Beverly L. Widner (Whitmore), age 84, passed away peacefully with family, April 27, 2023.
Born in Saint Joseph, Missouri on February 19, 1939, she was a graduate of Central High School. She was office manager of Saint Joseph Gastro-enterology, (Dr. Orlyn Lockard, Jr.), from 1982 until retiring in 1999.
She felt her proudest achievements were that of being a loving wife and devoted Mother of four beautiful children, Grandmother of six and Great Grandmother of three. She was PTA President of Hall School for 2 years and first PTA President of Truman Middle School. She was a girl scout leader, boy scout leader and Den Mother. She did volunteer work at the Public Library, Noyes Home and Cancer Society. Beverly was a member of First Baptist Church of Savannah.
Beverly is preceded in death by her best friend and beloved husband of 41 years, J. Dee Widner, her infant son Benjamin Jay Widner, her precious daughter, Candise Annette Widner, beloved son, Timothy Scott Widner, and grandson Matthew Widner.
She is survived by her loving and remarkable daughter Allison Lewis and her husband Marc, who she considered a son. Also surviving her are six grandchildren, Amanda Poggioli (David), Jayson Widner, (Tammy), Adam J Lauer (Megan), Shawn Rider (Kalie), Ryan Rider (Michaela), Quadyn Widner, and several great grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Cheryl Martin and three brothers: Chuck and Wayland Whitmore of Oklahoma and Lynn Whitmore of Englewood, Florida, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Monday, May 1st at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel followed by a memorial service. Graveside committal 1:00 PM Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Beverly asks everyone to give to the Salvation Army or Noyes home in memory of her.
