Myrna Christine Hanson (Haggstrom) 1929 - 2024

Myrna C. Hanson, 95, of Weston, MO passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at her home in Weston. Myrna was born July 13, 1929, at her home in Fergus Falls, Minnesota to Adolph and Ethel (Fuder) Haggstrom.

Myrna attended country school 251 through eighth grade then attended and graduated from Fergus Fall High School in Fergus Fall, Minnesota. She married Arden (Bud) Hanson on September 6, 1947, at Zion Lutheran Church in Amor, Minnesota.

Nothing was more important to Myrna than family. She always said her biggest accomplishment was raising their five children. Myrna was a member of various church groups, taught Sunday School for many years, and was a Campfire Girls Leader. She also was involved in school activities. Myrna was always proud of her work and employment at EROS, Federal Earth Resources Observation and Science Center as an armed guard in the security division. She also worked in security at Iatan Power Plant as it was being constructed.

Myrna and Bud loved to travel and often included all the family or grandchildren, leading to many wonderful memories and adventures. Myrna was a wonderful cook which many friends in numerous locations were able to enjoy, especially her hot dishes.

Preceding Myrna in death was husband Arden L. Hanson, and daughter Linda M. Moore.

She’s survived by son Bruce (Reeze) Hanson, Ottawa, KS; daughters Laurie (Keith) Hoover, DeKalb, MO; Lynette (Kip) McGrath, Weston, MO; son Brad Hanson, Weston, MO; 7 grandchildren Shelly, Chris, Brian, Eric, Nathan, Erin, and Bridget; 12 great grandchildren Matthew, Lindsey, Christopher, Lilly, Destin, Bryce, Brooke, Bree, Brooklyn, Delaney, Calvin Levi, and Molly; and 6 great, great grandchildren Laurel, Brenan, Raelyn, Steele, Ellie, and Trig.

Services will be August 24, 2024, at Sugar Creek Christian Church in Rushville, MO with visitation at 11:30 and memorial service at noon with burial following. The family suggests contributions be given to the Sugar Creek Christian Church in Rushville, MO. Arrangements By: Vaughn Funeral Home—Weston, MO.
