Raymond J. Miller, 53, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
He was born May 18, 1972 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Melvin L. and Donna W. (Sloan) Miller.
Raymond dedicated 25 years of loyal service to Evergy, where he worked as a Fuel Equipment Operator.
Raymond found joy in fishing, basking in the serenity it provided. He had a love for Star Wars—a passion he shared with friends and family alike. Raymond's profound affection for his German Shepherds and Pugs was a clear indication of his nurturing spirit.
Through every fall season, the thrill of watching the Kansas City Chiefs play was a weekly ritual for Raymond. His loyal support was also felt at the Kansas City Royals games, where he held season tickets that became cherished memories created alongside his daughters. His earlier years were spent in the field, dove hunting with his stepfather, James, a tradition that remained a fond remembrance of the unique bond they shared.
He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Miller and stepfather, James Hayes, Jr.
Survivors include his children, Kaitlynn and Raechel Miller; mother, Donna Hayes; brother, Michael Miller (Kelly); nephews, Michael II and Drew Miller; and uncle, Richard Sloan.
Farewell Services 10:00 A.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Friends of the Animal Shelter of St. Joseph.
