Billie Jean (Kirby) Gray, 92 of St. Joseph, passed away April 27, 2023. Billie was born January 12, 1931.
Prior to retirement she had various jobs and retired from the mailroom at Missouri Western State University.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elwood, KS. She also was a member of the NAACP. She was a private lady and was very independent and a strong woman. She like to shop and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Gray and Brian Gray; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence H. Gray, Sr; son Clarence H. Gray, Jr.; and three siblings.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Elwood, KS. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour preceding the funeral at the church.
