Richard Carroll McQuiston, 77, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Monday, April 28, 2025 in St. Joseph. He was born February 28, 1948, son of the late, Estella and Robert McQuiston. A proud Navy veteran, Richard served his country during the Vietnam War and was awarded three medals for his service. He was a lifelong tinkerer with an endless curiosity, always fixing, modifying, or exploring how things worked. An avid outdoorsman and Missouri Master Angler, he found joy in fishing, stargazing, and simply being in nature. Richard was also a passionate music lover with a vast vinyl collection that reflected his deep appreciation for sound and storytelling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Don McQuiston. He is survived by his children, Derin McQuiston (Brittany Ivy), Eric McQuiston, and Fallon McQuiston; his sister, Janice McQuiston; and his brother, Randy McQuiston.
At Richard’s request, no services are scheduled at this time. He has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home.
