Randy Dewayne Martin 61, of St. Joseph, MO., passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024. He was born August 26, 1962 in St. Joseph, MO. 

He married Deanna Saunders on September 8, 2017 and she survives of the home. He worked in the construction industry. He enjoyed water skiing, boating, fishing, and building things.

 Randy was preceded in death by parents Sue Ann and Jack Martin and brother Ricky Martin. 

Survivors include wife, Deanna Martin, and parents, John (Beverly)Nagel, son, Michael Dowell, daughter, Lindsey Martin, Son Jimmy Neill, daughters; Latosha Hatheway, Nikita Minear, and Shaelynn, 10 grandchildren, including Bryden &amp; Bryant Consolver, three brothers, James Martin, John Nagel, Jr., and Marty Nagel, sisters, Jacquelyn (Terry) Lynch and Rebecca Martin.&nbsp;

James "Jimmy" Alfred McKenzie 44, of St. Joseph, MO., passed away Monday July 29, 2024 at his home in St. Joseph. He was born May 26, 1980 in Tuscon, Arizona son of the late Linavere &amp; William Mckenzie.

Paulette enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and horseback riding.

She was a waitress for Carrol’s Restaurant and Howard Johnson’s Hotel for many years. She also worked at Walmart.

Troy Christopher Allen Brown 54, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Monday July 29, 2024 in a Kansas City hospital. He was born October 7, 1969 in St. Joseph, Missouri. 

He graduated from  Benton High School, and worked for Burlington Northern Railroad as a lineman. He served in the United States Navy during the Gulf War. He enjoyed  fishing and mushroom hunting. 

Troy was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Marie Donelson, brother, Charles Donelson Jr., step father, Charles Ernest Donelson Sr.

 He is survived by brother, Shane (Ramona) Brown, sister, Angie Wuest, cousin, Jada Wall all of St. Joseph, MO, father, Paul Bodde, niece, Selena  Hayes, nephews, Lee Wuest, and Travis Wuest, as well as several other cousins. 

Graveside memorial service 2:30 pm Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, with U.S. Navy Military Honors. He has been cremated under the direction of the Rupp Funeral Home.

Lesa Diane (Stamp) Wall 76, was called to the lord on July 30, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Born on November 19, 1947, to John and Delores (Moore) Stamp, in St. Joseph MO, where she lived most of her life. &nbsp;

She graduated from Benton High School in 1966. Lesa married her beloved Everett Wall on May 1st, 1992. She retired as the Chief Deputy of Recorder of Deeds of St. Joseph Mo. Lesa was a member of the St. James Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending her journey with her husband gambling, playing cards with friends, traveling with their daughter, and fishing. Lesa was proud of her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She cherished her lifelong friendships and enjoyed making new friends. Lesa had a particular interest in gardening, planting flowers, baking, and watching the red birds and hummingbirds. 

She brought light and joy to those around her that will be missed. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother James Stamp. Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Everett. Daughters Laura Jackson and Jennifer Goin (Aaron). Grandchildren Joshuaa Kessler, Kauri Patterson, Zacherie Meeks, Drew Attebury, Luke Attebury, Jaydn Goin, and Carson Goin; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings John Stamp (Candace) and Michael Stamp (Sharon). Several nieces; nephews; cousins; and many lifelong friends. 

Rosary to be recited at 5:30 pm Friday, August 2, 2024, at Rupp Funeral Home, visitation will follow from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, August 3rd, at St. James Catholic Church at 10:00 am, with Father Jonathan Davis Celebrant. Patricia “Pat” Roades, 75, of St. Joseph passed away peacefully on July 28, 2024. Pat was born on May 29, 1949 in St. Joseph, MO to Anthony “Tony” and Gladys (Flint) Kline.

She married Jackie “Jack” Roades on July 26, 1969 in St. Joseph, MO. The two had just celebrated their 55th Anniversary.

She was a self-employed hairdresser for 25 years and then worked at the Disney Store for 9 years.&nbsp;

She was proceeded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts Lula Moss, Alice Propheter, Cora Propheter, Iva Botts, Lillie Adams, Theresa Evans; uncles Everett Flint, John Robert Flint, Nickolas and Henry Kline; Buell and Mary Roades, in-laws.

Survivors include her husband, Jack; three children, Tina Leight-Roades (Julie) of San Marcos, CA, Greg Roades (Julie), and Michael Roades (Georgia) of St. Joseph, MO; eight grandchildren, Cierra, Maddie, Gabe, Braden, Kailey, Andy, Sam, and Cambria; six great-grandchildren, Cuilin, Keiron, Norah, Callum, Lylah, and Ivan; other relatives and friends.

Pat loved geneology, all things Disney, all types of crafts, sewing, and spending time with family. Jack and Pat spent many years vacationing in California so they could spend time at Disneyland. For many years, they had annual passes and one year was in the park 30 times.&nbsp;

Pat also loved the holidays. She would decorate the whole house mainly in a Disney theme.

When she was growing up, she spent many summers at her parent’s cabin at Lake Contrary with her cousins. &nbsp;

Pat has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel. There will be no services.

Amity, Missouri……. Carl Dean Perkins , age 81, passed away on July 31st, 2024, at his home.

Dean was born on March 27, 1943, to Wyatt A and Dora Perkins. The Perkins family moved to Amity in 1948 from Starfield, Mo.&nbsp;

He served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Germany. After his service, he began his journey as a lifelong self employed mechanic. He started working at his garage in Amity in 1969. He continued working for over 50 years until he was physically unable. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of engines, automotive mechanics and was able to fix things others deemed unfixable. His pride and joy was accumulating parts for his never ending list of projects. Over the years he enjoyed deer and coyote hunting, drag racing and collecting lawn mowers.&nbsp;

Until his last moments, Dean was still attempting to acquire more pieces and parts from his visitors in his final days.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents Wyatt A. and Dora Perkins, his brothers Kenneth, and Charles and his sister Dixie.

He is survived by his two sons and their families: Sam (Monica) Perkins, and Nik Perkins. Two grandsons, Patrick Greer and Isaak Perkins. He is also survived by his siblings, Leon Perkins, Ann Anderson, and his steadfast ever present companion, his brother Larry Perkins.&nbsp;

Nadine Kretzer passed away on July 30, 2024.

Nadine was born on February 15, 1935, in Omaha, Nebraska to Gail Fisher.

In 1952, Nadine married Emerson Kretzer Jr. They later divorced.

After raising her family, she returned to school, graduating from Missouri Western State College in 1980 with an RN nursing degree. She was employed at Heartland Health System in the surgery department for 17 years, retiring in 1999.

After retiring, she worked at Mid-State Beauty Supply, Walmart and Western Missouri Correctional Center until 2007.

She was preceded in death by her mother; her sons, Michael Joseph Kretzer and John Charles Krezter; sister, Donna Rottler; grandsons, David Scott Kepner, Michael Dean Krezter, and Brian Patrick Brandon; great-grandson, Ethan Thomas Koster; and son-in-law, Dennis Smith.

Nadine is survived by her children, Marie Hoyt (Ron), Gail Smith, Emerson Kretzer (Denise), David Kretzer, Margaret Wells (Skeet Rufener), Timothy Kretzer (Karrie), and Karl Krezter (Regina), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

A quiet man with a good sense of humor, Jeff liked to make others laugh. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Randy Nash.

Mary Louise Reynolds, 83, Madison, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2024, in Madison, Nebraska. Born on October 26, 1940, in Willis, Kansas, to Maxine (Kistner) and August Hossfeld.

Mary lived a full and vibrant life characterized by her loving nature, friendly demeanor, and passionate spirit.

She graduated from Highland Community College and dedicated many years of her life to the St. Joseph State Hospital in admissions, providing comfort and assistance to those in need.

Mary found solace and joy in growing her plants, nurturing them to flourish just as she did with her relationships. She had a passion for raising German shepherds, dedicating much of her time and care to these loyal and intelligent dogs.

Her journey through life saw her move from her birthplace in Willis, Kansas, to Saint Joseph upon marriage. Eight years ago, she settled in Norfolk, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Reynolds; a stillborn daughter; her parents; and her brother Larry Hossfeld.

Survivors include her children, Phil Reynolds (Karen), Rob Reynolds (Jean), and Mike Reynolds (Angela). Her grandchildren, Doug, Jennifer, Karen, and Billy Reynolds. Step-grandchildren, Christine Brewer and Samantha Baker; great-grandchildren, Myah and Maci Reynolds, and step-great-grandchildren, Eli and Zach Brewer, Isla Pierson, and Miles Baker.

Mary has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched, and her influence will continue to be felt through the generations.

Born on October 26, 1940, in Willis, Kansas, to Maxine (Kistner) and August Hossfeld.Mary lived a full and vibrant life characterized by her loving nature, friendly demeanor, and passionate spirit.She graduated from Highland Community College and dedicated many years of her life to the St. Joseph State Hospital in admissions, providing comfort and assistance to those in need.Mary found solace and joy in growing her plants, nurturing them to flourish just as she did with her relationships. She had a passion for raising German shepherds, dedicating much of her time and care to these loyal and intelligent dogs.Her journey through life saw her move from her birthplace in Willis, Kansas, to Saint Joseph upon marriage. Eight years ago, she settled in Norfolk, Nebraska.She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Reynolds; a stillborn daughter; her parents; and her brother Larry Hossfeld.Survivors include her children, Phil Reynolds (Karen), Rob Reynolds (Jean), and Mike Reynolds (Angela). Marilyn Sue Morton, 92, of Smithville, MO passed away July 30, 2024.

She was born on May 1, 1932 to Eldon Artie and Cornelia Faye (Shannon) Murphy in Ferrelview, MO where she grew up. Marilyn graduated from Smithville High School.

On August 11, 1950 she was united in marriage to David “Bud“ Morton. After their marriage they lived in Parkville, Gladstone and in 1958 they moved to Smithville where they made their home.

Marilyn worked for Spelman Memorial Hospital and later St. Luke’s Northland Hospital as a Rehab Coordinator for many years.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Smithville and the American Legion Post 58 Auxiliary in Smithville.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Barbara Scales.

She is survived by her husband, Bud, of the home, two daughters, Stephanie (Bradley) Henson and Tiernie (James) Darr; three grandchildren, Jeromy (Ashley) Darr, Jonathan (Amy) Darr, and Mackenzie (Nick) Messina; great-grandchildren, Charley, Paisley, Greyson, Christian, and Beau; other relatives and many friends.

Sister Jan Futrell, OSB, 89, a Benedictine sister of Mount St. Scholastica, Atchison, Kan., died Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the monastery. The vigil service will be Monday, August 5, at 7 p.m. in the monastery chapel, and the Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated there Tuesday, August 6, at 10:30 a.m.

Sister Jan was born to George and Martha Thiel Futrell on December 3, 1934, in Oklahoma City. After graduating from McGuinness High School there, she attended a year of college before entering the Benedictine sisters in Guthrie, Okla., in 1953. For 19 years, she taught in parish schools in Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Okeene, Okla. In 1968, Sister Jan was part of a group of sisters who founded the new community of Red Plains Monastery, first in Oklahoma City and later moving to Piedmont. 

In 1973, she participated in the Institute of Religious Formation at St. Louis University. A year later, she joined the staff and helped found a new international program called Focus on Leadership in Denver where she provided spiritual direction and retreats and trained others. When she returned to Oklahoma City in 1980, she helped found God+Center to provide spiritual direction training, which later evolved into the Red Plains Spirituality Center. Sister Jan also served as director of Renew for parishes in the archdiocese of Oklahoma City as well as spiritual formation director of the Pastoral Ministry Program. Eventually, she conducted spiritual renewal workshops in Africa, England, Ireland, Singapore, Canada and the United States along with her brother Father John Futrell, SJ. Sister Jan served as prioress of the Sisters of Benedict from 2002 to 2009, when the group merged with Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, Kansas. 

She continued to provide spiritual direction for some years after she moved to Atchison.

Goldie Cecelia Baldwin, 92, St. Joseph, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, July 27, 2024 to join her Savior, Jesus Christ. &nbsp;Goldie was born September 15, 1931 to loving parents Alfred Regan and Cassie Myree (Reynolds) DeSpain. 

Living her younger years in Rushville she attended Block Elementary, a one room school, Rushville High School and Benton High School. Goldie married the love of her life, William Calvin "Babe" Baldwin on April 2, 1948. &nbsp;They were married for 56 wonderful years, having been blessed with a loving family of two sons and a daughter. The most important thing in her life was her family. She loved her family unconditional and would walk a million miles for each one. Her grandchildren of many took precedence. She always wanted the best for everyone. She enjoyed the times she had with her children as they grew, cherished Family get-togethers at her home, loved her two cats Tiny and Grace, and doing what she could to make a difference.

Goldie enjoyed writing poetry and song writing and in doing so, had a song set to music. She was involved in Hosea PTA, South Side Community Development, and South Side Fall Festival as a volunteer for many years. She assisted with setting up the booths and served as Grand Marshall along with her daughter in 2015. &nbsp;Goldie enjoyed sewing, gardening, helping her daughter with floral arranging, and keeping up with all her family members. 

She loved spending time with her grandchildren of many and teaching them whatever she could. She was a Christian and member of Carnegie Baptist Church for several years where she attended and taught Sunday school. &nbsp;Later on she became a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Goldie worked many places throughout her lifetime: &nbsp;Big Smith, Nellie Don, Standard Brands, Sherman Drug Store, Plymouth Department Store, and retiring from The St. Joseph School District where she was a baker at Benton High School for several years.&nbsp;

Goldie was preceded in death by parents; sisters: &nbsp;Rose Boyles, Mary Arnold and brothers: Roy Ben, and Alfred DeSpain, best friend Deloris Rains Justus.

Survivors are Sons: Col. Delbert Richardson, 86, of St. Joseph MO, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024 at his son's home in Wichita, KS. He was born October 18, 1937 in Moberly, MO, son of Thomas and Sarrah Richardson. 

He graduated from Moberly High School. On July 8, 1960, he married Alice Hickman. Delbert served in the United States Air Force, and later retired from the Missouri Air National Guard,139th Airlift Wing after 42 years of service. He worked at Orscheln Truck Lines as a Terminal Manager. Delbert was a longtime member and Deacon of McCarthy Baptist Church. &nbsp;He enjoyed watching the KC Royals Baseball, the KC Chiefs Football, and going to his Church.&nbsp;

Delbert was preceded in death by wife, Alice Irene Richardson in 2022, his parents, and 5 siblings. 

Survivors include: sons, Paul (Barbara) Richardson of Wichita, KS, Peter (Dorothy) Richardson of Stratford NJ, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 sibling, Ruby Gladys (Richardson) Olson of Umatilla FL.

D. Scott Summerford, 70, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Mosaic Life Care. He was born February 20, 1954 in Tampa, FL, son of Gola "Jeanne" and Al Summerford. 

He graduated from Lafayette High School, 1972, and Park University, RN. Scott worked many years as a Registered Nurse. He was also a longtime Bandmember of Crystal Flames. &nbsp;Scott was a great musician, loved gardening, was a good friend and enjoyed helping others.

 He was preceded in death by wife, Cindy Summerford, his parents, and daughter, Pandora Summerford. 

Survivors include: children, Kilah Castillo of St. Joseph, Shanna (Jim) Bosley of Savannah, David (Stacy) Summerford of Blue Springs, MO, and Jennifer (Colton) Galvan of St. Joseph, siblings, Denice Summerford of Bemidji, MN, Daniel Summerford of Kansas City, MO, and Devin (Kelly) Summerford of Blue Springs, MO, former wife, Marcia Williams of Savannah, MO, grandchildren, Bailey, Katie, Brandon, Brysen, Kyle, Phoebe, Steven, Piper, Mason, Alex, Kelli Ann, Trinity, Keegan, and Mackenzie, 5 great-grandchildren, and one on the way, and other extended family and friends.

Ronald Brad Kossen, 60, of Platte City, passed away on July 23rd, 2024, with his family lovingly by his side.

Ron was born October 28th, 1963, in Springfield, MO, to Charles Ronald and Judith Ann (Delashmit) Kossen.

Ron was a 1982 graduate of Platte County High School in Platte City, MO. He was artistically talented and loved music, singing, drawing, and creating displays of the things he loved (evident to anyone that has seen his garage). Ron was also an avid car enthusiast. It didn’t matter if he was driving his favorite, a Corvette convertible, or an old Chevy S-10… he loved it all the same.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Charles Kossen; brother, Bart Kossen; sister-in-law, Robin Kossen, and niece Kristina Lawrence.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 30 years, Deanna (Thomson) Kossen; son Brad (Anna) Kossen; daughter Jessica (Kossen) Alvizo; grandchildren, Aiden Charles Kossen, Dominic Alexander Alvizo, and Francis Marie Kossen; mother, Judy Kossen; siblings, Bill Kossen, Brett (Beth) Kossen; Leeia Kossen; and Zachary (Gaylene) Kossen; many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Services will be held Friday, August 2nd at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City, MO. Visitation at 6:00 p.m., followed by a simple memorial service. The family is planning a Celebration of Life to be held later.

Ronald Brad Kossen, 60, of Platte City, passed away on July 23rd, 2024, with his family lovingly by his side.Ron was born October 28th, 1963, in Springfield, MO, to Charles Ronald and Judith Ann (Delashmit) Kossen.Ron was a 1982 graduate of Platte County High School in Platte City, MO. He was artistically talented and loved music, singing, drawing, and creating displays of the things he loved (evident to anyone that has seen his garage). Ron was also an avid car enthusiast. It didn’t matter if he was driving his favorite, a Corvette convertible, or an old Chevy S-10… he loved it all the same.Ron was preceded in death by his father, Charles Kossen; brother, Bart Kossen; sister-in-law, Robin Kossen, and niece Kristina Lawrence.He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 30 years, Deanna (Thomson) Kossen; son Brad (Anna) Kossen; daughter Jessica (Kossen) Alvizo; grandchildren, Aiden Charles Kossen, Dominic Alexander Alvizo, and Francis Marie Kossen; mother, Judy Kossen; siblings, Bill Kossen, Brett (Beth) Kossen; Leeia Kossen; and Zachary (Gaylene) Kossen; many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.Services will be held Friday, August 2nd at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City, MO. Crystal Irene Heinrichs, 96, of Easton, MO passed away, July 29, 2024.

She was born on February 13, 1928, to John and Nellie Mae (Crutchlow) Gleaves near Stanberry, MO. Crystal graduated from Guilford High School.

On November 30, 1946, she was united in marriage to David Eugene Heinrichs. After their marriage they lived in Guilford, King City, and St. Joseph. In 1962 they moved to Easton where they made their home. Her husband, David, preceded her in death on January 29, 1998.

Crystal worked for Snow White Restaurant, was a receptionist for Dr. Owen Craig both in St. Joseph, and she conducted ASVAB tests in area high schools.

She was a member of Midway Baptist Church and later a member of Easton Presbyterian Church. Crystal was also a member of the Eastern Star in Stewartsville for many years. She enjoyed ceramics, playing the piano by ear and gardening. Over the years, she cared for many generations of her family including her grandchildren, Donnie, Jessie, Irene, Eugene, and great-granddaughter Deanna.

Crystal was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, John Gleaves and James Gleaves; daughter, Twila Ellington; and son Gary Heinrichs.

Crystal is survived by her children, Dale Heinrichs and Guy (Stella) Heinrichs; twelve grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 2nd at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Gower with visitation one hour prior to the service.

On July 27, 2024, Patrick D. Karl III was called home to be with the Lord.

Born March 18, 1998 to Patrick Karl, Jr. and Angela Kirkland, he brought a light to everyone who loved him.

Working with his hands and a set of tools, there was nothing he couldn’t fix. A graduate of Savannah High School and the Hillyard Technical Center Welding Program, Patrick had worked as an automation technician at Clarios.

Patrick enjoyed fishing, hunting, wrestling, and football, as well as tinkering on his motorcycle.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, George Benner, Pat Karl, Sr., and Roger Harris; great-grandfather, Charles Eugene Cox; and uncle, Jason Cox.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Angela and David Kirkland; father, Patrick D. Karl, Jr.; fiancée, Tabitha Dias; sister, Makinze Karl (Joseph Vaughn); nephews, Joseph, Mack, Bayley, Ryker and Bishop Vaughn; grandmothers, Deana Benner and Karen Karl; great-grandmother, Loretta Joyce Cox; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends whom he loved dearly.

His nephews and little cousins were the light of his life. Teaching them life lessons, all while instigating their ornery sides, was what he lived for.

Patrick D. Karl III 1998 - 2024

Ruston Robert Schaefer passed from this life on July 25, 2024 at the age of 84. Born September 11, 1939&nbsp;to Rev. Henry H. Schaefer and Marcella M. Schaefer (nee Koeneman), he was the sixth child of thirteen.

He was baptized by his father on October 8, 1939 and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on April 27, 1952.&nbsp;Ruston spent his entire childhood in Bourbon, MO in a large family with lots of love, activity, and&nbsp;excitement. He graduated from Bourbon High School on May 23, 1957, with the honor of being the&nbsp;senior class president. Ruston graduated from the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy (now&nbsp;Missouri S&amp;T) in Rolla, MO in January, 1962 with a bachelor of science degree and a commission as a&nbsp;second lieutenant in the US Army Reserve. 

He was called to active duty and proudly spent two years in&nbsp;the Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Bragg, NC during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He then spent several years in the Army Reserve until his honorable discharge in 1968. He was not called to active duty during&nbsp;the Vietnam War.

He married Kathleen Norma Kelpe of Cape Girardeau on June 8, 1962, and they were blessed with two&nbsp;daughters, Teresa Jo (Terri) and Melinda Joy (Lynn). He worked his entire career as an engineer and&nbsp;then as a maintenance superintendent in the electrical power plants of Union Electric Company (now&nbsp;Ameren) of St. Louis, MO. He retired in November 1999, and traveled extensively to as many US&nbsp;National Parks as he could. He finally settled in Texas on his brother Marcus’ horse farm as of July, 2008,&nbsp;living there 13 years. During retirement, he very much enjoyed involvement in his church, doing&nbsp;volunteer construction for Habitat for Humanity, and vegetable gardening. Later years of his life brought him to live near his daughter Lynn and grandsons Devin and Clay in Leavenworth, KS where he joined St.&nbsp;Paul Lutheran Church and continued using his love of gardening to serve others through the church’s&nbsp;community garden.

He is survived by his daughters Terri (Bill) Menchak and Lynn VanVelzer; grandchildren Jessica Menchak,&nbsp;Cassandra (Jake) Feldt, Devin Lampen, Clayton Lampen; brothers Martin (Michelle) Schaefer, Marcus&nbsp;(Donna) Schaefer and Daniel (Lonnie) Schaefer; sisters Jo Ann Zuberbier, Mary (Richard) Meyer, and&nbsp;Lucinda (Bob) Saeger; sisters-in-law Betty Schaefer, Phyllis Schaefer; brother-in-law Ron Meyer; and&nbsp;many nieces, nephews, and extended family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his former wife&nbsp;Kathleen Schaefer, brothers Rev. Henry L. (Marilyn) Schaefer, Charles Schaefer, David Schaefer, sisters&nbsp;Jeanerette Meyer, Marcie (Larry) K. Bruning, and Ruth J. Lambert, and brother-in-law Orlan Zuberbier.

&nbsp;Tom was born on October 20, 1935 to Lorenze Martin and Fannie (Clausen) Hansen in Anthon, Iowa. &nbsp;He was the youngest of 10 children born to this union. &nbsp;

Tom attended Country School until the 8th grade when he had to stay home and farm. &nbsp;Tom served his country in the Army for three years. &nbsp;Upon his honorable discharge from the Army and returning home from Japan, he married Sylvia Jebsen on June 1, 1958 in Sioux City, Iowa. Tom and Sylvia were blessed with two children, Virginia and Monte. They farmed in the Hinton area for many years. &nbsp;

Tom also worked for Foulk Bros Plumbing for 23 years installing sprinkler systems before his retirement. &nbsp;He was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Hinton, Iowa having served on Church Boards as well as being on the Dart Ball Team. &nbsp;Tom served on the Farm Bureau Board of Plymouth County for eight years. &nbsp;He was a longtime Green Bay Packer fan and also loved to fish, dance the polka with Sylvia, golf, play cards (especially Euchre and Pitch) and spend time with family and friends. Tom moved to Hiawatha, KS, in 2018 to be close to his daughter. He loved seeing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. &nbsp;

Tom is survived by his daughter, Virginia (Bob) Freese of Hiawatha, Kansas; son, Monte (Madonna) Hansen of Sioux City, Iowa; four grandchildren: Katie (Matthew) Glasnapp, Spencer (Stephanie) Hansen, Abby (Jeff) Tanking, and Breann Hansen (Jackson Lambert); six great-grandchildren: Mark, Kane and Lucy Tanking, Ella and Zoey Glasnapp, and Nashtyn Hansen; along with several nieces and nephews. &nbsp;

Annamarie S. Hunziger 1944 - 2024

Thomas Nelson Moser was born on October 2, 1957 near Fortescue, Missouri. He was the son of Thomas N. and Grace M. (Steele) Moser.

Tom spent his early years living near Fortescue and later in the Kansas City area.&nbsp;He graduated from Craig High School in Craig, Missouri

Tom worked for a farmer early in his life. For the majority of his working life he was a truck driver. Tom&nbsp;retired when he was 62.

Tom passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at a hospital in Overland Park, Kansas at the age of 66.

He was preceded in death by both his parents and infant brother, Charles.

Survivors include his siblings and their spouses, Virginia Moser and Kevin Nolte, Falls City, Nebraska, Tammy and David Stroud, Mound City, Missouri, Bobbi and Brad Burton, Shawnee, Kansas, Jonathan Moser, Lenexa, Kansas, and Tom's daughter Lisa Moser, Independence, Missouri.

Tom enjoyed fishing, gardening, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs.
