Sarah Whitney Downing 34, of Atchison, Kansas, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023 in an Atchison, KS health care center. She was born May 30, 1988 in Atchison, Kansas, daughter of Terri &amp; Harold Downing. 

graduated from Atchison High School, Class of 2006. She was a member of the Black Student Union at Benedictine University, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting &amp; Finance. She worked at WalMart as an Associate, and she enjoyed spending time with her kids.&nbsp;

Sarah was preceded in death by her father, Harold Downing, and brother, Emerson Downing.&nbsp;

She is survived by mother, Terri (Loren "Scott") Tacy, Atchison, KS, sons, Jayden Downing and Dominic Fults, daughter, Ayianna Downing, sister, Breana Downing of Atchison, KS, grandmother, Carolyn Tacy, and fiancé, DeAndre Turner-Fults.&nbsp;

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm on Friday at the First Christian Church-301 N 7th, Atchison, with funeral services following at 2:00 pm. Internment will be at Mount Vernon Cemetery - Atchison, Kansas, following the funeral service.

Sondra worked for National Plastics and later owned and operated Sondra’s Beauty Salon.

She had many hobbies which included ceramics, crocheting, scrapbooking, and stained glass. She loved making candy and keeping flower gardens around her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Gene and daughter, Janet Lake.

MAYETTA – Norma C. Luebbe, 68, of rural Mayetta, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at her home.

She was born December 31, 1954 in Topeka, the daughter of Howard and Florence Feik Ritchey. She graduated from Topeka West High School in 1972.

Norma was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Topeka.

She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse.

She married Charles J. Luebbe on June 1, 1991 in Topeka. He survives, of the home.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Howard, Jr. and a sister, Sally.

Other survivors include a son, Shane Wettengel (Julie) and a daughter, Erica Fuchs (Bruce), all of Topeka, two brothers, Frank and Floyd, both of Topeka, three sisters, Linda, Barbara and Mary, all of Topeka, five grandchildren, Kyle, Emme, Shalah, Shawna and Jaylen, five great grandchildren, Clover, Archer, Adrian, Dayana and Juliana, and four step-great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Addyson, Justin and Jordan.&nbsp;

No services are planned. Inurnment will be later in the Mayetta Cemetery.&nbsp;

Ann Marie Harris, 75, of Dearborn, Missouri passed away Tuesday, April 25th, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri.

Ann was born May 10th, 1947, in Lisle, Illinois to Joseph &amp; Helen Shimek. 

She worked for many years in Chicago, Illinois, for various financial institutions, which is where she met her husband, Mark L. Harris. Ann &amp; her daughter, Jenny moved to Weston, Missouri in 1983, to be with Mark. Ann was very active in many volunteer positions. She served on St. Luke’s Northland Hospital Auxiliary, Missouri Hospital Association, Parkville Women’s Clinic, and the Holy Trinity Catholic Church Women’s Guild. Ann devoted many hours to the Arts &amp; Environment Ministry at Holy Trinity. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Harris; parents, Joseph &amp; Helen Shimek; and her brother, Joseph Shimek. 

Ann is survived by her sister, Jan Kahl of Mendota, Illinois; her daughter, Jenny (Dave) Marsh; grandchildren; Joseph &amp; Emma Marsh, all of Platte City, Missouri; sister-in-law, Linda Shimek; niece, Stacy (Royce) Harmon of Franklin, Indiana; and her mother-in-law, Harriet Harris, of North Kansas City.

Ed Zion, 76, Bolckow, Missouri; passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023.

Ed was born on February 5, 1947 in St. Joseph, Missouri to the late Howard Wilson and Blanche Mildred (Wright) Zion. He was raised in Fillmore, Missouri and graduated from North Andrew R-VI High School.&nbsp;

Ed was known as “the handy-man” and was never found without a set of tools. He was a mechanic, and owned and operated Ed’s DX Service in Rosendale, Missouri from 1960’s-1980’s. He later worked at the Andrew County School District as a bus driver and mechanic.&nbsp;

Ed was a member of Rea Union Church, the Rosedale Fire Department, the Rosendale Lions Club and was an active member of the NRA. His favorite past times were staying busy working on things and farming.

Ed married Ruth Ann Townsend on April 5, 1968, and recently celebrated fifty-five years of marriage.&nbsp;

Ed is survived by his wife, Ruth; son, Robert “Flip” Zion (Beth); daughter, Lisa Bacon (Randall); seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and brother, Melvin Zion (Sue).

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his son, Melvin Dean Zion and daughter, Kathy Lynn Zion.

Maryln Kay Roan, 74, of Edgerton, MO went home to the Lord on 4/27/2023.

She was born to Virgil and Helen (Ray) Roach on August 2, 1948 in Grant City, MO.In June 1966, she married Larry Brown. To this union two daughters were born. They later divorced.

In October 1996, she married Richard Roan, and gained two step-daughters. He survives in the home.

She worked her entire career in the financial industry, beginning in 1966 with First Trust Bank, St. Joseph, MO and retiring from CoreFirst Bank, Topeka, KS in 2010. She served many banking organizations throughout her career and enjoyed working with and teaching others in the industry.&nbsp;

She enjoyed crocheting, traveling with her husband, cooking for neighbors/friends, and most of all, her grandchildren. They were her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Survivors include: sisters, Judy Herndon (Chuck), Stewartsville, MO; Ramona Fry, Apache Junction, AZ; Leta Thompson, Atlantic, IA; daughters, Melanie Wickam (Anthony), St. Joseph, MO, and Marcie Toombs (Joel), Platte City, MO; step-daughters, Cassie Roan, Olathe, KS and Lesley Newton (Robert), Lawrence, KS. Charles Glenn Barnett of Savannah died April 27, 2023 at LaVerna Senior Living, Savannah, MO.

Glenn was born on November 16, 1939 to Johney and Thelma Fletchall. He was a 1958 graduate of Skidmore High School and proceeded to drive trucks for 33 ½ years.

On February 25, 1962 he married Shirley Cromer. They had two daughters: Darla (Thomas) Jung and Ann (Rich) Aubrey. He enjoyed the grandchildren: Matthew Eis, Christopher Jung and Jada Jung, all of St. Joseph.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother Johnny; sisters Fern Jones and Betty Hitchcock, Doris Carmichael, and Kathryn Miller; and a brother, Reverend Don Barnett.

Surviving Glenn are his wife of 61 years, daughters and sons-in-law, grandchildren, a sister Marilyn Harvill, Lincoln, Nebraska, and his nieces and nephews.

Glenn was an avid amateur radio “buff” and had enjoyed helping with the lost child network at Trails West!.

Funeral service 11:00 AM, Tuesday May 2, 2023 at the Savannah United Methodist Church, Visitation; 1 hour prior to the service. Interment; Bennett Lane Cemetery.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elwood, KS. She also was a member of the NAACP. She was a private lady and was very independent and a strong woman. She like to shop and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Gray and Brian Gray; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence H. Gray, Sr; son Clarence H. Gray, Jr.; and three siblings.

Edward Bott, Jr., 89, Leavenworth, Kansas, died Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Lansing Care &amp; Rehab, in Lansing, Kansas. The family is very grateful for the care provided by the nursing home and by Harbor Hospice.&nbsp;

Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church, Leavenworth, KS, with interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Easton, KS. A parish rosary will be recited Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. with visitation to follow until time of service at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Benedict’s Abbey and may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.

Edward was born January 17, 1934, in Leavenworth, Kansas, the son of Edward J. and Anna Marie (Fink) Bott. He attended Bell School and later graduated from Immaculata High School.&nbsp;

Beverly L. Widner (Whitmore), age 84, passed away peacefully with family, April 27, 2023.

Born in Saint Joseph, Missouri on February 19, 1939, she was a graduate of Central High School. She was office manager of Saint Joseph Gastro-enterology, (Dr. Orlyn Lockard, Jr.), from 1982 until retiring in 1999.&nbsp;

She felt her proudest achievements were that of being a loving wife and devoted Mother of four beautiful children, Grandmother of six and Great Grandmother of three. She was PTA President of Hall School for 2 years and first PTA President of Truman Middle School. She was a girl scout leader, boy scout leader and Den Mother. She did volunteer work at the Public Library, Noyes Home and Cancer Society. Beverly was a member of First Baptist Church of Savannah.

Beverly is preceded in death by her best friend and beloved husband of 41 years, J. Dee Widner, her infant son Benjamin Jay Widner, her precious daughter, Candise Annette Widner, beloved son, Timothy Scott Widner, and grandson Matthew Widner.

She is survived by her loving and remarkable daughter Allison Lewis and her husband Marc, who she considered a son. Also surviving her are six grandchildren, Amanda Poggioli (David), Jayson Widner, (Tammy), Adam J Lauer (Megan), Shawn Rider (Kalie), Ryan Rider (Michaela), Quadyn Widner, and several great grandchildren.&nbsp;&nbsp;Also surviving are a sister, Cheryl Martin and three brothers: Chuck and Wayland Whitmore of Oklahoma and Lynn Whitmore of Englewood, Florida, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She retired from Silgan Containers after 29 years, where she worked as a traffic controller and clerk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Josephine.

Survivors include her sister, Barbara Dalrymple; and nieces, Jamie McMillion (Neil) and Kristie Thompson (Jeff).

James Edward Dunkin was born to Edward I. Dunkin &amp; Lula Mae Pollock on June 9, 1940, in Fulton, Callaway, Missouri. His family moved to St. Joseph during his early years, and they moved to Mexico, Missouri about 1948. In 1958, they moved to Kansas City, Missouri and he graduated from Central High School.

Jim was an avid model airplane enthusiast. He began his modeling career at the age of 11 by building an Ace Whitman rubber stick model. Then about 1957 he learned of FAI team race. In 1967, Jim and his partner, Bill Wright, qualified for and competed on the 1968 team. They flew for another 8 years and competed on the 1970, 1972, and 1976 US teams. Those international trips provided many contacts and more knowledge of the team-race engines and thus his collection of 2.5cc size engines began. Jim kept data on the engines and in 2011 published a book on that size engine named International Reference Book of .15 CI/2.5 cc of Model Airplane Engines. He also researched and wrote a biography of Walter H. Righter named Dennymites, Drones, &amp; More (2008).

He married Sally Anne Batz on February 12, 1977. They settled in Blue Springs in 1980 after designing and building an earth-covered house. He has four stepchildren, Thomas K. Batz, Timothy J. Batz, Patricia L. Sedge and the late Wilma Marie Lombardo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Doris Van Wormer.

He worked for the MODOT Highway department for over 35 years. Jim earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Degree from the University of Missouri in 1988. In 1993, he was promoted to Resident Engineer, and later retired in 1998.

He became a Catholic in 1999 and was a member of St. Robert’s Parish and the Knights of Columbus.

Lindell Carroll Cox, 84, of Trimble, MO, formerly of Edgerton, MO passed away April 27, 2023.

He was born on August 31, 1938, to Robert D. and Elma (Dodson) Cox in Carthage, MO. On February 16, 1963, he was united in marriage to Betty Irene Hodge. After their marriage they lived in Edgerton where they made their home. After their retirement they moved to Salida, Colorado and in 2015 they moved back to Trimble.&nbsp;

Carroll retired from TWA. He was a member of the Edgerton Methodist Church. Carroll was active in Boys Scouts and belonged to several antique tractor pulling clubs. He enjoyed collecting antiques and working on anything with wheels.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Linda Sharon Kuhl.

Carroll is survived by his wife Betty Cox; sons Robert Cox and Tom Cox and wife Amy; grandchildren Mackenzie, Haylee, and Dylan; other relatives and many friends.&nbsp;

A celebration of life service will held at a later date.

Nola G. Patterson was born on April 2, 1918, in Glen Elder, KS, the daughter of Daily H. and Martha Alice Grace (Wallace) Patterson. She graduated from Glen Elder High School and attended Venus Academy of Beauty Culture cosmetology and beautician school. Nola owned and operated the Clark’s Beauty Shop, Wichita, KS and also the Clark’s Uniform Store, Wichita, KS and the former Clark’s Uniform Store, Atchison, KS. During World War II she worked for Boeing and helped build gliders for the war. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, Wichita KS, and enjoyed travel &amp; camping with a Camping Club. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, playing golf and billiards. She moved to Atchison when she was 101 years old.

Nola was married twice, first to Robert “Bob” Clark, he preceded her in death in the 1960’s. She was later married to Walter Campbell, and he also preceded her in death in 2013. 

Survivors include two nieces including Alice Murray, Atchison, a step-daughter-in-law, Cathy Woo, Wichita, KS, and two step grandchildren, Patrick and Chris Woo, a niece, Winnie Weber of Beloit, KS.

Her parents, a brother George Patterson, and three sisters, Reba Kadel, Annace Fulton, and Florence Thomas, nieces Agnes Leahy, Janice Hallaq and Francis Oetting also preceded her in death.

Altamont, Missouri…Thelma May Assel, age 82, passed away peacefully at Cameron Regional Hospital on April 23, 2023. She was born August 22, 1940, to Macy M. Palmer and Alice J.(Moulin) Palmer in rural Daviess County.

On August 25, 1958, she was united in marriage to Ronald F. Assel. Together, they had two children, son, Ronald F. Assel, Jr. and daughter, Linda M. Rossiter. Thelma loved spending time with her family and was so proud of her grandchildren. She was looking forward to being a great-grandmother this September. She loved being a farm wife, helping her husband and son out with cattle and running a tractor in the fields or hauling grain to town. She also loved to garden and make quilts for her family.

Thelma is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Ronald D. Palmer, and half-sister, Betty Cox.

She is survived by her son, Ronald F. Assel, Jr., daughter, Linda M. Rossiter (Larry), grandchildren, Macy Rhea (Eli), Theron Rossiter (Kayla Demcewolf), and Calvin Rossiter (Courtney Dotson), sister-in-law, Vida Williams (Kenneth), numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Thelma’s wishes were to be cremated. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Hopewell Cemetery under the direction of Turner Family Funeral Home.

Betty Sue Bilderback, 86, died Wednesday April 26, 2023 at her home where she lovingly raised her family for over 55 years. She was born July 11, 1936 in Prague, Oklahoma, to James R. and Flossie (Ernst) Duncan.

She attended school in Atchison graduating in 1954. On March 4, 1955, she married Charles N. Bilderback. He proceeded her in death on August 8, 2010.

Betty loved taking care of her family, cooking, collecting Elvis’s memorabilia and bowling. She used her cooking talents to work for a few years at the Cookie Parlor and Haderway House Tea Room. You could often hear her retell about her trips to Las Vegas to see Elvis and Hawaii.

She is survived by her two daughters, Cindy Kloepper (Brian McKee) and Cheryl (Bob) Vanwey; her two sons, Rick (Bev) Bilderback and Steve Bilderback; all of Atchison; 11 grandchildren, Stacy (Andy) Caudle, Heather (Joel) Crossland, Dusty Kloepper, Kevin Vanwey, Sara Vanwey, Dylan Vanwey, Jesse (Brandi) Bilderback, Brooke Bilderback, Emma Pak, Lexi Bilderback, and Gage Bilderback; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; her sisters, Glenda Bottorff, Lancaster, Loretta Sage, Topeka; sister-in-law Betty Pruett, Atchison.

Betty Sue Bilderback 1936 - 2023

Frederick Hysten Sr. 83, passed away at his home in Atchison, Kansas on Tuesday April 25th, 2023. Fred was born on July 10th, 1939 to Clem and Jean (Boydston) Hysten. He was the oldest of fifteen children.

Funeral service will be Saturday&nbsp;May 6, 2023, at 12 Noon at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11:00 AM before the service.

Frederick enlisted in the Army in the United States Military when he was 18. He later earned a welding certificate at Vo-tech Vocational College in Atchison, Kansas. He worked thirty-three years as a welder at Rockwell International missing only three days of work.

He met his wife Geraldine in 1965. They had three children together. They were very active in their church. Fred was a dedicated deacon and Sunday school teacher of All Nations Pentacostal Church in Atchison.

Some of Frederick’s hobbies included wood working of all sorts, he enjoyed watching Kansas Jayhawk basketball and the Kansas City Chiefs football team play. After his retirement he began to work for the Atchison Daily Globe. His duties included picking the papers up in St. Joseph, Missouri, and distributing them around the surrounding Atchison area. Frederick worked for the globe for 21 years.

He re-married Teresa Brant Jackson in April of 1997. She currently resides in their home in Atchison. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Fred was a great son, father, brother, husband, and friend to all. Frederick Hysten Sr. 83, passed away at his home in Atchison, Kansas on Tuesday April 25th, 2023. Fred was born on July 10th, 1939 to Clem and Jean (Boydston) Hysten. He was the oldest of fifteen children.Funeral service will be Saturday&nbsp;May 6, 2023, at 12 Noon at Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11:00 AM before the service.Frederick enlisted in the Army in the United States Military when he was 18. He later earned a welding certificate at Vo-tech Vocational College in Atchison, Kansas. He worked thirty-three years as a welder at Rockwell International missing only three days of work.He met his wife Geraldine in 1965. They had three children together. They were very active in their church. Fred was a dedicated deacon and Sunday school teacher of All Nations Pentacostal Church in Atchison.Some of Frederick’s hobbies included wood working of all sorts, he enjoyed watching Kansas Jayhawk basketball and the Kansas City Chiefs football team play. Justin Wilson, 36, of Smithville, MO passed away, April 23, 2023.

He was born on December 30, 1986 to James Lee and Trona L. (Jensen) Wilson in North Kansas City, MO. He grew up in Smithville and graduated from Smithville High School. Justin Wilson 1986 - 2023

Theodore Garrison Robinson, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023, surrounded by his children.

(Ted) graduated from Maryville High in 1953; attended the University of Missouri – Columbia for 2 years, graduated from Northwest Missouri College (now NWMSU) with a degree in business administration and met Ann, the love of his life. Ted served a 2-year tour with the Army in Germany. He began his banking career at City National Bank, working in the transit department. In 1961, Ted and Ann were married and moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he accepted a job as a regional bank examiner for the United States Comptroller of Currency, U.S. Department, Kansas City.

Ted’s first job in banking was working for his uncles at Nodaway Valley Bank (NVB) at age 10 cancelling checks and posting envelopes. Upon the death of his uncle, Chilton Robinson, President of NVB, in 1964, Ted and Ann moved to Maryville so he could assume his role as Vice President in the bank. He was elected President of NVB on September 7, 1977, and served in that role until 1995, when he was named CEO/Chairman of the Board. He resigned his duties of CEO in 2005 but remained Chairman of the Board until his resignation in 2015. He served as Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors of NVB Bancshares from 2015 until his death. He served NVB and his family for almost 60 years. Ted ushered the bank into the computer era and continued to improve and grow the bank throughout his many years of service. Turning the reign over to his son, James in 2004, was his proudest professional moment.

Ted was a steady booster of Maryville’s courthouse square and lent his quiet support to civic improvement projects over the years as well as serving on the Board of Regents at NWMSU. He maintained an active interest in community affairs for the betterment of Maryville and Nodaway County.

It goes unsaid that NWMSU football has lost their biggest fan. Ted loved his Bearcats and helped in various ways to support the football team, its coaches, and some players throughout the years. He had an undying love for the game of golf, serving as President of the Maryville Country club. He had a lifelong passion for the St. Louis Cardinals, and cherished the memories of traveling to many parts of the world with his wife, Ann.

The family would like to thank Dr. Davin Turner for caring for their father through the end and for being his great friend. As well as everyone at Living Community and Freudenthal Hospice who cared for him.

Ted was preceded in death by his father and mother, two sisters, his wife of 47 years, Ann Cowan Robinson, and his faithful dog Sophie.

He leaves behind his daughters, Jennie (Dan) Robinson Sommers and Susan Robinson (Kyle Hill) and his son James (Andrea) Garrison Robinson, as well as six grandchildren: Daniel Robinson Sommers, Harrison Robinson Sommers, Theodore Robinson Sommers, Elizabeth Ann Robinson, James Mitchell Robinson, and George Robinson Sommers.

A Celebration of Life will be held on the NWMSU Campus at the Hughes Fieldhouse, Sunday at 2:00 P.M.

George Edward Keesaman (affectionately known as Judge) age 74, passed away peacefully at home Friday, April 21st, 2023. He was born October 1st, 1948, to Charlie and Ella Keesaman and had a happy childhood exploring the woods around his hometown Osborn MO. As a young man he served his country in the Navy. 

After living many years in California, he returned home to Missouri and found work at WMCC as a maintenance technician till he retired. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, and friends but most of all his grand kids.

George is survived by his wife, Peggy of the home and preceded in death by his parents and sister Leona. There will be a celebration of life to be determined later. In leu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be made to: Three Rivers Hospice, Cameron office.

George 'Judge' Edward Keesaman 1948 - 2023

Charles B. Larson, 91, of Country Club Village, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023, at his home, surrounded by family. He was born January 25, 1932, in St. Joseph, son of the late Charles and Agnes (Barry) Larson.

Charles lived a life full of adventures personally and professionally. From a young age he chose not to be a common man but to excel in whatever he chose to do. In 1946 he earned his Eagle Scout and was tapped into the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He graduated from Central High School in 1949, with a group of friends that like to call themselves the Central Legends. He completed his formal education with a degree in accounting from the University of Illinois, where he was a proud member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Charles served in the United States Army in Japan during the Korean occupation.

He began his professional career as a Certified Public Accountant with Arthur Andersen &amp; Company in Kansas City. A few years later he formed Larson &amp; Morriss &amp; Co., in St. Joseph, which under his leadership grew to become one of the largest accounting firms in Missouri at the time. While many may have found the accounting industry boring, Charlie’s entrepreneurial spirit never rested, and he left his fingerprints all over the world of accounting. He founded the Missouri MAP Conference, Heartland of America Tax Conference and the Accounting and Auditing Conference. He was the Chairman of Missouri Accountancy Act 1967, Director of Missouri University School of Accountancy and President of Missouri Society of CPA’s. Charles reach expanded beyond Missouri as a member of the Council of the American Institute of CPA’s and a founder of AmerInst Insurance Company. Of the many accolades he received over the years a couple he was most proud of were being repeatedly named 100 most influential CPAs in the US and being named to the Who’s Who in American Finance. He also authored many books and articles for the profession.

Charles was equally active in his hometown of St. Joseph. He founded and was President of St. Joseph Bantam Football for 27 years, bringing youth football to thousands of boys in St. Joseph. He founded and was President of Junior Achievement in St. Joseph. He served as Treasurer of St. Joseph College Association (that effected the transformation to Missouri Western State College). He also spent several decades serving his neighbors as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Village of Country Club.

His adventures led him to explore every state in the US and many different countries and continents. Whether strolling the Great Wall of China, touring the River Market in Bangkok or celebrating May Day in Red Square (Russia). He always enjoyed exploring. He also enjoyed being active in numerous sports and activities including flying, boating, basketball, swimming, scuba diving and golf. In fact, he participated in the 5K open water swim race in the World Master’s Championship.

Charles is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Lou of the home. Sons, Gregg, St. Joseph and Joe (Peggy) Lloyd Harbor, NY. Daughters, Jenny (Greg), Manchester, MI and Sarah, Parkville, Mo. He is also survived by his grandchildren – Chase, Bridget, Anna, Margaret, Lily, Nicholas, Zach, Matthew, Mark, Joshua and Jacob. Niece - Megan (Larson) Schwimmer.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and brother Keith Larson.
