Richard LaVerne Benedict 77, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024 in St. Joseph, MO. Hospital. He was born December 4, 1946 in Keytesville, MO, son of the late Thelma and James Benedict.
He worked at Carnation Can, Artesian Ice, and retired from AGP. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time with his family.
Richard was preceded in death by wife, Jeaniece Marie Benedict, his parents, son, Richard Benedict, brother, John Benedict, sisters, Linda Gunn, and Helen Claycomb.
Survivors include sons, Douglas (Jenifer) Benedict, St. Joseph, MO, and Kevin Benedict, grandsons, Cameron (Amber) Benedict, Kodi (Coral) Benedict, and Kyle (Gabi) Benedict, 8 great grandchildren and brother, Jim (Kim) Benedict, sisters, JoAnn Wilcoxson, Donna Benedict.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and public live stream; 10:00 am, Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the Rupp Funeral Home, The Interment will be at the Mount Auburn Cemetery.
