Lonna F. Conroy, 74, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 15, 2024.

She was born August 28, 1949 in St. Joseph to Donald and Mabel (Tribble) Stewart. Lonna was raised by Donald and his second wife, Norma. Lonna attended Lafayette High School.

Lonna married Roger Allen Conroy on May 18, 1976. He survives of the home.

She was a seamstress at Stetson Hats for 13 years.

Lonna enjoyed Bingo, bowling, going to the casino, crocheting, fishing, watching the Chiefs play, and playing online games, especially casino, solitaire and Candy Crush.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Norma; and sister, Janet Bringus.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Roger; children, Lonnie Johnson, Ron Johnson, Larry Conroy, and Stacey Waddell; grandchildren, Chandler Waddell, Austin Holland, Dakota Holland, Victoria Conroy, Dayton Conroy, Brody Conroy, Sara Johnson, and Cody Johnson; great-grandchildren, Kaydence Holland, Gunnar Holland, Everleigh Holland, Oaklynn Holland, Kingston Conroy, and Eisley Johnson; other extended family and friends.

Kenneth V. Daly, 80, Gladstone, Missouri, formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Notorre in Liberty, Missouri.

He was born November 6, 1943 in St. Joseph to Thomas Vincent and Rose Marie (Conner) Daly. Kenneth grew up in St. Joseph, where he graduated from Christian Brothers High School and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church

Kenneth served his country in the U.S. Navy, then was a firefighter for the St. Joseph Fire Department for 30 years. He was not afraid of heights, which really served him well as a firefighter.

He married Frances Beehler, and from this union two children were born, Regina and Daniel. Kenneth and Frances later divorced.

Kenneth enjoyed big family gatherings for holidays, weddings and special occasions. He loved to collect and assemble model airplanes and cars throughout his whole life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Kathleen Marie Daly, Thomas P. Daly, and John Francis Daly; and brother-in-law, Garland D. Houston.

Survivors include his children, Regina Sadoris and Daniel Daly (Latisha); five grandchildren; siblings, Michael E. Daly (Patty), Marie L. Houston, Janet A. Daly, Dennis J. Daly (Jerri Ann), and Margaret R. Turner (Frank); cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Parkville, Missouri - Lawrence "Woody" Woodring, born December 24, 1940 in Weston, Missouri to Chester and Rachel (Weigman) Woodring, was called home to his Lord and Savior on July 12, 2024. Larry graduated from West Platte High School in 1958, Central Missouri State University in 1960, and was a valued employee of General Motors, Fairfax, for 37 years.

Larry married the love of his life, Gertrude Kisker, on August 18,1962 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Farley, Missouri. He was an active lifetime member at St. John's, singing in the choir and serving in many roles supporting the church.

Larry leaves behind his wife, Gertrude, of 61 years and their three children: Bryan Woodring, Melinda (Gregg) Heinrich, and Karla (Mark) Fredericks. He was a fun-loving Grandpa to Maxx (Emily) Woodring, Lucas Heinrich, Lauren (fiancé JD Walter) Heinrich, and Aaron Fredericks.

Memorial services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Farley, on July 17 at 10 a.m.

Hiawatha, KS &nbsp; &nbsp;Darlene Covert, 85, longtime Hiawatha resident, died peacefully surrounded by family at Anew Health Care Center in Hiawatha. &nbsp;She was born in Humboldt, Nebraska, April 6, 1939, one of eight children born to Roy and Stella Krensel Bauer. &nbsp;

Like her siblings, she attended schools in the surrounding area before moving to Hiawatha where she lived most of her life and raised her family. &nbsp;Darlene was not afraid of work, often times held down two jobs at once as she was a ‘single mom’ and would do whatever was needed to be done to support her family. &nbsp;

Her first job was at Monarch Egg Plant in Hiawatha prior to working for Wilde Tool Company 30+ years, along with being a cook for Nakomis Restaurant and Cottonwood. Later years she spent working at a cook for BCDS (Brown County Developmental Services) along with being a nurse aide/CNA for Oak Ridge Acres Nursing Home, also in Hiawatha.

Darlene was a dedicated member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha. &nbsp;She was all about sports, KU Basketball and Cardinals Baseball (as if she had a choice)! &nbsp;

Survivors include two daughters: &nbsp;Jackie Bianchi (Tim) of Hiawatha, Sandy Walker of Mountain Home, Arkansas, a son Charlie Covert of Lawrence, her twin brother Darrell Bauer (Sara) of Hiawatha, Arlan Bauer (Debbie) of Wichita; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and a great-great granddaughter, along with numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Wayne Covert, Jr., grandson Robert Bianchi, her sister Esther Koeperich, four brothers: Donald Bauer, John Bauer, Harold ‘PeeWee’ Bauer and Harlan Bauer.

A celebration of Darlene’s eternal life is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at Zion Lutheran Church, Hiawatha, with Pastor Brian Holle officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha.

Friends may call at the Chapel Oaks FH Thursday and Friday until 5 p.m. The family will meet with friends at 9:30 until 11 a.m. prior to services Saturday.

Stewartsville, Missouri…….Lorraine Imogene Gundy, age 89, was born August 14, 1934 in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Lester James Harrison passed away July 11, 2024 in Stewartsville, MO.

Lorraine was a loving soul that loved to cut up and tease her family without a filter. She enjoyed a warm cup of coffee while cross stitching, playing cards or visiting with her family. Lorraine also had an adventurous side of riding motorcycles and going on poker runs.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Donald Annon Andersen and Larry Gundy; two children, Kevin E. Grundy and Roxanne M. Martin; one brother, James Lester Harrison; and grandson, Nicholas Zimmerman.

Survivors include two children, David “Butch” Andersen (Cheryl) and Wanda Sue Cashatt; two step children, Lori Gandara and Patty Zimmerman; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Maysville, Missouri…….James “Pat” Flannery, age 68, passed away on July 13, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family.

Pat was born on March 17, 1956, to Jim and Carol Flannery. After her marriage to Bob Wills, Carol and Bob raised Pat together as part of a family that included six children. Pat is the second eldest among them. He married the love of his life, Stacy Allwood, on October 20, 1979. Together, they raised four incredible sons: Ryan, Daniel, Kyle, and Logan.

Known as “Clippy” by his friends, Pat began his career at Herzog before purchasing The Redbarn in Maysville, where he and Stacy worked side by side for 20 years, building a life filled with hard work and community. He had a passion for old country music and cherished time spent with friends and family. His grandchildren were a source of immense pride and joy.

Until his last moments, Pat’s humor and wit shone brightly. Though he may have seemed tough on the outside, he possessed a very gentle and forgiving heart.

Pat was preceded in death by Stacy in 2019.

He is survived by his sons and their families: Ryan and Sharee, Daniel and Jessica, Kyle and Gabi, and Logan and Allison, along with eight grandchildren—Ayden, Beckett, Laken, Nora, Witten, Pruitt, Lucca, and a granddaughter due in October. He is also survived by his siblings, Bobbie Ann Ross, Kandy Owen, Sandy Wills, Paul Wills and Bobbie Wills.

Blayne Brian Baldwin, 4, of Wathena, Kansas passed away July 10, 2024, at the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.

Blayne was born on January 5, 2020, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Reagen Coker and Travis Baldwin.

Give us now the assurance that though Blayne has passed from our sight, he has not passed from your care. Draw near to us in our sadness, bring blessing out of grief, and help us in our tears and pain to know you standing alongside us and to experience your love and healing; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Blayne shared his father's love of trucks, especially monster trucks. He enjoyed playing soccer, hot-wheels, and being outside. His goal was to be just like his older brother, Braeden. Blayne was so excited to begin his adventure and to start preschool. Blayne loved his daycare family and Grandma’s so much. Blayney adored all types of bread, watermelon, and strawberries! His favorite thing to do was to tease Braeden each and everyday. Blayne loved getting all of his monster trucks and hot-wheels by lining them up, just like our truck shows. Blayney had a sweet soul, shy side, and a precious smile.

Blayne Brian Baldwin 2020 - 2024

Robert Dean Niebuhr, 87, of Savannah, MO passed from this life to his eternal home on Friday July 12, 2024 surrounded by his family at his home in Savannah. He was born September 30, 1936 &nbsp;in Burlington, IA to Albert and Martha (Peterman) Niebuhr. He married Sherry Steeby-Miller in Perry, IA on December 6, 1975 and she survives of the home.

Robert owned and operated Niebuhr Heating and Cooling for 45 years until his retirement in 2015. He was proud of his business and being able to work with his boys Tim and Bret for many years. He attended college at Iowa State. Bob was an avid sports fan, he loved the Kansas City Chiefs, the Royals and was always true to his Iowa State Hawkeyes.

Survivors include his wife; step-sons, Timothy Miller and Bret Miller both of Savannah; step-daughter, Deborah (Robert) Thorburn of Fillmore, MO; grandchildren, Shane (Melissa) Thorburn, Delynn (Tim) Kuykendall, Angel (Chris) Perez, Lacey (Bryan) Grooms, Austin Miller, Derek (Melanie) Miller, Kristin Miller, Thomas Bart Miller, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Wilbert (Delaine) Niebuhr of Fort Wayne, IN, Donald Niebuhr of Prescott, AZ, and Delbert (Denise) Niebuhr of Perry, IA; sisters, Marilyn Albright and Marlyce Hollis both of Iowa City, IA. with many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. &nbsp;

He grew up in Prairie Village, KS, attended Shawnee Mission (North) High School, and later graduated college from Baker University. He had a successful career in banking, founded Royal Coach, and later retired with Bank Midwest.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, Jim raised his three daughters in Whispering Hills, filling life with excitement at every turn. Jim continued to grow his loving family when he met his wife, Judy. They were married in 2001 and began their life together in St. Joseph, Missouri where they spent many cherished years.

Jim was service minded, had a playful spirit, and was a faithful attendee of Grace Calvary Chapel Church. He was everyone’s biggest supporter and those close to him will continue to feel his support from Heaven.

Jim is survived by his wife Judy Fowler, children Kim Nofsinger (Tom Koch), Missy Welch (Whit), Amy Reece (Jeff), Kyle Phillips (Tia), and Cody Phillips (Lindsay), and siblings Shari Blevins, Debbie Courser, and David Sullivan. Affectionately known as Papo, he leaves behind grandchildren Dylan, Megan, Morgan, Haley, Maddie, Mackie, Mitchell, Gracie, Claire, Lily, Violet, Ella, and numerous nieces and nephews. Geneva Leslie, 88, of Kansas City, MO passed away, July 12, 2024.

She was born on July 20, 1935 to Ivan and Eva Mae (Claude) Croxell in Correctionville, Iowa on the farm. The farmhouse didn’t have water or electricity. She grew up and attended school in Dennison, Iowa.

On February 8, 1963 he was united in marriage to Donald Owen Leslie. After their marriage they lived in Sioux City and in 1966 they moved to Kansas City where they made their home. After their retirement, they moved to Lake Pomme De Terre and filled their time with their grandchildren.

Geneva was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed gardening.

Geneva was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Estil, Fern, Opal, Pauline, Russell, Ivan Jr, and Lucille.

She is survived by her husband, Owen, of the home; children, Virginia (David) Hamby, Richard Leslie, Ken Leslie, Nickie Spencer, and Derrick (Peggy) Leslie; eighteen grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Irene was born on October 15, 1919, in Cannelton, WV, the daughter of Dryden and Pearl (Howell) Estep. She married Carlos Lucas on July 6, 1941, and he preceded her in death on May 23, 1980. With her husband she owned and operated Lucas &amp; Son Eggs and worked for Ball Brothers in Muncy, Indiana. She was a charter member of the Faith Bible Fellowship Church in Atchison, Kansas. 

In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, embroidery, baking pies, quilting, and puzzles. Irene loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son; Pastor Stephen Lucas, six granddaughters, twenty great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law, Barbara, five brothers, and two sisters.

James L. "Jim" Dunn, 79, Sachse, Texas; passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, after a brief and valiant battle with cancer.

Jim was born on September 16, 1944 in Torrance, California, to the late Lewis Martin and Myrtle Irene (Hayden) Dunn. The family relocated to Tonkawa, Oklahoma, where he was raised.&nbsp;

Jim was a 1962 graduate of Tonkawa High School and received his Associates of Science Degree from Northern Oklahoma College in 1965. &nbsp;In 1968, Jim graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering.

After graduation, Jim moved to Dallas, Texas and worked for Texas Instruments for two years before being drafted during the Vietnam War. Mr. Dunn proudly served his country in the US Army from 1969-1971.

After his military stint, Jim returned to the Dallas area, where he would spend the remainder of his working career as a computer programmer. &nbsp;In 1974, he began his dedicated employment for E-Systems, later becoming Raytheon Company, where he met the love of his life, Sharon.

Jim and Sharon Ferbert were married on August 6, 1976 and celebrated forty-seven years of marriage , friendship, companionship and priceless memories.

Jim and Sharon were avid travelers throughout the United States as well as abroad. They became certified scuba divers &nbsp;and took many diving trips exploring the Caribbean Sea.

In addition to being a devoted husband, Jim was a proud and doting father to his beloved daughter, Amy. Some of their &nbsp;favorite activities included the Indian Princess Program and numerous memorable camping trips. He was heavily involved and supportive of all her sporting activities and achievements. From their early days to their last, one thing they always enjoyed and bonded over was a good Simpson's sitcom.

In January of 2007, Jim and Sharon retired to the home they built on Lake Cypress Springs in Mt. Vernon, Texas. They loved the lake living and looked forward to deck parties with the neighbors and hosting their family and grandkids where they enjoyed fireworks, jet skiing, tubing, fishing and smores by the fire pit.

During his retirement, Jim continued personal programming and donated much of his time to his community. Volunteering &nbsp;for &nbsp;Lunches &nbsp;of Love at the First United Methodist Church and the Mt. Vernon Rotary Back Pack Program. Jim was also instrumental in developing a robotics course for the local library. As a wine connoisseur, Jim looked forward to lending his hand at the bi-annual Mt. Vernon Food &amp; Wine Festival.

Jim truly was a jack of all trades; a skilled woodworker, talented photographer and if he didn't already know how to fix a problem, he enjoyed the challenge of finding the solution.

Jim was always kind and cordial to everyone he met and never knew a stranger. He was intelligent, easy going and was always enjoyable to be around. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Jim is survived by his wife, Sharon, of the home; daughter, Amy Dunn (Jake Anderson); three grandchildren, Zoey Lebron, Keagan and Maddox Suggs and his sister, Mary Jeter (Grady), Los Gatos, CA.

Mr. Dunn has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel, where a register book will be available for signing.

John T. Holder, 86, of Gower, MO passed away July 2, 2024.

He was born on June 1, 1938, to Lawrence Eugene and Alma Glorina (Hiland) Holder near Gower where he grew up and graduated from Gower High School.

After high school, John was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Judy Kay Cone. After their marriage they lived in Plattsburg and later moved to Gower where they made their home. Judy passed away on October 28, 2021.

John was preceded in death by his wife Judy Holder, his parents Spec and Alma Holder; his son Jimmie Don Holder; his grandson Teryl Holder; and his brother Jimmie Holder

Debbie was born on January 28, 1956. She was raised by her mother, Dorothy Faye (Spinner) and her stepfather, Norman H. Ellis. She attended Rushville Elementary and graduated from DeKalb High School in 1974.&nbsp;

She married Howard Lee Hooper, III, on November 19, 1976, at the Rushville Christian Church and they have three children, Carrie (Aaron) Myers, Bridget Keller and Howard Lee Hooper, IV. Additional survivors include seven grandchildren, Shelby Seager (David Underwood), Cameron Seager (Mallory), Lucas Seager (Bailey), Madelyn Myers, Makayla Myers, Jaidynn Keller, Mylee Scherer; three great grandchildren, Dallas, Ruby and Ryleigh Seager; a sister, Sidwell (Jay) Jones; brother-in-law, Mike Hildman; stepbrother, Kully Ellis; and numerous nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Sherre Hildman and Kim Sampson.&nbsp;

Debbie owned and operated Hooper’s Greenhouse for many years. If you knew her very well, you probably still have something that she planted for you, crocheted for you or made for you. She loved creating flower arrangements, bouquets and decorating for weddings, gardening and bowling.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home, with Pastor Tony Carter, officiating. A visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.&nbsp;

Lilly was born April 3, 1971, in Ardmore, Oklahoma the daughter of Cecil Westmoreland and Betty Hearn. She attended elementary school in Waurika, Oklahoma and graduated from Atchison High School in 1989. &nbsp;She also attended college in Duncan, Oklahoma.

Lilly enjoyed playing outdoor games with the grandchildren and spending quality time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include three daughters, Cecilia Westmoreland, Patience Shields and Candace Shields all of Atchison, KS; two sisters, Lynn Westmoreland, Atchison, KS; Pamela Helfinstine, Zena, OK; a brother, James Delzeit, Troy, KS; and six grandchildren, Dorian, Nate, Xavier, Elijah, Gabe and Cruz.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her son, Brice Sowers, parents Cecil and Betty and her grandmother, Lorene Coffelt, a sister, Penny Almaraz; and two brothers, Eddie Delzeit and William Delzeit.

Linda May (Boyer) Arthur, 77, of St. Joseph, &nbsp;passed away on July 10, 2024 at Mosaic Life Care.

Linda was born May 21, 1947 to LaVerne and Floyd Boyer in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Linda graduated from Central High School in 1965. On April 22, 1966 Linda married the love of her life William Ray "Bill" Arthur. Together Bill and Linda had three sons. Linda worked in the banking industry for several years. She worked at Ladies Auxiliary gift shop at Heartland Health Hospital.

Linda loved to cook, listen to country music, traveling and make memories with family. Linda was always the biggest fan at her sons' and grandchildren's sporting events. She was the story teller, keeper of family history and connections. Linda was always thinking of and caring for others. She was happiest when her family was together, gathered around her kitchen table, laughing and sharing memories. More than anything, Linda loved being a wife, mother and grandmother.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Terry Boyer and sister-in-law Sharon Boyer.

Jim was born on March 15, 1968, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Kenneth Lloyd “Lucy” and Alice Marie (Ward) Ramseier.

Jim graduated from Wathena High School in 1986.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Tom Ramseier.

She was born on August 3, 1930, to Theodore and Minnie (Hahn) Schwartz in Wausau, Wisconsin.

She was united in marriage to Thomas Leroy Luedtke on September 11, 1948. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1993.

Mary worked as an office manager for Allied Glass Co. for several years before retiring in 1983.

Spending time with her family was Mary’s greatest joy. After her husband’s passing, she dedicated time to traveling the world with her family and she cherished making these special memories with them. Her travels took her to a variety of places, including Jerusalem and London.

Mary was never idle and kept herself busy with her various crafts. She loved to make homemade quilts, wedding dresses and Santa suits. Even after losing her eyesight, she continued to knit and work on her projects. She also enjoyed being outdoors and gardening.

Mary had an essence about her that brought many younger women to her for guidance as a motherly and grandmotherly figure of love and wisdom.

She was a Christian woman and a member of Grace Calvary Chapel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; son, David Luedtke; and her siblings.

Gary A. Graves, 81, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

He was born August 1, 1942 in St. Joseph to Delbert and Dorothy (Trautman) Graves.

Gary married Barbara Diane Spencer on July 3, 1965. She survives of the home.

He served his country in the Air National Guard for 29 years as a navigator, achieving the rank of lieutenant colonel, retiring in 1991.

Gary was a math teacher for the St. Joseph School District for many years before retiring.
