Nola Grace Campbell, 105 years old, formerly of Wichita, KS died on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the Vintage Park Assisted Living Center, Atchison, KS.
Graveside services and burial of cremated remains will be scheduled at a later date in the Resthaven Cemetery, Wichita, KS. Memorials are suggested to St. Croix Hospice or the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with whom cremation care has been entrusted.
Nola G. Patterson was born on April 2, 1918, in Glen Elder, KS, the daughter of Daily H. and Martha Alice Grace (Wallace) Patterson. She graduated from Glen Elder High School and attended Venus Academy of Beauty Culture cosmetology and beautician school. Nola owned and operated the Clark’s Beauty Shop, Wichita, KS and also the Clark’s Uniform Store, Wichita, KS and the former Clark’s Uniform Store, Atchison, KS. During World War II she worked for Boeing and helped build gliders for the war. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, Wichita KS, and enjoyed travel & camping with a Camping Club. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, playing golf and billiards. She moved to Atchison when she was 101 years old.
Nola was married twice, first to Robert “Bob” Clark, he preceded her in death in the 1960’s. She was later married to Walter Campbell, and he also preceded her in death in 2013.
Survivors include two nieces including Alice Murray, Atchison, a step-daughter-in-law, Cathy Woo, Wichita, KS, and two step grandchildren, Patrick and Chris Woo, a niece, Winnie Weber of Beloit, KS.
Her parents, a brother George Patterson, and three sisters, Reba Kadel, Annace Fulton, and Florence Thomas, nieces Agnes Leahy, Janice Hallaq and Francis Oetting also preceded her in death.
