Peggy C. Emery, 87, of Atchison, KS, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Gran Villas, Atchison, KS.
Peggy was born May 9, 1937, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Pickerel) Betts. She worked for Saunders Mop Factory for over twenty years. Peggy was of the Catholic faith and a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, they filled her with great joy. Peggy also liked old movies, music and helping people when she could.
Peggy is survived by three daughters, Janet and Bill Franken, Wathena, KS, Debra Miller, Leavenworth, KS, Cathy and Les Shufflebarger, Atchison, KS, a son Thomas Junk, Chesterbrook, PA, one sister, Sally Brady, nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Terry Junk, six brothers, Walter, Lloyd, Robert, William, Jim and Mike Betts, four sisters, Juanita Betts, Rita Reiff and Lisa Piper, Judy Hayes and a grandson.

Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, with a burial of cremated remains following at 12:15 PM at the Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the VFW Auxiliary and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
