Teresa K. Anderson, 69 of St. Joseph, MO went to be with her Savior on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Living Community in St. Joseph. Teresa was born in Jameson, MO on September 4, 1955 to Dale &amp; Frances (Richards) Alexander. She was married to Mike Anderson in St. Joseph on April 29th, 1991 and he preceded her in death.&nbsp;

Teresa was a loving and generous soul. Her passion for nursing goes back as far as 5th grade when she knew she was called to be a nurse. Even after retirement from the hospital she continued to help others. Teresa has always been willing to lend a helping hand to her family, her friends, and her church. She opened her home weekly to be a gathering space for women to read and study the Bible together and build community. This inspired others to open their homes for the same reasons. Teresa will be remembered for her generosity, her love, and her determination to do what she believed was right.

Survivors include her daughter, Megan (Brock) Langley of Anchorage, AK; sisters, Kathy Alexander of St. Joseph, Patty (Bob) Adkison of Jameson, MO, and Suzy (Kenney) Whitney of Branson, MO. &nbsp;She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Lisa Gann.

Visitation with family will be 5:00pm-7:00pm Monday, September 23rd, 2024 at Green Valley Baptist Church in St. Joseph.&nbsp;

 Cynthia was a loving mother, grandma and great grandma who was a housewife and a wonderful painter who loved watching Law and Order and game shows. Cynthia was a Jehovah's Witness, and was very involved in her church. 

Cynthia was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Dwight Hornbeck before he passed away in 1997, and her parents. 

She is survived by daughters, Jo Ann (Darren) Myers, and Pamela (Tony) Hoffman, brother, Steven (Betty) Allen, sister, Donna (Keith) Herbst, six grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. 

She will be cremated under the care of the Rupp Funeral Home.

Timothy Dean Nelson, Sr., 64, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, September 16, 2024.

He was born September 26, 1959 in St. Joseph to Jerry and Jean (Christie) Nelson.

Timothy, known as “Bird Dog” to his high school friends, married Kelly McDonell on September 15, 1978. They later divorced but remained friends. Timothy married Joanne Doolan on April 25, 2006.

He was a mechanic most of his life, loved working on automobiles of all makes and models, working on his own and at various auto parts stores throughout the years. He just loved being around anything having to do with cars and trucks, and loved talking shop with like-minded individuals.

Timothy loved fishing trips to Minnesota with his Grandparents, Helen and Walter, during his youth. He also enjoyed working on cars and loved spending time with his kids, grandkids and pets. Movie watching was also a favorite of his!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Nelson and Jean Grimes; his stepfather, Harold Grimes, Sr.; his Grandparents, Walter and Helen Christie; and his brother, Harold Grimes, Jr.

Survivors include his first wife Kelly Metcalf and their children, Timothy D. Nelson, Jr., Mandy James, and Robert Nelson; their grandchildren, Preston Nelson, Travion Nelson, and Matthew Nelson; three great-grandchildren; his second wife, Joanne Nelson and her children, Ashley Liechti-Knight (Irvin), Brett Liechti (Sarah), and Jennifer Nappe; five step-grandchildren; brother, Carl Grimes; nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends; his beloved dogs, Susie and Jack; and his beloved cat, Lucky.

Stanley Bruce Tietjens, aged 78 of rural Robinson, KS, peacefully passed away on September 17, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. Born on August 15, 1946, Stanley was known for his hardworking and generous nature. He took pride in always leaving things better than he found them.

A lifelong farmer in Brown County, Stanley dedicated 37 years to the Robinson Fire Department and with his brother Dennis, was renowned for their years of soil conservation work. Countless miles of drainage tile and dirt work have improved agriculture in the area thanks to their hard work. He loved nature, trees, and watching things grow. With his wife Sharon, he enjoyed traveling the country. Some of his favorite trips were to New York City where they enjoyed “people watching.” He always put needs of others ahead of his own, never complaining.&nbsp;

Stanley is survived by his wife, Sharon; stepdaughters, Kelli Holthaus and her husband Roger, and Misty Collins and her husband Matthew; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis Tietjens and his wife Wanda, and Terry Tietjens, Clint Tietjens; nephew, Matt Tietjens and his wife Roni, their boys Luke and Will; a niece, Patricia English, her husband Hank, their son Jack. 

He was preceded in death by his brother Jerry Tietjens and parents, William and Estella Tietjens.

A private family service will be held to honor Stanley's life at Rose Hill Cemetery, Robinson.

Wanda was born on August 31, 1929, in Bennington, Kansas to Enos Jack and Margaret Ruth (Lockhart) Garren.

She was a housewife and a member of the Troy Christian Church, Troy, Kansas. Wanda married Thomas William “Bill” Simmons on July 18, 1940, in Troy, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2023. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jack Garren and grandson, Jay Michael Simmons.

Dale Fryman, 69, passed away September 14, 2024. Dale was born July 11, 1955 to Hershel and Virginia Fryman. 

He graduated from Leavenworth&nbsp;High School in 1974 and enlisted in the US Army in 1976, where he served in several duty&nbsp;stations until 1982. He married Elizabeth VanDruff on June 7, 1985. In 2021, Dale retired from&nbsp;the Leavenworth County Road District after 20 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother David, grandsons Maverick and Jacob&nbsp;Simpson, and Elizabeth's parents Grover and Betty Vandruff. 

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Fryman of the home, his children Donald (Rebecca)&nbsp;Richeson of Excelsior Springs MO, Charles Richeson of Topeka KS, Brenda (Scott) Simpson of&nbsp;Leavenworth KS, and Theigha Cooperider-Fryman of Boring OR., 8 grandchildren and 8 great-&nbsp;grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings Lawrence Jr., Thomas, Larry and Lisa Wright, all of&nbsp;Leavenworth.

Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Chapel, 6th and Shawnee, Leavenworth, KS on Tuesday,&nbsp;September 24, 2024 at 10:00am, followed by funeral services at 12:00pm. Interment will take&nbsp;place at Leavenworth National Cemetery at 1:30pm.

It is with deep sorrow that that we announce the passing of Pam Laboi, a beloved mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and cherished friend to many, who left us on 9/16/24 at the age of 70.

Born to Mary Lou and John Edward Lottman, she was devoted to her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jeffrey Laboi, her loving father, John Edward Lottman, and her cherished nephew, Ryan Hoover whose memories she held close to her heart. Each loss weighed heavily on her heart, yet she continued to fill the world around her with support and courage.

An avid lover of antiques and crafts, Pam was known for her exquisite taste and knack for finding beauty in things of the past. Her home was filled with the pieces she collected, just as her life was filled with the stories of the people she loved.

Pam is survived by her loving daughter Jaclyn Laboi of Smithville, who brought her immense joy. She also leaves behind her dedicated mother, Mary Lou Lottman of Raytown, and her devoted sister, Linda Hoover (Rick) of Belton, who was not just family but also her closest companion. Pam’s legacy will continue through her family and many cousins as well as a multitude of cherished friends, all of whom were touched by her kindness. A private inurnment will be held at a date to be announced, allowing family and close friends to celebrate a life well-lived.

Gwenevera Arlene Wilkinson Massey, 90, passed away Sunday morning, September 15, 2024, in St. Joseph, surrounded by her family. A St. Joseph native, she attended Bartlett High School in St. Joseph. After getting married, she worked in factories and later did housework while raising her family. &nbsp;Supporting her children and grandchildren in school and activities was something she loved doing. She loved telling hilarious stories about her family and was dedicated to them. Ms. Massey was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Her parents Ira and Dycie Wilkinson, siblings Ira Jr, Lora, Sherman Sr, Omeaul, Cora Jean, Donald, Bethel, Wanda, Gayle, and Alec Wilkinson preceded her in death.

In celebration of her homegoing, she leaves her children, Victoria (Leon), Marcus (Marcella), Stephanie (Tyrone), Eric (Shirl), Jennifer (Jerome), Keith, Lisa (Harold), 16 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Massey will be held Friday, September 20th, 1:00p.m. at Emmanuel Seventh Day Adventist Church, the family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday September 19th at the church, Interment Belmont Cemetery Wathena, Kansas. William Bingo Dickerson was born on September 11, 1955, in Leavenworth, Kansas, to James and Wanda Dickerson. Being born on his mother’s birthday, it was always known that his birth was indeed a gift not only to his mother, but to everyone who met him.

 Bingo graduated from Leavenworth Senior High School, and although he lived in other cities, he spent most of his life in Leavenworth, close to his parents, siblings, children, relatives, and friends. Bingo attended Kansas City Community College to be a funeral director, but if you know Bingo, you know that his true passion was being behind a camera, capturing memories of beloved family and friends. Heaven forbid that he miss a moment, so he captured thousands of photos and hours of footage from family gatherings, Sunday services, initial sermons of new ministers, and wedding ceremonies. 

To ensure he never missed a beat, he would often put his children, Sammie and William, behind the camera in his absence. It wasn’t just his camera work that distinguished him in a crowd. Bingo was a lifelong member of Sunflower Missionary Baptist Church in Leavenworth, Kansas, and it was his dedication to God that made him most notable. All over the great state of Kansas, Bingo was known by almost every Baptist congregation. He attended numerous state and national Baptist conventions. He also loved attending Wednesday morning bible study at Independent Baptist Church, with his young grandchildren in tow. Bingo also loved his Wednesday studies with his Sister-in-law Stephanie. 

Not only did people know him as a beloved friend and relative, but they also knew him as their usher. With a great big smile and maybe a joke, he LOVED directing you to your pew in the sanctuary. His faith in God was always a priority, and he ensured that this faith was instilled in his children as he raised them as a single parent. For many years he was a very active member of the Optimist club. He also served as the president of both the Sunflower and the Northeastern District usher board. For the last two years he was also the Northeastern District Layman President. 

There is no shortage of stories to be told about Bingo Dickerson, but no matter the story, it likely involves him holding a camera, eating, cracking a joke, or playing with kids. Most stories of Bingo include all the above. Speaking of children, Bingo loved kids dearly and in his later years in life, he was often seen with his grandkids and generations of his nieces and nephews. Much like his mother, he could be seen out and about with a van full of kids, as the unofficial director of “BINGO’S DAYCARE.“ &nbsp;&nbsp;Bingo lived a full life, smiling and laughing through most of it, showing off that gold tooth. Bingo was a cherished son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and Friend. 

On September 12, 2024, Bingo took his last breath, one day after spending his 69th birthday as a Patient at Overland Park Regional Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, James Dickerson Sr., his mother, Wanda Mae Dickerson, his brother, Durand Dickerson, (Stephanie) and his grandson, Elijah Smith. William Bingo Dickerson 1955 - 2024

David Groenke, 83, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, September 16, 2024.

He was born December 3, 1940 in St. Joseph to Lloyd and Inez (Hamm) Groenke. He was a graduate of Lafayette High School in 1958.

David married his high school sweetheart Helen Grant on December 16, 1961. She survives of the home.

After receiving training in sheet metal work, he was a sheet metal worker for over 40 years. He worked for many companies, spending most of his time at Seaman &amp; Schuske.

David enjoyed playing softball in his younger years, and golf for his whole life. He also was known to walk about 10 miles a day. He loved his sports teams: the Dolphins, Cardinals, Royals and Chiefs.

He liked to get together with his friends, who called him “Wooden Head!” There’s even a song about it. He was the center of attention wherever he went. David was a frequent patron of the Hi-Ho, where he would enjoy his good buddies, occasional game of pitch and brewski.

Most of all, David cherished his family and loved to spend time with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dwayne “Dink” Groenke; and nephew, Dave “Middle Dave” Groenke.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Helen; children, Debbie Groenke and David Lee Groenke, Jr.; grandchildren, Heather Elliott (Brett) and Indi Groenke; sister, Sharlene Stout; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his beloved dog, Dolly.

She married Gordon W. Wilson, Sr., on October 22, 1955, who survives her at the home they shared for 66 years.

She is survived by her children, Gordon Wilson, Jr. and Barbara Smith; grandchildren, Jeannie Knowles and Melissa Carstensen; and numerous great-grandchildren through great-great-great-grandchildren: Josh Smith, Shauna Smith, Richard Saunders, Kaitlyn Saunders, Kaleigh Saunders, Drake Stevenson, Trenton Marschel, Kyle Knowles, Brandon Knowles, Ryan Wilson, Brandon Wilson, Julie Robison, Hayden Wilson, Braxon Wilson, Brittany Wilson, Addalyn Robison, Brayden Larabee, Paisley Knowles, Lincoln Saunders, and Emberley Saunders.

Betty dedicated 24 years of service to the Stetson Hat Company. She continued to share her nurturing care by helping to raise her grandchildren, a role she cherished deeply. Betty's generous heart also extended to her community involvement; she was an active volunteer at Youth Alliance, where she touched many lives.

She had a love for animals that was as boundless as her heart. An avid card player, she also enjoyed collecting angel figurines and spending quality time with her wide circle of grandchildren. Known for her feisty nature, Betty was a woman with a dynamic spirit, quick to laugh and always ready to lend a hand or an ear.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, William and Nannie Gilmore; stepfather, Ivan Clark; sister, Mary Herod; brother, Billie Gilmore; half-brothers, Clayton and Mervin Gilmore; grandson, Michael Wilson; and a great-great-grandchild, Carter Smith.

Betty Lou Wilson 1939 - 2024

Marilyn Kay Vickery, 78, of Topeka, Kansas, formerly of Hiawatha, Kansas, passed unexpectedly due to a medical issue in the early morning of September 11, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving, devoted husband, and her four daughters and only son. &nbsp;

Marilyn was born September 28, 1945 in Hiawatha, Kansas to Ivan and Clara Hoar of Hiawatha, Kansas. Marilyn was a proud graduate of Hiawatha High School, Class of 1963. She was beloved by all and was nominated for Sweetheart Princess in high school. She was very engaged with the school reunions over the years. Marilyn also attended Highland Junior College in the fall of 1963, where she studied business.&nbsp;

While at Highland Junior College she met the love of her life, Roger Allen Vickery. They were married on June 5, 1965 in Hiawatha, Kansas. Shortly after, they moved to Topeka, Kansas, dodging the ominous tornado of 1966 that took their home and car. Marilyn and Roger set their roots in Topeka just the same, while Roger earned his Bachelor’s degree from Washburn University and later gained his Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist degree at P.A. School of Anesthesia. &nbsp;

Marilyn was all about family and found her passion serving her husband and children through family celebrations, home-baked favorites, and her warm and thoughtfully decorated home and colorful outdoor gardens. Marilyn enhanced her love of nature by arranging flowers in Porterfield’s Flower and Gift Studio and Dillon’s Flower Shop, all while raising their children together with Roger. When her kids were older, she found joy working with brides and families at Livingston’s Bridal.&nbsp;

In 1971, Marilyn and Roger moved to southeast Topeka and later built their dream home. Their home has become a beloved place for their many family celebrations, special cats (who often found her), pool parties and gatherings.&nbsp;

Marilyn was especially interested in her family’s Norwegian roots and she spent time gathering and documenting precious stories and unforgettable family legacy recipes. She strove to be present, positive and gracious to neighbors and to model her faith to everyone's lives she touched.&nbsp;

Marilyn was immersed in the lives of her three sisters and mother, and together they sought to reunite with her eldest daughter, Lori Ann Preston in 1986, uniting all of Marilyn’s five children. Her greatest hope was to see them grow, develop and deepen relationships with their families, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Undoubtedly, her most treasured joy was her eleven grandchildren and two great- grandchildren who fondly call her "Grammy.” &nbsp;

Marilyn was a model example of strength, tenacity and humility with unwavering faith in God and an exceedingly generous heart. She would bring lightheartedness with her warm hugs, natural smile and quick wit. She was the ultimate party planner and made every event and celebration special. She was a kind, loving, loyal wife, mother, sister, daughter, niece, grandmother and friend. She was filled with style, grace, love and unending service to her family, lifelong friends and her community.&nbsp;

Marilyn is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Roger Vickery; children, Lori Preston of Boulder, Colorado, Michelle Graff and her husband Stephen Graff of Topeka, Kansas, Melissa Rangel and her husband Marty Rangel of Lawrence, Kansas, daughter, Mandy Vickery of Topeka, Kansas, and son Ryan Vickery and his wife Lindsey (George) Vickery of Fairway, Kansas; grandchildren, Jordan , Noah, Riley and Emma Graff; Casey, Jeremy and Jayden Rangel; Emersyn, Clara and Carter Vickery, and Alexander Preston; great-grandchildren, Brexley and Colt; sister, Sandi Muhonen of Arizona, favorite 99-year-old aunt, June Cox of Belleville, Illinois, and many dearly loved cousins, nieces, and nephews. &nbsp;

Marilyn Kay Vickery 1945 - 2024

Thomas Nelson Moser was born on October 2, 1957 near Fortescue, Missouri. He was the son of Thomas N. and Grace M. (Steele) Moser.

Tom spent his early years living near Fortescue and later in the Kansas City area.&nbsp;He graduated from Craig High School in Craig, Missouri

Tom worked for a farmer early in his life. For the majority of his working life he was a truck driver. Tom&nbsp;retired when he was 62.

Tom passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at a hospital in Overland Park, Kansas at the age of 66.

He was preceded in death by both his parents and infant brother, Charles.

Thomas Nelson Moser was born on October 2, 1957 near Fortescue, Missouri. He was the son of Thomas N. and Grace M. (Steele) Moser.Tom spent his early years living near Fortescue and later in the Kansas City area.&nbsp;He graduated from Craig High School in Craig, MissouriTom worked for a farmer early in his life. For the majority of his working life he was a truck driver. David Edward Duncan, 87, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on September 12, 2024, at a local nursing home.

He was born December 22, 1936 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Donald and Margaruite (Zimmerman) Duncan. David married Rosanna Smith on February 26, 1961. He was a 1954 graduate of Lafayette High School and served in the United Sates Navy. David retired from the United States Postal service in 1992 after 25 years of service.

David had a passion for playing and coaching baseball, softball and golf. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he was the coach of their church league softball team for 10 years. David took great pride in playing with all three sons on the team together.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Survivors include sons, Douglas Duncan (Rhonda), Robert Duncan (Sandra), Scott Duncan (Christine); grandchildren, Drake Duncan, Baylor Duncan, James Fletcher II (Megan), Matthew Hines (Ryley), Amber Fletcher, Ashley Watson (Justin), Danielle Lilly and ten great-grandchildren; two nieces, Linda Barton (Mike) and Brenda Marriott (Chris).

Patricia L. (Black) Capps, 87, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away in her home surrounded by family on Monday, September 16, 2024.

She was born August 9, 1937 to Earl W. and Virginia R. (Everett) Black in Kansas City, Missouri.

Patricia married John E. “Jack” Capps on August 20, 1960 and they were married for 53 years before he passed away on July 21, 2014.

She was a teacher for 30 years. Throughout the years, she taught at Storm Lake Iowa, Benton High School, Neely Elementary School, and Lafayette High School.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of Missouri State Teacher Association and Home Economics Club.

Patricia played Marimba in high school and college band.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

He was born July 17, 1957 to Vincent H. and Clara B. (Hartman) Bibb in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Henry married Sandi J. Leeson on June 11, 1982.

He worked for Bartlow Electric for 7 years. In 1995, he joined the IBEW Local 545 in St. Joseph, Missouri and worked with R/S Electric until retiring July 2020.

Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and yardwork. He also loved spending time with his family. He liked helping his family do projects and being “Mr. Fix it”. He was a wonderful Husband, Dad and Papa.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents, Vincent and Clara Bibb, and Lloyd and Doris Leeson; numerous aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his wife, Sandi; sons, Trevor Leeson (Stacy) and Tysen Bibb (Sarah); grandchildren, Aidan, Coen, Juliet “Lettie”, Quinton Henry, Oliver, Lucas, and Caleb; brother, Charles “Chuck” Bibb; uncle, Henry L. “Hank” Bibb (Betty); numerous cousins, friends, and IBEW brothers and sisters.

William “Bill” Pruett, 65, Country Club, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024.

He was born on March 4, 1959, to Kenneth and Betty Pruett in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Bill graduated from Lafayette High School.

After 40 years of dedicated service, Bill retired from Clarios in 2021.

He married Leah Weston on November 27, 2010. She survives of the home.

Bill was quick-witted and had a joke for any situation. He was also a courteous, by-the-book, protective man who will be remembered for these qualities that his family and friends loved.

He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan. Bill also enjoyed hunting, listening to podcasts, and watching westerns, especially if it involved John Wayne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Betty Pruett; his sister, Penny; and first wife, Kim Pruett.

Survivors include his wife, Leah Pruett; sons, Jonathan, David, Justin and Stephen Pruett; and seven grandchildren.

William "Bill" Pruett 1959 - 2024

On September the 15th of 2024, Cora Alice (Cowing) Thoos, 82, passed away at North Kansas&nbsp;City Hospital after a lengthy illness. Cora was born to Fred and Cora (Blockburger) Cowing on&nbsp;December 29,1941 in Leavenworth, Kansas. 

She was one of five siblings, Mary, Fred Jr., Robert, and Josephine. Cora lived in Leavenworth for most of her life until 2014 when she moved to Atchison, Kansas.&nbsp;She attended Leavenworth High School and graduated in 1960. 

She married Thomas Karl&nbsp;Eismann Jr. in December of that year and they had three children together, Christina, Thomas III, and Katherine. They later divorced in 1968. She then married Joseph Scott Thoos in 1969,&nbsp;and they had one son together, Joseph Jr.&nbsp;Cora was known for her vibrant personality, love of family and friends, and enjoyed going to&nbsp;casinos, camping, boating, and picnics, as well as cheering on her Chiefs, KU Jayhawks and&nbsp;the Royals. We also can’t go without mentioning her delicious home cooked dishes and meals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mary Louise Rich, and her two brothers,&nbsp;Fred Cowing Jr. and Robert John Cowing. She was a home maker and worked various jobs&nbsp;outside of the home throughout her life consisting of the following: Smith’s Drug Store, Smacks Drive-In, Sears, NuWay, Meyer’s Dairy Store, Walmart, and USD #453, retiring from the school&nbsp;district in 2007 after over 20 years. 

She leaves behind her loving husband, Joe, of 55 years,&nbsp;daughter Chris (Brian) Sanders of Lansing, KS, son Tom Eismann III of Lansing, KS, daughter Kathy (Mark) Peckham of Thornton, CO, son, Joe Thoos Jr. of Leavenworth, KS, and her sister&nbsp;Josephine (Gary) Olson of Leavenworth, KS, in addition to nine grandchildren, ten great&nbsp;grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved very much.&nbsp;

Cremation and memorial services to be scheduled and have been entrusted to the Davis&nbsp;Funeral Chapel of Leavenworth, KS. Interment will be at the Leavenworth VA National Cemetery.

Wilber Dwain Benedict was born June 13, 1951 and passed away on September&nbsp;12, 2024. He passed after a brief battle with cancer at home with&nbsp;his niece Jamie, great niece Abigail, and nephew Blake, along with&nbsp;friends, surrounding him.

Wilber was the life of any gathering with his&nbsp;Australian accent and love of life. His funny "sayings" and stories of his&nbsp;life in Australia were always the main topic of conversation. He loved&nbsp;wildlife and would enjoy sitting outside to watch all the bunnies and&nbsp;squirrels and laugh at how "friendly" they were.

Wilber was a family&nbsp;man and loved talking about his children and his love of almost 29 years.&nbsp;He was so excited to be home and rekindle friendships and&nbsp;relationships with family, but missed his family at home dearly.&nbsp;

Wilber was born to Myron "Benny" and Colleen Plummer Benedict in&nbsp;Forest City, MO. Wilber Joined the Army in February of 1970. He&nbsp;served in Vietnam from June 1970 to September of 1971. In 1971 he&nbsp;transferred to the Army reserve and was honorably discharged in&nbsp;February of 1976. Wilber went to Australia on R&amp;R and loved it, He&nbsp;decided to move and make Australia home, he stayed in Australia for&nbsp;48 years. While there he had numerous jobs, he ran a dozier, he worked&nbsp;in the mines and drove a semi to name a few. He also owned his own&nbsp;business with his tractor and digger. He was proud of all the travels he&nbsp;had been on and the folks he met along the way.&nbsp;

Wilber was proceeded in death by both parents and numerous family&nbsp;members.&nbsp;Survivors include his children, Adam (Megan) Andrews and their son&nbsp;Caden of Australia, and Kate (Will) Reid of Australia; his "better half,"&nbsp;Sharon Copper and their two children, Megan Cooper and Daniel Cooper; his Aunt Pauleen Kurtz of Mound City; his brothers, Darrell (Robin)&nbsp;Benedict of Oregon, Justin (Maureen) Benedict of St Joseph, Jeff&nbsp;Benedict of Iola, KS, and Matthew Benedict of Plattsburg; sisters Kathy&nbsp;and Patti Benedict of Atalla, AL; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and&nbsp;friends.

Leroy Malone, 79, of Plattsburg, MO passed away peacefully at his home, September 6, 2024.

He was born on May 5, 1945 to Samuel Robert and Martha Florence Malone. He grew up in Plattsburg and graduated from Plattsburg High School in 1963. He then served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He served two tours and received two purple hearts and other decorations.

Leroy retired from Porters Kearney Body Shop in Kearney, MO. He was an avid NASCAR fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Joyce Mynatt, Carolyn Linhart, and Myrna Porter.

Leroy is survived by his brothers and sisters, Betty (Kenny) Swindler, Ken Malone, Michael Malone, and Rick (Lynnette) Malone; sixteen nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Bridgette Ann Lutz, age 73, of Atchison, Kansas, passed on September 15, 2024, at her home.&nbsp;

Memorial Services to celebrate her life will be Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Pastor George Baugh officiating. Bridgette was born on June 19, 1951, in Brookville, MO. She attended schools in Kansas City and later earned her bachelor’s degree from Missouri Western in Library Science. She loved kids and used her talents as a librarian at Rushville and DeKalb schools. She also served as a teacher’s assistant and was a substitute teacher for many years; she especially enjoyed substituting for her sons’ classes. Bridgette managed the Salvation Army in Atchison assisting countless families during her time there.

She was very involved in the Rushville Christian Church and taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed the coed bowling league, reading books and she loved all animals and wildlife, but adored her pets the most. Her grandchildren became her favorite part of life and she loved spending time with them.&nbsp;

Bridgette and Kennith Lutz were married on November 27, 1976, in Atchison, he survives of their home. She is also survived by her son, Craig (Melissa) Lutz; and her three precious grandchildren, Xavier Lutz, Maverick Lutz and Maci Lutz; and her mother-in-law, Lois Lutz.

Bridgette Ann Lutz, age 73, of Atchison, Kansas, passed on September 15, 2024, at her home.&nbsp;Memorial Services to celebrate her life will be Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Pastor George Baugh officiating. A visitation with the family will begin at 6:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to the Rushville Christian Church or the Salvation Army.
