Mary K. (Ferguson) Trickett, 65, of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023 at her home. She was born November 2, 1957 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of Barbara and Calvin Funk. 

She graduated from Benton High School, class of 1976. She married Dennis Trickett on December 17, 1988 in St. Joseph . Mary was an avid collector of western memorabilia and enjoyed her movie collection, especially Yellowstone and going to swap meets. Most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the former King Hill United Methodist Church. 

Mary was preceded in death by father, Calvin Richard Funk Sr., brothers, Ronnie Ray Ferguson, James Thomas Funk, grandson, Shawn, great-grandson, Kayden and nephew, Tommy Higdon. 

Survivors include husband, Dennis Trickett of  the home, her mother, Barbara Funk of St. Joseph, children, Bill (Cherry) Penland Jr., Barbara (Chris) Elrod, Priscilla Penland, John Penland, all of St. Joseph, sisters, Connie (Birt) Shirey and Roxanna (Bob) Kerns, both of St. Joseph, brother, C.R Funk of Deltona, FL, grandchildren, Ashley, Trinton, Jordan, Ariel, Dalton, Carson, Gavin, Jade, Gabe, great-grandchildren, Phynlee, Nevaeh, Kiya, Jameson and Palmer and numerous nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and public live stream; 10:00 am, Friday, June 9, 2023 at the Rupp Funeral Home, Pastor Will Purinton officiating. The Interment will be at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, near St. Joseph.

Kay Ann (Hurt) Gill went home to be with her Lord Jesus on June 4, 2023.

Kay Ann was born on August 8, 1944 to Violet and Frank Hurt, Sr. They preceded her in death as well as three brothers; Fred, Lawrence, Wilbur and sister Bernice.

In 1962, Kay Ann married the love of her life, Mickey Gill, Sr. &nbsp;From this love two children were born, Marta Gill-Sansone and Mickey (Tina) Gill, Jr. Mickey Sr. preceded Kay Ann in death in 2009. Her life was never the same. Kay Ann and Mickey had five grandchildren; Carter and Kramer Sansone, Lexi (Gill) Punzone, Jacob Gill and Olivia (Gill) Webster. &nbsp;Additional survivors include her brother, Frank Hurt, Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kay Ann had been very active in her church, First Baptist Church and previously Savannah Avenue Baptist for many years. Her Lord Jesus was her strength and comforter. Kay Ann is now home with Mickey and her Lord Jesus. Her heart will be at peace at last.

Service 11:00 AM Wednesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith and Sidenfaden Chapel, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment Mt. Auburn Cemetery.

Kay Ann (Hurt) Gill 1944 - 2023

Billy Joe Simmons, Sr., 92, went home to the Lord on June 3, 2023. &nbsp;Bill was born February 7, 1931 to Clinton and Gennieve (Tankersley) Simmons in Springfield, MO. He was the oldest of 8 children.

Bill was a Korean War Veteran serving in the USMC and USNR from 1949 - 1953. Bill later moved to North Kansas City where he met his soulmate JoAnn Garrison. They were married on November 21, 1956. They were blessed with 65 years of marriage and 8 children.

Bill was a devoted Christian and an active member of his church over the years. He worked as a retail manager for most of his life. They moved to a small farm outside Union Star in 1977 where they enjoyed raising dogs, livestock and growing a garden. Bill loved being outside in the fresh air. They retired from the farm and then moved to Savannah, MO. They attended the First Baptist Church in Savannah.

Bill was preceded in death &nbsp;by his wife JoAnn, son Charles (Chuck), brothers Paul, Clinton, Raymond and Mike Simmons.

He is survived by sons: Bill Jr. (Dorothy), Randy (Diane), Clinton (Kathi), Gary (Vicki), and Larry (Sheila) Simmons: daughters Lyn Lee-Beam, Teresa (Bill) Hillyard: daughter-in-law Sue Simmons: brother John Simmons: sisters Betty Perkins and Mary Glauser: 56 grand and great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Thursday, June 8th at Savannah First Baptist Church. A luncheon will follow the visitation. Service at 1:00 PM at the church. Interment and Military Honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Stanberry, MO: Gloria E. Carlson, 95, Stanberry, MO, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023, at a Stanberry, MO nursing home.

She was born on December 8, 1927, on the family farm in Vermillion, South Dakota the daughter of William Robert and Goldie E. (Butler) Jones.

On June 20, 1948, she married Mayo J. Carlson in Vermillion, South Dakota. He preceded her in death in 1974.

She graduated in Vermillion and owned a filling station along with Blue Top Restaurant in Conception, MO. Later in life she helped at the family farm. She enjoyed gardening and travelling.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Pam Carlson; sister, Valeria Jones; brothers, Tom and Bill Jones, and nephew, Doug McCrea.

Gloria is survived by her sister, Virginia (Dean) McCrea, King City, MO; friends, Dennis and Stacey Law, King City, MO and several nieces and nephews.

She was born July 10, 1965 in St. Joseph, MO, to Gaylen and Jean (Boles) Pearson.

Sonia married Albert William “Billy” Harbison, Jr. on December 17, 2016. He survives of the home.

She was a court recorder for the Social Security Disability Administration.

Sonia’s passion was helping women at the Pregnancy Resource Center. She was a past member of Rainbows and currently attended Central Assembly of God Church.

She also was a member of the Missouri Valley Amateur Radio Club, with her call sign NØYSZ.

Survivors include her husband, Billy; her daughter, Rachel Hecker (Chris); grandchildren, Quentin, Madi and Chloe; her parents; brother, Brian Pearson (Angie); nephew and niece, Andrew and Allison; other extended family members and friends.

Richmond, KY: Peggy Jo Higdon Ochs, 73, passed away on May 9, 2023.

She was born on May 13, 1949 in Saint Joseph, Missouri, to Delmas Higdon Jr. and Winifred Burton Higdon, both of whom preceded her in death. Peggy was a caring, loving, and selfless mother, grandma, sister, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at social events and dining out. She was an avid fan of her children and grandchildren. For years, Peggy enjoyed attending school activities and sporting events of her sons, Brian and Kevin. Later in life, she did much the same for her grandsons, Logan, Braden, and Tyler. She was always there to support her family. Peggy was part of a wonderful family. She was the oldest of eight siblings, six sisters, and one brother. All the times she spent with them were filled with many laughs, some tears, and lots of joy.

Peggy retired from Eastern Kentucky University after many years of working in the Bookstore Administration where she was a loyal and dedicated employee.

She is survived by two sons, Brian Ochs of Nashville, Tennessee and Kevin Ochs (Jennifer) of Richmond, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Logan Ochs, Braden Ochs, and Tyler Ochs; one brother, Gregg Higdon (Renee); six sisters, Susan Fry (Dave), Diane Henderson, Debby Scroggins (Dwight), Janet Hatten (Greg), Kim Marquis (Paul), and Kelly Leonard (Tom); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held at Oldham, Roberts &amp; Powell Funeral Home in Richmond, Kentucky, on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Following the visitation, Peggy returned home to Missouri where a graveside service was be held. She was reunited with and buried alongside her parents.

Richard H. Reynozo, a loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away on June 2, 2023. He was born on September 19, 1932, in Durbin, North Dakota, to Jose Cayetano Reynoso De Anda and Maria Anastasia (Hurtado) Reynoso. Richard was a devoted family man and devout Catholic who believed in the power of prayer. He was 90 years old.

Richard's education included studying criminology in Florida, where he earned his bachelor's degree. He also completed auto-mechanic school while actively serving in the military. His work history and association involvement were extensive, as he served as an electronics and radar technician in the United States Air Force and spent six years in the United States Navy. Richard was a proud Korean War veteran.

In his community, Richard volunteered with Twin Spires Church to assist the mentally handicapped. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and American Legion. His dedication to service and helping others was a testament to his faith and love for his fellow man.

Richard was an athletic man who played football, baseball, and loved bowling. While active in the military, he worked every weekend to support his family, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to their well-being. He was a loyal, trustworthy, and honest man, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him.

Richard will be remembered for making pizza and homemade ice cream for his neighbors, showcasing his sense of community. He was known for his loving, faith-filled, and friendly nature.

Richard is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dolores J. Reynozo; children, Ritchie C. Reynozo (Colleen), Robin C. Reynozo (Milagro), and Relinda A. Reynozo; grandchildren, Amber Roberts, Kayla Roberts, Caton Reynozo, Alexander Reynozo, and Joshua Reynozo; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Maria, and siblings, Ralph Reynoso, John Reynoso, Raymond Reynoso, Carmen Simons, and Mary McNeal.

Margaret I. (Dunham) June, 94, Savannah, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023.

She was born December 4, 1928 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Harold and Verla (Gray) Dunham.

Margaret married William “Pete” June on August 14, 1953. He preceded her in death on their 56th anniversary, August 14, 2009.

She and Pete were longtime members of St. Paul Country Club United Methodist Church.

Margaret was a member of the YWCA Young Matrons and enjoyed playing tennis as well as traveling. She and Pete went to all 50 states, Mexico and Canada. They especially enjoyed wintering at Palm Shadow RV Resort in Donna, Texas, where she made many friends and found a lucrative side hustle selling handmade scrubbies and other crafts to the other winter Texans.

Always up for a good time, Margaret was notorious for her line dancing, often leading the conga line to “Red Solo Cup” or “Elvira.”

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; her parents; her son, Ronald Allen George; three sisters, Lola Spaeth, Norma (Jean) Allison and Shirley (infant); and her beloved dog, Penny.

Survivors include her children, Louise M. (June) Jones (Walter), Alice Marie (June) Madinger (Dan), and Richard Craig June; grandchildren, Shane George, Jamey George (Holly), Daniel Madinger (Kellee), Ann Wardlow (Brad), and Lori (Nathan) Bell; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Dakoda, Kamryn, Khloe, Lennox, Adrian, Christopher, Nevaeh, Bailee, Sophia, and Anthony.

Roy Corless, 69, of Smithville, MO passed away, May 30, 2023.

He was born on May 6, 1954 to Franklin Claire and Dorothy Lee (St. John) Corless in Smithville, MO. Roy grew up in Smithville and graduated from Smithville High School in 1973.

In 1974 he was united in marriage to Cathy Sellars. After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they raised their two daughters. After their divorce, Roy traveled the United States as a contracted computer designer. His daughters, “world travelers”, were able to join him on vacations during their summer breaks and see the sites which he highly enjoyed. In 2003 he retired from his industry so he could spend more time caring for his parents and to enjoy his many years of being a grandpa.

Roy is survived by his daughters, Doety Wright and Jennifer Corless; grandchildren, Shelbie, Jasmine, and Jacob Wright and Jaden, Savannah, and Harley Beloff; great-grandchildren, Sally Gallo and Addi Dozier; siblings, David Corless, Cheryl Mason, and Daniel (Donna) Corless and their daughter, Danielle Jones; other relatives and many friends.

Cory Michael Amen, 46, passed way surrounded by his family on May 30, 2023 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He was born August 26, 1976 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Chuck and Gracie Amen

Cory is survived by his wife, Amanda Amen, and their son, Connor Amen of the home. He is also survived by his parents, Chuck and Gracie Amen, sister Loni (Jeff) Wood, niece and nephew Madilyn and Logan Wood, paternal grandfather Wayne Amen, and paternal aunt Mary Carol Adams, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Cory was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Mary Jo Amen, maternal grandparents Jack and Lonneta Compton, and a cousin, Justin Adams. Cory was also preceded in death by two very dear friends Rusty Larabee and Daina Dail.

Cory attended Central High School in St. Joseph, Missouri and graduated from Maryville High School in Maryville, Missouri. He pursued a higher education at Vatterott College and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, spending two years serving in Germany.

After his military service, Cory had a successful career as a photographer and phlebotomist. He was a kind and loving person who deeply loved his friends, family, and his cats. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Cory enjoyed taking trips with family, most notably taking more than one motorcycle trip with his father. He also took a camping trip to Canada with his grandparents.

Cory was active in the local music scene in St. Joseph, Missouri. For three years, he was a rhythm guitarist for the band Sinfrastructure and played shows with them all over St. Joseph and Kansas City.

Services for Cory will be held at Heaton Bowman Smith Sidenfaden Chapel in St Joseph, Missouri on Tuesday, June 6 at 10 AM with interment to follow the service in Bucklin, Missouri. Visitation for family and friends will occur on Monday, June 5 from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Richard L. Tiller, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on May 31, 2023. Born on August 28, 1937, to Earl Tiller and Lucille Kendzora.

Richard married Patricia J. Chirila on February 6, 1960. She preceded him in death on April 21, 1998.

He graduated from Christian Brothers High School in 1955.

Richard owned and operated Tilco Printing Inc. in St. Joseph, Missouri. His hard work and dedication allowed the business to thrive. He and his family proudly celebrated a momentous 47 years of success.

He enjoyed trapshooting at KCTA where he served on the Board of Directors for 12 years, fishing, golfing, boating, dancing, and playing a variety of musical instruments. He would often surprise his family with impromptu concerts; filling their hearts with love, laughter and lasting memories. Most importantly, Richard loved spending time at the farm, known as his "Paradise".

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Donald Tiller and Denny Tiller, and sister Darlene McCoy. Richard's memory will be cherished by his beloved significant other, Linda Berg, and their loving family: children Lisa Rice, Leanne Tiller, Leslie Turner (Ray), and Chad Berg (Katy); grandchildren Amanda Turner, Brandon Rice (Courtney), Tricia Turner, Jeron VanHoutan (R.W.), Chase Pollard, Jonathan Rice, Morgan Ortega (Anthony), Lauren Rice (Grant), Addison, Callie, Ashlyn, and Cassie Berg; great-grandchildren; Ryleigh, Tragan, Jerzie, Jayci, Kylen, Silus, Bodhi, Kazli, Sunni, Riot, Rome; sister Dolores Cole (Robert); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. William Harvey McClintock, 84, passed away March 28, 2023 in Houston, Texas after a brief illness.

Bill grew up in Marshalltown, Iowa, where he was a member of the 1956 Iowa State Championship High School Basketball Team.&nbsp;

He graduated from Grinnell College where he received&nbsp;his&nbsp;commission in the U.S. Air Force and met his wife, the former Ann Hedgpeth of Rock Port, Mo. Captain McClintock served in the USAF from 1960 to 1965 in Korea and Vietnam, then moved with his family to Houston, Texas, and began his business career as a stockbroker with Bache and Company.

Bill and Ann opened Ann's Clock shop in 1979. Later known as Ann's Fine Gifts, the business served the Houston community for 42 years.

Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ann; daughter Sarah McClintock and grandson Darren Carter; son Scott McClintock and wife Shana McClintock; and grandchildren Samuel and Sharlotte McClintock.

He was an entrepreneur and a man of vision and optimism who welcomed every challenge. He loved visiting Ann's Rock Port family, the late Jimmie and Thelma Hedgpeth and Jane and Wes Christen. He considered Rock Port his hometown.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Greenhill Cemetery, Rock Port, Mo.

Clarence Junior Worley was born February 16, 1935 to Clarence Edward and Hazel (Gilland) Worley.&nbsp;

On March 17, 1953 he and Margaret Ann Cook were united in marriage. From this marriage they had two sons, Paul Worley of Schuyler, Nebraska and Michael Worley of Fairbury, Nebraska, and a daughter, Ramona Lee, who passed at an early age.

Junior drove a dump truck for his dad as a teen and ended up owning his own truck. He also worked for the City of Craig as the water department manager and also as the town marshal.

In 2005 they moved to Fairbury and resided there until the time of his passing on May 31, 2023.

He and Margaret were married 70 years and ended up with six grandchildren, Tara, Ericka, Alicia, Kelly, David, and Mellisa, and 11 great grandchildren plus two great-great grandchildren.&nbsp;

Junior was an avid reader and loved his garden until his eyesight failed. He also liked to work in his basement shop building birdhouses and various other items.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret, of the home; sons Paul and Mike; daughter-in-law Brenda; many grand and great grandchildren; and brother, Ramon Worley of Muskogee, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence, his mother, Hazel, daughter, Ramona Lee, and a sister, Beverly Chastain.

Funeral services: Monday, June 5, 2023, 2:00 pm, Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City, with visitation following the services. Interment: I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Craig, Missouri.

John Blaine (J. B.) Phillippe, 74, of Savannah, MO passed away May 30th, 2023 in Saint Joseph. He was born in Saint Joseph on February 11th to Donald and Goldie (Johnson) Phillippe.

He graduated from Savannah High School in 1967. &nbsp;He married Janet Sayles in 1970. J.B. worked on the family farm all of his life. His son and grandsons will now carry on the farm that meant so much to him. His family was his world and he was the rock of the family. He was a quiet, humble man that was loved by so many.

Larry Eugene Barnard 62, of Saint Joseph, MO., passed away Thursday June 1, 2023 at Mosaic Life Care Hospital. He was born August 7, 1960 in St. Joseph, Missouri son of the late Lottie &amp; Lawrence Barnard. 

His dad started Barnard Auto Salvage where Larry worked for most of his life and later became the owner with his brother in 2014. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the 4-F Flathead club, he also enjoyed mowing grass, car rides,  and spending time at home. 

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 infant siblings. 

He is survived by sons, Darrin (Jamie) Barnard and Aaron Barnard, grandchildren Jake and Lauren, brother Jerry Barnard, and sisters;  Judy (Keith) Harris, Janet Barnard, and Jeannie (Aaron) Peckman, and several nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 6 - 7:00 pm on Wednesday with a memorial service and public live stream following at 7:00 pm Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the Rupp Funeral Home. He was born on April 4, 1957 to William A. and Edna (Foote) Pugh in St. Joseph, MO. &nbsp;On August 19, 1978 he was united in marriage to Ellen T. Schultz in St. Joseph, MO.

John worked at USFP in Leavenworth, KS. &nbsp;He retired in 2007, as a QA manager in UNICOR.

He loved the St. Louis Cardinals and watching his grandsons compete athletically. &nbsp;

John is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Peggy Hart.

John is survived by his wife Ellen, son Joseph (Susan), sister Karen (George) Szczepanik and three grandsons, Ben, Brady and Bauer Pugh, all of St. Joseph, MO.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, &nbsp;The Noyes Home or to Cleft Palate Children.

Shane R. Hebert, 52, Stewartsville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

He was born on September 16, 1970, to James and Nikki (Tyus) Hebert in Houston, Texas.

On July 2, 2022, he was united in marriage to Courtney Alberts.

Shane enjoyed being outdoors, especially golfing, fishing, and hunting. He was a member of the Pool League and volunteered with the PEB Baseball League. He loved to give everyone he saw a “High Nine”.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nikki Hebert; brother, Michael Keith Hebert; nephews, Steven and Cody Hebert; and his beloved dog, Sluggo.

Gilbert E. Kisling, 81, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023.

He was born April 3, 1942 in Beatrice, Nebraska, to Herman and Evelyn (Sixel) Kisling.

Gilbert married Emily Malmkar on November 27, 1963. She survives of the home.

He was a pastor for 50 years ending his ministry at the Abundant Life Family Church, Lincoln NE.

Gilbert enjoyed reading and published four books. He loved his wife, kids, grandkids and great grandkids. He enjoyed working in the garden and with his animals and enjoyed traveling and sharing his faith with others.

Survivors include his wife, Emily; children, Jill Morrow, Jeff Kisling, and Robert Campbell; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Gene Kisling, Russell Kisling and Karen Kreutzer.

Mark A. Merritt, a kind and loving father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2023, at the age of 62. Born on July 28, 1960, to Dennis G. and Benita M. (Becerra) Merritt in St. Joseph, Missouri, Mark's quiet and reserved nature touched the lives of many who knew him.

Mark spent his formative years in St. Joseph, where he attended Bishop LeBlond High School.

Throughout his life, Mark's greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He cherished every moment he had with them, creating memories that will be treasured by his loved ones for years to come.

Mark also enjoyed having lunch with his brothers. One of their favorite pastimes was sightseeing downtown and spending afternoons by the river, reminiscing about their childhood.

He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Dennis G. and Karen Merritt; his mother and stepfather, Benita and Bill Peters; sisters, Diana Lindsey and Michelle Walts, and grandparents, Pablo and Marcelina Becerra.

James Robinson, 90, of Edgerton, MO, passed away, May 27, 2023.

He was born on August 30, 1932 to Raymond and Ora Mae (Wickam) Robinson in Clinton, MO. James grew up in Lincoln, MO and graduated from Lincoln High School.&nbsp;

On November 17th 1956 he was united in marriage to Jo Ann Wright. After their marriage they lived in Windsor, MO.

James served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 and saw action in the Korean War as a 105mm Recoilless Rifle operator and earned the rank of Corporal.

James retired from TWA as a maintenance instructor.&nbsp;He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. James was an active member and was involved in Master Builders and traveled many places to help people in need. James was a loving husband and father and friend to many.

James was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Sammy and Bob Robinson; sister, Genevieve Beuell.&nbsp;

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann; son, Michael (Dawn) Robinson; grandchildren, Geoffrey (Melissa) Robinson, Laura (Alex) Barden, and Danielle (Ricky) Tartamella; nine great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
