundmasters, which she organized. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, where she played organ and directed choir for over 50 years.Always active in the community, Eileen was a member of the Community Club, the Red Hats, St. Ann’s Altar Society, and the Bunco Club. She loved the local library and enjoyed lending her support to it.&nbsp;Eileen is survived by her sons, Gary (Wendy) of Little River, KS, and Dale (Julie) of Natchitoches, LA; nine grandchildren, Carrie, Tony, Jason, Casey, Jessie, Taylor, Robert, Todd, and Adriana; and 25 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother John Bunck, grandson Travis Wohletz, and her husband of 65 years, Walt.E. Wohletz (Jan 16, 2014).<figure>

Louanne Furst, 94, Savannah, MO passed away Sunday, April 14th at Benedictine Living Community in St. Joseph, MO surrounded by family. She was born November 28, 1929 in Rosendale, MO to Harry and Mabel (Adkins) Rhoades.&nbsp;

Louanne graduated from Rosendale High School and Maryville Teacher’s College. She married Leonard Furst on December 26, 1948. Leonard was a farmer and Louanne was a farm wife. &nbsp;They moved from Cosby to Rosendale in 1954 where she taught 5th grade for one year. &nbsp;She was known for her cooking, gardening, and sewing skills. She and Leonard were avid square dancers. They enjoyed going on mission trips for the church and regular Colorado trips as well as other trips with family and friends. Louanne belonged to the Rosendale Christian Church where she was recognized for over fifty years as a Sunday School teacher, as well as serving in the Christian Women’s Fellowship there. She later attended the Savannah Christian Church. She was a lifetime member of the Rosendale Community Garden Club. Later in life she enjoyed reading, putting puzzles together, and eating lunch at the Savannah Senior Center with her friends at table ten.&nbsp;

Louanne is survived by a sister, Evelyn Furst - her three children - Jeannie (Bob) Barboza, Linda (Randy) Atkins, and Greg (Pat) Furst. She has six grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Louanne was preceded in death by her parents, an older sister, Edwina Gomel, and her husband, Leonard, in 2020. She will be remembered for her loving kindness, for being an encourager, and always looking on the bright side. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.&nbsp;

Melissa J. Grishow, 83, of Savannah, Mo passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024 at LaVerna Manor Health &amp; Rehabilitation in Savannah. &nbsp;She was born March 31, 1941 to John &amp; Edna (Smith) Hilsenbeck. &nbsp;

Melissa loved music, drawing, tending to her garden, and most of all spending time with her family. She worked as the bookkeeper for Rea Grain and Feed for 46 years until it’s closing in the summer of 2010. During that time, she also worked as the bookkeeper for Hannah Oil Company and Hannah Farms.

Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Dreher of Savannah; daughter-in-law, Cathy Grishow of Deepwater, Mo; nine grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren with two more on the way. &nbsp;She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard Grishow; brother, Charles Hilsenbeck; an infant sibling; and son-in-law Bobby Dreher.

Janice Gay Hiatt 82, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday April 11, 2024, at her home in St. Joseph, MO. She was born December 23, 1941, in Rushville, Missouri, the first daughter of the late Louise &amp; J.W Griffith. 

Janice graduated from DeKalb High School in 1959, and Draughon’s College of Commerce in Kansas City, Missouri in 1960. In 1961 she married David Hiatt and moved to St. Joseph, Mo. She worked steadily as a secretary with different companies including Ken Clark Grain Co. and Massey Ferguson. She then built a successful business as a Home Interior’s Gifts independent retailer, and helped decorate the homes of hundreds of women for more than 25 years, making lifelong friendships in the process. In her later years she put her considerable culinary skills to work in the bakery at Leupold’s Greenhouse, where she was affectionately known as the “Pielady”. She was a member of the Community Christian Church. Janice enjoyed decorating, baking, quilting, embroidery, canasta with family, poker with friends, and gardening. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, twin daughters, Denise and Dana, sister, Judy Eckelbarger, and son-in-law, Aaron Abel.

David Mearle Hiatt&nbsp;83, of St. Joseph, Missouri&nbsp;passed away Tuesday, &nbsp;February 27, 2024, in a St. Joseph, MO hospital after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born August 4, 1940, in DeKalb, Missouri, son of the late Rosie &amp; Haskell Hiatt. He graduated from DeKalb High School in 1958, and found steady factory work at Armour, Swift, and KW Dart. He retired from Snorkel, where he sustained a 30-year career as an assembler. 

David enjoyed the nostalgic memories of his father’s garage, and was an avid collector of petrobilia, amassing an impressive collection that he creatively displayed in his Southend backyard, creating a landmark that most people would recognize and appreciate. He also loved classic cars, NASCAR, country and bluegrass music, tinkering in his shop, and his wife’s cooking. He attended Community Christian Church with wife Janice. 

David was preceded in death by his parents, twin daughters, Denise &amp; Dana, son in law, Aaron Abel, and brothers, Hylan and Monte Hiatt, sister-in-law, Judy Eckelbarger, and brother-in-law, Billy Ray.&nbsp;

Janice and David leave behind son, Darron (Ronna) Hiatt, and daughter, Angela Abel, both of St. Joseph, MO, grandchildren: Danyale (Joel) Morlock, and Heather (Dustin) Adams, Dara (Cory) Shanks, great-grandchildren: Taylor (Lane) Newell, Dylan (Cambryn) McDowell, Jorgie Adams, Avery, and Milo Shanks: great great grandchildren: Trace, Lottan, Ryland, Hayden, and Holden. Janice is also survived by her sisters; Cheryl (Truman) Hiatt, Smithville, MO, and Connie (Bob) Wollenman of St. Joseph, MO, and David is survived by brother Truman (Cheryl) Hiatt, Smithville, MO, and sister, Rosalie Ray of Savannah, MO.

God delivered home this angel Rose Rosenauer on Friday, April 12, 2024, ushering her into Heaven accompanied by worship and praise songs of Our Lord Jesus. Rose ended a short journey of cancer, then shortly after with a stroke ending her life at Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph, MO.

 She was born August 18, 1953 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of the late Jo and Carl Rosenauer. Rose made this world a better place, greeting others with a sweet smile and having a kind attitude. She loved animals, enjoying all the family's pets. Rose was a loving sister, sister in law, aunt, and friend. 

She was preceded in making the journey home by her parents: Jo Jean (Pitts) and Carl G. Rosenauer, twin brother, Rodger, brothers, Greg and Robert Rosenauer, and great nephew, Hershel Dreier.

 Survivors include: sister, Roberta, and brother in law, John Dreier, nephews, Shelby (Jay) Dreier, and Colby Dreier and partner Thomas Beavers, nieces, Bobbie (Shane) Dennis, and Rebecca Dreier, step nephew, John (Karissa) Dreier Jr., great nephew, Billy Dreier, great niece, Isabella Dreier, and step great nephews, Kaden &amp; Karson Dreier.

Terry Lynn Gromowski 1968 - 2024

Margaret "Leann" Goth, 61, of Hiawatha, KS, passed away on April 12, 2024 with family by her side at her home. &nbsp;She was born May 17, 1962, in Holton, KS to Albert Lee, Sr. and Betty Ann (Farley) Olds in Holton, KS. &nbsp;She was the oldest of six children.

Margaret attended Colorado and Central Elementary School, Holton, KS, and Jackson Heights, Holton, KS, and Royal Valley High School, Hoyt, KS, graduating early in December 1981.

Margaret joined the Kansas Army National Guard, and was attached to the 714th Maintenance Company in Topeka, KS. &nbsp;She traveled to Germany in February 1986. &nbsp;While there they lived in Tent City, and it snowed 20 out of the 23 days. &nbsp;Upon her return she was honorably discharged.

Margaret was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, Holton, KS. &nbsp;She was a waitress, hostess, truck driver, and recently the Hospitality Cook at Best Western in Hiawatha, KS.Margaret married Rodney Lynn Goodman, March 19, 1984, in Holton, KS. They were divorced in 2002.

Margaret married William "Billy" Carter, April 15, 2006, in Hiawatha, KS. &nbsp;He preceded her in death.

Margaret married Jesse Goth, August 31, 2014 in Michigan Valley, KS at the lake. &nbsp;He survives of the home.

Larry H. Evans, 81, of St. Joseph, formerly of Dearborn, MO, passed away April 13, 2024. &nbsp;Larry was born November 13, 1942, in St. Joseph to Howard and Wilma (Ogg) Evans.

He attended Faucett High School. &nbsp;Prior to retirement he worked for Westtab. &nbsp;He also worked for a number of years at Dave Mears filling station in St. Joseph, and was a member of the Missouri National Guard.

Survivors include two sisters Kay Fisher (Steve), Linda Searcy (Terry); brother Ron Evans; other relatives and friends.

Carol Jean (Reynolds) Cruz, 72, of Pittsburg, Missouri was called home April 12, 2024.

Carol was born July 31, 1951, to Dale and Ruth Reynolds in St. Joseph, Missouri. She married Sylvester Cruz on October 7, 1966.

Carol was a loving homemaker, raising her four children, Tammy, Kevin, Kent and Chad. She had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, traveling, and seeing new places in general. Carol also found joy watching musicals with her family as well as baking with her grandchildren.

She found great pleasure helping others in need and she was truly fond of the work she did at Community Recreation and Resocialization (CR&amp;R) in St. Joseph. She never knew a stranger, and would open her home and arms to all, considering everyone to be family and making sure no one went hungry.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Ruth Reynolds, and sister, Janice Thompson.

King City, MO: Opal Louise Bashor, daughter of Elvin and (Beatrice) Irene Bashor, was born November 8, 1960 at Barnes Osteopathic Hospital in King City, MO. She passed away April 13, 2024 at LaVerna Village in Savannah, MO at the age of 63, after an extended battle with Parkinson’s disease.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Opal was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Mike and his wife, Jean Ann; and a niece, Alaina Bashor, as well as numerous aunts and uncles.&nbsp; She is survived by her brothers Elvin, Jr of Florida, Clark (Marsha) of King City, MO and Lyle of Wyoming.&nbsp; In addition, she is survived by eleven nieces and one nephew, along with many great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.&nbsp;&nbsp;

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Opal graduated from King City High School in 1979 and attended college at Missouri Western in St. Joseph, MO and University of Colorado in Boulder, CO returning to Missouri Western to gradate with two degrees in social work and activities for the elderly. She worked as an Activities Associate in area nursing homes in St. Joseph and Cameron, retiring from Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron.&nbsp; She was also active in A.D.A.M. (Activities Directors Association of Missouri) for many years, serving as president for multiple years, receiving several awards for her service.&nbsp;

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Opal was an active member of Green Valley Baptist Church of St. Joseph.&nbsp; She enjoyed helping with the sound system during each morning service in addition to Wednesday and Thursday sessions.&nbsp; She loved her candy and the children that attended.&nbsp; She also enjoyed feeding the squirrels at her home and giving treats to the neighbor’s dogs. Those who knew her thought she was a kind and loving person.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Opal Louise Bashor 1960 - 2024 

Thomas “Tom” Jason Gilchrist, 62, Savannah, Missouri, formerly of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away April 13, 2024. He was born March 1, 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri to Owen Gilchrist and Anna Embry.

Tom graduated from Grain Valley High School. He married Helen Christine Parker on September 6, 1997. He went on to work as a proud Union electrician for the IBEW Local 124. A man of many interests, Tom could often be found enjoying the great outdoors—whether it was fishing, hunting, or farming, he embraced the tranquil beauty of nature. Summer days spent at the lake or engaging in his passion for firearms were among his most cherished moments.

Above all, the role Tom relished most was that of a family man. He is survived by his mother and wife; children, Laura Gilchrist and Mary McDowell (Mickey). His legacy extends through his stepson, Michael Parker (Angela), ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Gilchrist, Heather McDonald, and Bruce Embry, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Owen Gilchrist, and his daughter, Lisa Crail.

Known for his wise and often humorously skeptical saying, "I don't know about that," Tom's memory will continue to echo in the laughter of his grandchildren, whom he adored with all his heart.

Thomas “Tom” Jason Gilchrist, 62, Savannah, Missouri, formerly of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away April 13, 2024. He was born March 1, 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri to Owen Gilchrist and Anna Embry.Tom graduated from Grain Valley High School. He married Helen Christine Parker on September 6, 1997. He went on to work as a proud Union electrician for the IBEW Local 124. A man of many interests, Tom could often be found enjoying the great outdoors—whether it was fishing, hunting, or farming, he embraced the tranquil beauty of nature. Summer days spent at the lake or engaging in his passion for firearms were among his most cherished moments.Above all, the role Tom relished most was that of a family man. He is survived by his mother and wife; children, Laura Gilchrist and Mary McDowell (Mickey). His legacy extends through his stepson, Michael Parker (Angela), ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary Gilchrist, Heather McDonald, and Bruce Embry, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Owen Gilchrist, and his daughter, Lisa Crail.Known for his wise and often humorously skeptical saying, "I don't know about that," Tom's memory will continue to echo in the laughter of his grandchildren, whom he adored with all his heart.Celebration of Life 3:00 P.M. Pamela Joy (Mace) Miller, 44, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024.&nbsp;

She was born October 28, 1979 in St. Joseph.

She had a passion for music, especially country from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s.

Pamela’s smile brightened up anyplace she went and she kept that smile through many difficulties in life. She was the strongest person you’d ever know and had a beautiful soul. Her kids always came first.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Mace; and grandmother, Catherine Hite.

Survivors include her children, Bryan Hillegass, Samantha Hamilton, and Gregory Miller; grandchildren, Dominic Hamilton and Evelyn Justus; her father, Dennis Mace; and siblings, Sabrina Mace and Derek Thorborn.

Janet M. Loveless, 81, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024.&nbsp;

She was born July 24, 1942 in Fort Myers, Florida to James and Elinor (Burt) Lewis.&nbsp;

She grew up in Fort Myers, then moved to Washington, D.C., after her high school graduation. She worked at the Pentagon, where she met the love of her life, James William “Jim” Loveless, whom she married March 4, 1962. He survives of the home.

After Jim’s service in the Army ended, the couple moved back to the Northwest Missouri area. Together they owned and operated Imperial Super Gas in St. Joseph.

Janet loved flowers, sewing and quilting. She and her friends created the Tuesday Floozies Quilting Group that met yes, every Tuesday, to get together and work on projects. Her sewing expertise was known far and wide, with people often seeking her out for sewing advice.

She was a longtime member of Huffman Memorial United Methodist Church, where she also was a member of the Triple M Class. She also belonged to the PEO Sisterhood.

Known as a giver who never met a stranger, Janet was first and foremost a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Jim; son, Bruce Loveless (Diane); daughter, Gwynn Loveless (Greg Marriott); grandchildren, Boston Loveless (Alle), London Day (Noah), and Lauren Wood (James); great-grandchildren, Rory Scott Loveless and Elijah James Wood; and brother, John Lingley (Amanda Lawrence).

Charline Mollus, 93, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away April 11, 2024. Charline was born on March 16, 1931, to Charles and Cecelia J. (Nowak) Serocki in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Educated at the Sacred Heart Convent, Charline graduated in 1949 and soon after married the love of her life, Donald M. Mollus, on June 18, 1949. Their enduring partnership lasted more than half a century until Donald's passing in 2000. Throughout her years, Charline brought warmth and joy into the lives of those around her through her baking when she was younger and her love for crafting and socializing later on.

She was a steadfast parishioner at St. Patrick Catholic Church, where her presence was a comforting constant.

Charline's legacy is carried on by her children, Cynthia Trimbey, Pamela Ferguson (Mike), Kassy, and Shawn Mollus; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.&nbsp;

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald; daughters, Doni Whalen (Dennis) and Felicia Stroh, and her parents.

Funeral Service 1:00 P.M. Friday, Horigan Chapel at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery.
