Lawrence Raymond Clark, age 86, of Atchison, KS, died peacefully on May 1, 2024, at the VA Eastern Kansas Healthcare in Topeka, KS.

Larry was born on June 28, 1937, in Atchison, KS, the son of the late Raymond Clark and Maurine (Caldwell) Clark. He attended Sacred Heart Grade School, graduated from Maur Hill Prep in 1954, and furthered his education at St. Benedict’s College where he played on the football team.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 27 SEP 1954, until his honorable discharge on 14 SEP 1956. He began his employment at F. P. Gering before taking on a lifelong role as a lineman. He worked for the power company in Atchison, KP&amp;L, later Western Resources and served his entire career there until his retirement from what was then, Westar Energy. Larry took countless call outs and overtime hours as a loyal employee. Since working one full time job wasn’t enough to keep him busy, he also had cattle at home to tend to and raise. He loved his cattle and the weekly livestock auctions; you just never really knew what he might bring home from the auction each week.

He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church, now St. Benedict Parish and the V.F.W. in Atchison. He had a great love for sporting events and attending his children and grandchildren’s different activities. No matter what the weather or reason, they always had to sit in the exact same spot everywhere they went. He loved his family and enjoyed life to the fullest.

He and Margaret “Cookie” (Cooke) Clark were united in marriage on October 5, 1963, at St. Joseph’s Church in Nortonville. They shared sixty plus years of marriage together; Cookie survives of the home in Atchison. He is survived by three children, Michael Clark of Mission, KS; Mark (Stacy) Clark of Lenexa, KS; and Linda Boos of Topeka, KS; son-in-law, Trent Scholz, of Lancaster, KS; eight grandchildren, Patrick Boos, Shawn Boos, Leah Scholz, Rebecca “Beba” (Beau) Vowels, Augie Scholz, Mary Clark, Catherine Clark and Emma Clark; one great grandchild, Bridger Boos, and one on the way and a sister, Harriet Celano.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Arensberg and a daughter, Lori Scholz.

Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, May 13, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Jeremy Heppler, OSB as celebrant. He will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A parish rosary will be Sunday May 12th, beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 6 p.m. Memorials may be left to the Lori Scholz Scholarship with checks made out to Make Good Choices Scholarship in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.

Sherri L. Coulter, 67, Atchison, Kansas, died Sunday, April 28, 2024, at her residence.

Memorial Services will be Friday, May 10, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home, with Fr. Jeremy Heppler, OSB, officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Sherri was born August 13, 1956, in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Don and Rosie Turpin. She graduated from Mount St. Scholastica Academy in 1974.

She was employed with the Headstart program in Atchison for a period before becoming a caregiver for her son Kevin for the last 44 years.

She was married to Michael Coulter. Mr. Coulter preceded her in death on February 16, 2009.

Sherri enjoyed working on her home and restoring it to historic accuracy. She loved spending time with her siblings and family. Sherri was an advocate for those with special needs.

Survivors include her two sons, Steve (Dana) Coulter, Omaha, NE, Kevin Coulter, Atchison, KS, her father, Don Turpin, six siblings, Mike (Tracey) Turpin, Chris (Melissa) Turpin, Kathy Phillips, Vicki Bennett, Pam (Mike) Andre, Tracie Turpin, two grandchildren, Jordan (Riley) Rischling, Taylor Coulter, and a great granddaughter, Emersyn Rischling.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosie Turpin.

Michael Ray McCrory, 69, of Atchison, Kansas, passed away in his home surrounded by family and love on April 25th, 2024. Michael was a beloved husband, father, and grandpapa as well as a devoted friend. Michael, or Mike as most knew him, was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico to James L. McCrory and Alice M. Gossaru McCrory on May 30th, 1954.

Mike and his devoted wife, Nora, relocated to Atchison, Kansas, from Colorado in 2018 after deciding to find a quieter life together. Mike and Nora were united in marriage on September 23rd, 2017 at Mike’s family home in Brighton, CO. Mike and Nora’s relationship was blessed by the spontaneity of life happenings whether it be through travel or friendship. One of the best memories is how they found their beautiful home in Atchison; Mike and Nora were on their way back to the airport after house hunting when they drove through Atchison. Nora was struck by the house across the street from their current home when Mike said, “but look at this one; it has a for sale sign.” They called the realtor and the rest was history. Mike kept up his avid love of golf after moving to Atchison, where he was a member of the Atchison Golf Club at Bellevue. Mike also served on the Atchison Chamber of Commerce, Atchison Art Association, rotary, and ran his ice cream shop, Lickity Split, for several years.

Before moving to Kansas, Mike lived in Colorado for over 40 years, where he raised his family and served as President and Chief Operating Officer for Information Handling Services in Denver, CO. He held many roles over the years at IHS and other companies within the oil and gas industry, including board memberships. Mike was a respected leader with magnetic energy.

Mike raised his family in Brighton, CO, with his first wife, Beverly B. McCrory. Mike and Bev were united in marriage on May 22nd, 1982, and married for almost 32 years before Bev passed away. Mike and Bev raised their two girls, Caitlin and Rachael, at their home in Brighton, along with many other animals that the girls brought home, including chickens, geese, cows, dogs, horses, stray cats, and even a reptile.

Mike is survived by his wife, Nora, of Atchison, children Caitlin Evans and her husband, Cole, of Severance, CO; Rachael McCrory and her fiancé, Peter Hamill, of Missoula, Montana; a brother, James (Cynthia) McCrory of Albuquerque, NM; a sister, Marjorie Fiske (Bill) of Morarity, NM; two grandchildren, Harper and Ada Evans of Severance, CO, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly McCrory; his parents; a sister, Susan Lisette McCrory; in-laws Woody and Mary Blum and Nancy Helmstadter.

Dora Mae Ewart 91, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away &nbsp;Monday, April 29, 2024 in a St. Joseph, MO. hospital. She was born August 13, 1932 in Burlington Junction, MO, daughter of the late Mabel and Al Sauter. She graduated from Benton High School class of 1950 and married Alvin Ewart on June 18, 1950, he preceded her in death on March 14, 2017. Dora was the Librarian at Hosea Elementary for over 25 years. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, quilting, jewelry making, ceramics, she loved cooking and spending time with her family and grandkids. She was a member of &nbsp;the King Hill Christian Church. 

Dora was preceded in death by husband, parents, brothers, James and Leonard McCombs, Harold, Dale, and Raymond Sauter, sisters, Mary Newkirk, and Anna McMillian. 

Survivors include children; Alvin Lynn (Gerri) Ewart, &nbsp;Joyce (Mike) Nold, Rodney (Charla) Ewart, Linda Bonea, Les Ewart, and David (Carla) Ewart all of St. Joseph, MO, eleven grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, sister, Betty Lou Smith, as well as numerous, nieces &nbsp;and nephews.&nbsp;

Pamela Jean Sell 61, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Monday April 29, 2024 at her home in St. Joseph. She was born November 25, 1962 in St. Joseph, Missouri daughter of the late Betty and Gary Sell. She worked as a housekeeper.  She enjoyed FaceBook, collecting antiques and coca cola memorabilia, and her kitty cat, Momma. 

Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, maternal grandparents, Laura Frances and Floyd Hines, who helped raise her. 

Survivors include: companion, Jim Nolan of St. Joseph, MO, daughter, Maggie (Jeremy) Helton, and son, Cain Nolan,  stepchildren: Nina Nolan, Jay Nolan, Crystal Vette, and Katrina Bonini, granddaughters: Maelee Painter, Daecee Painter, Laenee Helton, and Jernee Helton, several step grandchildren, brother, Leland Sell, and her sister, Terri (Larry) Bruce.

William Ray O'Connor, 84, of St. Joseph, Missouri, formerly Milan, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2024. William was born on May 18, 1939, and graduated from Humphreys High School. On July 2, 1960, he married Susan Fae Hudson, and together, they built a life in Kansas City and Humphreys, Missouri, before settling on their farm in Milan.

He is survived by his three children: William Donald O'Connor, Patrick Wayne O'Connor, and Lisa Marie Crocket.

William adored his grandchildren: Deric Jennings, Allan O'Connor, Andrea Garcia, April Amos, Emily Orr, Brian O'Connor, Molly Neuforth, Aaron O'Connor, and Riley O'Connor. His legacy also lives on through his great-grandchildren: Taylor Jennings, Alexandra O’Connor, Bruce Jennings, William O'Connor, Lily O'Connor, Jenova O'Connor, and the twins Aiden and Nilus Amos.

Keith May, his cousin, was more like a brother to William.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Florene Sharp O'Connor and Paul Toal O'Connor, sister Sharon Marie Cornwell, brother John Frances O'Connor, and great-grandchild Ollin Justus Amos.

William cherished spending time with his family, whether it was hosting picnics and barbecues by the pond on his farm or embarking on camping trips, traveling adventures, or fishing with the guys.

Farming wasn't just a livelihood for William; it was his passion and pride. He tended to his fields with meticulous care, nurturing each crop. His love for agriculture extended beyond the land to the animals he raised. William was known for his compassionate approach to livestock farming, ensuring that each animal received the utmost care and attention. His dedication to sustainable farming practices and his commitment to the well-being of his livestock were evident to all who knew him. In every aspect of his life, William embodied the spirit of a true steward of the land, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and respect for the farming profession.

His kindness, love, and warm spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

William Ray O'Connor 1939 - 2024

Robert L. Dolton, 88, St Joseph, Missouri, passed away on Sunday April 28th, 2024 in hospice care at Living Community of St. Joseph.

Robert (Bob) was born February 22, 1936 to Alice Lee and Cecil Voorhies. He was adopted at the age of three by his aunt and uncle, Lester and Helen Dolton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Kay Dolton (Beck).

Surviving family includes daughter DeLisa DeLay - Branson MO, Stepchildren Cory Beck - Elwood KS, Colleen Sherwood - Topeka KS, Kelly Beck – Port Arthur TX, Carla Landwehr - Platte City MO, and Karen Young - Newland NC, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bob graduated from St Joseph Central High School in 1953 and later served in the US Army. &nbsp;Bob worked in St. Joseph for Bob Douglas Construction, Armour &amp; Company Packing Plant, Land Construction Company, and J&amp;L Drywall. &nbsp;

The family will gather with friends from 11:00AM to 12:00PM. Friday May 3rd at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Chapel, St. Joseph. &nbsp;Graveside service and burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery, Highland KS.&nbsp;

Roy married Royetta Gray on June 11, 1995.

He worked for Proteck Audio for 30 years as a sound engineer.

Roy enjoyed spending time going fishing and hunting.

On January 22, 1966, he married Judith (Judy) Ruoff in St. Joseph, MO. She survives of the home.&nbsp; They enjoyed vacationing in Nestor Falls, Ontario, Canada in the summer and spending the winter in Alamo, Texas at Winter Ranch.&nbsp;

Doyle was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stanberry, a graduate of Stanberry High School, worked as a lifelong farmer, and served in the Air National Guard.&nbsp; He loved his family, John Deere tractors and the Saint Louis Cardinals.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry (Kirksville, MO). Ronnie was born on June 6, 1951, in St. Joseph, Missouri to George A. and Naomi Jean (Herren) Masters.

He graduated Troy High School in 1969 and earned his associate degree from Highland Community College. Ronnie worked various places, including machine mechanic, Silgan, for 25 years, construction in Oregon and supervisor of construction missionary in Mexico.

Ronnie married Anne Kernen on August 24, 1979, in Troy, Kansas. She survives of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Timothy Allen.

Additional survivors: daughters, Kerri Reichel (Terry) and Brianna Reichel (Kevin).

Steven Frank Haskey III, 82, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024.&nbsp;

He was born February 12, 1942 in St. Joseph to Homer and Bernice (Hathaway) Haskey. He grew up in St. Joseph and graduated from Lafayette High School.

He joined the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He later joined the Air National Guard, where he was an aircraft mechanic and achieved the rank of Master Sergeant and served in Operation Desert Storm. He retired from the Guard in 2002. He loved being able to travel the world with the Guard, having visited every continent except Antarctica.

Steven married F. Diane Thomas on August 18, 1961. She preceded him in death on December 20, 2022.

In his younger years, Steven loved to fish and do yard work. He later enjoyed painting houses – inside and out. He was a quiet man with a sense of humor who liked to let loose every now and then, making for some memorable moments.

Most of all, family came first for Steven. He loved getting the family together anytime he could. He also enjoyed teasing his family about their favorite sports teams. Later on, he was a full-time caregiver for Diane as she suffered through Alzheimer’s. He was a rock for his family, leaving a legacy of strength and love.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Diane; his parents; siblings, Delores Williams, Richard Haskey, Rose Fowler, and Patricia Alery; and son-in-law, Steven Hall.

Margaret A. Moffet, 91, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on April 27, 2024.

She was born in Modesto, California. Married to John A. Moffet for 51 years until his death in 2001.&nbsp;

Margaret moved to St. Joseph, Missouri in the early 1950’s. She became a LPN in 1963 and graduated from MWSC as an RN in 1975. She worked at Sister’s Hospital for many years and then became co- administrator and director of nursing at Green Acres Independent Living for 20 years, retiring in 1991. She was a volunteer for hospice for many years and was an Elder in the Community of Christ Church. She volunteered as a nurse for youth and family camps at Camp Farwesta.

She was preceded in death by her parents John Edgar and Salena Carlson, two brothers Leland and Wesley, a dear sister-in-law Annibelle, her husband John, and three children Joanne, Diane, and Lawrence.&nbsp;

She is survived by a brother, Daryl Carlson, daughter, Beth (Blane) Booker, 6 grandchildren, Brandon (Christine) Booker, Jana (Nathaniel) Webb, Kara Booker, Jason Russell, Angela Russell Storms, and Eric Russell, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and close family friend, Nancy Edwards.&nbsp;

She was a devoted Christian, a voracious reader, sincere believer in lifelong learning and loving mother and grandmother.&nbsp;

Moffet for 51 years until his death in 2001.&nbsp;Margaret moved to St. Joseph, Missouri in the early 1950’s. She became a LPN in 1963 and graduated from MWSC as an RN in 1975. She worked at Sister’s Hospital for many years and then became co- administrator and director of nursing at Green Acres Independent Living for 20 years, retiring in 1991. She was a volunteer for hospice for many years and was an Elder in the Community of Christ Church. She volunteered as a nurse for youth and family camps at Camp Farwesta.She was preceded in death by her parents John Edgar and Salena Carlson, two brothers Leland and Wesley, a dear sister-in-law Annibelle, her husband John, and three children Joanne, Diane, and Lawrence.&nbsp;She is survived by a brother, Daryl Carlson, daughter, Beth (Blane) Booker, 6 grandchildren, Brandon (Christine) Booker, Jana (Nathaniel) Webb, Kara Booker, Jason Russell, Angela Russell Storms, and Eric Russell, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and close family friend, Nancy Edwards.&nbsp;She was a devoted Christian, a voracious reader, sincere believer in lifelong learning and loving mother and grandmother.&nbsp;The family would like to thank the director of Corby Place, Chris Burris, and the staff and also Three Oaks Hospice for their loving care.&nbsp;You can take the girl out of California, but you can’t take California out of the girl.Farewell Services pending. Thomas Edward Hutchison, Jr., 84, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family on Saturday, April 27, 2024.&nbsp;

He was born July 22, 1939 in St. Joseph to Thomas Edward Hutchison, Sr., and Nellie Viola (Wheeler) Hutchison. He grew up in the French Bottoms, and loved reminiscing with family and friends about childhood memories on the farm.

Thomas married Patricia Bravo. They later divorced but remained good friends.

He was an over-the-road truck driver for his whole life before retiring in 1996. He was a lifetime member of Teamsters Local 41. Even though he drove for a living, Thomas loved to drive on his own time, especially on family vacations to national parks across the country.

Thomas was well-known as a social butterfly. He was always on the phone teasing people just to get something going or hanging out with his “Breakfast Club” friends at the casino, Betty’s Café, Hy-Vee or his favorite, Holt’s Place.

He loved to hunt pheasant, quail, turkey and antelope, and loved to go fishing. Tom loved the times he spent in Alaska fishing. He was most happy when he was outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Nicholas Slatier; and siblings, John Hutchison, Beverly Schweder, and Phyllis “Sweetie” Wallace.

Survivors include his children, Kimberly Slatier (Phillip), Thomas E. Hutchison III (Stacey), and Kirsten Hutchison; grandchildren, Cody Hutchison (Raven), Alex Gray (Mitch), Chris Slatier (Ariel), Whitney Hutchison (Andrew), Hannah Slatier, and Noah Hutchison; great-grandchildren, Delaney, Marlee, Stevie, Lennox, Logan, Leighna, and one on the way; sister, Donna “Nook” Hutchison Hilton (Doug), former wife, Patricia Hutchison; and numerous other extended family members and friends.

Thomas Edward Hutchison, Jr. 1939 - 2024

Betty Ann (Stadalman) Heck passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024, in Mound City, Missouri, at the age of 90. &nbsp;She was born in Bigelow, Missouri, on November 2, 1933 to Roy and Esther (Laukemper) Stadalman. &nbsp;

Betty attended elementary school in Bigelow and proudly skipped seventh grade due to low class sizes before attending high school in Mound City, where she graduated as Valedictorian in 1950. &nbsp;Betty then attended Gard Business School in St. Joseph and worked at Exchange Bank in Mound City. &nbsp;

Betty became acquainted with Wayne Heck of the Bellevue area at The New Dell in Savannah, and they developed a love for dancing, and each other. &nbsp;The two were married on February 13, 1955, and were engaged in farming throughout their married life. &nbsp;Betty took pride in keeping her home clean, raising a large garden, and being a great cook, often using fresh milk and cream from the family dairy for large daily meals from which no one went away hungry or without homemade dessert. &nbsp;She and Wayne enjoyed traveling, hosting Wayne’s army reunions, and getting opportunities to dance, all well into their 80s, and they celebrated 64 years of marriage before his death in 2019. &nbsp;Following his passing, Betty continued to enjoy being active with her grandkids, great-grandkids, and friends, finding joy in baking cookies (that became widely known as ‘Betty Cookies’), visiting, collecting Jewel Tea dishes, and in more recent years, doing jigsaw puzzles.

Along with Wayne, Betty raised and is survived by three children: &nbsp;Bob (Cindy) Heck, Mike (Jennifer) Heck, and Janet (Joel) Luzmoor, all of Mound City. &nbsp;She is also survived by her grandchildren: &nbsp;Brandon (Rachel) Heck, Lee's Summit; Blaire (Jarad) Owens, Maryville; Gabrielle (Shae) DeRosier, Fort Novosel, Alabama; Hayston (Katie) Wilson, Chandler (Morgan) Wilson, and William Heck, Mound City; and great-grandchildren: &nbsp;Ava, Emma, Halle, Bo, Lane, Finley, and Owen.

Betty was the fifth of six children, and her husband, parents, and each of her siblings preceded her in death: &nbsp;Margery Patterson, Rosa Lee New, Mary Frances Wilson, William ‘Bill’ Stadalman, and Richard ‘Dick’ Stadalman.

Services and visitation will be held at Chamberlain Funeral Home in Mound City. &nbsp;Public visitation for friends and family will be Friday, May 3, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, and funeral services on Saturday, May 4, at 2:00 pm, with interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery near Mound City. &nbsp;Memorials may be directed to Mound City United Methodist Church, Mound City Cemetery, or Mount Hope Cemetery.

Linda Sue (Meyer) Neiderhouse, 83, passed away April 28, 2024 at Tiffany Care Center in Mound City, Missouri.

She was born in Oregon, Missouri to William E. and Irene (Kuhn) Meyer on February 28, 1941. Linda graduated from Oregon High School.&nbsp;

She married Bud Neiderhouse on December 3, 1965. To this union was born Russell Ray, Betty Sue, and John Alan.&nbsp;

Survivors include her children, Russell Ray Neiderhouse, Betty Sue (Tony) Smith, and John Alan (Anna) Neiderhouse; brothers, Richard (Alita) Meyer of Oregon and Alvin (Rosie) Meyer of Bolivar, Missouri; sisters, Betty Richner of Pleasant Hope, Missouri and Janet Blazer of Mound City, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Jerry Meyer, Carolyn Meyer, Martha Meyer, and Bernadine Meyer; three grandchildren whom she loved so very much, Zachary Smith and Addison and Ella Neiderhouse; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Chad Allen Riddle 49 of Kansas City, Mo, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024 in North Kansas City. He was born January 4, 1975 in St Joseph Mo, son of Debbie and Dick Riddle. He married Lisa Littleton on July 20, 2020, and she survives of the home. He graduated from Mid Buchanan High School, and worked at Jack Cooper Transportation as a car hauler. He enjoyed classic cars, loved being outside riding four wheelers, side by sides or anything with wheels, boating, coon hunting with his grandfather Joe, watching the Kansas City Chiefs, and spending time with family &amp; friends. He was a very hard working man &amp; appreciated by his co workers, and was known as the “Wrecking ball”. 

&nbsp;Chad was preceded in death by his father, Dick Riddle, his paternal grandparents, John &amp; Hazel Riddle, and his grandfather, Joe McMillian.&nbsp;He is survived by his wife Lisa Littleton of the home, mother, Debbie Riddle, and brother, Brandon Riddle of Dearborn Mo, maternal grandmother, Muriel “Maudie” McMillian of Dearborn, Mo, step sons, Hunter (Gracie Gatlin) Perdue &amp; Miles Perdue, step grandchildren, Estrella, Catalina, Daisy Mae, and his in-laws, Steve &amp; Trudy Littleton of Florida.

Kathy Pearl (Comstock) Johnson, beloved wife, mother, and Nana to six grandsons, 77, of Gower, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on April 25, 2024. &nbsp;The love of her life and husband of 58 years, Robert, was by her side. &nbsp;She was born on October 22, 1946 in Versailles, Missouri and lived in Stover, Missouri for most of her early life. &nbsp;Kathy grew up as a daughter of a WWII Seabee and after the war, her family moved frequently to places where her father worked on major infrastructure projects for the Army Corp of Engineers. &nbsp;Kathy attended four different high schools before returning home to graduate with honors at Stover High School in 1964.

After high school, she moved to Kansas City and worked for Hallmark from 1964-1965. &nbsp;On June 26, 1965, Kathy was united in marriage to Robert Johnson, a Specialist 4th Class in the United States Army. &nbsp;When Robert returned from duty in Vietnam, they lived in the Fargo, ND area for 12 years. &nbsp;

In 1977, Kathy, Robert and their three children moved to Gower, Missouri to be closer to her family in the Ozarks. &nbsp;In 1979, Kathy graduated from Platte College with an Associates degree in cardiac ultrasound and worked as a registered echo-technician at three area hospitals. &nbsp;Later in her career, she worked at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City and retired in 2005.

Kathy enjoyed dancing, bowling, cooking, camping, playing cards, gardening and spirited games of Trivial Pursuit. &nbsp;Reading was her favorite pastime. &nbsp;She was a fantastic cook. &nbsp;Kathy held a strong faith and was a member of First Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, Missouri where she also taught Sunday School.

Kathy was happiest being The World's Greatest Mom for her three children. &nbsp;A loving, caring mother that would do anything for her kids. &nbsp;She would never do anything half-way - her persistence is a forever-trait she embedded in her children and grandchildren.

For the last 30 years of her life, her greatest joy came from being Nana to her six grandsons. &nbsp;Nana was always there, from births to birthday parties to ball games, school events, graduations and weddings. &nbsp;Nana always made sure the Christmas stockings were full of candy and that everyone had an Easter basket. &nbsp;She will be dearly missed by everyone that knew her.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Margaret Comstock, her sisters Sue and Denise and brothers Gary and Charlie.

She is survived by her husband Robert Johnson, her brother John Comstock (Georgetown, TN), her sons Bob (Erica) Johnson and Brad (Marla) Johnson, her daughter Lori (Allen) Amos and six grandsons: &nbsp;Dillon Johnson, Trevor Johnson (Jenny), Andrew Johnson, Benjamin Johnson, Zachary Johnson and Robby Hoffecker.

Per her wishes, there will be no public visitation or service. &nbsp;To celebrate her life, a private memorial for immediate family will be held on Tuesday, Apr 30 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Kathy Pearl (Comstock) Johnson 1946 - 2024

Maxine Harmer, 89, of Edgerton, MO passed away April 28, 2024.

She was born on November 8, 1934, to John William and Jessie Eileen (Martin) Teeple in Dearborn, MO. Maxine grew up in Edgerton and graduated from Edgerton High School.&nbsp;

On July 29, 1955, she was united in marriage to William “Billy” Carrel Harmer. After their marriage they lived in Edgerton where they made their home. Billy passed away on February 10, 1994.&nbsp;

Maxine and Billy owned and operated Harmer’s Café in Edgerton. Maxine enjoyed cooking and baking, working on puzzles, and playing dominos and cards. Most of all she loved being with her family and hosting family dinners.

She was an active member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.&nbsp;

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents John and Jessie Teeple; her husband Billy Harmer; her daughter Brenda Wilder; and sisters Ann Ramsier and Lavon Teeple.&nbsp;

&nbsp;She is survived by her son John Harmer; her daughter Karen (Harmer) Belt; grandchildren Tim Huntsman (Phillip Griffith), Sarah Klein, Danny Harmer, Andy (Charlene) Landis, Cory (Melissa) Harmer, and Billie (Cody) Routon; great-grandchildren Nick, Chase, Kellan, Lily, Andie Mae, Sophia and Lukas; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.&nbsp;

Maxine Harmer, 89, of Edgerton, MO passed away April 28, 2024.She was born on November 8, 1934, to John William and Jessie Eileen (Martin) Teeple in Dearborn, MO. Maxine grew up in Edgerton and graduated from Edgerton High School.&nbsp;On July 29, 1955, she was united in marriage to William “Billy” Carrel Harmer. After their marriage they lived in Edgerton where they made their home. Billy passed away on February 10, 1994.&nbsp;Maxine and Billy owned and operated Harmer’s Café in Edgerton. Maxine enjoyed cooking and baking, working on puzzles, and playing dominos and cards. Most of all she loved being with her family and hosting family dinners.She was an active member of the Mt. Maxine Harmer 1934 - 2024

John Stephen Potts II of Kansas City, MO, formerly of St. Joseph, MO, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024. He was born April 9,1939 in Hannibal, MO, son of the late Rosemary and Steve Potts. He graduated from Central High School, attended Kirksville State Teacher’s College, and soon after married his high school sweetheart Deanna Kay Mules on May 20,1961.&nbsp;

John worked at Hatfield’s soda shop as a teenager, then went on to work at the St. Joseph Stockyards. &nbsp;He made a career as an over-the-road truck driver for thirty-two years at multiple national trucking companies-Crouch Brother's, ONC, Ryder, and PIE. John proudly served as a union steward, representing the rights of Teamster Local 41 truck drivers.&nbsp;

John was preceded in death by his loving parents, Steve and Rosemary, his big brother, R.E., his twin sister, Julia Rosenberg, and J.L. his beloved son. Survivors include: his cherished wife Deanna of the home, son, John S Potts III and wife Jennifer; daughters, Dana C Armstrong and husband Art, and Michelle A Potts; and youngest son, Mark J Potts and wife Kim; and daughter-in-law Donna. &nbsp;He will be missed by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.&nbsp;He was an active father and grandfather throughout his life-his most treasured moments were times spent with any of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved playing games with the kids at any age: Checkers, Old Maid, Monopoly, Rook, dice, trick-or-treating, swimming, walking, golfing. John was known for his deep and contagious laughter. &nbsp;He would smile and rub his hands together slyly in playful competition.

John always arranged to spend time with his brother R.E. In their final years, they lived 5 minutes from each other and spoke daily by phone. &nbsp;They were known to travel back to their hometown Hannibal for an afternoon road trip-two farm brothers with the truck windows rolled down. &nbsp;As children, they shared a bedroom in their small farmhouse. &nbsp;They also shared football teams in high school and college. &nbsp;John and his twin sister Judy looked out for each other and enjoyed the same circle of friends, many of whom remained lifelong friends.

John’s most important and enduring relationship was with his wife Deanna. &nbsp;Their love built a strong home and family, and their focus and commitment to one another never faltered. A marriage that spans 63 years is rare-their relationship inspired family and friends. They supported and loved one another through times of adversity, and they reveled in endless days spent in joyful and comfortable companionship with one another. &nbsp;Their yards and gardens were beautifully landscaped-a labor of love they shared together. &nbsp;They planned their days around shared interests and the comfort of lifetime companionship.

John was a faithful parishioner at Cathedral in St. Joseph and Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Kansas City. Together John and Deanna contributed to their Catholic community and demonstrated the Christian tenets of love, faith, and compassion.
